Do You Remember How We Met? (revised)
Hello, my name is Lyra Heartstrings. I just moved here in Ponyville from Canterlot. and today is the first day of my new school! I'm a little sad that I won't see any of my old friends as much as before, but I'm also really excited to make a billion trillion new ones here to Ponyville!
So right now, I'm on my way to my new school with Mommy. Mommy is a Pegasus, so I get to fly to school on her back. I consider myself I very lucky pony to get to do that. Down near the edge of town, we reach a small brick building surrounded by fillies and colts of all different types.
Mommy starts to descend and I get a closer look at my future classmates. There's a unicorn with mane and tail that reminded me of my toothpaste at home. She's talking to a magenta filly with eyes like roses. Then there's a gray Pegasus with yellow mane that seemed to be stuck in a tree.
I told Mommy to pull over and help the pony that was stuck. As we were hovering slightly above the branches, I called out-
"Excuse me, do you need some help down there?"
The gray filly looked up at us. "Umm... yes please." Looking closer, I saw the pony had crossed eyes...it looked a little weird, but it would be rude to say anything so I stayed quiet.
Carefully, I grab on to the filly's hooves, the Mommy flies upward. Pulling the filly above the tree, we then set her gently on the grass.
"Thanks for helping me." She says. "My names Derpy Hooves by the way." Derpy holds out her hoof.
I shake it, introducing myself and Mommy.
"Well, thanks again!" Calls out Derpy, as she flew away in the distance.
"Maybe I better leave now." Says Mommy, hovering already. I give her goodbye kisses and she hugs me. She hugged me a bit too much if I had to be honest, but I let her since It was my first day.
When Mommy was gone, I set off to met some other friends. The first two ponies I saw where sitting over at the edge of the playground. There was a white unicorn with blue mane, and an earth pony with a pink coat and purple eyes.
They could be my friends I thought
So I went over to them and started up a conversation. They just ignored me though. I thought maybe they didn't hear me, so I tried again. This time, the pink one glared at me and said- "Get away loser. We don't need you here bothering us."Yeah!" The white one piled on.
At that moment, I was confused. I sat down in shock. Nothing like this ever happened to me before. Everypony had always wanted to be my friend. I felt tears stinging in my eyes, and I'm pretty sure I was seconds away from totally breaking down, if now for a new voice.
"Don't worry about them." I looked up and saw that the voice belonged to a cream colored filly. "They do that to every new pony around here." The filly helped me up. "I'm Bonbon." She said. "I-I'm Lyra..." I stuttered.
"Hi Lyra."
Before our conversation could continue, the bell rang. Indicating it was time for class to start.
Smooth. I thought to my myself. Way to make a first impression. Stuttering like that.

Sooner or later, the group of school foals reach the their assigned classrooms. Fortunately, I was put in the same class as Bonbon, but unfortunately, I was also put in the same class as the two mean fillies who gave me a hard time earlier. Our teacher was a light brown mare with darker brown mane and tail that was put up into a bun. She introduced herself as Ms.Craft. She seemed pretty nice overall I guess.
Later at lunch, I pretty soon figured out the way this school ran. There was a table group with lots of fancy ponies, including the two mean fillies. Then there was the table where a group of colts played some sort of board game that involved dragons and dungeons. There was another table that had some fillies that seemed pretty nice, so I decided I could sit over there. Boy was I wrong.
As soon as I set my lunch down on the surface of the table, the entire group immediately sprinted away from me. It looked like I was sitting alone for this lunch period.
"May I sit here?"
I looked up to find Bonbon again.
"Sure." I said, trying to play it cool.
So lunch actually turned out okay. Also, Derpy sat with us! We found out she got bullied too because of her eyes. We had a lot to talk about. Yeah, everything was going great!
Until recess...
Derpy had crashed into a tree and hurt her wing. She had to go home early. So it was just Bonbon and I.
We were sitting on a bench in the playground. Just chilling.
"Sea Crisp and Pink Pearl." Bonbon said suddenly.
"Huh?"
"Those are the names of the two mean fillies."
"Oh."
Then, as if on cue, those same ponies came and sat on the benches opposite of us. The seemed too engaged in their conversation to notice us, and Bonbon and I wanted to keep it that way. We slowly tiptoed away. We were about to make it, when I accidentally stepped on a twig, and the crack alerted Sea Crisp.
"Hi you two..." She said with some edge in her voice.
"Well if it isn't sourpuss and the new girl." Added on Pink Pearl.
Bonbon rolled her eyes. "Come on Lyra." She said, while tugging on my hoof, pulling me away from the bullies. But Sea Crisp leaped in front of her, blocking her path. We turned around only to find Pink Pearl on the other side.
"Leave us alone." Bonbon mumbled.
Sea Crisp put her hoof behind her ear. "What was that sourpuss? I couldn't hear you!" Bonbon rolled her eyes a second time. "I said leave us alone!"
Sea Crisp grinned an evil grin. "Make me." She declared.
Bonbon looked ready to burst with anger. Right as she was about to do something she would regret, a grey blur swooped in and pushed Sea Crisp to the ground.
"Run!" Said the blur.
Without thinking, Bonbon and I ran as fast as our little hooves would take us. We only stopped when Pink Pearl and Sea Crisp were completely out of sight.
We took cover behind a tree, were we found the grey blur, only, she wasn't a blur right now, she was,
Derpy hooves?
"Ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!!!" I was totally hyped up. "She was all like, make me. Then you were all like...mad. Then Derpy was all like, whoosh! Then we were all like, RUN!!!-"
Bonbon chuckled. "Looks like someponys excited."
"-And then it was..it was... IT WAS AWESOME!!!" I threw my hooves up in the air and fell down. That's when we all burst out laughing. I was right. That whole thing was overall awesome.

Weeks past. Bonbon and I started officially hanging out. Derpy often tagged along with us. Things were good.
My fall performance was coming up. I was at school, passing out invites to see it.
At lunch time...
Bonbon and Derpy and I were having lunch together as usual. Bonbon said she was defiantly coming to my recital, but Derpy couldn't make it. Something about a doctors appointment or something.
"So...anypony know where Cheerilee has been?" I asked, trying to make conversation. Both fillies shook their heads.
Suddenly, Pinkie Pie, a new student, came racing down the cafeteria. She was throwing envelopes the color of her mane at random fillies and colts. Derpy, Bonbon and I each caught one. I opened mine to find an invitation to a party...that was right after my recital. It was also after Derpy's appointment, according to Derpy. We all decided we were going to go.

Pretty soon the day of my recital rolled around. I was not nervous! Nope not at all...okay I totally was. Especially once I got up on stage. Everypony was starring at me! Bonbon had wished me luck, and Mommy gave me like a million kisses. But even a billion wishes of luck and even a trillion kisses from Mommy couldn't ease my fear. My hooves were sweaty, and my eyes darted back and forth through the rows and rows of ponies. Who were all waiting for me to start.
I was done. I couldn't do it. I was about to completely walk of the stage... until I saw it.
Her smile. I have seen her smile before of course...but not like this. There was joy in her smile, there was hope in her eyes. I could just feel the confidence burning inside me.
Then I started to play.
Later, at Pinkie's party, Bonbon and I were totally cutting a rug. Things were great. Derpy was there too. Life were good once more.
Bonbon and I watched the party at a distance. It was late and we would have to go soon. But before we left, we both agreed we just needed some time alone.
"You were great by the way." Said Bonbon.
"Thanks." I said.
"Well, I guess this is the end." She sighed.
"No." I responded with a smile. "This is the beginning...of something even better."
