//-------------------------------------------------------// Dizzy's heartache -by Fluttershy7120- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue //-------------------------------------------------------// Prologue My name is Dizzy. I am the son of the draconequus Havoc and the mare Cloud Swirl. Discord (I'm sure you know him) is my uncle, and Screwball is my cousin. I've only met Discord a select number of times, as mom never really liked him, nor trusted him around me. Dad is Discord's brother, they were best buds, and as you may have guessed, I'm named after my uncle. My dad died in a factory accident in the weather factory. He worked for Cloudsdale Weather Industries, because Draconequuses have amazing talents with weather. He wasn't scheduled to work that day, but his boss called and said they needed more rainbows, and that he was going to help make them. He was so excited, because that was the first time he would learn how they were made. The recipe to a rainbow is top secret, only the boss of the whole industry and a select other few know. Some say that the raw rainbow before it touches oxygen is so strong, that some ponies go mad just looking at it. Before he left, he promised that he would make the brightest rainbow, just for me. He never came home. He kept his promise though, and later that day, they was a beautiful rainbow in the sky, the brightest I've ever seem. A while ago, maybe nine months, mom started dating a stallion called Filthy Rich. A stallion! Not a draconaquus, a stallion! Like, a pony! He was really nice, he always gave me sweets and took me out for icecream. I'm not in school, you see, so he took me for icecream when all the other foals were in school. I always felt so special. He told me about his daughter, her name was Diamond Tiara. One day, he brought her to the icecream shop with me as well. She smiled and introduced herself, which I did I'm return. She was so sweet! Diamond introduced me to her pony friend Silver Spoon, she was sweet as sugar too! They took me to the movies and we watched The Trotting Dead, they didn't even tease me about being scared! Mom asked me what my opinion was on them (just in case the subject of marriage came up) and I told the truth, I said that I loved Filthy Rich and his daughter. Filthy is always understanding of me and my shyness, and Diamond doesn't get upset when I embarrass her in public, which I have done on occasion. One time we were in a nice little grassy field, Silver, Diamond and I. I never told anyone, but I am can't cast magic properly. I never could. I agreed to show them my magic after they had been begging for a while. I closed my eyes and concentrated. I let magic flow into my horn, making sure it was only unicorn magic. My nerves got the best of me, however, and the magic exploded from my horn, resulting in the mixture of two kinds of magic, which should never happen. A bright pink cotton candy cloud appeared above me, releasing a downpour of sticky chocolate milk mess. Diamond was standing to my right, and Silver Spoon to my left, meaning that both of them were caught in the mess. I was so embarrassed! They just smiled and said it was okay, and that everypony makes mistakes. I was so surprised that they weren't mad! I mean, the whole day they were fawning over each other's manes, which were professionally styled that morning. I thanked them for understanding, and I could have sworn that I saw Diamond's eye twitch, but it must have been a trick of the light. They walked me home, all of us still covered in sticky milk. They smiled and gave me a sticky hug goodbye, and when I closed the front door, I thought I heard angered yells coming from outside. I brushed it off and went into the kitchen to make dinner for myself, because mom had gone on a fancy date with Mr. Rich. After dinner I watched TV until my mom came back. A little after midnight, just when I was just getting sleepy, my mom burst into the house screaming. I ran up to her, thinking that she was hurt or something, but she just hugged me and her smile was so big, I was worried it would split her face. After half an hour of trying to calm her down, she told me that Filthy proposed! . They got married in this big wedding and afterwards, we all went to the Rich's home. I was allowed to sleep in the guest room, and Filthy and Mom slept together. I woke up to breakfast in bed, served by their wonderful servants. I thanked the young stallion that brought my food, waiting until he left to dig in. I got pancakes, waffles, syrup, hay bacon and everything else in between! It was so nice. After I ate, I got ready for the day. Nothing fancy, really. I just combed my black mane and red tail, quickly preened my Pegasus wing of stray feathers, stretched out my dark bat wing, and brushed my teeth (including my snaggletooth, which was apparently a common trait in the Draconaquus species). All was perfect, until I heard someone come into the room. I didn't pay much attention, but I should have. Two hooves slammed me against the wall, angry blue eyes staring into mine, which were filled with fear. "Listen up, halfbreed. I just want to say one thing. Stay away from Cloud, and I'll stay away from you. Try to win her affection, and trust me, you'll regret it" my attacker spat. I nodded frantically, which resulted in being let go and dropped to the ground. I scrambled to my hooves, breathing heavily as I watched the pink tail of my attacker leave the room. What. Just. Happened. //-------------------------------------------------------// Memories //-------------------------------------------------------// Memories I guess I should start at the beginning, shouldn't I? Technically the beginning is before all this started, when my dad was still alive. He was an awesome dad, always picking me up when I fell. He knew things that mom never did, things only a father would know about his son. He knew how to make me laugh when I was about to cry, knew how to make me smile when I was down. He and I had this connection, you know? Sure, mom is great, but she won't ever fill the empty spot in my heart, that ~~was~~ is Dad's spot. On my 7th birthday, I had a great big party planned. There were balloons, streamers, even a pinata! I invited all of the fillies and colts I knew, most were just ponies I met in the playground. I invited over fifty foals, I was so excited. I sat by the front door and I waited, the biggest smile on my muzzle. Ten minutes past, nopony here. So I waited. Half hour later, still nopony, but I just sat and waited. One hour, one and a half, two full hours after the set time, and my smile had been reduced to an slight frown. My mismatched eyes looked around for somepony, anypony to appear. But no one did. My dad came up behind me and put a paw on my shoulder. I looked back at him, trying hard to keep my eyes from watering as he looked at me with such sad eyes. "Dizzy, they aren't coming" I let out a shaky breath and stood up from my seat on the front step, my rump was cold despite the early afternoon sun. "I know" I said simply, wiping my eyes with my yellow hoof and putting on a weak smile "It's fine, daddy. They must have been busy" I said. He just sighed, putting on a smile of his own. He snapped his fingers, making a large black jacket appear, obviously not made for a pony. He slipped his arms into the sleeves and pulled a smaller, yet identical jacket out of thin air. He tossed it to me and I caught it, a confused look on my face "Why do we need jackets? We aren't going anywhere, and it's warm outside. And mom said you aren't allowed to use chaos magic in the house" I said pointedly, slipping the black jacket onto me, making sure to be careful when I slipped my wings through the wing holes. My dad chuckled "I'm not in the house, am I?" he planted his goat leg outside, on the concrete steps, and his lizard leg in the doorway. I rolled my eyes at his antics, they got old after a while. I let out a little yelp as I was swept off my hooves, having been picked up by my father. He made sure to hold me as he flew up into the air, going slower than usual so that I didn't get scared. "It's your birthday, for Luna's sake, we need to have a party, don't we?" I cocked my head in confusion at my dad's statement, opening my mouth to speak, only to be cut off as he continued talking "Don't try to deny it, you were disappointed that the foals didn't show up. That's why I'm taking you to the weather factory" My eyes lit up, I've never been there before! After a few moments, we landed on a soft white cloud and he set me down. "Here you go! I'm not scheduled to work this week, so we can come up here anytime you want, all week!" he said cheerfully, smiling at his co-workers as they passed him. A bulky orange stallion walked up "Hey Havoc, this your kid?" My dad nodded "The one and only" Another stallion walked up, this one was brown with a creamy white mane. He stood beside the first pony "Hey Hoops, the boss wants y-" he stopped talking and smirked as he saw the father and son "Hey Clutterbox, what's up?" he said with a laugh, which was met with a playful roll of the eyes from my dad. "Nothing since yesterday, Score" 'Score' saw me and took a step forward "Lemme guess, your kid?" Dad nodded proudly "As of today, he's seven" Both the bulky pegasi looked at me with smiles "Happy Birthday, kiddo!" they said, and the orange one ruffled my mane playfully. I laughed and shook my head, trying to get my black mane orderly again. Dad and them talked for a few minutes, but they were yelled at for slacking off from the boss, so they quickly got back to work. I looked around the factory in awe. In front of me was a huge building, rainbows pouring out of the top floor, the beautiful white walls of the factory making the bright liquid rainbow look even more spectacular. "Daddy, how are rainbows made?" I asked. He shrugged "I have no idea. Only a select few workers know. Some say, the raw rainbow colours are so powerful, some ponies go mad just looking at it" he said. My eyes widened "whoa" We spent the whole day in the factory, he showed me the storm room, the cloud room, the wind room, and all the other rooms. I couldn't believe how beautiful it all was! When the sun set and the moon started to rise, we headed home. It was the best birthday I ever had! When we got home, supper was just about ready, so dad and I sat down at the table with mom and I told her all about it. I accidentally mentioned dad's use of chaos magic, and mom gave him "The Look'. He smiled sheepishly and tried to get himself out of trouble. Mom hated it when Dad used chaos magic, she always told Dad (When she thought I couldn't hear her) "I don't want my son to grow up to become like your brother, keep your magic away from him" Two days later, Mom, Dad and I were eating breakfast when Dad got a call. He answered the phone "Havoc here" "Oh, hi boss, what's up?" "What? Really? Wow, that's great!" Mom and I looked at Dad, then to each other, then back to Dad. "I'll be there in 20" Dad hung up the phone with a huge grin "The boss just called, I've been promoted to the rainbow factory!" He said excitedly. Mom got up from her seat and hugged him "That's so amazing, Havoc!" she said, her lime green eyes sparkling. I jumped up and down, hopping like a bunny "Awesome, Daddy!" He walked to the front door and put on his white work coat. "I'm gonna make the brightest rainbow, just for you Dizzy" He promised, leaning down and ruffling my mane. I laughed and pushed his paw away "Alright Dad" He gave a quick kiss to Mom and opened the front door, walking out happily. He didn't come home. Later that day, though, I looked into the sky and saw the brightest, most brilliant rainbow I've ever seen. He kept his promise. //-------------------------------------------------------// Filthy Rich //-------------------------------------------------------// Filthy Rich Dad disappeared the day after I turned 7 years old. A little over a year later, my mom got into a business relationship with a stallion named Filthy Rich. Strictly business, she always said. He was a sponsor or something for her. She was a singer, her songs were the most beautiful thing I've ever heard. Everytime Mom performed, Mr. Rich advertised her shows and went to them, sitting in the best seats, showing other ponies that he liked her music. After a few months, Mom's shows were always sold out after only a day or two, and if she was performing, the whole town knew. After one of her performances, Filthy invited her out for a celebratory dinner. I was at home, since I wasn't allowed to attend her late night concerts. She came home the next morning with a smile so big I thought it might split her face. Mom told me the news, and I was so shocked! Happy, but shocked! She went out to meet up with him for dinner, and I was left alone. I was so excited! If mom married Filthy, then I would be closer to Diamond! And if I was closer to Diamond, I would be closer t--oh yeah, I should probably tell you about Diamond. She is super nice, the second sweetest filly I've ever met. Well, Filthy always takes me out for icecream every weekend. We have a special table at Bon Bon's confectionery and icecream shop that we always sit at. One day he brought along his daughter, and I was a bit upset. It was always just us, not anypony else. But Diamond actually turned out to be a really nice filly! She was super sweet and didn't mention my weird looks or my unusual speech pattern. I usually got teased for it, along with my looks, magic problems, and family. Yeah, I got teased a lot. So anyways, about Diamond. Sh---shoot, mom's calling me for supper. Filthy and DT are coming over today, I'll continue telling you my story tomorrow. Author's Note Sorry for short chapter. Life is hectic lately, but I felt bad for not updating. Just a little poll, I've been thinking of writing a Pony Games (hunger games theme) fanfic, but I'm not sure if it would be enjoyed. Would you guys like a fanfic like that? I've looked for those kind of fanfictions, but I've only found about 3. Out of those 3, two haven't been updated for a year or more, and one has been cancelled. So are they being stopped because no one likes them, or the writer's lost their muse?
