Chapter 10: New beginning?

I wake up, laying in my bed. I didn't had much time recently to sleep normal ...

I climb out of my bed. I feel sorry for Star, but I think, I'm not ready yet for another mare. But no time to think about that.

I walk to the toilet and release everything, that was pleading to come out. Then I take my saddlebag and start running outside. Reaching, I look up in happiness. And this time, I am not to late, yes! Wait, why is Trotting looking so sad?

"Hey Trotting, everything alright?" He looks up, only now noticing that I'm here. "I'm afraid not, Light."

"But I wasn't to l-" He pushes his hoof on my muzzle, before letting out a sad sigh. "I know, it's not about you. Somepony buyed or mail station."

"Really? What's so bad about?" He then looks straight into my eyes. "She doesn't want us as workers."

"Huh?" He sighs and looks away from me. "Just ... let's say ... I, you, Derpy and Sweet ... okay, Sweet is dead ... fired."

"What? No! I love this job, it's made for me!" He still looks away. "Then try another town. Your work here is done. Here, 1.000 bits."

He throws a little sack full with the bits inside. "It's the money we all got. You should start finding something new, Light. I told Derpy already about the situation. Well, good bye I guess ..."

He waves lazily with one hoof, before walking away from me ... why me? Why is my life breaking so much now?

"Light?" I look up to her, tears already forming. "Twilight? W-What is it?"

"I know, today is the ceremony, but already sobbing?" I look back to the ground. "W-what? Oh, nono, it's something different ... I lost my job."

"What? I'm sorry, Light ..." I let out a heavy sigh. "It's okay."

"Light, listen. Everypony thinks, that I asked Fluttershy to sing. They don't know, if she even comes. Did you kn-"

"Twilight. We should go." Rising and Star, who still looks disappointed about yesterday, walking to us. "Oh, yeah. Sorry. Are you coming, Light?"

"I coming a bit later. I just bring my saddlebag back home and the bits." They nodding, Star not even looking to me. "Okay, see you then."

All 3 start walking away. I take the closed sack on my back and start walking back home. I walk inside and put the sack and saddlebag down. I sit down on the wooden ground, holding my hooves over my eyes. I still can't believe that ... first my special somepony dies ... then my friend from the other world ... both dead ... no sign of that unicorn ... and now my jobs gone too? Is destiny hating me that much?

I walk back out and walk to the place, where the ceremony will be. On my way, I saw a note pinned on a tree.

"Big help needed. Big MacIntosh hurted. - Applejack. Hmmm, not my way of working, but better then nothing. I keep that in mind and ask her later."

I continue my way and reach it finally. I make my way to the front of the crowd, so that Fluttershy ... IF she really comes ... can see me. Celestia and Luna stepping on the podium, looking to the crowd. Celestia starts to talk. "Today, we are all here, to say a good pony, good bye. Most of you may don't even know him, but for those ponies here, he was something special. A nice stallion ... a good friend ... a special somepony ... but at the end, he helped us all. Without him, without his dying wish ... we all wouldn't be here right now. Thanks to him and our newest Princess, Twilight Sparkle, a pony named Black Star, wouldn't be back to normal. We would be still captured. And some of you would be already dead. So let us say good bye to him. Dying is a rare thing in Equestria. It is always hard to lose somepony forever. Always. I saw ponies come and go. Mayby some of you too. But life goes on. And for him and all the other ones, who already gone, we should continue life. Remember the dead, but still continue life. And now a minute of silence for or friend."

We all stay quiet for a whole minute. I think back about Sky Love. But Celestia is right. We have to continue ... we shouldn't get stopped by the ponies who are gone ...

"Thank you all. Our friend Fluttershy made a little song for him, after talking with Twilight." That is what Twilight means. They all think, she talked to Fluttershy.

Fluttershy steps to the podium, looking to me with a *They think, she talked to me*-face. Then she smiles to me.

"T-thank you. I don't know him good, but Twilight told me about him. He was a good pony. She asked me, if I can sing the short text, she gave me." She look again to me with the same face. " Normally, I wouldn't, but I think, for her, I should do. From Twilight, for Sweet, if you can hear us ..."

She looks to me, her eyes concentrating on me only, trying to think everypony away. I hope, she make it.

She did it ... and it sounded beautiful.

I hear some ponies crying, but I smile to Fluttershy. I stay here, until everypony was gone.

After Celestia and Luna making their ways back to Canterlot, I walk on the podium to Fluttershy. "That was great! I honestly didn't expected, that you would even come. I'm glad that I could helped you."

"Thank you, Light. I was afraid and scared, but you helped me a lot. I have to look for Angel now, that cute little troublemaker, thank you again." And then she gives me a quick kiss on my cheek before walking away. Did that just really happened? Fluttershy ... kissed me? What is just wrong with me? First Star, now Fluttershy? Who is the next mare, who likes me more then usual?! Should I really find a new mare? I still don't know yet ... I should go to Sweet Apple Acres. For a new job. Even when it's probably just for one day.

I start walking to the farm. It is not that far from here, around 10 minutes.

When I reach it, I see Applejack already kicking on a tree. "I heard, you need some help?"

I see all apples falling perfectly into the baskets, that are standing under the tree. "Here for help, ya? Sure, show me, what ya got, sugarcube!"

I walk to another tree. With all my running my hooves should be strong, so I hope, I can do that.

I turn around and kick with all I got against the tree. 5 apples fall down. "Good enough?"

"Ya better then the most that tried. Most of them got about 2 apples." She smiles. "Good to know, that I'm something special."

We both laugh a little.

"Think, ya gonna can hold up the whole day?" I nod. "I can give my best."

"Alright, sugarcube." I continue to kick on trees. Slowly, from tree to tree, I getting better. She gives me tips, to help me.

It was a hard day and she is definitly better then me. I think, it's already like 6 PM, when we were both sitting on a tree. "Ya gettin' better, sugarcube. I think, a few weeks, and ya could be a great worker here."

I turn to her, a bit surprised. "Really? That would be great, I just lost my job today."

"Ya a bad pony?" I shake my head fast. "Nono, nothing like that. I was the best in there. But somepony buyed it and kicked us out. It would be great, if I could work here. Even when it was hard, It was fun today. I really needed that."

"Ya can work here, if ya want." She smiles to me. "GREAT! I mean, thanky."

"Thanky?" I chuckle a little. "Thank and you mixed together. Got that from Sky Love."

"Sky? I knew her." I nod sadly. "Yeah, she lived in Ponyville, until ..."

She look to me and nod her head, to give me a sign that she knows, what happened. "Well. Thanky, you make this day way better then it started, Applejack. Hard working really does help, to forget all the bad thoughts."

"No prob, sugarcube." I stand up, stretching myself. "Well, see you tomorrow?"

"Monday." I nod and look to her. "Okay, got it. Monday at ..."

"6 AM!"

Wow, that is really soon!

"Six, got it! See you!" She waves with her hoof, before laying her front hooves behind her head, lowering her hat to hide her face. I walk back to town, when I meet Rising and Star again. Since the last weeks happened, my life has changed completly. And working on the apple farm helped me too. I think, I know, what the best for me is now.

"Hey Rising and Star." Rising looks to me. "Oh, hey, Light. Coming from the apple farm?"

"Yep. Working there now, after I lost my old job." He smiles. "Ah yeah, right. I heard, you brought Fluttershy to sing? You really earned her trust, huh?"

"Looks like that ... hey Star." She didn't looked at me the whole time. I walk to her and raise her head with my hoof. I thought about that and I think, the time has come. I kiss her, right on her muzzle. She looks definitly surprised. "Light?"

I stop kissing her and look back to Rising. "Have something against her new special somepony?"

I think, she realized now, what happened in this moment. "No, nothing. But care good for her."

She still looks to me, a smile appearing on her face. "R-really, Light?"

"Definitly, Star." She then hug me. "Is it okay, when I sleep with you?"

"Uhm, sure, why not?" She screams happily. "Rising?!"

"Go ahead, you are grown up afterall, Star." She hug him then. "Thank you, Rising!"

She then looks back to me. "Let's go."

"See you, Rising!" He waves happily. "Yup."

I walk with her to my home and open the door. She walks in and I lock it from inside. She started looking around my house. "Tell me if you find something interesting!"

"Wanna sleep?" I look surprised. "Already? It's not even 9 yet."

"But I'm tired. It surprised me so much, that you do love me, that I'm tired. Please."

Fine.

"Okay, but only today. You can sleep in my bed and I ..." She grabs my hoof. "Sleep with me ... I want to have you with me."

I really don't know, what to say. She looks really cute to me.

"Fine." I start walking upstairs and she follows me, her tail swishing happily. She jumps on my bed and I lay down next to her. "You make this sad day to a happy ending, Light."

"Sure." I give her a quick kiss and close my eyes then. From all of the possible things to think about, I start to think about Applejack. Somehow, I know her from somewhere, I guess ... but from where?

"Night, Light."

"Night, Star."

I slowly drift off, still thinking about the apple pony ...
