Storm of the ages and a new dawn

Fluttershy had planned a picnic for all her friends earlier in the week. When the day of the picnic came and only Twilight and AJ could come. Rarity, RD, and Pinkie Pie each made little dishes for Fluttershy's picnic.

   Rarity made little tea sandwiches, RD made her cloud cake, and pinkie pie made cupcakes. They each dropped off their contributions and apologized for not being able to stay. While they each apologized, no pony noticed Fluttershy's spirit sinking. Finally Twilight and AJ arrived. Expecting to be alone she stood shocked when Twilight asked

   " When does the picnic start?"

  Fluttershy just stood slack jawed for a moment before replying " The picnic starts now."

      Twilight was about to ask where everypony else  was until she saw the sudden shift in her friend's demeanor. So they just began to chat about casual things. The three friends had talked well into the afternoon. Then the weather changed from sunny and blue skies to stormy and gray skies. They helped Fluttershy pick up the picnic and after that they started to go home. While walking a peculiar sound came across Twilight's ears causing her to immediately stop in her tracks. AJ noticed this and stopped as well.

     As they stood still, this time they both heard the cries. While they ran frantically trying to find the source of the crying, it stopped. Now Twilight used a tracing spell to locate the source of crying.  After twenty minutes of searching, they finally found the source. It was a beautiful alicorn colt with a coat of the most beautiful black with a mane the same color. Twlight created a shield spell to protect the colt from being subject to further assault from the elements. Applejack was in charge of carrying the colt to the Ponyville hospital.

When they finally reached the hospital, Twilight cried out at the top of her lungs.

She said" I need a doctor fast"

   When a doctor heard her, he ran as fast as his hooves could carry him. The doctor saw the alicorn colt riding upon Applejack's back, his mouth fell. They quickly got him into a room and got him hooked up to several machines. The sight that befell Twilight and AJ broke their hearts. Twilight stayed by the colt's side at all times.  She fell asleep and was awoken by the sound of the flatline.

Twilight screamed" I need a doctor fast!"

  The doctor heard the cry for help and got there quick. When he saw what happened and called for assistance. Twilight began to cry because of how helpless she felt. For all of her magical gifts, she was unable to help the little colt. Twilight eventually cried herself to sleep only to be awoken by the same sound again. The doctors had the colt moved into the intensive care unit. She moved with the colt to stay by his side. The same process happened over in the ICU as well.

    The sound of Twilight's cries had reached the trees of the everfree forest and was passed along to Zecora. Zecora, the local zebrican shaman began to mix special herbs to make a healing potion for the sick colt.  As she had finished, she heard that while rescuing the colt, Twilight herself was injured as well. After thirty minutes to get to the hospital and find the colt and Twilight, she walked in.

   Zecora spoke in her usual rhyme" Twilight my dear, there's no need to fear. Medicine I have for the colt, but beware it will give him a jolt."

Twilight amazed that she knew about the situation asked" How did you know about the colt?"

  Zecora replied" The Everfree heard your pain and I'll be plain the forest said you were in need of help."

Twilight stood gaurd as the medicine began to take affect. Curious as to what went into the medicine, Twilight made a note to ask Zecora the next time they met. As she was sleeping, the colt woke from his feverish sleep. Twilight woke at dawn to find that the colt had nestled beside her as she slept on the bed next to him. He woke and the first thing the colt said was" Mommy". Twilight called for a doctor to come and check on the colt. As they did several tests, more things began to pop out. The colt was abused and left to die in the forest. The doctor didn't have the heart to tell Twilight what he found. But as the days went by, the colt seemed to be getting stronger.  By the end of the second week of the colt being in the hospital,  the doctor said that he should be able to leave in the middle of next week.

    Questions stormed Twilight's curious mind. As she thought about how to ask her questions, the colt awoke with a fright. Trying her best to calm him down, she began to sing a lullaby. When the lullaby ended, Twilight noticed that her singing had drawn a crowd. Embarrassed, she smiled sheepishly.
