Twilight put down the book and looked at it "A Manticore's Excretory System: New Speculations," it was titled, it was the last book in her systematically arranged library, which basically meant that it had the least useful information in the library, barring fiction, this wasn't particularly surprising from its title, and the fact that most of it wasn't true, according to fluttershy, who always seemed to know these things, which Twilight has never questioned how, mostly for fear of the answer.

She had just finished reading every book in the library for the third time this week, and she still had four days of the week left, then another month for any new books. This was one of the drawbacks of being an Alicorn, ones concentration increases, making them able to read faster and more efficiently. She really needed the Canterlot library if she was going to last very long, however, she began to feel about half way through that last book, she wondered if she had caught something from all the books, but it didn't feel like a sickness, rather, a drunken calm, "drunk on knowledge", she smiled at the thought, before deciding to go to bed.

Knock knock

Twilight sat up suddenly "who is it?" she moaned, before she realized she was at the other side of the building and the knocker couldn't hear her. She trudged lazily over to the door, repeating herself when she reached it.

"Miss, Twilight Sparkle?" the voice came, it sounded aged, a deep, elite tone echoed throughout the library, causing spike to moan dozily.

"that's me," she said between a yawn "and it's the middle of the night."

"I apologize for any inconvenience, but I really must deliver this."

"delivery?" Twilight was suddenly interested "of what?"

"A book, this is a library? correct?"

The door shot open and Twilight burst from the library, she threw her forelegs around the pony before even looking at him, the first thing she noticed was that his coat felt strange, smooth, it felt like thick honey, she pressed it to see if it was, but the pony broke free and was gone before she could look at him again, leaving only her and a parcel, on which was written in mounds of ink "DO NOT READ THIS BOOK," Twilight read the rest of the label as well, but nothing interesting could be found, Twilight quickly realised how cold it was outside, so darted back inside with her book.

She tore open the parcell to reveal a huge tome, it was a hardback, the title was written with what seemed to be large droplets of ink, smudged to form each letter, Twilight assumed that this was intentional given the books title and turned her attention back to the warning on the label "do not read?" she thought, after a long indecisive second the opened the book to the first page, and began to read.

She dived into the book, assuming it was a simple writing guide, considering its title "A way with words."
