Understanding it does not mean I can Control it

A grotesque meeting; An unexpected strike!

Previous Chapter

Stepping off of the Friendship Express, Twilight and her friends collapsed on the platform exhausted from their trip. "Well girls, tomorrow I'd say that we should...." Twilight began but trailed off as she, along with four of her friends stared for a moment at Fluttershy, who was flying hurriedly to the edge of the forest. There was a fire, they could see the smoke, and it was Fluttershy's house. Shaking off the surprise, and exhaustion from the trip, Rainbow Dash was the first to take off after Fluttershy, quickly followed by the rest of her friends.

Oh no no no! Not good! Apparently when the bear swatted me to the side, I lost Control before I blacked out and let out a Fireball, or something of that order. It wasn't hard to deduce this, considering when I awoke I was surrounded by flames and smoke. Looking just ahead I could see the bear's half melted corpse. Resisting the urge to lose the lunch I hadn't had, I briefly thought about trying to put out the fire. That idea went to the bin fast considering all I can do is with fire. Maybe if I could perform some Venus Psynergy, but that was way out of my league. So after making sure there were no more animals in the cottage, I legged it out of there.

Then I proceeded to leg it right back inside. When I got out there I saw ponies from the village rushing the house. Two of each sub-race. Not wanted to deal with all that I jumped out the back window to not catch their attention. Because I have wonderful observation skills I completely missed that the window wasn't open, and was indeed made of glass. Busting through the glass was no problem if you think about how fast I was moving to get out of there, what slowed me down was the landing. I got a really nasty cut to my left arm. Quickly casting a small Flare onto the wound to stop the bleeding, I thought about my left arm. You could say that my left arm was my sword arm, considering I have to use both hands to hold the Sol Blade. If I got into a fight I'd have to solely rely on my right arm to cast Psynergies.

That exact reason is why I could have outrun a race car when those ponies found me. Not wanting to get into a fight, I rushed into the forest, ignoring the angry sounding neighs chasing me. I dashed in the forest and slouched behind a tree, catching my breath before I have to run again.

"I thought I sensed an Adept around here." A voice met my ears from above me, just a little bit further inside the forest than I was. Spooked for a number of reasons, those being that the voice could speak English, knew I was an Adept, and tracked me, I spun around and looked skyward. I tried to pool some Psynergy into my right hand in the case that I needed to attack quickly, but it  seemed I already lost Control and my Psynergy didn't respond. I grunted, "Show yourself!"

"Calm down. Don't attack me, I'm coming out." Descending down from the treetop was-

"A djinn? How the hell did you get here from Weyard?" I spluttered. The Djinn had a look of surprise cross it's face, before it adopted a serious look. "You could say I'm looking for someone, just like these ponies coming up seem to be looking for you."

I turned around and peeked behind the tree to see that the ponies were getting very close, something I didn't want. "Okay so you're a Djinn. Can you help me? Djinn are supposed to have unique powers, right? I'll help you if you help me." At my saying this, a confused look crossed the Djinn's face. "Whaat, you're an Adept and you don't know much about Djinn? Yeah I can help you,  if you swear you'll help me after." Furiously nodding my head, the Djinn continued by pointing to the huge castle hanging off of a mountain.

"I can sense some big Psynergic event will happen there soon. I think that it'd do me well to be there when it happens. I can lend you my power to help us both get there. I can heal your arm and increase your speed. Then I'll hang onto your back and you run there. I'm called Coal. Let's get started." Coal finished his small lecture.

"Right, sounds good. My name is Aran." Coal floated onto my back and I felt a rush of power. My arm healed and I felt full of energy. Then it was time to see how fast I was with a run to the mountain, and up it, a few dozen kilometres away.

Twilight and Co. arrived at the edge of the forest just in time to see the creature they were chasing run off towards Canterlot at an alarming speed. Quickly working together, Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy pulled some clouds over to put out the fire. After quickly checking up on her animal friends, Fluttershy determinedly looked at Twilight, questioning her on what to do now. Twilight, not sure if she cold teleport all of them, told her friends they'd have to take the train

"You're sure that this is the place?" Garet questioned, stepping into the cave alongside Kraden and Isaac. "Yes, I'm quite sure. The nearby villagers mentioned strange noises coming from inside. Coupled with the large amounts of Psynergy just radiating from it, I'd say this is it." Kraden sighed, then questioned, "Can you feel it Isaac?" Nodding his head, Isaac lead the trio further into the cave.

The castle looked even bigger up close. I found I could run exceptionally fast with Coals help. As I neared the gates to the town, for I could now see there was a town before the castle, the power Coal lent me started to wear off. Just as well because I'd have to start being stealthy soon. There might be guards and I'd rather not have to deal with that at the moment. Normally I wouldn't care but as soon as the power Coal lent me wore off-

"Shit!" I swore, the gash on my left arm reappeared, although less severe. I could probably wield the Sol Blade and cast Psynergies with it now, so a fight would be fine but not a long one. I'd have to wait until the castle to fight. "What the hell Coal? Why did the wound on my arm resurface?"

"Sorry Aran, my focus is speed. I'm not the best healer." Coal apologized. "Though I believe I have a bit of power left in me to lend." Floating into the sky for a moment, Coal continued, "I can see what looks like the town square from here. With the power I have left I could give you enough speed to get there in about thirty seconds. Can't do anything more about your arm though."

"That... That sounds great. I think I might be able to make it further than that, almost to the castle." I assured Coal. Floating down onto my back, Coal once more lent me some power. Resting one more moment, I took off towards the town. I ran past the gate and into the town. With my speed I was already in the middle of town and started to run further when I noticed something. Something very important. I don't know how I didn't notice it sooner.

The town was empty. Could they have known I was coming? I don't know exactly what Coal's intentions are here, but I was just bringing him here. I was coming here non hostile. I plan to stay that way unless those two Winged Ones are- VWOOSH

Speak of the devil. I heard it just in time to pull out and raise my blade to block whatever was coming at me. The speed at which it was coming and the force of what it was pushed me back on my feet, sliding it and I a few dozen metres backwards. I looked up and saw it was Night, with her horn pushing back against my blade.

At least, that's what I'd like to say happened. I did hear Night coming in time to block her, but I couldn't get my right arm on my sword fast enough. That meant I was blocking solely with my wounded arm. Her horn got past my guard long enough to put a gash on my cheek before the force of her first attack, with so much power behind it, blew me backwards a dozen metres. I landed on my left side furthering the pain in my arm. Coal had disappeared to wherever Djinn go to recharge their power.

I reached for my sword with my right arm and slammed it into the ground, pulling myself up onto one knee. Struggling to get up, I saw Night eye me cautiously. Of course since I was in talking pony land, that's when shit got weirder. The ground adopted a chequerboard like pattern. I saw Night look slightly horrified before an explosion separated us further.

"We're close." Isaac spoke up, startling his companions out of the silence they were in. "Can you not feel it? We must be close to the main chamber."

"Aye, if there is a beast in there we best be ready. For it to have no monsters prowling its cave must mean it has immense power." Garet replied. Kraden nodded. The trio emerged from the tunnel they were in to find themselves... In the Vale ruins?

"How the devil did we get here?! We were in a cave!" Kraden exclaimed, thoroughly confused. "I'm not sure-" began Isaac, before a fourth voice interrupted him.

"Devil? I've been called many things, but never that. I think that might be stretching it." Appearing in front of the group, a hideous monster spoke to them. "I am Chaos Incarnate, and you lot are just what I was looking for." Before the trio could make a move, the monster snapped with its claw, and the trio was gone.
