[1] A sound that, thankfully, was previously unheard of in recorded history[2]. Unfortunately, this meant that the castle staff failed to recognizing the deeply penetrating inhaling sound, resulting in a record breaking number of miscommunication issues and medical leaves among the morning staff.

[2] Though it did happen in unrecorded history; the historians of the time thought, perhaps rightly so, that nopony would believe the First Dessert Battle of Everfree — where the armies of the realm fled from two bickering mares until the chief cook took control of the situation — ever happened anyway.

[3] So named after an awry spell left a foal-sized Alicorn in its wake. Twilight is still not allowed to practice age reversion spells in either the Crystal Castle or the Canterlot Castle.

[4] As Luna discovered first hoof; Luna never expected her little joke to become a Daily Jingle’s first page “exclusive” about Celestia’s secret lover. Not that Celestia ever believed it.

[7] Twilight is also not allowed to cast alicorn-strength magnetism spells in the castle. But the owlbear was not her fault.

[8] One of five doors in the palace chosen for the sound they made, and the only one of those where the intent was to maximize the sound. Pompous fools do love a good door slam, and sometimes pleasing pompous fools is a good political move.

[9] Joining items such as running down the aisles, hiding inside the library to use it past its closing time, and making book fortresses.

[10] Very useful when one wants to inconspicuously hear what her guests are whispering about; not so much when one wants to avoid annoying whispers.
