This is the story of one that loved Luna’s night

"While the rest may sleep I am the one of few that embraces the her night my name is starlight"

"and I love the night Luna had given us I even say a small prayer as the moon is raised “may Luna’s gentle glow watch the land and protect us as the night turns crimson gold to gray”

"I bow as the moon rises. my mommy and daddy knew how much I loved the night and let me stay up til 10 on the weekdays and 1 on the weekends. I would go and dance under the beautiful moonlight a kind of ceremonial dance elegant and graceful, to insure she is praised just as much as her sister of the rising sun even if it is just me"
"After I finish my dance I wander under the stars and start to sing" “do not ask why she sets the sun as day to dark does turn one simple truth she dare not speak the sun can only blind and burn as the sun falls silent may the moonlight protect us all…
”I return home to lay my head to sleep “Luna bring me sweet dreams I yawn and drift off to a peaceful sleep to quickly find the rising sun."
"and say another prayer as the moon sets “may the moons light take her rest from its duty of keeping us safe” I bow to the moons setting and prepare for the day," "today we are learning in school the history of Princess Luna…"

“Dearest sister?” Luna questioned “dust thou think I could speak to this filly that not only dances and praises my night but also prays to my moon and for others," "this filly, hath not this moved thee to the very core as well with such adoration of my beautiful night”

“why yes sister I approve as well I don’t see why not" "she has blessing you, it would be a proper gesture to repay this gratitude with your presence it would both shock and delight her~”

"yes sister~ I shall later tonight even"

Back at home “Well today at school went rather well we were told all the history of Luna and I just soaked it up and even corrected Miss Cheerilee on a few things!" "And after saying my moon rising prayer I proceeded with my ceremonial dance and sang as I did so" [ “may the moons gentle glow protect and watch over us…"

"may the stars be guiding lights so the dreamers know their way…and give the sun time to sleep…”

“starlight thou hast moved thee with thy kind words, graceful dance, prayers to my moon, and prayers for your fellow ponies and so I have appeared before you now to show my utmost gratitude” she lands gracefully in front of her starlight bows quickly Luna smiles “dearest filly thou hast no need to bow if anything thee should bow to you for you have brought my night great joy as one who sings and dances to my night as well as pray protection for the ones that lay to rest"
"such jubilation's from you bring me great joy and as such I would like to grant thee one wish…no two wishes" "anything thine heart desires I shall make it so if it is within my powers…what say you?"

I was quickly taken aback by everything that had just transpired that I was speechless and quite dumbfounded.. “i… um..uh…” my cheeks turn red rubbing my foreleg on the back of my head “a-as my first wish…”I start shakily “I wish to…” growing in confidence “bring a light and understanding to your night as best as I can so everypony can see it for what it really is"…"and for my second wish if I may be so bold to ask my princess"…"I wish to serve you as your right hoof as both your sword in times of peril as well as an ambassador of sorts"… "Well for reasons I already said'… "so that way you don’t ever feel unloved because I’ll make sure you won’t turn into nightmare moon again…"

luna thought on this for a few moments… “My dearest filly I shall grant thine wishes return to your parents and tell them you are to be my prized and dearest student" "and if they allow pack your most precious items and we shall be off. Better yet I shall accompany thee to your home…hop on.."

"Princess I don’t deserve the honor… I am but a lowly earth pony" I avert my gaze as she takes a hoof and gently lifts my gaze to meet hers…"that dances and praises my night.." "please the honor is mine" she kneels to allow me access to her back as I hop on rather ungracefully “o-okay I’m ready” I steady myself and wrap my hooves around her neck loosely as she starts to take flight I shut my eyes with a small eep.

"sweet starlight open your eyes and see this flight I give to you as a gift, one of many to come" just then I slowly open my eyes to the lovely sight awestruck gasp I say “oh wow princess this is amazing” I giggle and let the feeling of the wind and the sight of ponyville far down below fill me with awe and wonder

“I see you now enjoy do you not?" luna asked

luna giggled "oh I do thank you so much OH~! there it is my house~" as I point luna starts descending in a spiral pattern gracefully lofting down as she finally touched down i quickly ran inside and found my parent’s awake and told them that luna was outside and to their surprise half bolted to the door upon seeing her they bowed

"by what do we owe this great honor" they asked

"you may rise I have something I would like t discuss with you about your most precious filly".. she said in a light almost motherly tone

Upon hearing the news that Starlight was to be the student of princess luna they where over joyed and agreed and just as they’d nodded starlight ran to gather her things, she packed her saddle bags with the essentials one would need on a trip as well as a few personal effects and she was off to the castle by royal flown by Luna’s wings as they landed in the castle she hopped off and unpacked her things and was allowed to sleep in the royal sisters chamber.

“come my student, let us indulge in royal cuddles as it is time for my elder sister to raise the sun…and time for me...us to take our rest" luna drapes a wing over me as i cuddle close and she sings me a lullaby as we both start drifting to sleep.

this is my second Romp into the scene i hope you all enjoy this one will be a more fleshed out chapter driven story
