Eclipsed

I open my eyes to a pub,my fellow soldiers enjoying a drink,I turn my head,the walls have a banner decorated with a black pegasus wing,I shake some of the alchohol off and I rub my eyes,ah the banners of the Third Pegasus,a literal piece of history that they don't teach in Equestrian history,everypony would like to forget about it,Equestria split in three,the Earth Ponies,trying to break free from the Alicorn Matriarchy,the Unicorns ever still defouted to their princess,and the pegasi,taking over what seems little now....i'm getting ahead of myself,my head is throbbing and I stumble to my hooves.

Loud music plays and pegasi dancing,drinking,kissing,I hold my drink down as I stumble out of the pub and I wander out in Prance's light streets,I can still hear the music in the pub as I leave.

The dimming street lights swirl and fade in and out,I stumble drunkily as I lean into an alleyway to vomit.

Something moves in the corner of my eyes,I blink and the figure of a lean stallion fades into sight,I barely react as he stabs into my leg.

My world snaps back to reality and I swing my hooves at my attacker,i'm saddly drunk as hell and I can barely fight against my attacker. A final stab into my chest knocks me out.

I snap awake,i'm in my bed,my wife next to me,its dark out.

I had a nightmare,one of many in my years after the war that even I cannot forget,years of failure in forgeting what i've done,by Luna i've tried.

I lie down,I don't sleep taking risk in having another dream good or bad,i'm left to my thoughts as the night slowly fades away
