Joystick woke with a start, she was sweating and breathing heavily. This is the fourth week that she's had the nightmare, not even Luna has been able to help.
It always started with her walking through a city that was in shambles. At first there were scattered fires and she could hear screams but she couldn't see anypony. Then she started to see ponies out of the corner of her eye, though there was something off about them... They way they moved seemed wrong but she could never get a good look at them, for when she turned her head they seemed to disappear around a corner and if she followed, once she turned the corner, they would be gone. Soon after, the nightmares got worse, this is when they started to wake her up. Soon she could see what was wrong with them, she no longer heard screams and the fires had long since gone out, leaving the city dark, but not empty... For now she could see what made the ponies scream...
She didn't know what to call them, they were once ponies, she could tell that much, but not anymore. Their eyes were all clouded and unseeing, their movements jerky and seemingly random, there flesh was torn and bloody, though they stopped actually bleeding. Some we're missing limbs, eyes, jaws and other body parts but they all moved, they all groaned in a very un-ponylike way. Every night Joystick walked though this city, very quietly, but soon enough one of the... Things would hear her. It was always different, she would trip over a crack and give a small squeal of fright, there would be a twig she would step on, or a can she would kick. But they always heard her sooner or later, then they would come after her. Their heads would snap towards her, making sickening cracks and they would start shambling toward her at an alarming rate, no matter how fast she ran one would finally catch up to her and when it did... Well, that's when she woke up...
