Magic, Wings, and Other Things
The door to apartment 5F slides open lethargically, revealing a light yellow unicorn. He shifts his head side to side, seeing if his guests standing in the hallway were followed; which they weren't. The host nods his head and allows the honored guests to come inside. The arrivals are greeted with a a rug covered floor for a living room; the couch and coffee table have been pushed to opposite ends of the room while the blinds remain shut on the dimming sunlight. Candles burn slowly and dimly on the coffee table while bowls of chips and dip are scattered about the perimeter of the candles. On the center of the rug lies Colgate, reading a book with a blue aura of magic.
"It ain't as good as Canterlot, but it'll have to do." The yellow unicorn jokes.
"We're here for some fun, not a dinner, Patient." One of the guests, Shining Armor, tells his host.
"Come on! Let's get acquainted." The other guest, a purple pegasus hops past the two and greets Patient's girlfriend on the rug.
The two male unicorns walk in and sit opposite each other on the rug, with the mares flanking them.
"So, how's it going with the captain, Starlight?" Patient asks his pegasus friend.
"It's been going fine! Cadence is none the wiser." Starlight giggles, nudging Shining with a wing.
"Let's just keep it this way." Shining growls.
"Your secret is safe with us." Colgate stretches out her legs and crawls over to Patient, nuzzling the side of his face.
Half an hour goes by with jovial conversations, the consumption of hummus dip with sliced pita, and a decent amount of cheap red wine drunk. Finally, Patient brings up a question.
"How did you to meet up with each other, anyways?" Patient asks, curiously.
"I was doing some weather control up in Canterlot with bossy-pants here giving orders for cloud arrangement." Starlight scoots towards her secret lover and places a soft kiss on his cheek. Shining smiles.
"How'd you two plebeians meet?" The captain asks jokingly.
"I had Patient for an appointment where I work. He was so sweet and he flirted me up so well. I swear, I think I almost fainted when he asked me out after I cleaned his teeth." Colgate squirms into her boyfriend and nudges her plot into his belly.
A half-second pause takes the place of any dialogue.
"So...you guys wanna get started?" Patient asks, hopeful to finally get some action going on.
