"Goodbye, Angel," Fluttershy told her pet bunny as she flew out the door. "See you tonight!"
Fluttershy then flew into town very smoothly, unlike the Wonderbolts who just whiz past everything. She was going to her first day of work. She was going to be working for Rarity at her shop, Carousel Boutique. Fluttershy wasn't going to be sewing anything, just helping sell the clothes and whatnots.
Her first day went through so easily. She loved her job! It has now been a few months since she started and it has been going great.
One day, around closing time, Rarity was leaving. "Bye, Fluttershy!" the white unicorn called as she was heading for the door. She glanced behind her and saw Fluttershy folding the different clothes ever so slowly and carefully.
"You do know you don't have to do that, right?" Rarity asked. "I can pick it up tomorrow morning."
"Oh no, I'll do it," Fluttershy insisted.
Rarity sighed. "Well, I guess if you really want to," she said. "Goodnight, Fluttershy."
"Goodnight, Rarity," Fluttershy replied. Rarity then opened the door with her unicorn magic and left.
Fluttershy immediately began folding the clothes again. She put them into piles and sorted them. All of a sudden, the lights went out.
Fluttershy jumped, she hates the dark. She looked around. "Uh, um, Rarity?" she asked shaking.
No answer. The only thing that happened was that some pony had touched her back. One dimly lit light came back on. Fluttershy nearly died, for there were four marrequins (pony version of mannequins) surrounding her. They all tried to grab her.
She flew up and headed for the door. When she got to it, it was locked. She then ran to the back door, locked as well. Fluttershy quickly dashed into one of the fitting rooms and tried to hide in there.
The marrequins were coming in under the door. Fluttershy began to cry.
Somepony then grabbed her hoof. Fluttershy looked to her left and saw a tan Earth pony with brown hair styled perfectly. "Fly," he said.
Fluttershy listened to the pony, except she grabbed hold of him. He then flew up with her. They flew to the ceiling and Fluttershy flew down to the back door. The colt then pulled out a metal stick and put it up to the back door. the stick then started blinking and making a weird sound. He then opened the door for Fluttershy.
"Thank you, for saving me," Fluttershy thanked him.
"You're welcome," he replied. "Thank you for saving me." He then closed the door and went back inside. Fluttershy looked at the door and felt like she should go back in and save him.
The door opened back up again and the same colt popped his head out. "I'm the Doctor by the way," he told her. "Who are you?"
"Um... I'm.... Fluttershy," she answered shyly.
"I'm sorry, what was that?" the Doctor asked.
"Fluttershy," she spoke up.
"Nice to meet you, Fluttershy," he responded. "Fly for your life!"
Fluttershy obeyed the alicorn and flew away as fast as she could. She looked back at the shop and saw a bright blue light. It then went pitch black. Fluttershy then quickly flew back to her cottage. She locked her door and flew to her room and hid under her covers.
She kept playing back tonight in her head. Tonight was unlike any other night, she witnessed somepony die. 'Poor Doctor', Fluttershy thought. 'If only I could've done something'.
The next morning, there was a knock at her door. Fluttershy got up and flew downstairs to see who is was. She opened the door and saw Spike there. Fluttershy blushed and let him in. "Hey, Spike," she greeted him.
"Hi, Fluttershy," he responded. He then have her a little kiss on the cheek. Fluttershy then blushed even harder. Fluttershy and Spike have been going out for a while now, it was a pretty big deal. "I saw the explosion last night and came to see if you were alright."
Fluttershy was confused. "What explosion?" she asked.
"Well, it wasn't an explosion, just a really bright light," he explained. "It just blew the roof off of Rarity's boutique."
"Oh my!" Fluttershy gasped thinking about the Doctor colt she met last night. "Is Rarity okay?"
"I think so," he answered.
"Would you mind going and checking on her?" she questioned.
Spike hook his head. "Not at all," he responded. "I love you, Flutters."
Fluttershy was shocked. He'd never said he loved her before. Fluttershy smiled and nodded. "I love you too," she said.
Spike then left Fluttershy's cottage and made his way to Rarity's house. Fluttershy then went to open the door to walk out of her cottage to see the boutique, but somepony was trying to get in. For when she opened it, the Doctor was standing right in front of her.
Fluttershy looked at him. "You're alive?" she asked.
"Uh, yeah," he responded as if it were obvious. " Are you?"
Fluttershy nodded. She then looked at him some more. "I'm sorry, but why are you here? Did you need me?"
"No," he replied. "I was just following the broken pieces."
"What broken pieces?" she wondered.
The Doctor then looked on the ground then picked up a piece of white porcelain with his hoof of the grass. "Like this," he said.
"That looks like a piece of a marrequin," she stated.
"A marrequin?" he asked. "That's an odd name for a mannequin. then again, I'm in a world full of ponies. So, I guess it makes sense."
"You're not making much sense, sir," Fluttershy told him.
"Am I?" he asked. "I find it funny that something like this happened to one of my other friends in the other universe, then it's happening here. I just don't understand."
Fluttershy looked at him strangely. "Would you like some tea?" she wondered.
The Doctor looked at her. "Yeah," he replied. "That'd be nice."
Fluttershy then led him into her cottage. She showed him her couch for him to sit on. He sat himself down and waited for the tea she was making. "So, why do think the broken pieces are leading to my house?" she asked.
"Not a clue," he said.
"Fluttershy!" Spike yelled as he came back to her cottage. "Fluttershy!" Fluttershy stuck her head out her window and saw him running towards her cottage. Spike then came through the door and saw the Doctor sitting there. "Who's he? Are you cheating on me? Fluttershy, why didn't you tell me? I thought you loved me!!!"
"Spike, I do love you," Fluttershy told him. "I just met the Doctor last night and helping him with something."
"You're helping me?" he questioned.
"Well, I was hoping you'd let me help," she said. "It's the least I can do."
The Doctor smiled at her. "Ok," he replied. Fluttershy smiled back. "There's only one marrequinn left anyway. It'll be simple to catch."
"It will?" she asked.
"Yep," he responded. "It's right there." He pointed his hoof behind Fluttershy. She turned around and screamed.
"Spike!" she yelled. "Get out!"
"One step ahead of you!" he responded as he ran out the door.
The Doctor looked at Fluttershy who had a scared look on her face. "Are you sure you want to stay?" he asked.
"I'm positive," she assured him.
"Alright," he replied. The Doctor then looked at the marrequin in front of him. He stood up and took out the blinky thingy again.
"I saw you use that last night," Fluttershy remarked. "What is it?"
"Sonic screwdriver," he replied. "Does wonders." He pointed his screwdriver at the marrequin and it stopped moving. The Doctor stood up and walked closer to it. He then picked it up with his mouth and started dragging it out of Fluttershy's cottage.
"Where are you going to put that?" she wondered.
The Doctor dropped the marrequin so he could answer. "Bringing it somewhere far away from here," he replied.
"Like Baltimare?"
"Farther than that," he told her. He started to go out the door leaving Fluttershy alone in her cottage. He then poked his head back in. "Do you want to come?"
Fluttershy smiled an nodded. "Yes, please," she said. Fluttershy turned to Angel who was not happy. "I'm sorry, Angel, I'll be back soon."
Fluttershy then followed the Doctor into the Everfree Forest. Not deep into it, but pretty far. He then led her to a big rectangular box. The Doctor then trotted into the box with the marrequin in his mouth.
Fluttershy followed him inside. At first, she thought they could never fit in there, then she thought why they were going inside, finally she was stunned. "Oh, my," she said. "It's bigger on the inside!"
Fluttershy then went outside of the box and looked around it. How?, she thought.
"Fluttershy!" the Doctor called. "Come on! We're on a tight schedule!"
Fluttershy then quickly ran inside the box and looked around. "This is impossible!"
"That's what you think," he told her. "This is just the basics to Time Lord logic. You see, my ship is called TARDIS. It stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space."
"Time Lord logic?" she asked.
"Right," he said to himself. "Well, believe it or not, I'm a Time Lord from Galifrey."
Fluttershy looked at him she then tensed up. "You mean your an... ALIEN?!?!" she screamed
"Well," he said. "Yeah."
"Are you going to abduct me?" she wondered.
The Doctor laughed. "No," he replied. "I promise I won't. People just want to come with me."
"People?" she asked. "Don't you mean 'ponies'?"
The Doctor laughed. "You ponies are hilarious! Now let's go somewhere in space!"
He then started pushing buttons with his hooves. The TARDIS then started moving and in a few seconds it stopped. The Doctor then opened the doors. When he did, it opened to a vacant space realm. He then threw the marrequin out there. "Now he'll never come back," he remarked.
Fluttershy looked outside and saw it she couldn't believe she is looking at space right now. "What can this thing do?" she questioned.
"It can travel anywhere in space or time," he replied.
"It's amazing," she told him.
"Would you like to see more of it?" he asked her.
Fluttershy looked at him. "More of what?" she asked.
"More of your universe," he answered.
Fluttershy nodded. "Can I say goodbye to Spike first?" she asked. The Doctor nodded and brought her back to Ponyville. She saw Spike standing outside her cottage. "Spike!" she called.
Spike saw her and they ran up to each other. They then hugged. "Spike," Fluttershy started, "I'm going to be traveling with the Doctor for a while."
"Why?" he asked. "You could get seriously hurt! And how will I live without you?"
Fluttershy smiled and gave him a kiss. "You can survive," she told him.
"I love you," he said.
Fluttershy smiled without answering. She then ran back to the Doctor and the TARDIS which were directly outside her cottage. The TARDIS then made a weird sound and disappeared.
This is where there journey begins.
