Twister groaned as light filtered into the room, frowning as his sleep was interrupted, but then his frown instantly changed as a soft voice spoke. "Three...two...one" a quick sound of small feet running filled the room as a smaller voice filled the air.
"Daddy!" A small girl cried as she dove head first into the bed. But was caught mid air by Twister.
"To slow today, Stardust" Twister said hugging his daughter and kissing her forehead, getting a small smile from Celestia.
"Good morning my love." She said, but something felt off, he looked over to Celestia who, along with the world, vanished. He then saw the dark figures standing over Celestia, his daughter, all the while he couldn't move. he heard ~her~ laughing. He could feel tears in his eyes, nothing else, then it dawned on him, Tia's due date was months away, then heard a soft an angelic voice, his loves voice, his dream started to fade.
His eyes shot open and he grabbed onto Celestia, this was the tenth night in a row, every since they learned Celestia was having a girl. Twister refused to tell her the dream the first few nights, but after the forth, he conceded and told her. Celestia spoke up and rubbed Twisters ears "same dream again love?" She asked hugging her husband close.
Twister only nodded and felt a shiver run up his spine. Every since he learned of a unicorn known as Sombra, and his demise, these dreams have been happening. More and more. "Yes, Sunshine, and each night they get worse" using his horn he made clothing appear on his body. His royal garb looked like a mix of solar and lunar guards. His chest plate was gold as was the stripes down the side of his pants. The his shirt and pants resembled a midnight blue.
"Where are you going at this late hour?" Celestia asked a little concerned. She saw Twister look to her stomach, then back away from her.
"To the library, then im going out for...a stroll...I need to learn something." He said picking up a sword, he had became very strong with his magic, yet, he still carried a sword. She had a worried expression "don't worry my love" he said kissing her "I will return." And with that he left the bed chambers and looked at the two guards "keep alert" he said strolling down the hallway.
He felt an un easy presence, one he was all to familiar with. He shook the feeling as he entered the library and started pouring over document after document. Finding nothing his horn lit up and he disappeared with a blinding light.
-The Crystal Empire-
Two guards stood outside the doors the the Crystal Castle, one stretched his wings while the other yawned. But both snapped to attention when they saw a shadowy figure with glowing blue eyes appear before them. Both aimed their spears. "Halt!" One shouted.
"Who goes there" said the other.
Without a word but seeing the moon falling to the horizon, his horn lit up up and he raised the sun with ease. This was normally Celestia's job, but her doctor recommended against it, for the time being. Both guards jump back seeing the grey alicorn before them. "M'lord" both bowed instantly. "We are both greatly sorry for raising arms against you" they said not looking up.
"Stand, you did well against a possible threat. Now send word to Shining Armor, I have an urgent matter of which I must speak with him" Twister said as he stepped into the great hall.
-the bed chambers of Princess Cadance and Shining Armor-
Giggling and laughing was heard from the room, but it did not last. A few loud knocks and the doors flung open as a guard ran in. "M'lord Shining Armor, the king request your presence, he said it was an urgent mater."
Shining armor nodded and he and Cadance both stood quickly and got dressed. Shining felt the same uneasy presence crawl up his spin that has been going on since Sombra's fall. Why would his former guard, now king, demand a meeting, it was strange.
"What's the matter shiny?" Asked Cadance looking over to her husband. She was fully dressed in her usual garb and Shining was in his armor.
Looking over to the pink mare with a worried look "hopefully, nothing."
-In the throne room-
"Morning Cadance, how are you doing" Twister said with a faux smile, but noticed she saw through it. "May I ask you to leave? Shining and I need to discuss something, private." He saw her nod and leave "as for you guards, stay with the princess" Twister demanded, the authority in his voice caught Shining off guard.
"So I take it coffee and doughnuts are not why your here?" Shining said trying to lighten the situation, it did get Twister to chuckle. "So, what is going on, I know something's up."
"You felt it haven't you?" Twister said looking out over the kingdom. "Or, rather her, since Sombra was destroyed" he looked over to Shining Armor and saw him nod. "I don't like this coincidence, like some darker foe is behind it."
Shining stood next to Twister as the two looked out over the crystal empire. "Is there anything you need me to do?" Shining asked as he looked out over the kingdom.
"Keep Cadance safe, and look for any and all information on the era of the empire with Sombra, and information on Sombra." Twister said "I'll stay in contact," stepping out to where Cadance was and smiled at her. "I'll see you later Cadance, take care." He said forcing a faux smile.
Once outside took to flight "just one more stop." He said flying toward Ponyville.
-the bad lands-
Chrysalis and Sombra sat at a table laughing with delight as they looked at each other "so, little Celestia thinks we are dead? What a fool" Chrysalis said chuckling.
Sombra smiled "I cannot wait to see her crawl and suffer" he then let out an evil laugh "I will see hear, and her sisters head upon a pike."
Chrysalis smiled, "soon, my love, soon."

I enjoyed writing the original and kinda wanted to continue it, with a few request for more talking me into it. Warning to the fans of this, the story will be going to a darker place. I don't expect tears, just letting you know.

Chapter Two: A Enemy Emerges
An Enemy Emerges
Landing near Ponyville, Twister stretched as the flight was rather long but having been born a pegasi, it wasnt too difficult. The recently accented alicorn looked up at the sky and smiled as the sun was due to for the day as it begun to lay on the horizon. Smiling he set the sun for his sister in law to start the night.
Twister walked into the town and noticed a gathering, but more so his wife and a few delegates watching a purple unicorn, one Twister recognized as Celestia's student, Twilight Sparkle. And also a blue furred unicorn mare with a white mane and tale, who wore lavender dress and cape, who was using her magic to launch fireworks. The blue mare ran off after shouting her name.
And soon the demonstration ended with Celestia getting into a carriage with the other delegates and all the ponies went to their homes. His horn glowing, Twister teleported to the town library, which he knew to be the home if Twilight Sparkle's home. Sitting on a chair and levitating a book from the shelves and started reading as he waited for Twilight to walk in.
A owl landed on his shoulder with a hoot. "We'll hi there, what's your name little one?" Twister smiled lighting up his horn, casting a spell to understand animals.
"Hoot" -'owl-licous' the owl said.
"Owl-licous, that sounds kingly, no doubt a great name" Twister said with much flattery.
"Hoo hoo!" -'thank you kindly'- owl-licous said fluffing his feathers. "Hoo hoo?" -'who are you?'- the owl asked.
"I'm king Twister Winds" the alicorn said holding out a hand, which the owl only looked at. Then at the door as it opened and his owner walked in.
"Man I am tired.." Twilight started then stopped dead in her tracks at the sight of the king. "Your majesty!? To what do I owe this honor?" She said as she started to bow.
"There is no need for that, Twilight Sparkle, I only need to ask you a few questions. Concerning the defeat of the unicorn king, Sombra." Twister said levitating the book back and a chair to in front of him. "Please, sit."
The unicorn mare did as asked "well, he was defeated by the return of the Crystal Heart." She said "and there was no trace left of him."
"I understand he had tried to enter the Crystal Kingdom, but was stopped by a spell Princess Cadence had cast, but how did he get into the empire while the shield was up?" Twister asked making twilight put a finger on her chin.
"Well, I've been studying that a powerful enough unicorn can control their magic even if their horn had been severed. So possibly his horn was cut off by Cadences shield and got in that way?" She said with a light smile.
"Was there ever any remains of him found besides his armor?" Twister asked leaning forward, making Owl-licous fly to his perch. The alicorn looked Twilight in the eyes "anything at all?"
Twilights face turned red from how close he got, now seeing his bright blue eyes. "No, non your highness!" She said blushing.
"Alight, I want you to look into this, start by re-researching horn biology of dark magic wielders." Twister said standing, "report directly to me with your findings." He felt the same dark presence climb up his spine. "I'm sorry to have just showed up, but I needed to talk with you. Now I must take my leave."
"It was a pleasure to get to talk to you." Twilight said as stood.
"The pleasure was all mine." Twister said as he disappeared in a flash.
-The Royal Bed Chambers-
Sighing and feeling panicky Celestia leaned back against her pillows set up like a chair. "Where is he?!" she said right as a flash of light illuminated the room and Twister appeared and fell onto the bed with a loud sigh "There you are! Where have you been?!" She said using her magic to pull him close into a hug.
"I had to go find out some things." He said quietly then kissed her deeply. "I think I was worried about nothing" He said giving Celestia a reassuring hug.
"Your a terrible liar" Celestia said with a coy grin. "Now spill." She felt him trembling and kissed his forehead just below his horn, while she started to massage his wings.
"I think there is a threat arising against Equestria" Twister said looking up at her "and I am worried."
"Why is that my love?" Celestia asked while cutely tilting her head.
"It's about Chyrsalis, I think she is still alive." Twister said as he unintentionally tightened his hug on Celestia. "And I think Sombra is involved"
Celestia grew a worried look but it faded "then I have an idea, I'll tell you about it in the morning, for now, lets sleep." Celestia said laying her head on Twisters chest.
Smiling down at her as he lay on his back, Twister placed his sword next to the bed and wrapped his wings around Celestia. "Good night my love, sweet dreams" ~or at least I hope~
-the dream world-
Smiling at the peaceful scene before her, of herself, Celestia, her niece, and her brother-in-law, sitting and having a peaceful picnic in the Royal Rose Garden. Having been told by Celestia about Twisters Nightmares, Luna was going to ensure he was going to have a peaceful rest tonight.
Smiling as she left his dream to return to the dream world, she felt a very familiar presence. A dark one, turning, she saw cat like eyes and razor sharp teeth. "You!" Luna yelled, only to get a laugh out of the figure that chilled her very blood. Then as quickly as she appeared, she disappeared. "So thou have returned, Nightmare Moon."
