Previous ChapterNext Chapter

Leon is walking back to Sweet Apple Acres on a road surround by grass and bushes. He is grumbling about not having his scroll case.

Complaining under his breath Leon cried, “Great! I’m walking in Ponyville without magic or my ax.”

He pulls out a strange looking dagger from his front shirt pocket.

“At least I have my dragon forged dagger… or least that’s what that weapon Sellspony said it was.”

As Leon walks a few more steps, an arrow flies through the air and hits him on the head. Leon collapses down on the ground and his mask beings to turn into ice.

Within moments, a pony walks up to him, and investigates Leon’s body.

The pony smiles and in excitement, “I got him, I did something those great hunters couldn't do. I thought that ice arrow would have gotten more of…”

Leon jumps on the unsuspecting pony, and grabs her with a dagger near her throat.

“Ah! A zombie!”, yelled the confused pony.

Leon chuckles, “For an upcoming great hunter, you fell for the easiest trick for survival.”

“How did you…?”

Leon continued, “I saw you in Monster Fighters Monthly. The Ice Dancer, right? A Pegasus, who likes the cold, is a Silver Medal Hoof Skater, and an ice archer who helped a frontier town ice a Dragon. I believe that’s what you have said in your article, correct?”

Ice Dancer asks in a nervous tone, “How come you’re talking, instead of killing me?”

“If we weren’t here in Ponyville’s border, you would be a mess on the ground. I heard the stories of what happens here, if you don’t play by the rules. There are laws defending Ponies, Breezies, and Woodland creatures, but none for my kind. Hell, my kind are prized trophies for you scum, since there are ‘very’ few of us.”

“You are as tricky as the other one in Rainbow Falls, with his invisible tricks and being untouchable. I never had a chance to touch him or her… I not too sure, to be honest.”

Leon gets a surprised look on his face, and eases his arm with the dagger and stares at it. “I can do that?”

Ice Dancer tries to attack Leon, but he reflects the attack and counters it by getting on the pony’s back and choke-holding her.

Leon says as he struggles to stay on Ice Dancer’s back, “Just to make sure you don't try to kill me, as I’m walking out of here.”

Leon drops his dagger, and presses down hard with his other hand, on certain parts of her skull.

Within moments, Ice Dancer’s eyes close and her body is motionless. Leon checks her snout to make that she is still alive. Warm air comes out of her nose and Leon sighs in relief. He rolls her body off the road, picks up his dagger and makes run for it.

After half a mile, Leon sees a mounted ice bow pointing to the street. He goes up to the bow, cuts it in half and breaks the nearby arrows with his boots. Leon remembers his ice covered mask, and tries to removes it. But, he was unsuccessful.

After a couple of attempts, Leon gives up on trying to remove the mask himself and rushes to Sweet Apple Acres, before the ice freezes his mouth and the rest of his head..
