At that moment, on the Island of Niflheim, out in the Griffin Sea, an execution was taking place in the small colony of Zenith.
The accused was an old Frost griffin, born from the Xeek Tribe. What was he being executed for you may ask? What could be so atrocious that he would be put to death? What was his crime? Well... his crime was loving his homeland. Missing the freedom that his follow Frost griffins had lost long ago. And wanting so badly to push these... Invaders... out of his home.
But was that truly a crime? Well no, but to the United Griffin Kingdoms it was an act of treason. And no one defies the United Griffin Kingdom. No one!
“Foreign devil!” Spat the old Griffin. “you have desecrated this land and burnt a scare on its inhabitants! To what you have done will never be forgiven! Not by me, and not by the creator!”.
The response given to him was not words, but a black cloth over his head, and a noose around his neck.
“You may silence me. But you will never silence our soils!”.
The noose was tightened. The onlookers watched on in silence, fear, and helplessness as the Griffin Kingdoms solders backed away from there elder and over to the switch that controlled the trap door.
“Brothers! Sisters! Do not morn over my death” Said the old Griffin, his confidence never faltering. “but use it as an call to WAR! Stop, with this cowering under the shadow of these invaders. Rise my people, rise to a new day, rise and rebel! Fight for your land! Fight for your family! And most importantly. Fight For Your Freedom!!!”.
He sent a quiet prayer to the Creator as the trapdoor was opened and his body fell throw the stage floor.
His body hang there from the noose.. motionless.
Every griffin, Frost griffin, and living creature there bowed there heads in respect.
To everyone's surprise even the Zenith Colony's General (the same one that sentenced the old griffin to death) bowed his head.
To a griffin honer and bravery was everything. That was how you got into Valhalla of course. And this Old tribal was the most brave he had seen from these... lesser griffins. A true griffin. One that he would be an honored to shear a meed with.
Sighing he lifted his head to the crowed.
“And this!” He pointed his talon at the hanging body. “Is what happens when you speak such treason to your new King. We have given you protection from the Prench colonist, and In return all we ask is some of your resources, but only just enough” Everyone new he was lying, but what chose did they have than to sit and lesion “to supply our Air Ships. That protect YOU I mite add”.
He closed his eyes and shook his head. Bowing it in resentment to what just happened.
He didn't need to die. He could of just keep his mouth shut! But nooooo he had to be a hero. Well look at where that got him. Dead! Thought General Black Claw.
Reopening his eyes he looked around. Then to his seconded in command, Lieutenant Sharp fang. Her expression was one of sadness, disappointment, and anger for letting things get out of claw.
“Get everyone out of here. Tell them to got to there homes, and too not come until I say” He looked to the body. “until we remove the body from town square”.
She only nodded.
Gods forgive us She thought. Forgive us for killing an Incident, but he broke the law, I had to be done.
As everyone cleared the area, going to there homes at spear point, one Griffin watched the terrible seine from a nearby tree. The snow matched his cameo so he was unseen.
Slowly he lifted his bow. Then ever so slowly pulled back on the string. His sites were set on the General.
The General himself was slowly walking off stage, right next to him was that female Griffin. Such a shame his conversation was going to be cut short.
Because right as the invaders set there talons on the snowy ground, his airo was set to flight.
The Generals body collapsed to the ground with a thud. And before Sharp Fang could let out even a scream of surprise, the assassin was gone.
Blood for Blood....
