Many years after settling their differences, and forming Equestria, the ancient pony tribes lived in a great harmony, in a bond of which was thought to be inseparable.

One fateful day would have it; this very harmony would cease to exist, the day of which began the devastating rule of the one who is only known as Discord.

It was not, as some had predicted, the end. Pony kind pushed on, and the legendary duo Luna and Celestia were born. As foretold in legend, it would be these mares who would weald a power so great, it would take more than a millennia to even begin to understand it.

However, their conquest over Discord was not on their own, and was not without consequence. As a small colt would soon learn: some things are not what they seem.
