Introduction
It was Spring in Ponyville and Celestia's sun radiated the town. The sound of the morning birds chirping filled the air along with the sweet breeze of flowers blooming. The town bustled with crowds of ponies buying from the central marketplace of fresh produce and goods. The school bell rung notifying all ponies that school was in session and the last few fillies and colts entered the classroom.
There stood Octavia watering the flowers in her garden. She smiled at the blooming flowers and the beautiful spring day. She looked up from her flowers and saw Lyra and Bon Bon walking by and they waved at her with a greeting smile. Octavia waved back and returned to her flowers. She sighed in relief and savored the moment of peace and tranquility.
A brief moment later, the loud sound of muffled techno music filled the air and everypony in Ponyville heard the music. Octavia's happy and tranquil face turned into an annoyed expression as she rolled her eyes and mumbled to herself "Vinyl."
She walked back to the house she and Vinyl Scratch had been living in for the last few months. She opened he front door and was greeted by the loud techno music which pierced her eardrums. She motioned up the stairs as the already loud music grew stronger. She soon faced the door of Vinyl's room which was covered in crime scene tape and a sign stating "Beware of Wubs".
Octavia motioned her hoof up to knock on the door but stopped herself, knowing it would be no use. She decided to open the door and saw Vinyl Scratch banging her head as she mixed the music. Octavia trotted over to the Vinyl and stared at her. After a few seconds Vinyl snapped out of her music trance and turned off the music.
"Hey what's up Octy?" Vinyl asked innocently.
Octavia facehoofed and sighed in annoyance "The music."
Vinyl scratched the back of her head in embarrassment. "Whoops, my bad. Did I overdo the volume?"
Octavia rubbed her ears to regain her hearing "Overdo is an understatement Vinyl. Vinyl we aren't in your Canterlot recording studio. We are in Ponyville remember. We have neighbors who would like to have a little peace and quiet."
Vinyl drank the rest of a soda can that was on her DJ table and crushed it on the table. "I know Tavi, but I was just trying to wake myself up to a bit of hoofstep."
Octavia looked at the digital clock on Vinyl's wall. "It's 11 o'clock Vinyl."
Vinyl walked over to her dresser and changed out her shades with another identical pair. "Well we all have our own sleeping schedules. You wake up at 7 to get the groceries, water the plants and cooked breakfast, while I wake up at.... whenever, to eat your delicious breakfast and play some wubs."
Octavia rolled her eyes and smiled. "Okay fine, but can you at least turn down the music for our neighbors' sake?"
Vinyl giggled "Haha I can't make any promises."

The 11 o'clock train arrived into Ponyville with a screeching halt. The train whistle blew and the doors opened letting the passengers depart. Many different ponies of all shapes and colors filled the station platform. Amongst the crowd stood out a pegasus pony from the rest of the crowd. His burgundy fur and charcoal mane stood out from the rest of the vivid colored ponies who chattered on the platform. He also had a large case strapped on his back.
"Man, Rusty was right. It really is beautiful this time of year." He said as he stared at the town and it's flowers and trees blooming all across the town.
He left the station and looked around the bustling town. The streets were full of ponies talking to vendors, selling their latest produce or ponies just talking to other ponies. He finally came across a giant treehouse that had a sign in front of it hat read "Golden Oak Library". The pony shrugged thinking that he nothing to lose by looking inside the local library.
Inside was filled with books. He had never seen so many books in a single place. He took a few more steps in and then he heard a voice "Hold on just one second". He heard rustling and books and papers falling upstairs and a few seconds later he was shocked to see an alicorn pony walk down to greet him.
"Welcome to the Golden Oak Library, can I help you find a book?" she said as she walked down the stairs. She the noticed that the pony was awed staring at her. She blushed by the stare but then noticed it was because of her being an alicorn.
"I'm sorry, I sill forget that I'm an alicorn, and that not everyone is used to seeing a alicorn. Especially as the local librarian." she scratched the back of her head, embarrassed.
The pony quickly snapped out of it "No, no its fine. I'm sorry for staring, it's just I've never seen an alicorn except in books. And I never expected to see one in a small town like this."
She glanced over him quickly and tilted her head "You must be new to Ponyville. I'm Twilight Sparkle." she held out her hoof for a handshake.
He shook her hand and smiled "I'm Acoustic, It's nice to meet you Twilight."
Twilight saw the case on his back "Oh so your a musician? What instrument is that in the case?"
Acoustic looked at the case and slid I off his back "Yeah I guess. I play the guitar some."
Twilight smiled and clapped her hooves together "Oooh I love music. Could you play me something please?" she asked with big hopeful eyes.
Acoustic sighed and gave her a slight smile. "I guess it wouldn't hurt if I played just one song."
Acoustic put the case down and opened it. Inside was a wooden guitar that looked old but was in great condition. Twilight was shocked to see him pick it up not with his hooves but with his wings. He firmly held the guitar in his wings and his feathers began to pluck the strings. First he was just test the chords but after a few practice chords he begun to play the guitar. He played it beautifully and smoothly, unlike anything Twilight had ever heard before. The speed of the plucking grew faster and then slower, smooth and the brisk. It was a perfect combination of melody and elegance that when Acoustic finished, Twilight was awed just like he was when he found out she was an alicorn.
"That was so beautiful, where did you learn to play like that?" Twilight asked still with an awed expression.
"I learned by myself growing up in Las Pegasus." He said with a smile of satisfaction. "I'm just happy you liked it"
The front door opened and both saw a huge pile of boxes and books piled high up.
"Spike did you finish The shopping list already?" Twilight said to the baby purple dragon who laid the stuff on the ground.
"Yeah I finished it twice as fast to hurry home before the Spring shower scheduled for later. Thank Celestia, Rainbowdash gave me a heads up while I was out." Spike said as he turned his attention to the new pony in the room. "Oh hey there dude, I'm Spike"
"Hey Spike, I'm Acoustic" Acoustic said with a slight grin.
Spike saw him with the guitar and Twilight sitting in front of him. "Oh, was I interrupting something?" Spike asked.
"No Spike it's fine, Its just Acoustic here was playing me a song." Twilight said with a gleeful look.
Spike looked confused and looked at the two ponies awkwardly. "What like a love song?" he said followed with a gagging action.
Twilight's face grew red and Acoustic's face blushed slightly as well. "You have it all wrong Spike, we are just friends. Besides we just met." Twilight said panicky.
Spike rolled his eyes and climbed the stairs. " Whatever's going on, try and keep it down while I take a quick nap please."
"Don't worry Spike, we will." said Twilight with a kind smile. She then looked at Acoustic . "Wait do you even have a place to stay?"
Acoustic chuckled and scratched the back of his head "Well you see... I kinda got distracted looking around and then I came across your Treehouse."
Twilight giggled, that caused Acoustic to blush slightly. "I'll show you to the town hall if you want? That's where all ponies that are new get residence."
Acoustic began packing his guitar and grinned "I'd appreciate it if you did. The town is larger than I originally thought."
Twilight grabbed her saddlebag and put it on her back "Of course that's what friends are for."
Twilight escorted Acoustic around the town and showed him all the landmarks and memorials. She showed him the different areas of town and eventually to the front of the Town Hall.
"Here we are." Twilight said with a smile. "Inside is our mayor, Mayor Mare. You need to speak with her about getting a house here in Ponyville."
Acoustic looked at her and gave a grateful smile "Thanks Twilight, I appreciate the help." He stuck his hoof out and placed it on her shoulder "If you want, we can hang out sometime."
She blushed and Acoustic did too after realizing that his proposal could be taken the wrong way. "Of course, maybe with some of my friends. If you want of course?"
Acoustic gave a caring smile at Twilight "Of course any friend of yours is a friend of mine."
"Well I'll see you around. I got to see Pinkie Pie before the shower" she waved and flew off as Acoustic waved back.
Acoustic entered the town hall and was met by a secretary sitting at the front desk. "Hello sir may I help you?" the pony said happily.
Acoustic looked at the secretary "Yes I was told to speak to the mayor about residency."
The secretary smiled and looked at the her clipboard. "Yes the mayor is currently not busy. I will inform her that you are here, go ahead and walk down the hall and to last door on the right."
Acoustic smiled at her "Thank you" and headed down the hall to the mayor's office.
When he opened the door he saw the mayor sitting at her desk talking into the intercom at her desk. "Thank you Miss Snow, he just entered my office." She looked up at Acoustic with welcoming expression. "Welcome to Ponyville dear sir. I'm Mayor Mare." she stuck out her hoof to shake Acoustics hoof.
Acoustic shook her hoof with a slight smile. "Thank you Mayor Mare. I'm Acoustic." He looked at her as she got out of her seat and walked up to him.
"What brings a handsome colt, such as yourself, to Ponyville?" She asked in a friendly, yet slightly flirty, voice.
"I wanted to move away from the big city life in New Pegasus. I like the small quiet town you have here Ms. Mare." he said as he looked out the window.
"Well we would love to have you join our community Mr. Acoustic. But unfortunately we have no vacant houses for sale." She said with a frown. "You can look around and see if somepony will rent you a room. But I can still give you your residential papers even if you don't have a place to live."
"Well thank you Mayor Mare, I appreciate it." He said with a smile.
She gathered papers from under her desk. She then signed and stamped the papers and handed them to Acoustic to sign. After signing the papers she put them in a filing cabinet and shook his hoof. "Congratulations Acoustic, you are now a member of Ponyville's community." she said with a big smile.
"Thank you Ms. Mare. I better get off looking for a place to sleep tonight." he said and then shook her hand once more before leaving the office.
He walked outside the town hall and saw the clouds accumulating by Pegasi above. He swiftly walked around the town looking for a place to stay for the night. It soon began to drizzle rain but to no avail. In his haste he accidently bumped into another pony, and both fell.
"I'm so sorry" said Acoustic with a red face. He then noticed the fallen groceries. "Oh my gosh, I am so sorry. I was in such a rush I didn't see were I was going." He said as he picked up the groceries.
"Its quite alright." Said the sweet and elegant voice. "I was in a rush too"
They both looked up from gathering food and they both froze as their eyes meet.
"Excuse me, where are my manners, my name is Octavia" she said as she looked into the sapphire eyes of the burgundy pony in front of her.
"Hello beaut- I mean, Hello Octavia my name's Acoustic" he said with a blushing face. Smooth.
Both their faces blushed as they looked into each others eyes. They both soon snapped out of the gaze and the rain picked up. "It was nice meeting you Octavia" He said as he handed her the groceries.
"It was nice to meet you to Mr. Acoustic." She said with cute smile.
They both made haste to shelter. Octavia ran to her house and slammed the door behind her, but not without letting a suppressed squeal. And Acoustic ran to the Golden Oak Library and closed the door behind him, and let out a huge sigh. "Oh hey Acoustic." Said Twilight as she looked up at him while reading a book. "So did you enjoy yourself today?" she said with a friendly smile. "Oh you have no idea" he said with grin.
