A Frightful Night

Fangs were bared, claws were swiped, and teeth were gnashed, and all directed at the purple Alicorn slowly being backed into the corner of her house. It all seemed like a fun idea, thought the Alicorn, everything was going to be fine, it was safe enough, a simple spell or two, then everything was back to normal.

Oh, how terribly wrong she was, if only she read a little more carefully, then she would not have been wondering how this happened, and, how she caused this, how she created these monsters who were to seal her fate. Or perhaps....?

One Day Earlier

    Twilight Sparkle was humming to herself as she walked down the street into Ponyville as  the small town was getting ready for Nightmare Night, the most fun and scariest night of the year. She was checking on all the decorations and games for tomorrow's holiday. Everything seemed fine so far.

    As Twilight was walking down the main road to her house, mentally checking off items and whatnot, humming the Nightmare Night tube, she saw Rainbow Dash, and, unsurprisingly, with a supply of thunderclouds, which she is falling horribly at trying to hide. As Twilight came closer to Rainbow, she began to notice that Dash did not have on her Shadowbolt costume that she wore last year, instead she was wearing a very worn-looking and last-minute Werepony costume. Twilight smiled to herself, knowing that even though the canine Pegasus was preoccupied with hiding her thunderclouds and looking out for staring eyes, Dash wouldn't be focused enough to even hear lightning shock right next to her ear. So, Twilight Sparkle made her move. She unfolded her wings and flapped them a few times before taking off and flying, slowly approaching the backside of her dog-friend. Twilight reached Rainbow's shoulders and....grabbed Dash's arms turned her around and tickled under her arms as best as her purple hooves could allow her to.

"Bwahahaha! Hahaha! S-stop it! Ah! Too much, you're gonna make me pee myself! Twi', please! Ha! *Snort* Bwahaha! Okay, okay! Uncle, I give, I give! Bahahahahehe...aahhh." Twilight eventually stopped her tickle ambush on her friend before she actually did pee herself.

"Hey Rainbow! How are on this fine day before Nightmare Night? Ohhh, were you planning on pranking unsuspecting distracted ponies with these thunderclouds? I hope no one figures out what's going to happen tomorrow on Nightmare Night when there not expecting it!" Twilight wrapped her arm around Dash's neck pulling her closer and drawing a lot of passersby's attention.

"Uh-uh, n-nooo. Keep on movin' everypony, nothin' to see here!" Rainbow flew out under from Twilight's arm glared daggers at her. "Hey! What gives, Twilight! It's not like I pranked you, I never got the chance, too. Princess Luna got me before I could get you, anyway." She grumbled the last sentence, remembering that karma is a force to be reckoned with.

"Yeah, that's true. You didn't really prank me, but consider that pay back for shocking Spike enough to almost make him choke!" Twilight looked at Rainbow smugly, yet slightly miffed and she crossed her arms while she flapped her wings slowly, hovering in front of Rainbow Dash.

"Yeah, sorry 'bout that, I guess I did go a bit far."Rainbow looked into Twilight's eyes, seeing that they were narrowed in suspicion. "Alright. alright! I went overboard with the whole pranking thing. And I totally won't do it again!" Dash her right hoof over her heart and held the left one straight up. She peeked her eyes open to see Twilight with one eyebrow raised. "What!?"

"If you're not going to be pranking anypony this Nightmare Night, then why do you have all those thunderclouds and why are you trying to hide them from anypony who might see, please, explain." She moved her hooves that showed Rainbow had the floor to talk now.

"Well, duh! Mayor Mare asked the fastest pony in Equestria to bring some extra thunderclouds for tomorrow night so the sky looks darker and creepier. As to why I'm sneaking around with them, Mayor Mare also didn't want anypony knowing about this because she's going to use most of the clouds to make a 'grand entrance' or something. Answers your question?" Dash now stared at Twilight nonchalantly.
