Rainbow's Big Day

It was a warm August day in Canterlot, the sun was shining, and everypony was at peace. There were auditions for the Wonderbolts and Rainbow Dash could NOT miss it, though she didn't want to waste time and money for the train so she flew, not the best idea she ever had. She eventually got there and went to the yard it was held. "Next!" called Celestia, the Princess of Equestia. She was the judge for the Wonderbolts auditions, with the two other Wonderbolts, Spitfire and Soarin.

Rainbow Dash walked up to the judges table. "Name," said Spitfire.

"Rainbow Dash!" Rainbow stated with pride.

"Rainbow Dash eh? You're that girl who saved us from incoming doom." Spitfire said, looking at Rainbow dash who was very nervous.

How does she still remember that? Thought Rainbow. It happened 3 years ago! "Yes yes thats me alright!" Rainbow said with a nervous but prideful voice. She was nervous mostly because not only the Wonderbolts are judging this, but the Princess of Equestia!

"Next!" yelled Celestia.

"What?" asked Rainbow.

"Um, your highness, you shouldn't be so quick to judge!" said Soarin, he and Spitfire both knew that Celestia didn't like Rainbow Dash all that much but that's ridiculous! Rainbow looked very nervous at her highness.

"Alright," Started Celestia in a very bored voice. "Lets just get this over with." By the tone of her voice, Rainbow knew this wasn't going to turn out well but she had to try. It's better to try then to not at all, right? Rainbow chuckles and stands up on her to hind legs, only to fly up high in the sky. She got up at least one hundred feet in the air and flew straight down at the highest speed she could possibly get to and did her most famous move, the Sonic Rainboom! Sadly, she landed face first and destroyed Celestia's castle. Owwww.. She thought. She grabbed her head and got up from the debris of the castle. Where did that castle even come from? Everypony but Celestia clapped their hooves, Tia was more annoyed and angered than happy.

"I oughta banish you to the sun after that! But seventy-five percent of ponys I send there survive." Tia said, in a very angered voice.

"Heh, sorry, I'll pay for all of that, no matter how long it takes!" Rainbow said in drunk kind of way. She wobbled around for awhile before colapsing right infront of the sun princess.

Celestia put her front right hoof under Rainbow's chin and lifted her head up. "Listen here and listen well," Whispered Celestia in a very serious voice, "As long as I'm still alive I will make sure you will NEVER become a Wonderbolt, and nothing will change my mind. Do you hear me Rainbow Dash? NEV-ER!" She then pushed her face into the dirt, and walked away.

Soarin rushed over to Rainbow Dash and wiped the dirt from her face. "Are you okay?" He asked, worried about her.

She had to keep her cool, she couldn't let Soarin of all ponies to see her in tears. She gets up and shakes her head, holding back the tears. "Ye-yeah," studdered Rainbow Dash. "I'll be fine." She then flew away a fair distance from the grounds, and bawled when she was sure nobody would see or hear her. Never? Rainbow Dash asked herself, I can't believe she said that, just because of one accident. I mean, it was her castle, but she can rebuild it! She's.. she's a princess, money isn't a problem for her. I should of never joined, I should of never even tried, I should of known that this would of happened. I should just end it, my dreams will never come true... Rainbow Dash finnally got to her home.

She went over to her kitchen and picked up a knife, she then started to cut off her wings, crying in pain. "If I don't have wings then my conscious won't save me." She then threw her wings to the floor and picked up a video camera. "Hello anypony who can get up here, this is my will. I give my 20% cooler T-shirt to Fluttershy. She needs it, like seriously." She chuckles to her self and wipes away more tears. "Twlight, I give you all my books, even though most got destroyed by Tank." She looks over at the turtle flying around and bumping into things. I'm gonna miss him. She sighs and continues. "I give Tank to Pinkie Pie, take good care of him, Pinkie.." I know you will, you're the best at it. "Rarity I give you my uh, diamond locater?" Do I even have that? "And last but not least Applejack, I give you a picture to remember me by." She tears up more. Heheh, I guess that ends our childish rivalary, AJ.

She then whispered, "This is all because of Celestia, she said I could never join the Wonderbolts." She started to cry harder, sobbing every so often. "Why, why would she say tha-" She noticed the red light was still on and wiped her tears. "Wait is this still on?" She then hit the stop recording button. She then walked outside, "Well, here goes nothing." Rainbow dash jumped off her house cloud, and let her mind dream...

She then appeared in a weird black space. Where am I? Is this heaven? She asked herself. She walked around for a while before seeing Twlight Sparkle in her Library.

"Do you think she's going to be okay?" Asked Twlight looking down at- Wait is that... me? Rainbow asked herself, looking at her wingless, lifeless body infront of Twlight.

"I really dont't know, I'm not a medical doctor Twlight!" Said the Doctor. "I don't even HAVE a medical degree! I sell clocks for a living!" He chuckled when he said that, then sighed.

"I-I know... But, I.. I had to call SOMEONE! I-I just... I.." Replied Twlight, almost sobbing and breaking into tears.

"Well, I assume she should be fine. She has a pulse. I patched up her sides so she couldn't bleed out anymore." The Doctor said. "Did you find her like this?"

"I didn't find her, Fluttershy did.. Sh-She is going to be okay.. right?" Twlight said, very worried.

"Yes she should! But I say call a real doctor, Twilight! He might have to preform surgery." He sighs and looks down at the almost pale pony, breathing softly on the round table.

I'm.. I'm not dead? Rainbow asked herself, that was the only question she could ask. I can't believe that I did this to my friends, I didn't think about them.. how much it would hurt them... She bursts out in tears again.

A few hours before

Fluttershy was going to visit Rainbow Dash to see how Tank was holding up. It's not like she didn't have confidence in her friend it's just that she.. Okay, maybe she didn't have that much confidence in her friend, but it's always good to know. She felt he would get lost or something. "Rainbow Daash?" Fluttershy yelled in a still very quiet voice.She flew around to her house when she noticed her about to jump. She's, Fluttershy studdered She's probably just doing one of her tr-wait... she noticed that Rainbow's wings were gone WHERE ARE HER WINGS?! Rainbow then jumped off her cloud house and fainted."RAINBOW NO!" Fluttershy yelled flying off and saving Rainbow right before she met her doom. She saw her bloody sides and considered to take care of her.

Fluttershy hugged Rainbow knowing how lucky she was to catch Rainbow Dash. She flew home as quickly as she could knowing that Rainbow Dash could just stop breathing at any second. She blasted open her door with her hind hooves and took Rainbow to her nursery. She looked for something to close Rainbows gaping wounds, she found a pin and needle she used for knitting blankets for poor defenseless animals. "Sorry Rainbow Dash, I know this is going to hurt." She whispered to Rainbow's limp body. She starting sowing the place where her wings once were. After the painful sowing she put her hoof on her friends chest not thinking about how wrong it could of been.

She felt two slow, but normal heart beats and sighed. "Phew, she's still alive." Fluttershy said before taking her hoof off her friend's chest. She then made sure that everything else about Rainbow was normal. Besides her wings, she seems okay. I need to tell everypony else, and to get Rainbow to a hospital. Angel walked up to Fluttershy and pulled on her mane. "Not now Angel." Fluttershy said with a tint of annoyance in her voice. Angel's stomache rumbled and he pulled on Fluttershy's mane again. Fluttershy turned around to face her pet bunny. Angel pointed to his stomach to show he was hungry. "Alright Angel, i'll feed you. After I feed you I'll be leaving okay?" Fluttershy said with still a bit of annoyance in her voice. Angel nodded and hopped over to the kitchen. That's the nicest I've seen Angel. A bowl full of nothing hit her in the face. She growled and stared at Angel. Good things can't always last, I suppose.

After feeding Angel, well TRYING to feed him Fluttershy left out the door pulling Rainbow Dash on a cart. She noticed many ponies giving Rainbow a weird eye, just assuming she's asleep and not noticing her absent wings. Fluttershy finally pulled Rainbow Dash into a hospital very worried about Rainbow's well being. All it took was one look at Rainbow and the doctor knew something was off. He rushed Rainbow into a hospital room and checked her out. Fluttershy sat in the waiting room very impaitently, walking around nervously and even bouncing a ball around. That didn't end well as most times she hit other ponies faces. "Oh, sorry about that." Fluttershy said each time giving them one of her very cutest faces.

The other main 4 rushed in to the hospital's waiting room. "We came as quickly as we heard the news," Said Twlight sliding in, "What happened?"

"Well," Fluttershy started with a few tears falling down from her eyes. "I was going to see Rainbow Dash and I noticed her about to jump from her house." She started crying as she remembered the sad moment. "I didn't even know, I thought she was stretching.. actually I didn't know what I expected.. then I noticed her wings were cut off..." She sobbed and notice Pinkie cried too.

"Wait a gosh darn second, why'd she cut off her wings?" Applejack, a bit confused.

"Well Applejack, for Pegsi, they consciously save their selves by flying up, so nothing horrid can happen. They aren't even taught this, it's just something that they do without even noticing. She must of only cut off her wings because she knew that she would save herself." Twlight replied, smiling at the knowlage she knew.

Pinkie pie popped behind the doctor when he came in to the waiting room. She tapped his shoulder and could barely talk. She managed to say something to him, although it was mostly sobbed and garbled. "Tell it to me straight Doctor, is she going to live?" Pinkie says in tears, her hair suddenly deflated.

"Yes, she is alive, and will be well. But she's in a coma, and it looks like she needs surgery for her wings... it'll be awhile before she's all well and herself again." He sighs and turns to Fluttershy, but is interrupted before he can talk to her.

"You just said that she was going to live!" Pinkie yelled in his face.

"She is going to live. But... only if she wakes up. If she can't wake up in the next month or so, her body will shut down. Her body isn't used to staying like a potatoe like this. It needs to be active.. and if it isn't, she'll end up dying." He then looks at Fluttershy. "Do you know where her wings are?"

"...They're probably in her house. I-I'll go get them." She then runs off to find them. She flies to Dashie's house and enters it. Wait.. is that a camera? She thinks, looking towards the camera sitting on the table. She turns it on and looks at the video.

What!? C-Celestia.. No.. She grabs her wings and the camera and flys off to the hospital. Fluttershy enters and looks at everybody else in disbelief.

"What..?" Twilight asks.

Fluttershy just gives Twilight the camera. Twilight looks at the camera and starts to bawl up herself. She then drops the camera and runs off, and it just so happens Celestia's in town today.

Twilight walks up to the princess, looking at her in anger. "Well hello my faithful student." Tia says, smirking.

"I know what you did, Celestia.." She says to the princess. "You ticked her off, you almost KILLED Rainbow Dash!"

"Whatever do you mean?"

"WHAT DO YOU MEAN 'whatever do you mean'????? YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID, CELESTIA!"

"Riiiiight, I'll apologize ri-"

"Apologies AREN'T GOING TO FUCKING CUT IT!"

"Twilight, language!"

"Language...? LANGUAGE?! YOU ALMOST KILL MY FRIEND AND YOU'RE TALKING TO ME ABOUT LANGUAGE!?!?!" She stomps her hoof down.

"That's no way a faithful student should be talking to your teacher-"

"Well I don't want to be your faithful student, if THIS IS WHAT YOU DO TO YOUR STUDENT'S FRIENDS!! YOU HAD NO, RIGHT TO DO THAT, NO MATTER WHAT SHE DID OR SAID! YOU ALMOST KILLED HER! DO YOU EVEN CARE?! DO YOU EVEN CARE THAT SHE ALMOST DIED?!"

"To tell the truth, I don't. I wish she could of finished the job, instead of getting saved by your stupid friend-"

"NOW YOU'RE CALLING THEM STUPID!? IF ANYONE, AND I, MEAN, ANYONE IS THE STUPID ONE HERE, IT, IS, YOU, CELESTIA!” She mutters under her breathe, “I hate you..”

“What was that, Twilight?”

“I SAID THAT I, HATE, YOU! I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU!!” She then destroys Celestia’s cart and runs off.

Months later.

Rainbow wakes up, with her wings reattached and everything. She shakes her head and looks around to see all of her friends around her. “..Guys..?”

“RAINBOW DASH!” They all chant, hugging her and smiling and crying.

“Hey, easy there!”

They let go of her and look at her. Fluttershy is the first one to speak up. “We were all so worried about you! We all stayed by your side to make sure you would be okay!”

“The doctor had ta sew yer wings on, and luckily Fluttershy found ‘em!” Applejack says

“She also found your will on camera..” Twilight says, looking down in shame. She then looks at Rainbow Dash again. “How come you didn’t tell anyone Celestia did that?”

“...Because.. You guys would of thought I was lying.” Twiligt tries to retort but Rainbow interrupts her. “And don’t say you wouldn’t have, I know you would. You all trust Celestia too much..”

“Not anymore.” Twilight replies.

“Twilight argued with Celestia about what happened, and Celestia disbanded her as being her student..” Flutters says.

“Oh...” Rainbow sighs. “So.. You’re not learning magic anymore?”

“I am..” Twilight starts. “It’s just that.. she took Spike away..”

“WHAT?!” Rainbow exclaims. Owwww... She thinks. “Why would she do such a thing?!”

“I... I don’t know..”

The doctor comes in and looks at Rainbow. “Hello Rainbow.” He says.

“Oh hey doctor! So, can I fly?” Rainbow asks

“Not yet, your wings need some healing. In a week or so return to me so I give them an inspection.” He says, giving her a date and time on a slip of paper. “But for now, you can go. You’ll have to stay with somebody, though.”

“Oooh! Oooh! Can she stay with me?” Fluttershy asks.

“Sure.” He says, then exits.

“You know he didn’t seem to really care..” Twilight says, observing him walk away.

“Who cares? Aslong as ‘m okay, right?” Rainbow says, chuckling a bit.

Twilight chuckles as well and nods. “I guess so.”

Rainbow got up and stretched out her body before walking again. She then walks with Fluttershy to her cottage. Over the course of a few weeks, Rainbow and Fluttershy’s bond as friends got bigger, and eventually everything worked out.
