“You’re taking a guard, and that’s final,” the large, celestial alicorn says to her younger sister. “With all of this political nonsense going on, I can’t have you traveling alone through Equestria. Sighing, Celestia turns away from her sister and points to the pile of papers sitting by her chair. “I have to stay here in Canterlot and go over some paperwork. And if I go, who’s going to talk with the politicians about their stance with this whole mess? You’re not exactly a people pony, Luna,” Celestia says, jokingly. “I need you at the Crystal Empire with Cadence to help sort everything on her end. I have no idea how she’s taking this, and I’m sure she would appreciate any help we can give.” The large alicorn turns back to Luna, but her stern look has melted into one of calm reassurance. “I’m sure you’ll do fine, I don’t doubt that. I just want to be you to be safe, okay?”
Luna’s face seems to be in a permanent scrunch while Celestia explains herself, but begrudgingly she says, “Yes sister, I understand. My only question is do I really need to have so many guards with me? Surely it would be just as safe with only one guard.”
Celestia eyes her sister suspiciously before nodding. She then calls over to the group of ponies at the door. “Olive Hilt, please come up here for a moment. The rest of you are dismissed.” The stallion on the far right nods, then positions himself a few steps down from the princesses in a manner that could only be defined as a saunter. Though he stands an entire hoof shorter than his companions, Olive Hilt carries a confidence about him that raises an eye from the shorter of the two alicorns. His black olive hair is tamed only by his helmet. Luna could tell that without it his hair would be a mess, as if he had put his head in front of a fan and let the wind decide what hairstyle he should have for the day. Azure eyes shine along with his calm smile as he eyes the two of them. His Imperial blue coat is combed to perfection.
“Yes, my princess?” Olive Hilt says, bowing his head.
“At ease,” Celestia says jokingly, an inside joke between her and her sister that gets a reluctant smile from the violet alicorn. The royal guard smirks and raises a brow to the phrase, but does as he’s told. “My beloved sister,” Celestia starts, “needs somepony to accompany her to the Crystal Empire, and I have chosen you. I need you to be outside my sisters quarters with whatever you need for the journey by tomorrow morning. I hope this is acceptable for you Luna?”
The younger alicore stares at Olive Hilt for a long time, but his calm smile stays glued to his face. “Fine,” she says, grinding her teeth turning away from the two of them and storming out of the throne room.
Celestia watches Luna go. Her smile dissolves into a worried expression before she catches herself and turns back to the imperial blue stallion with her normal stern posture restored. “You may go,” she says coldly, before turning to the large pile of paperwork with a sigh.

The trip was disappointing. Olive Hilt had expected a week long journey of epic proportions, and had packed for just as much. He catches himself after a second, but he could hardly have made it any more obvious. If the other stallion noticed, however, he doesn’t show any sign.
“Yeah, it’s a little difficult to get used to at first, but you’d be surprised at how easy it is to maintain. Not a pothole for miles,” the stallion says jokingly.
“I would bet,” Olive Hilt says offhanded, remembering what he’s suppose to be doing. He looks around as he tries to find princess Luna, a small flash of panic shooting through him when he doesn’t see her at first. He can just make her out as she turns a corner in the direction of the large, mountain sized castle. “Thanks again for the help,” he says to the handsome stallion without a second glance.
