Visit to Luthorcorp
Load Full StoryTess sighed as the endless amounts of files were poured in front of her. She had told all her reporters to find out more about the Blur, and they all had. They had all found a lot of evidence, especially Katherine Grant, who was still fixated with the fact that Lois Lane was the Blur. Tess smiled as she flicked through the pages of the files, knowing they were al wrong. She knew the Blur's true identity, and the only reason she had told everyone to do this assignment was to see how close they were to the truth. But they were nowhere near. Nobody would of presumed farm-boy reporter Clark Kent was a alien from another planet sent here to save the world. It was a tough job to have thousands asking 'do you have any idea who the Blur is' every hour and always answering 'no', but Tess was a former member of Checkmate, and she knew how to lie convincingly. At that moment, the door to Tess's office creaked open, revealing Lois head to toe covered in water.
"Tess! I can't believe you made me research about a man that i am engaged to! It's just wrong! I hate the weather these days though, I'm practically drenched!"
Tess lay back in her chair and watched Lois rant on about how 'Your'e just boosting Clark's identity onto the edge of the screaming crowds', paying no attention whatsoever to it. When Lois finished, she stormed out of the Editor's office, muttering about Tess under her breath. Tess was still suprised that someone so fiery and feisty as Lois would be going out with someone so forgiving and calm as Clark. But she knew it was no where near as much as a suprise when she found out she was a Luthor. Not to mention Alexander had gone missing, and wanted Clark dead. But her supernatural life was aside from the Daily Planet, so she decided to focus on reading the files.
Chloe looked around Watchtower, taking it all in for the 7th time. She was glad she was back, but being part of a team of outlaw vigilantes according to the VRA meant she couldn't turn Watchtower online without the VRA finding out their secret base. Oliver had left for Luthorcorp, being the head of that now instead of Queen industries. Chloe loved Oliver, and she had never felt so certain with a relationship than now. Clark had been keeping his identity from her in high school and he had his eyes on Lana, and then Jimmy seemed to not be Chloe's type after they got married, and he was dead now anyway. Davis was a lost cause, and then Oliver seemed nothing but perfect. Chloe just hoped that the VRA wouldn't find him and capture him again. She still made Oliver wear a bullet-proof vest when he went to work, but it was very slim chance that the VRA would capture him so publicly. But Chloe didn't want Oliver to get hurt, and she would keep it that way.
When Tess entered Luthorcorp, and excessive amount of security surrounded her, watching her every move. Lasers scanned her, checking if she wasn't a part of the VRA and had no weapons. Tess knew that he would do this to make sure no one who posed a threat would step into his office. Though he and Tess had a long history of not the best things, he let her in because she had been Watchtower when Chloe was missing. The revolving doors that led to his office opened quickly, allowing Tess to step inside. He was sitting on his chair, reading the Daily Planet newspaper.
"I presume you are reading the column about the VRA, Green Arrow."
The part time multi-millionaire playboy spun around in his chair before lowering the newspaper. His blonde-like brown hair stuck up like a porcupine, yet Tess was not amused by his lack of being formal.
"Please Tess, I'm off duty! Call me Oliver, or even Ollie! Though nobody calls me that so it would sound a bit weird..."
Tess rolled her eyes before taking a deep breath. She knew why she was here, and it wasn't for a friendly catch-up. She needed to tell Oliver about how she was a Luthor. Oliver saw the look on her face and realised she was going to tell him something important. He settled back in his chair, ready to hear whatever Tess had to say to him.
"Oliver-"
"Ollie, remember."
"-*sigh* 'Ollie, I have something to say to you..."
Oliver nodded, ready to hear some life-changing secret.
"Well, the truth is... Well the truth is..."
Smoke began to float around, stopping Tess in mid-sentence. She accidentally breathed in some f the smoke, causing her to faint suddenly. Oliver looked around in confusion, then a figure stepped out of the shadows.
"What have you done, you-"
"Shhh..."
Oliver breathed in the smoke, and fell to the ground.
Clark zoomed down the road, coming to a corner where a woman was getting mugged. Making sure he stayed in the shadows, Clark watched the to muggers advance on the woman, knives in their hands. In desperation, the woman handed the muggers her purse. Clark knew it was his turn. He ran through the muggers and they were thrown aside to a wall. The purse had fell out of one of their hands, and the woman picked it up.
"Thank you Blur! I don't believe any of this stuff the VRA is saying! I know you are good!"
Clark smiled as he tore through the streets, looking for any other problems. He still didn't feel safe though, and he didn't think that one thank you could drive the VRA back into the shadows. He took great caution, imagining a giant load of Kryptonite falling in front of him, weakening him so the VRA could capture him. But he wouldn't let that happen for Lois's sake. As Clark passed Luthorcorp, he saw the windows in Oliver's office with a foggy look to them. Using his x-Ray vision, he saw a figure advancing on Oliver and what looked like Tess Mercer. Or, should he say, Lutessa Lena Luthor after his recent discovery. He removed the phone out of his pocket and dialled for Lois before making his way up to Oliver's Office. He sped to just outside the door, and waited, muting the sound on his phone. After realising that no sound was coming from the door, he unmuted the phone and began to talk to Lois.
"Lois, I'm at Luthorcorp and I think Oliver's been hurt, making with Tess. I am goin-"
"Look Smallville, I have a deadline for a report on the Blur! You need to come home and help me think of some convincing lies. Oh, Oliver? Hurt? I better go tell Chloe, for her sake."
As Clark listened to. Lois, the door opened, revealing the mysterious hooded figure. It held out Kryptonite, and Clark fell to the floor.
"AAAARRGGHH!"
"Smallville, are you alright? Clark?"
The figure stepped on the phone, silencing Lois's worried voice.
Lois dashed of to Watchtower after the phone went dead, and ran straight up to Chloe who was having a cup of coffee. By accident, Lois spilt the coffee all over her cousin. After getting dressed and trying to wash put the coffee stains, Lois told Chloe all about the phone call. Chloe was confused at first, but then she came to a conclusion.
"Somebody must have held out Kryptonite in front of him."
Lois thought about this for a while before realising who it was. She got up from the sofa and shouted that it was the VRA, knocking Chloe's coffee all over for the second time. As Chloe got dressed again, she explained it could of been the VRA, but it didn't sound like them because it had only been less than a week since they attacked. Lois agreed, and they began to ponder about who else it could be. They realised there was only one was to find out.
Upon arriving at the door of Oliver's office, they removed there guns from their pockets; one normal, one Kryptonite bullet loaded. They stepped inside and saw the figure with its hood, and it began to remove it from its head, revealing... Lois and Chloe passed out onto the floor from the smoke. The figure had a gas mask on, and it's hood must have been quite expensive due to the fact it was lined with Chinchilla fur. It put the hood back over it's head, before saying:
"Victory."
