Derpy's Story

                                                                 Ice and Fury were both a bit nervous at Ditzy's first day of school. They trotted along with her the whole way there. When they got there, they told her to just have fun and ignore any bullies.

"Ok!" Ditzy replied happily. She nuzzled her parents one last time and walked to the door. She tripped a little on the stairs, but she never fell down completely. Ice and Fury left when they saw that Ditzy was fully in the classroom.  Ditzy fell repeatedly, and most of the kids snickered. She blushed of embarrassment every time it happened. She finally sat down at her desk, and class began.

At recess, Ditzy played happily in the sand box with her toys she had brought in her saddle bag. Suddenly, she heard a giggle behind her. She heard somepony say something.

   She could make out, "Her eyes are SOO weird!" Ditzy frowned. She turned around. She saw a group of two filly mares. One was a neon pink with a neon rainbow mane and tail. The other was  white and black with a gray mane and tail.

"T-There's nothing wrong with my eyes! It's not my F-Fault!" Ditzy said in an adorable high-pitched voice. The pink mare rolled her icy blue eyes.

  "There is DEFINETELY something wrong with your very, dare I say... derpy eyes!" She sneered. An evil-looking grin spread across the black-and-white filly's muzzle.

  "That's what we can call you!" She said with a bit of a giggle. "Derpy. Derpy.. Hooves! With you being so clumsy!" The two fillies laughed maniacally. A huge frown spread across Ditzy's face. Tears stung her bright yellow eyes. She turned around, feeling very hurt.   Then the pink filly said into Ditzy's ear, "I'm Rainbow Needle.  And that's White Shadow.Don't forget that." Then she trotted off, laughing evilly again. Ditzy rushed to a tree far away from the playground and began to cry.

"I...I just don't know what went wrong..."

Rainbow Needle and Shadow had managed to get Ditzy's new nickname around. She remembered what her mother had said on the first day of school , and just decided to live up to her new name. She didn't mind it very much anymore. She actually did think it was funny. She didn't deny, she WAS clumsy, and she knew that her eyes where weird, but what could she do? She ignored Rainbow Needle and White Shadow, although it was super hard. She would sometimes talk back to them or just roll her eyes -the best she could. She had met a few friends, though. A colt named Doctor Hooves, and another colt named Wrench. Ditzy had also gotten her cutie mark. She had become an assistant mail mare. One day, she found a bottle of Bubbles. She tried it out. She was apparently extremely good with them, because after a while of playing with them, she had earned her cutie mark. A pattern of bubbles lining her flank. She didn't quite know what it meant, but she knew she would  try live up to it.
