Prologue

Ponyville: Present.

Buildings are burning, trees are dying and ponies were panicking on the streets of Ponyville. What a fucking way to spend the weeks with Clockwork and Derpy. I just hope Lyra and Bon Bon are handling the situation as well as they can.

You're probably wondering who is talking to you right now. Well I don't like introductions, but since I'm about to die, I'll tell you. My name is Flashlight. I'm 15 years old and, surprising enough, I'm the only one that can stop this problem. What makes it surprising is that I never thought of myself as an important piece of an important event. I always thought I would be a pawn for someone's diabolical plan, but the exact opposite happens instead.

I am actually the only one that can stop this madness, which is weird, yet awesome at the same time. But I don't think we should start there. Instead, lets go back ten weeks before all this happened. The day I unleash my fate. The day I became Equestria's source of light. The day I became their flashlight.
