The Outponies
The Note
Previous ChapterWhen Fluttershy and the rest of the gang got home, he all were still in shock by what had just happened to them. To break the silence, Rarity said,
"Well this shows how fast people can leave us.".
Then Rarity told everyone to go home and get some sleep for tomorrow. Fluttershy went to bed with Twilight and suddenly said,
"Are we ever going to replace Johnny and Apple Jack?"
She really wanted Twilight Sparkle to say no. She responded,
"Never."
Fluttershy took a sigh of relief and drifted into a shallow sleep. She dreamed of a horrible shadow taking all of her friends and murdering them by banging their head on a plaster wall. Blood pooled everywhere till she was barely able to keep her head above the thick red blood, which she couldn't swim or float in. She tried to scream but her voice was clogged up by the blood. She went under, but all she saw, heard, smelled, tasted, and felt was blood. She attempted to swim up, but she was being dragged down by something every time she almost got to the top. Suddenly, she woke up from the worst nightmare of her life. Twilight then asked,
"Are you okay Fluttershy, you look kind of pale." Fluttershy then responded,
"Yeah, I just had a bad dream."
She walked over to the kitchen and started to make breakfast. The door opened very quietly, so quietly she didn't even notice. Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie came in and Rainbow Dash said as if she was in pain,
"Johnny's funeral is today."
There was sadness boiling in the house, and everyone could feel it. Before The funeral was at five o'clock, which gave Fluttershy plenty of time to go to school, sadly.
Fluttershy is pretty much a bright pony over all, but since Johnny's injury, she flunking tests, not doing homework, and barely eating. After English, her teacher pulled her and said,
"How are you holding up Fluttershy, I'm worried about you. You still haven't turned in you semester essay."
Fluttershy answered,
"I'm fine, and I'll do it as soon as I get home, I promise."
"The project was do yesterday, but I'll give till tomorrow to finish it."
"I won't let you down." Fluttershy ran out the door and went home to get dressed for Johnny's funeral.
It was only 3 o'clock when she got home, so she decided that she could get started in the essay. She needed to get inspiration from some where first, so she decided to read part of Johnny's favorite book, Gone With the Wind. She opened the book, and a folded piece of paper fell out. It said:
"Fluttershy, I told the nurse to give you this note. I tell Apple jack that I think that saving those filly's life was worth it. Their life meant more than mine. And you know that poem you talked about, the one about gold. I think that the guy who wrote it meant that your gold when your a filly, like the way you like wildlife and helping other's, that gold. And tell Apple Jack to see a turtle, I don't think she's ever seen one. And tell her that there is still some good in the world, I don't she knows that."
Then Fluttershy just started crying on the spot, for no particular reason. Once she got all her tears out of her system, she got dressed for the funeral.
Once she was dressed, she went to Twilight and Rarity and left for the cemetery. They were going to Johnny's and Apple Jack's funeral. When they got there, the whole gang was there, but no one else was there. Not even Johnny's or Apple Jack's parents. It was sad. The minister said his stuff, and then they each took turns shoveling dirt back into the grave in which Johnny and Apple Jack were buried in. They each payed their respects by saying a few good words about Johnny and how good of a friend he had been. Then they each went home, with sad thoughts of Johnny and Apple Jack in their head. When Fluttershy got home, she instantly got to work on her essay. She still had no inspiration from anything. But then suddenly, the thought hit her like a blow to the chest from twelve full-grown untamed lions. She then quickly began writing her thoughts down so quick, her brain could barely keep up with her hand. She wrote:
When I stepped out in to the bright sunlight of the Pony Double movie theater, I had only two things on my mind Paul Newman, and a way or ride home...
