A very very special party
"I just wanted to impress you..."
"Me?"
"Yes. You made me the party pony I am today..."
"Oh Cheese..." Pinkie looked deep into Cheese Sandwich's eyes, "I think I love you..."
"I love you too Pinkie." Just as Cheese leaned in to kiss the pink party pony, he woke up.
He sat up on the picnic blanket which served as his bed. He looked at boneless 2 laying beside him.
"Well boneless 2, where do we go now?"
The rubber chicken squeaked under his hoof.
"No. We can't go back to Ponyville."
The chicken squeaked again.
"I'm not in love with Pinkie Pie! You know she already has a very very serious stallion friend!" Suddenly his cheese sense tingled. "What a doozy!" Cheese Sandwich packed up and headed back the way he came.
"Twilight! Twiliiiiiiiight!!!" Pinkie was running around the Ponyville library frantically searching for the purple alicorn. The pink pony had streamers in her mane and tail, popped balloons littered the ground around her.
"What is it Pinkie?" Twilight said groggily as she walked down the stairs.
"I need your help planning the best party ever for the very very best pony in Equestria!"
"Can't that wait another three hours at least until six?" Twilight looked sleepily at Pinkie. She closed her eyes and when she opened them Pinkie stood in front of her leaving less than a hoof between their muzzles.
"But you have to have to have to help me and we have to have to have to start now..." She moved forward until her nose was scrunched up against Twilight's, "pleeeeeeaaaaassssseeee" she insisted with the largest, cutest, teariest eyes she could muster.
"Fine." Twilight said stepping backwards a few hooves.
"Thankyouthankyouthankyouthankyou Thank You!" Pinkie exclaimed bouncing around the library.
"Twilight? Did Trixie come over for the weekend again?" Spike asked as he peered into the library rubbing an eye and dragging his blanket behind him.
Once Twilight had brushed her teeth and mane, she followed Pinkie to the town hall where Cheerilee's birthday would be held.
"So I was thinking smiley flower balloons like her cutie mark. Lots of them. What do you think?" Pinkie turned to Twilight inquiring.
"I think that sounds great Pinkie. I really don't think you need my help." Twilight answered.
"Well, normally I wouldn't but then I decided I wanted to make a book maze!"
"A what?"
"A book maze out of all of her favorite books!"
"Celestia help me." Twilight murmured. "That sounds great Pinkie!" She said in mock excitement, not wanting to disappoint her friend.
Several hours and many stacks of books later, the maze was done and Pinkie decided to get started on the cake, so naturally, she headed down to sugar cube corner. When she arrived she rushed in the doors to ask the cakes about her brilliant idea and in all her excitement, she ran straight into the pony on his way out of the shop.
"Owie." Pinkie looked up before shouting, "Cheese Sandwich?!"
Cheese looked just as surprised. "Pinkie!" He smiled.
"What are you doing here? I thought you left Ponyville!"
"I did but my Cheese senses told me to come back."
"Oh well, that's great! I have to go order a cake, I'll see you later!" Pinkie bounced away into the bakery.
Cheese sat on the steps where he had fallen for a few more minutes, he thought about the energetic pink pony that had just bounced off.
"Hi Mr. and Mrs. Cake!"
"Hello Pinkie, why was the delightful young colt, Cheese Sandwich, asking for you?" Mr. Cake asked.
"He was looking for me?" Pinkie asked.
"Why yes. Something about realizing his true affections..." Mrs. Cake looked at her husband, they looked excited. However, when Pinkie mentioned the very very special cake for Cheerilee, their excitement vanished.
"Um, sure thing Pinkie. We got it, you can go finish everything else you need to do now." Said Mr. Cake pushing her out the door.
"But-"
"Off you go! We'll have the cake ready soon!" He closed the door behind her. "Well what do we do now? A perfectly good stallion is courting her but she still thinks she's a filly fooler!"
"We have to support Cheese Sandwich. I just know he can sweep her off her feet and make her realize the error of her ways!" Mrs. Cake said leaning into Mr. Cake to comfort him. "But for now, let's get started on that cake."
Pinkie sat outside the door she had just been pushed out of questioningly. Why had they pushed her out like that? Oh well. She decided to get up and bounce back to the town hall to finish the decorating.
"Princess! Princess!" Cheese called after Twilight.
"Oh, hi Cheese Sandwich. What are you doing here? I thought you left Ponyville." Twilight answered once she realized she was being called.
"I did, but I'm back. Where can I find Pinkie Pie?" Twilight raised a brow before flashing a knowing smile.
"Try the town hall."
"Thanks." He shouted as he ran off.
"Because I love to make you smile smile smile,
Yes I do,
It fills my heart with sunshine..." Pinkie sang as she worked.
"Hi Pinkie." Cheese came up behind her.
"Oh! Is this a game? How many times can we meet the other pony today? I want to play!" Pinkie squealed while doing flips on her trampoline.
"Um, no. But it could be, but I really just wanted to see if I could help."
"Oo! Yes! This party is for the most special pony in all the special ponies in Equestria!" Pinkie got visibly excited.
"Oh, is it your...stallion friend...?"
"What are you talking about silly? I don't have a stallion friend!" Pinkie said as if it was a ridiculous question.
"Oh that's great! Well, I mean not great that you're alone, but yes-"
"I have a MARE friend!" Cheese Sandwich's jaw dropped. He was too shocked to be disappointed or upset.
