Huffing and puffing, Vinyl Scratch raced through the Everfree Forest. She had just woken up here a while ago, and had no clue how she got here. She did know, however, that the Everfree Forest was home to the most blood thirsty and deadly creatures in Equestria.
All Vinyl was thinking about right now was running at full speed. It would have been easier if she could teleport, but not every unicorn knew that spell.
There was more than just the fact that the Everfree Forest housed dangerous creatures, though, but also because Vinyl knew somepony was chasing her. Her worst fear was being chased, especially if that somepony chasing her didn't say anything. If they didn't say anything, then how would she know if it was somepony she knew by hearing their voice?
Hoof stamping could be heard clearly behind Vinyl Scratch's tail. Tears were flying from her eyes and slightly messing up her sunglasses' lenses. She did not care right now, though, all she cared about was fleeing for her life.
Finally, Vinyl's chaser spoke:
"Get back here! You cannot run away from me!"
"No! Stay away!" Vinyl cried out.
Vinyl really had not the slightest idea whom was chasing her, but she did not care; all she knew is that this pony could very well kill her, no matter who it was.
No! Please let me be free! Please let me go home to Octavia! She's probably worried sick about me! Vinyl thought.
Still the chaser was following Vinyl, but this time, she was gaining. Realizing that she needed a boost, she spread open her pegasus wings and flew above a shocked and distraught Vinyl Scratch. Vinyl ran faster and lost it.
"NO!! PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!!" she yelled upon seeing her chaser wielding a wickedly sharp knife.
The chaser paid no heed, and landed on top of Vinyl, knocking her to the ground. The DG mare whimpered and struggled but her chaser was incredibly strong.
"You'll make this much easier for all of us if you just hold still," the chaser growled.
Vinyl thrashed and tried to use her magic to pry the crazed mare off of her back, but this did not work.
"I'll never cooperate! I won't die!" she insisted.
"Is that so?" the chaser asked.
Before Vinyl knew it, the knife her chaser had was stabbed into her neck. Blood trickled onto the floor of the Everfree Forest. Vinyl Scratch choked and sobbed, tears streaming down her face and blurring her glasses' lenses.
Vinyl realized that she could not scream as she slowly felt the life leak out of her neck. Her chaser stood over top of her and watched. She then trotted over to the front of Vinyl's face. Vinyl looked up at her, and the last thing she saw was her now killer's horrible smile that stretched across her entire face.
That was when Vinyl Scratch blacked out forever.
Octavia paced back and forth nervously through the living room of her's and Vinyl Scratch's house that they shared. Vinyl had promised that she would be home by about 10:00PM, and it was 11:23PM already. Vinyl would never be late for anything.
"Oh, Octavia, you're worrying yourself too much. Everypony is late for something at some point in their lives," Tavi told herself in an attempt to clam herself down.
When this didn't work, Octavia decided to get a glass of tea, which always relaxed her nerves after a hard day. She went into the kitchen of the house and did that. Though she wished that Vinyl were here; she had never been a pony to like solitude.
When Tavi finished her tea, she felt sleepy.
Maybe I should just go to bed, and I'll wake up to Vinyl's face, and everything will be fine she thought.
So she went upstairs and into the bedroom. She jumped into bed and fell asleep quickly.
As she fell deeper into sleep, the killer outside was dragging a now dead Vinyl in a burlap sack to Octavia and Vinyl's house, and left the bag right outside the front door.
"I wonder who's next?" the killer said to herself.
She got out a list and smiled evilly upon reading the next name:
Derpy Hooves.
Octavia awoke and blinked her dry eyes. They popped open in fright when they saw an absent Vinyl. Tavi leapt out of bed, now in full panic mode.
"Vinyl! Where are you?!" Octavia called.
Vinyl Scratch did not respond. Just the sounds of the house were present. Octavia looked everywhere beginning to become hysterical. She didn't bother to fix up her bedhead; she just opened her front door to get help, but found a large burlap sack lying in the way.
Curious, Tavi dragged it inside, because what if it somehow had answers? Nopony would just leave a burlap sack laying around for no reason. However, Octavia only took one glimpse at what was inside and instantly regretted looking.
The slightly rotted corpse of Vinyl Scratch lay inside the bag. Her tongue appeared gray in color and hung limply from, her open mouth. Her used to be bright blue spiked mane was now rough and stiff. Her glasses had fallen off of her eyes, revealing her eyes to be nothing but lifeless gray irises staring blindly at the top of the bag she was in.
Tears instantly flooded Tavi's eyes, and her stomach churned. She rushed to the bathroom just in time for the vomit to come out. She felt sick, heartbroken, and indignant as she retched. When she finished, she hurried back to the now lifeless Vinyl Scratch.
"V-Vinyl? Please say s-something," Tavi begged as she felt more tears.
She touched Vinyl's face, and it felt cold, much to her dismay. She just kept telling herself over and over again that this was just a horrible nightmare, and it would all end; Vinyl would be alive and booming dubstep music throughout the house.
But this was not a nightmare, it was all reality. Tavi tried telling herself that it wasn't, but it was.
"Vinyl! Speak to me! VINYL!!" Octavia shouted.
Octavia had to tell herself the truth: Vinyl was dead.
Then Tavi dropped to the floor and cried, letting lose shouts of pain an anger as well. She kept sniveling from the lost of her marefriend. Sure, she could be selfish at times, but all in all, Vinyl was a great mare with great potential.
Even after a couple of hours, Octavia was still weeping. She could not stop, not unless Vinyl would come back and assure that she was okay.
Meanwhile, the killer was stalking Derpy Hooves as she made a morning newspaper route.
Derpy Hooves was flying at top speed, having dropped her bag of letters. The killer had cornered her at one point and had a knife. Instinct had kicked into the mailmare, and she flew off.
The sound of flapping wings were heard clearly behind Derpy's tail. Derpy focused on nothing else but getting to safety. She flew to her house and burst through her door. She locked the door without hesitation.
Dinky trotted into the living room to see what all of the ruckus was about. Derpy was panting heavily from exhaustion and fear.
"Mommy, what happened?" Dinky asked with concern.
"Dinky, whatever you do, do not go near this door! Just stay put there while I call the cops!" Derpy said.
Dinky's ears fell.
"Mommy, you're really starting to scare me," she said.
"Listen, Muffin, there's...uuhh...a killer pony outside that was just chasing me! I don't want either of us getting hurt!" Derpy said flustered.
Dinky was now frightened. Derpy hurried over to her and wrapped a wing around her.
"Don't worry, my little muffin, everything will be just fine," Derpy assured her now shivering foul.
Dinky still wasn't sure, but nodded.
WHAM!!
A loud crash rang out throughout Derpy's house. Somepony or something had just run into or had been thrown against the front door. Derpy refused to answer the door, though, because what if that was the pony chasing her before?
Although, whoever was at the door could have been here to help. Derpy got up and told Dinky to stay put. When Derpy opened her door, she was knocked off of her hooves and onto her back as somepony flew inside at top speed.
Dazed, Derpy just heard the shriek of Dinky. Derpy shot off of the ground and looked up at who just flew inside.
A pony wearing an ink black cloak with a hood was standing on top of a struggling Dinky. With a yelp, Derpy flew forward to rescue her daughter. The pony, or the killer, simply reared up and bucked Derpy with immense strength. Derpy sailed into the wall and hit the floor.
Moaning in pain, Derpy woke up just in time to see Dinky get stabbed in the chest. Dinky wailed in pain and fear.
"So you'll play loudly, huh?" the killer asked with fire in her eyes.
Derpy tried getting up, but her back screamed in agony from hitting the wall.
The killer managed to get a hold of Dinky's tongue and cut it out of her mouth. Dinky could no longer scream, but gurgle and sputter as blood filled her mouth like a bathtub with its nozzle turned on.
"YOU DON'T LAY ANOTHER HOOF ON DINKY!! I'LL KILL YOU, YOU MANIAC!!" Derpy shouted at the top of her lungs.
The mailmare spread open her wings and lunged at the killer pony, knocking her to the ground. The two wrestled on the ground as Derpy punched the killer several times. Derpy was also quite strong for a pegasus.
However, the war soon ended when the killer shoved Derpy off of her and attempted to stab her in the throat. The mailmare was not going to die anytime soon, however, so she dodged the killer's aim. The killer instead shoved the knife into Derpy's back. Derpy howled in rage and kicked the killer in the head, knocking her unconscious.
After that, the killer lay limp on Derpy's floor. Derpy panted heavily again. She carefully pulled the sharp knife out of her back, sending a river of blood to flow out of the wound it made.
Ignoring the blood flow, Derpy slowly advanced towards Dinky still lying on the ground, but now she emitted no sound.
"D-Dinky?" Derpy stammered as her eyes quickly filled with tears.
Dinky did not reply, and instead continued laying completely still and silent. Blood was leaking out of the wound in her throat and out of her mouth. Derpy gingerly lay a hoof on Dinky's chest, but froze when she felt no heartbeat.
"Dinky, p-please s-speak to m-me," Derpy begged with her voice cracking.
But it was hopeless; Dinky was dead. Derpy sniffled and wrapped both arms around her daughter and embraced her tightly.
"Y-you're okay now, m-my little m-muffin. J-just rest now," the mailmare stuttered with her tears finally flowing freely down her gray cheeks.
As Derpy hugged Dinky and wept, the killer moaned quietly from a headache as she woke up. She silently drew her knife and jumped on top of Derpy. Derpy barely had time to react as the killer finally stabbed her in the throat, choking off her air supply and sending blood spraying in all directions.
Derpy desperately tried to catch any breath, but could not as blood continued to waterfall out of her throat and onto her floor. Finally, she fell down with a THUMP! onto the floor. A large pool of blood grew bigger around her as time passed.
The killer smiled that same evil-stretched-across-the-face smile. She tucked her knife away in a pocket of her cloak. Then she exited Derpy's house and flew away to go find her next victim.
