"You remember the plan?"
"Of course! Of course!" I said. "Just point a gun at the clerk and demand money, how hard could it be?" I muttered under my breath.
"Alright dude, let's bounce!"
I sighed and hopped out of the car and placed my cap on my head to cover up my messy dark brown hair.
"Mets fan eh?" The idiot who hired me asked.
"Yeah, since I was kid. Problem?" I retorted.
"Nah man, nah. Just wondering, just wondering..."
"Hey! Focus now, this is it, no fuckin up! Understand?" I asked.
"Yeah, yeah whatever!"
We walked in and you could just feel the tension, everyone in the convenience store just knew that something was going to go down. And from the start of the robbery I could sense that this was going to end badly for me or my idiot accomplice. As we point our weapons at the clerk, the clerk reaches down to open the register, my buddy thinks he's reaching for a weapon and nearly opens the poor dude behind the counter a new hole. Luckily for all of us I manage to calm him down (Not because I wanted the cashier to go home to his family or anything, but because I don't want to be put-away for murder in case I get caught), any way this action of rage from my associate spurs the cashier to go faster and gives us the money in a bag, a measly 300 bucks. As we hurry back to the car the yahoo's screaming.
"Woohoo! We did it! We did it!" He screamed.
"Shut it, we're definitely not out of the woods yet." I told him.
I turn the key and the car starts, sputters, then suddenly stops.
"What the fuck do we man! The cops will be here any second! They'll arrest us! They'll put us in jail for a long time! We are so fucking fucked!"
"SHUT-UP!" I roared, "I'M TRYING TO THINK!" I tryed it again, this time it just sputters. I hang my head, pump the gas three times, turns the key: nothing. "Come on, come on, come on!" I whisper. I turn the key once more, the motor come to life as if it just rolled off the assembly line. My partner is dumbfounded.
"Huh... That actually... That actually worked?"
"Yes!" I said as I gave him a smirk, I glanced into the rear view mirror, and I see the green eyes of mine staring back.
I put the car into reverse and exit the gas-station, as we drive back to our house we pass a marked cop car stopped at a stop sign. Before I can react my passenger, rolls down his window and shoots at the cop. I stare dumbfounded at him.
"WHY THE FUCKING HELL DID YOU THAT?!" I scream at him.
"He was going to arrest us." He replied.
"We don't know that! Yeah, he could have pulled us over but we could just as easily floored it before he had a chance to get a look at our faces! Now the police will try to kill us now!" I looked over at the cop's car and saw a bullet hole in the windshield right where a person's face is suppose to be. "Oh shit. We are so fucked."
I speed away onto the highway and pretty soon we are followed by a whole army of squad cars, a few more minutes pass by and we hear several helicopters fly overhead. And I know this it, I'm either going to be shot by cops, or arrested and given the death sentence. What away to end for Bull Durham. I can barely decide whether I'm going to pull over and give up or just floor it like I'm never coming back, when I run-over something and hear all the air come rushing out of the left front tire.
"Oh shit! This is it man we need to bail!" My partner yells as he unbuckles his seatbelt opens the door and jumps out, I stare where he was just seconds ago, I finally look straight ahead to see that I'm moments away from hitting the trailer of a semi-truck. I stomp hard on the brakes and I hear the sickening crunch of metal being torn up, as everything go's dark.
