Rarity exhaled and inhaled gently as the sweet, savoring aroma of burning cereal filled her nostrils. The tranquility of the boutique made her slumber all that much more relaxing, and on top of that she took notice that there was not a peep or a single sound of disturbance throughout her home. This may have been the most peaceful rest the fashionista has had in years. It truly was a fantastic gift! If only every morning was exactly like this one. Nice, pleasant, quiet, and no sound of Sweetie Belle making a large clutter downstairs.

Her bedside alarm clock squawked and beeped noisily signaling the start of Rarity's day. Rarity stood up from her bed and turned hit the power button gently. She then examined the time it read 7:00 right on the dot. It was odd, but around this time Rarity would be sluggishly awakening, begging for just five more minutes of rest. What was going on here? Something was off in her usual schedule, and she knew exactly what was wrong... Sweetie Belle wasn't causing a disturbance of any sort.

"Sweetie Belle!" Rarity dashed downstairs and immediately scanned the area. There was no sign of the little white-coated filly. She must have gone to school already, but this early?

"Sweetie Belle-" Rarity was entering her kitchen when she saw breakfast on her table, and a little note placed next to a bowl of cereal.

"Hmm." Curiously, the mare lifted the note and began to read it...

Dear Rarity, the first line read in a bright red crayon color.

I will be at Apple Bloom's today. I didn't want to wake you up, because you looked like you were having a really good dream. If you need anything just come to Sweet Apple Acres.

Your sister,

Sweetie Belle.

P.S: I made you cereal and orange juice. It should have cooled down by the time you red this note.

Rarity groaned irritatedly. Sweetie Belle had no right to leave the boutique without informing Rarity in pony first. She could just storm over to Sweet Apple Acres and-

"No. What kind of sister would I be to ruin Sweetie Belle's day..." Rarity thought aloud as she began to read her calender.

"Oh! It's Saturday. That's why Sweetie Belle left so early, since there isn't school today."

Rarity poured herself a scorching cup of tea. Most morning ponies drank coffee before going to work, but Rarity always preferred tea to coffee, since it relaxed her more, and had a very satisfying taste and fragrance.

She stood up from her chair and glanced back at the breakfast Sweetie Belle had taken time to prepare for her. Rarity thought if she threw it away, it might be a waste of her sister's hard work.

With a heavy sigh Rarity sat back down and began to fork spoonfuls of burnt cereal into her mouth. Everytime she swallowed it left an unsatisfactory taste in her mouth, it was as if she was eating burning rubber. It was hard to believe anyone could burn cereal.

As she finished the remaining black chunks of breakfast, she washed it down with the blackened orange juice. The chunky, cold liquid slithered down her throat, causing Rarity to shiver in disgust.

"I'm... finally... done.." Rarity said as she threw herself onto the living room ruby red sofa. It was cozy, and quite comforting, and the mare just wanted to lie here for the whole day. She knew for a fact that her schedule was clear for today, and she had already completed Photo Finish's requested outfits for her new magazine.

She felt her eyelids close heavily and she inhaled tiredly. Everything in the boutique felt different when Sweetie Belle wasn't around. But it most certainly was much more peaceful.

A ding at the door disturbed her rest, and Rarity snapped back into reality.

"Oh. Hello. I wasn't expecting anyone today." Rarity greeted as a pink-colored mare entered the room.

"Pinkie pie? What brings you here? I haven't even had time to fix up my mane." She admitted embarrassedly, as her cheeks formed a bright hue of red.

"Icameover becauseIhadnoworkatSugarCubeCorner.Saturdaysnormallygobyquicklybutforsomereasontodaywasaprettyslowday. So I thought I could help you make dresses."

"Uh.." Rarity tilted her head with a look of confusion on her face. "Oh. Well I'm sorry darling, but today I don't have any request for dresses."

"Oh." Pinkie pie's mane flattened, and her ears drooped. "I see."

"Wait! Pinkie pie!" Rarity stopped her friend from exiting the room. "We can still make a dress together." She said with a wide smile. "I have nothing else to do today, so-"

"No. I don't want to force you to do that..." Pinkie pie said with a saddened look. Her mane and tail hung low along with her head.

"Um... uh.." Rarity looked around her boutique, trying to think of what she could do to keep her fluffy-haired friend entertained. Then her eyes came across a mirror, and Rarity saw her messy bed-mane. She gave a look of disgust at her reflection, but then smiled widely.

"Pinkie pie! I know what you can help me with!" Rarity said clapping her hooves in glee.

"Really? What is it?" Pinkie pie said, her eyes shinning with enthusiasm.

"I need somepony with such talents to help me style my mane." Rarity said as she ran a hoof through her tangled mane.

"I don't know Rarity. I don't know how to do curly hair..." She said as she frowned at the ground a bit.

"Darling, it doesn't have to be curls. It can be whatever you'd like..." Rarity said as she placed a comforting hoof on Pinkie pie's shoulder.

"Anything..."

Pinkie pie smiled happily and her mane inflated back to it's original fluffiness.

"Okie dokie lokie! Where do we begin!"

To be honest. I regret allowing Pinkie pie to lay a hoof on my mane....
