Chapters Chapter one: A Simple Wish.
The beautiful night, of Princess Luna, shined greatly upon the peaceful village of ponyville. Everyone by this point, had either finished putting their foals to bed, or had gone to sleep.
However, sleep, was not the case for a certain individual. Inside a great oak tree, simply titled the "Golden Oaks" Library, Twilight Sparkle laid about, thinking a great deal on the events that happened a few days piror to this night.
I don't understand, why can't I sleep? she thought.
Though she never gave it much, she had been thinking deeply, on the matter for the past couple hours. Standing her head up, she adverted her eyes to the clock on her nightstand. Noticing the late hour of eleven thirty she let out a small sigh & decided that maybe a late night cup of tea would be nice.
Once she rose to her hooves, she began her trek to the door, until she heard the sounds of a young baby dragon, talking in his sleep. Looking at him, she thought back to the moments, that Spike wanted to stay up late & do things that most dragons his age would do, like Juggling levitated fireballs, reading adventure stories, or eating gems.
Twilight had always said no, because of Spike being just a young dragon, & that he needed his rest. But tonight she was considering to let loose of her bedtime rule for Spike, & then porceded to his basket.
Upon reaching his little bed, she gently bended her head towards his and whispered softly into his ear: "Wake up, little guy." she said, her voice sounding sweet like honey.
Spike awoke, with a yawn, and spoke a little groggily: "Oh, hey Twilight." Spike, then looked at the time, by taking out a gold pocket watch hidden beath the contents of his matteress, & looked at how late the hour was.
After letting out, a groan of annoyance, much to his exashted state he spoke tiredly "why did you wake me, at such an uneartly hour twi?" sounding like, a worn out competitor, in a race.
Twilight grew a sheepish look, that turned red, before speaking to him: "Sorry Spike, for some reason, I can't sleep tonight" she said, her expression now turning into a small frown.
Spike looked at her sympathetically, & could tell something, was indeed troubiling her. He walked up to her, & kindly extended his arms to her side, & said with warmness in his voice of little concern: "What's up Twilight?" he said, comfortly.
She let out a sigh of deep aggravation, before saying: "I don't know, it's like all my eomtions, are fading creating a void of nothing!" she said, her voice sounding sad.
After being taken aback, by the volume in her voice, Spike Calmly suggested, that a cup of tea would be an excellent remedy of any stressful night of the week.
When they arrived at the dinning area, next to the kitchen, Twilight had already put three books on a seprate chair across from her, & placed spike gently onto them, & trotted into the kitchen to make a fresh brewed pot of tea.
The coversastion that soon followed, was less then pleasent. Twilight reluctantly told her number one assistant, that while waiting for the tea to finish, she put two & two together & realized, that she hadn't talk to her friends in what felt like an eternity, & that she felt bad for not speaking to them, due to her royal duties in Canterlot & Ponyville.
It was this feeling, that she needed to fix, after Spike had gotten down from his chair & comforted her, & said that whatever she came up with would be a perfect result, with a good resolution.
The hour was late, & Spike was now heading for the stairs, before turning around & asking Twilight casually: "Hey Twi, are you coming, to bed?" with one foot on the first bottom step.
Twilight grew a light smile, before saying: "Oh, don't worry spike, I'll be up momentarily" and took a sip of her tae.
With a light nod, Spike walked up staris, and headed for the comfort of his bed.
After a few sips of her warm beverage, she headed for the stairs, after gently placing her cup in the sink. Twilight, however, stopped dead in her tracks & looked out the window, of her haven of books, & saw how beautiful the night was.
She then turned her body, now facing the window, casting a shadow in the moonlit wooden floor, & basked in the warmth of it letting go of her worries & made a simple wish, upon seeing a fast approaching star zoom pass the starry canvas.
With her eyes closed lightly she softly spoke; "Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight; I wish, for a miracle, to come in any form, to fix my little issue" she then, took a small breath; "I wish for, 'a son.' " and, with that said, Twilight gently opened her eyes, & hoped that her wish would soon be granted, before trotting upstairs to bed.
'Colorado Rockies'
High in the moutains of Denver, was a house that was really well structered, & upon it's second story floor laid a young child no more then seven, sleepy soundly. Tommy Anderson, who lives with his grandmother Carrol, lost his parents in a fatal car accident.
After the service, Carrol wanted nothing to do with him, because she had said, right out of remorse, that he was reposible for the death of his mom & dad.
For over a year now he's been taught to fend for himself, without his grandma teaching him, & has been avoiding her in fear of getting hurt for just walking by. It may sound selfish of him, but he wanted to abide by her wish of self solitude, & he did.
Suddenly, the world around him, Slowly turned bright after a few sprinkles of indigo blue magic, that danced about in his room & turned into a different room, where he was now resting upon a rug with a cressent moon in it's center.
very carefully, a pleasent figure walked towards his sleeping form, & slowly levitated him onto her back & walked over to her bed which consisted of a post frame that sparkled like countless stars in the sky.
The figure, known as Princess Luna, the Princess Of The Night gently levitated tommy off her back so not to disturb his pleasant dreaming, & then carfully crawled next to him; 'Sleep well, little one, for tomorrow you shall meet your new mommy in a very welcoming town' She then, looked up at the ceiling and, very peacefully closed her eyes. 'your wish, has been granted, Princess Twilight' she thought, before falling into a relaxed slumber, with young Tommy Anderson sleeping soundly, wrapped warmly in the covers of her bed.
Chapter two: Meeting The Princesses
Celestia's sun, rose majestically over the orange morning canvas, making the castle shine like an endless sea of pure white pearls. In the chambers of the night princess, Tommy slept pleasantly, dreaming about what every young boys dream, like superheroes, . 'Racing Cars' . It was a dream that he had quite frequently, & now, deep within his mind hoping for some consciousness, wanting it to desperately end.
Tommy's Dream
Sadly, the dream had already begun, & Tommy's peaceful sleep turned into a nightmare.
All the cars were lined up, at a local NASCAR stadium. Once the horn blew, they were off, either to win or get themselfes hurt in the process. Everything seemed fine for the racers, except Tommy's parents who were strapped together with seatbelts, with duct tape on their boddy's, but the worst part was that the car, was controlling itself.
As the race progressed, it became too dangerous to avoid on coming drivers, & soon there was a loud crash, followed by fire.
Emergency crews, rushed to the vhicle that had fallen of the track, & got little tommy out of harms way of the fire, his mom and dad however were not so lucky, as he looked upon them with great saddness he was on his knees crying for them to wake up, while two firemen stood at his side comforting him with their hands.
Looking at the boddies of his parents, he turned to hug the firemen's leg & asked; "why mr. fireman? . Why did they have to die?" with tears streaming down his face.
Jim, then picked him up, and said; "Don't worry son, they lived a good life, and I'm certain that they'll always be watching over you" with a warm smile, on his face.
As they walked, the dream was ending, & in a bright flash everything faded.
Tommy, awoke with some light deep breathing, & turned his feet resting at the end of the bed. where am I he thought.
He looked around, taking in the unkown apmosphere, with great curiosity, until he adverted his face downwards & saw a friendly looking creature that he had never seen before.
At first, Tommy shys away in fear, but after comforting him with her soothing words, he now opens up his arms & introduces himself "M-my name is Tommy, Princess Luna" he said softly.
Princess Luna returned the favor, with a warm smile before saying; "It's a pleaseure to meet you two tommy." Suddenly Princes Luna had remembered why she came up to her chambers. "Oh, hey Tommy, I had the chefs make us some breakfast. Would you care to join me & my sister" She asked, as she turned around to kneel on her legs, motioning for Tommy to ride.
At first he was weary, in fear that he might fall off, but Princess Luna reasured him that everything will be alright, & she'll defiantly be careful when carrying him on her back.
Once on her back, the strolled through the halls talking about the artitecture & how it was built, & learning that Princess Luna is an Alicorn, by answering a question he asked, about what type of pony she is, & said that unicorns have horns & do all types of magic, while pegasi & Earth ponies have neither, & are strong flires in the air, while earth ponies are hard workers on the ground.
They came across, a massive room that Tommy assumed was the dinning hall. Once inside they were greaded with another Alicorn, by the name of Princess Celestia, The Sun Princess.
Luna looked at Celestia, before saying; "Good morning sister, I would like to introduce you to someone" with confidence, that she would except him into their land.
"And, may I see this, someone that you talk of?" she asked, her friendly expression fading to a more serious look.
Princess Luna, being unsure if she should introduce Tommy, Reluctently decided to show him to her, out of being giving an order to do so.
Once on the floor, after being levitated down, Princess Celestia got a good look at him, almost like scanning for a deadly weapon at an airport.
When finished, her expression changed to a more happy & warm welcoming one "Welcome, to Equestria little one, my name's Princess Celestia" She then politly asked for his name, to which he said shyly; "T-Tommy Anderson, your highness" he said, before bowing to her.
Princess Celestia kindly gestured with her hoove and said; "hehe, no need to bow young one, & just Celestia is fine"
& with that, they kindly walked to their seats, and ate at bowls of fresh oatmeal while conversing about, why Celestia was more serious about meeting tommy, which she explained by saying that when she was sleeping, in her chambers last night she felt his presence, & wanted to make sure he wasn't a threat.
After saying that, Tommy frowned upon hearing the word 'Threat' He didn't want to be known as some kind of evil to this land, but having the memories of his grandmother's words made him shed tears of sadness.
Looking over towards, the little child, they rubbed their hooves along his shoulders; "Shh, it's okay Tommy. We don't think any different of you." she turned to celestia and asked for support, to which she nodded, and then spoke to the sad boy.
"Yes, Tommy, I'm sorry" Celestia said with, warmness in her voice.
The rest of the morning, was Tommy taking a bath & wearing some fancy cloths made by the castles Taylor, which consisited of mainly a navy sailor suite with white puffs for sleaves. It wasn't his favorite type of clothing, but it's better then wearing a stinky pair of plaid pajamas.
Strolling through the castle, Tommy came across a room that look farily new, as far as the architecture of the door goes. Letting his curiosity get the better of him he decided to go inside & to his surprise the room was very old computer looking.
Every where he looked there were levers & pannels on either sides of the room, & Tommy wanted to see what kind of fun treats this room held.
He walked over to the first pannel on his left, downwards and stepped upon three stairs, & pressed a series of buttons before he was in a completely different area that had changed when he pulled the lever next to the pannel.
Stepping down from the stairs, he was amazed by the scenery that, he lost track of what this location was, & the consiquences that might present them to him.
Suddenly, he heard a growl, from behind him. & saw that it was a furisious lion, ready to pounce.
Luckily, in the nick of time, Tommy rolled under the lion & ran as fast as he could to the exit, however barley a few inches passed his feet when the lion grabbed him by the back of his cloths. This is it, G-Goodbye World, H-here I C-come mommy" he thought as he began to cry.
Then, suddenly, a bright flash shot out of the horn of the fearless Princess, & the lion reatreated back into the room wimpering from the heat of the blast.
Luna looked down, at Tommy with an arched eyebrow, & he was now panicking with fear & saddnes "P-please Princess L-Luna, I D-didn't know T-that it was a D-danger room." kneeling down, on his knees cying lightyl, he expression changes to one of sympathy: "Shh, no little one, I'm sorry. I should've been watching you" She then explains where she was: "I was just making final arangements, for The Grand Galoping Gala, coming up in a few weeks" at that Tommy, took a curios interest & ask what it was.
She then explained that, it's a special party that happens every year at Canterlot Castle, & everyone from there and ponyville comes & join the festivity & company of good food & music, She had even mentioned Twilight & her fiends, who livined the place up three years back, & with a light chuckle she said that she's pretty sure they'll do the same this year.
"Oh, & speaking of Twilight, I just remembered that I want you to meet her, little one" Princess Luna said warmly, with Tommy on her back. Tommy being more curios then ever asked "why is that, Princess Luna?" in his soft tone.
Princess Luna just smiled warmly & said "oh, you'll see soon enough, young one." & with that they headed for the enterance hall, where Celestia was gretting them fair well & that, she'll see her sister later this evening, knowing what Luna's mission is, while being supported of her wonderful idea, for her student to be a mother, & for Spike to have his own little brother to help him out around the library & play games & just have fun.
& with all these thoughts in her head, Celestia headed up the stairs smiling warmly.
In the streets of the beautiful town of Canterlot Princess Luna with Tommy in tow, headed for the train station that lead to Ponyville, but not without getting a few glances from a few snobs & Stuck ups did they finally arrive the the train.
Once inside, they took their seats in the center after getting their tickets punched in, by the conductor, & sat in the middle cart. The ride was very pleasent, as Luna pointed out the many colored birds that were flying of in the distance, and Tommy did his best to name them as best he could.
However, he started to yawn, after his fiifth guess of a red bird, & gently laid his head against the arms, of the beautiful Night Princess. She gently stroked his light tan hair & sung him to sleep.
Once asleep she held him colse, & said; "Sleep well, dear Tommy, for you shall meet your new mommy soon" very softly, as the train porceded it's way onwards, to Ponyville
Chapter three: A Pleasant Morning.
The mid morning sun, shined ever so steadily, through the window of Twilight & Spike's bedroom. Upon waking up, with a small yawn, after getting a literal warm wake up call, Twilight got out of bed a little groggily but retained her posture after a few steady steps.
Walking over, to the mirror in front of her, she gently held the brush with her magic, & stroked her hair with great precision. First a long stroke down her neck & then a few front brushes for the front of her head.
After finishing the progression, she looked herself over, & was pleased with the result smiling with great satisfaction. A, well combed princess, is next to a pretty one. she thought, trying to be, more accepting to her appearance, after being granted it by her faithful teacher.
But that, positive energy faded, when she remembered a moment after the coronation, where an unknown individual of mysterious ways, & a face that was covered through a brown hood, spoke words of dis encouragement that she thought where just sayings to put her under pressure.
Twilight chose to ignore them, & go have some cake that Pinkie had baked, the day prior to the most historical event, since the founding of Equestria.
But soon, during a night, of what Twilight had hoped for a nice relaxing evening in bed, the words popped up in her head like the beating of a drum cycle, reccuring with no particular pattern other then countinuous thumping.
Thankfully, it only lasted five minutes, & she was able to think about a pleasent thought, of relaxing at the swimming hole with her friends, & was out like a light in mere seconds.
However, in the days that followed, it took longer for her to fall asleep, due to her mind wandering through a desert of negative energy.
She didn't understand, why hadn't she'd been able to simply wish the words away, like they were nothing but sand paper? . Why did those words stick out, like they were leaches consuming her, until she was pailer then a grape without the natural juice of healty aperrance? .
With a few quick shakes, she brushed the thoughts away, focussing her gaze on the now rather on the then.
As she started walking, she stopped, a good few feet from where Spike was sleeping. Looking at him, she thought back to the moments, where she never lended a hoof to help him out with his chores, leaveing her frowning, with regret of her selfless actions.
But then, she remembered the other times, where she actually cared about him, like helping him get accepted with other dragons while also realising that she & her friends, lead him down the path of being a bully, but seeing him stand up for himself during a phoenix conflict with an egg, saying that it's just young & defensless, but has a kind & caring heart like him.
That moment alone, made Twilight think, that even though Spike has his moments, where he feels like he can't accomplish anything, due to the lack of her & her friends support for him, that he always pushes himself to hard for their approval, & got very little recognition for his good deeds of kindness, one being the baby phoenix, that he saved & named pee wee.
Now came the choice, of who should make brunch, on this beautiful day. Thinking long & hard, Twilight very gently walked over to spike, and nuzzeled him gently on his cheek.
Shifting a little, before waking up, the baby dragon did a little yawn, before saying; "Morning Twi, what time is?" in a bit of a tired voice, before gently reaching between his matteress.
Hardly a moment passed, when Twilight gently placed her hoof on Spike's claw. She then spoke, in a soothing tone; "It's ten minuets to eleven, Spikey" remembering, that she had, looked at her nightstand clock, upon after opening her eyes to a blinding light.
Spike, was about to get up, until Twilight had gently stopped him, with both hooves resting upon his small figure; "Oh no, you don't Spike" She said, like a mother teaseing her child, but with warmness. Spike was left bewildered & asked confusingly; "Uh, what are you, trying to say Twi?" .
Still having, a warm expression on her face, Twilight told Spike what she was getting at; "Well, Spike, I decided that, today I'll make us both some brunch" . Upon hearing this, Spike was thrilled, that Twilight would be the brunch maker of the day.
However, his enthusiasm faded, when she failed to ask him, if he would like to help. Catching onto his, broken spirit she kindly asked; "What's wrong, sweetie" in a small concerned voice.
Spike however, was uncertain if he should tell her, in fearing that he might upset her, by going against her desire. That, however was not the case, as Twilight spoke to him reassuringly; "Spike, would you like, to help me make brunch?" with a bit, of a tease in her voice.
Spike, gently nodded, now perked up like a plant, on a nice day in spring. and with the agreement, of the two indivduals reached, Twilight gently bended down on all fours, & said with warmness in her voice; "Then hop on, my little brother." with, a comforting smile, and a slight wink at the end of her sentence.
Spike blushed, and happily obliged, by climing onto her back. As they walked, Twilight thought to herself; "Ha! , top that, mr so called voice in my head" But realizing, she sounded to much, like her energetic friend Pinkie, said to herself, in a mental note, that maybe cutting down some personal time, with her would make he not say random phrases. Not that, she was nitpicking any aspect of her party friend, but rather persuading her brian, to function the way it's suposse to.
But that thought changed, when she realized, that Pinkie was who she's always been, and cutting down the time she spent with her, would only add to more lonlieness, then what she's feeling now and with any case of Pinkie, was that she always felt sad, when none of her friends saw her in a long amout of time.
With he desision made, to see Pinkie again, sometime today or whenever, they were already in the dining room, & Twilight set the table before making theri late breakfast. Twilight set the plates, while Spike set the silverware, that he found in a nearby cabinet, next to the table. Along with a couple napkins, set upon the flat surfaces of the knifes & forks.
Once the table, was set Twilight & Spike proceeded to the kitchen, & began the process of making their late morning meal, which consisted of cracking eggs, and pouring milk & batter into a plain white bowel, with a single red stripe nearing it's surface.
By the time, bruch was finished, it was already two minuets passed eleven, and Twilight, along with her little brother, Spike ate quietly while conversing, about subjects like what will they do today, & that they'll need to get groceries, from the market later on in the afternoon.
Ponyville Market.
Early Afternoon
The town, had already started bustling, with activity as Princess Luna had just came into town, getting a few bows and greetings from her subjects.
Luna had, just got finished with a snack, of a couple banana that she bought for Tommy, when the market place had just started crowding with the many residents, of the most happiest town that Tommy has seen, in all his young life.
"I hope, she'll be nice, and not fear me" he thought softly, as they were now nearing Golden Oaks.
Once at the door Princess Luna, gently knocked, pleasently awaiting for her fellow princess, to answer the door. As they waited, Luna was filled with hope, that she would accpet Tommy as her own, while praying that Spike wouldn't be jealous. & then, with a gentle turn of the knob, the door opened very delicaly, reveling to Luna her young princess friend.
