//-------------------------------------------------------// Princess Twilly McSmarty Pants -by kittyhasnosoul- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Thunderstorm Buddy //-------------------------------------------------------// Thunderstorm Buddy Filly Twilight Sparkle used her pillow to cover her ears as the thunder from outside roared loudly from outside, she whimpered timidly as a flash of bright lightning was seen in the distance. "D-daddy?" called out Twilight, grabbing her covers and pulling them over her head. Her father, Stardust, was too fast asleep to hear his daughter's timid cries. "Daddy?" she called out, this time louder than before. Stardust sat up in bed, removing his blue sleeping mask. He hopped out of bed, the springs creaked as he sprung up out of the bed quickly. This awoke his wife, Twilight Twinkle. "Honey, what are you doing up?" she asked, yawning and rubbing her eye with a hoof. Stardust turned away from the door he was about to open, and turned back towards his wife. "I heard Twilight call for me," he said, loosening his grip to the door handle. "I think she's scared of the thunder storm." Twilight Twinkle's desire to get back to sleep was lost, "I'll come down with you." Stardust smiled confidently, "You'd be a big help," he said, motioning for Twilight Twinkle to get out of bed as he opened the creaky door slightly. "You know how our Twilight can be about thunder storms." Twilight Twinkle nodded and hopped out of bed and walked towards her husband and the open door. The two parents walked down the stairs slowly, trying not to make a sound and scare their daughter even more. "So, what are we going to do to get her back to sleep?" Stardust asked, looking at his wife with a curious face. Twinkle smiled confidently, "I have a few tricks in mind, they worked when I was a filly, so they ought to work for our Twilight." They both walked side by side down the hallway to Twilight's bedroom, they passed the playroom and the washroom as they made their way down to the purple unicorn's bedroom. Stardust opened the door that was labeled with a piece of craft paper, 'Twilight's Room' with a backwards R. The walls were dark purple with magenta stars, and the carpet was light purple with a yellow rug. In the center was a filly sleeping in a light pink bed, stirring uncomfortably. The filly removed the blanket from her head, and looked up at her two parents who were walking towards her slowly. "Mommy, daddy, I am scared of the thunderstorm." Twilight Twinkled smiled, "We know, Twilly." The filly's horn lit up in a magenta blast, and soon she was teleported right next to her mother and father, clutching onto their legs. "Honey, you know, the thunder can't bite." Stardust teased, leaning down and hugging his daughter. "Yes, I know, daddy. But it still is scary!" Twilight Twinkle giggled softly, "Twilight, you know what will make it all better?" "What?" Twilight's eyes widened out of curiosity. Twilight Twinkle's horn began to glow a white color, then once her spell was complete, a gray doll appeared in front of Twilight Sparkle. "What's this, mommy?" the filly asked, poking at the doll with a hoof. Stardust was watching, not having a single idea what his wife was going to say next. "I'm giving you my favorite childhood toy. My mother gave it to me when I was about your age. It always helped me when the skies were gray," she pushed the toy closer to her curious daughter. "And now, I'm passing it down too you." Twilight Sparkle gasped with excitement and amazement, "This is the bestest gift ever! Thank you, mommy!" she leaped forward and hugged her mother, and Stardust smiled. Twilight Twinkle's horn lit up again, and with a flash of bright light a notebook and quill appeared. "Look, Twilight! She even comes with her own notebook and quill. I know how much you love studying, now you have a study-buddy!" The filly's eyes widened, "Thank you mommy! Thank you, thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you!" Twilight Twinkle giggled, "Now can you get to sleep, Twily?" Twilight Twinkle asked, nuzzling her daughter's cheek. "I'll try, mommy." With that, the filly was walking back to her bed to hopefully have sweet dreams. Twilight Sparkle wore a smile on her face as she snuggled up into her blankets, as soon as she finished, she wrapped her forelegs around the plushie. The thunder roared throughout the house once again, and Twilight's heart began to beat faster. She tightened her grasp around the doll, and closed her eyes shut. Surprisingly, she fell asleep within minutes. Quiet, gentle snores were heard. Twilight was no longer bothered by the thunderstorm. Instead of the rain sounding like thousands of ice pellets hitting the roof, it was relaxing and comforting. A drop of drool escaped Twilight Sparkle's mouth as she snored happily, her grip to the doll not loosening one bit. Twilight Twinkle and Stardust made their way back up the stairs to their bedroom, trying to make as little noise when the creaky old stairs made contact with their hooves. "How come you never told me that you still had that doll?" asked Stardust, pushing the door to their bedroom open. "Oh, I didn't want anything to happen too it. I was saving it for when I was sure that Twily was responsible enough to take care of it." Twilight Twinkle responded with a smirk. As they both laid down in their beds to finally get some sleep, a whimper was heard, coming from a room over from theirs. "Shining Armor?" Stardust asked in a dead-pan tone. "Yup." Twilight Twinkled replied, getting back up.
