Chapters Sweetie Belle looked out of the window of her limo. Trips like these were usually no big whoop. Another day, another concert. But this time was different. For this time, she was singing in Ponyville.
Sweetie Belle imagined the looks on her old friends faces when she arrived at their doorsteps, greeting them. She imagined Applebloom, down at the apple farm, working as an engineer, and Scootaloo, training to become a stunt pony. She could imagine the fun times that they used to have, maybe she could recreate them in the short time that she was there. But there was one pony that she wanted to see especially. Button Mash.
During Sweetie Belle's teen years, she had dated Button Mash.From playing video games to just cuddling on the couch, the two of them had made a pretty good couple in her opinion. But it was all put short when Sweetie had won the Equestria singing competition. She then made her own songs, and started her around the world tour.
Of course, Her and Button Mash had kept in touch. E-mail, messaging, phone calls, why, him and Sweetie had already arranged a date for when she would stop by in Ponyville! On top of Button mash, Sweetie had been keeping in touch with her other close friends and family, also.
That was 6 months ago, now she was finally coming back for her last stop, Ponyville!
An abrupt stop pulled her out her daydreaming."Miss Belle? We've arrived" announced the limo driver. Sweetie stepped out, ready to be greeted by Ponyville, the sights, the sounds. the small town feel... and stepped right into a crowd of fans."Wha.." screams of Sweetie Belle's name filled the air. Sweetie Belle groaned. She should be used to this by now. After all, she was a big star. Luckily, Sweetie Belle's bodygaurd arrived and lead Sweetie Belle to the place that she would be staying. Carousel Boutiqe.
Sweetie knocked on her sister's door. A very flustered looking Rarity answered. as soon as Rarity opened the door, she gathered Sweetie Belle into a hug. "Sweetie! How have you been! I've missed you!" Rarity showered her little sister with questions.
"Okay. okay" Sweetie laughed "I'll answer them all, but can i get settled in first?"
"Of course. You know where your room is!"
"thanks" Sweetie Belle lugged her suitcase up the stairs and swung open the door to her bedroom. For a second she just stood in the doorway. The bed was perfectly made, her sheets of songs sprawled across her desk. It was like she had never left.
After about 30 minutes, the doorbell rang. "I'll get it!" Sweetie Belle yelled to her sister as she ran down the stairs. She already knew who it was. She opened the door. "Button!" Sweetie Belle squealed. Button Mash's face turned bright red when he heard his nickname. "Hey Sweetie," Replied Button Mash "so, what do you want to do?"
"That's the problem" sighed Sweetie Belle
"Huh?"
"Well, with all the fans in town for the concert, I cant really go anywhere without being spotted. So I guess we have to stay in here."
An awkward silence filled the air. This was broken by Button Mash "what about... minecraft and ice-cream?" Sweetie Belle couldn't help but blush. Playing minecraft while eating ice-cream had been their tradition ever since she could remember. " Minecraft and ice-cream it is", she replied with a smile. So that's how Sweetie Belle and Button Mash spent their date. Eating ice-cream and playing minecraft. It may not sound like the most romantic, beautiful, or exciting date, but to Sweetie Belle and Button Mash, it was perfect.
Sweetie Belle was sitting on the couch with Button Mash. She had been thinking about stuff, and it wasn't long before it began to come out of her mouth.
"Button?"
"Yeah?"
"What did you do while i was gone?"
Button Mash paused "To tell you the truth, Sweetie, not much"
"You didn't... go on any other dates, did you?"
Button Mash's widened his eyes with surprise "now why would I do that?"
"It's just... 6 months is a long time to wait for someone, and I was worried... that you would get bored"
Button Mash sat up strait "Sweetie, I would never cheat on you, If that's what you're thinking. Besides, how could I ever give up on someone like you?"
Sweetie Belle smiled "That was cheesy. In a good way."
"Well sweetie, sometimes you just gotta be cheesy"
Sweetie looked at the clock on the wall. Her eyes widened in alarm when she realized that it was 1:00. "Oh no! I'm supposed to be setting up the stage right now!"
"But..."
"I'm sorry Button, but we're going to have to finish this another time."
"That's okay. Hey, maybe I could help you set up the stage?"
"Sure! Let's go!"
Sweetie Belle should've predicted what happened after that. The next day, after Sweetie had eaten her breakfast of muffins (which, she noticed, were a strangely green-ish colour) Derpy delivered the newspaper bright and early. Flip to page 3, and there's a story about Sweetie Belle and Button Mash. a picture of them walking together, holding hands. Sweetie Belle read it over. She laughed when she saw the interviews, things like "I bet they have such romantic dates on the beach."
or "He is probably loaded with cash to get a girl like her" or better yet "He probably buys her tons of expensive jewelery."
Sweetie Belle's phone rang. It was Button Mash. "Have you seen the newspaper yet?"
Sweetie Belle laughed "have you seen the interview section yet?"
"Yep" Button replied
"Quiet honestly I think it's quiet funny:
"Ya, same here"
There was a silence "Are you nervous about your performance today?"
Sweetie Belle paused "No, not really. I mean, I've done so many others, and Ponyville is such a familiar town. Speaking of performance, I should probably start getting ready for it."
"okay, bye"
Sweetie belle put down the phone. She took a deep breath, then went to get ready for her last performance of the tour. Ponyville.
chapter 3 - an unexpected event
To Sweetie Belle's surprise, when she arrived, Rarity was there waiting for her.
"Sweetie! What took you so long? The whole crew is waiting!"
Sweetie Belle groaned "I was held back by the fan mobs. Sometimes I wish that they would just leave me alone"
Rarity opened her mouth "Sweetie, I-" she was abruptly cut short by one of the stage managers yelling Sweetie Belle's name.
"Well, I gotta go. Cheer extra loudly for me!" joked Sweetie. Rarity didn't respond, but just walked off toward the audience area.
huh wondered Sweetie Belle I wonder what's bothering her? she shrugged, and walked off toward her dressing room.
Sweetie was sitting in her dressing room. She had an anxious feeling about this performance. Like something was going to go wrong. She shook her head. What was she thinking? She'd done tons of performances before! But for some reason, this time, she felt... odd. No, literally. Sweetie Belle felt kind of... queasy. The room started to spin. Sweetie Belle put her hand up against her head to steady herself. It didn't help. The last thing she heard was her stage manager telling her that she was on in five, then everything went black.
Sweetie woke up to a beeping noise. A tall figure in a white coat stood above her. When it realized that she was awake, he smiled.
"Ah, i see you've awoken, Sweetie Belle"
It didn't take long for Sweetie to put two and two together.
"Hospital? No no no! This can't happen to me! How did this happen to me?!"
"It appears that you've been... poisoned."
"Poisoned? How?"
"What have you eaten or drank recently?"
Sweetie Belle put her hand on her forehead as she tried to recall the foggy memories.
"Let's see... I woke up, showered, and... oh! I had Muffins for breakfast!"
The doctor looked over his clipboard that he was writing this down on.
" And who, might I ask, made those muffins for you?"
"My sister, Rarity, but she would never intentionally hurt me..." Sweetie's voice trailed off "Would she?"
"Ask her for yourself" The doctor said, sternly.
The door swung open, and there was Rarity.
Sweetie Belle could barely open her mouth too say anything, when Rarity flung herself on top of her.
"Oh Sweetie!" she sobbed "I was so worried about you!" Now Sweetie Belle was confused.
"Excuse me, doctor, can you give me and my sister a minute alone?" The doctor nodded his head respectfully, then walked out of the door. As soon as he left, Sweetie sat up.
"What the heck, sis?!"
"Wha..."
"How dare you!? First you poison me, now you act like you care about me!?"
"I-I... I did it for your own good!"
"Poisoned me?! For my own good?! Pfffft"
"No! You don't understand! If you had gone out on that stage, something... bad would've happened. That's why I put a knockout potion in your muffins!"
Sweetie Belle sat up straighter."What do you mean... bad?"
"Sabotage the stage. So that when you were on, it would all come crashing down on you"
"H-how do you know about this?!" Sweetie Belle demanded "who was going to do it?"
"S-Sweetie. I know about this because overheard her talking about it."
"Who was going to do it?!" Sweetie Belle demanded, shouting now.
Rarity gulped. " Silver Spoon"
After Rarity had told Sweetie Belle that, she left. Sweetie was glad of it. She had much thinking to do. Why would Silver Spoon do such a thing? Sweetie knew that she was horrible, but not to the point that she would want to kill her. She tried to think back to before her big break. Diamond Tiara had left to Manehatten, something about a modeling job. After that, Silver Spoon seemed... quiet. Every time Sweetie had looked at her, she looked sad, lonely even. Sweetie Belle had tried to be friendly to her, inviting her to come eat lunch with her, Scootaloo, and Applebloom. Ever time, though, Silver Spoon had said no, and that she'd rather hang out with a pumpkin than with the "Lamekins". Lamekins. What a stupid word. Maybe... maybe Silver Spoon did it out of jealousy. Not only was Sweetie Belle a huge star, but she also had the three best friends, and best boyfriend, in the world. For a second, Sweetie Belle felt a pang of sympathy. It was quickly replaced by anger, though. How dare she! She could of been killed!
Her train of thought was cut off by the doctor walking into the room. He read some things off of a computer, then he cleared his throat.
"Well, Miss Belle, it looks like you are all good to go."
Thanks goodness Sweetie Belle thought I have some ponies that I want to talk to.
About 30 minutes later, Sweetie Belle was standing outside of Silver Spoon's mansion. She took a deep breath. Come on, you can do this! Sweetie lifted her hand and knocked on the door three times. She was answered by a snooty looking man in a tuxedo.
"Umm... is Silver Spoon there?" Sweetie Belle asked gingerly.The man sighed and rolled his eyes.
"Silver Spoon! You have a guest!"
Sweetie Belle's jaw almost dropped open when she saw Silver Spoon. Wow, She had changed since she last saw her. She no longer wore her glasses, and she had blue streaks in her hair. Sweetie Belle also noted that instead of being shoulder length, he hair was now down to her hips. Must of been that hair growing spell Sweetie Belle thought. What surprised her the most though, was the dress. It was a grey colour. Not the horrible raincloud grey, but more of a shimmery, purpley gray, with hints of blue and pink. It was also knee length. Silver Spoon's eye's immediately narrowed when she saw sweetie Belle.
"Oh hello, Sweetie" She said in a frosty voice.
Sweetie Belle's teeth gritted.
"Only my friends call me that"
Silver spoon smirked "Oh, I'm sorry. It's just, the way you acted before you went on tour suggested that you wanted to be my friend."
Sweetie Belle narrowed her eyes. "Well, after you attempted to kill me, I didn't think that you really liked me that much."
Silver Spoon's smirk disappeared, replaced by a look of confusion. "Kill you?"
"Don't play stupid." Sweetie Belle hissed "You know very well what you did."
"Umm... no, actually, I don't."
Sweetie Belle resisted the urge to slap her. "Really? Because Rarity told me-"
"RARITY?!" Silver Spoon started laughing. "You believe Rarity?!"
"Why shouldn't I?"
"Well, I'm not sure if you've heard, but Rarity hasn't exactly been a little angel while you were gone!"
"Wha-what do you mean?"
Silver Spoon regained her smirk."Well, Rarity was waaaaay behind schedule with her dress making. She had, like, a hundred dresses to make in one night! She thought that she was never going to make it. But remember that spell book that made her all crazy, and turning everything into jewels.?"
"The one that made her magic green? Wasn't that right after the filly festival? That was years ago. What has this got to do with it?"
"I'm not done" Silver Spoon snapped. "Well, anyway, apparently Rarity remembered it too. So she used it to make the dresses."
"Uh-oh"
"Uh-oh is right. After she had made the dresses, she went around Ponyville, making everything jewel encrusted. Worse yet, Once spike snapped her out of it, she didn't even apologize. She just said that it wasn't her fault, and that spike shouldn't of let her have it. After all, he was the one who burped it up."
"Y-you're lying! Rarity would never do something like that and then not apologize!"
Silver Spoon raised an eyebrow. "Really? You can ask all the other people who were here when it happened, and they'll tell you the exact same thing."
Sweetie Belle's hands shook out of anger. "F-fine! I will!"
She marched out of Silver Spoon's house. Silver Spoon watched her leave with a sly smile on her face.
Sweetie belle stormed through Ponyville. Ponies took one glance at her, then decided it was best to stay out of her way. All to soon, Sweetie Belle was at her destination. Sweet Apple Acres. Applejack was standing out front, bucking apples. It didn't take too long for Applejack to notice her.
"Howdy Sweetie! If yer lookin' for Applebloom, she's in the clubhouse, round back."
"Thanks" Sweetie Belle made her way to the clubhouse. Once there, she found Applebloom, nailing some pieces of wood to it. She almost dropped her hammer when she saw Sweetie Belle.
"Sweetie Belle!" She ran over and gave Sweetie Belle a hug "I haven't see ya in a year! Hey, I heard that the show for yesterday was cancelled. What was that all about?"
"Actually, that's kind of what I'm here to talk to you about"
Applebloom released Sweetie Belle, a puzzled look on her face "huh?"
"Applebloom... once I had left... did Rarity go all 'spice up Ponyville' crazy again?"
"Like she did at the foal and filly festival? No... why?"
"I knew it." Sweetie belle hissed "That filthy liar."
Applebloom didn't have time to say anything else, when Sweetie Belle ran off towards Ponyville.
"Umm.. ok." She shrugged, and got back to nailing the wood.
Sweetie Belle slammed open the door to Carousel Boutiqe.
"Rarity! I have a question for you!"
Rarity's head popped up from behind a mannequin. "Ask away!"
Sweetie Belle took a deep breath. "We'll, it's just that... how do I sue someone?"
"Who are you planning on suing?"
"Silver spoon"
"Why?"
"She almost brought a whole stage down on me!"
" Well, you need to be absolutely sure that it wasn't her."
"Who else would it be?"
"I don't know... Button?"
"Button?!"
"It was the first thing that went through my head! Especially considering that he's standing right there"
Rarity nodded her head in Sweetie Belle's direction. Sweetie spun around, and Button was standing behind her.
"Rarity! I was going to sneak up on her!" Button joked. But as Sweetie looked back at Rarity, she saw Button glare at Rarity.
" C'mon, let's go somewhere" Button said, put his arm around Sweetie Belle. As they left, Sweetie Belle looked back at Rarity. She wore a look on her face that looked like... She was scared of something. Sweetie Belle shook her head and looked back toward the direction she was walking in.
"So, where do you want to go?"
"Umm..." Sweetie Belle couldn't get Rarity's look of horror of of her mind. What was that all about? She shook her head again. Whatever it was, she must of just been imagining it.
