Nightfall At Ponyville:

Ark stepped onto the train platform with Twilight still curled up in his arms. “Home at last.” He smiled.

AJ was carrying a still mostly out of it Dash on her shoulders. “I hope she’ll be alright by tomorrow…” She said.

“Dphhhhnnl…” Dash mumbled.

“I wouldn’t worry… I mean sleep cures a lot of things.” Ark said.

“What are ya gonna tell me it can heal all wounds?” AJ asked sarcastically.

“Nooooo… that’s just stupid… why would it do that?” Ark asked.

AJ just stared at Ark.

“I bet she’s just fatigued. Sleep helps with that.” Ark said.

As they all continued onto the platform there was a sudden burst of magical energy.

“What was that?” Ark questioned.

“Me.” A calming female voice said behind them.

Everyone turned around to see Luna standing there clearly having just teleported in.

“I expected to visit you all after you had gotten home… I didn’t think train rides were interesting enough to ride it twice around.” Luna chuckled.

“Princess.” Rarity said.

“It’s nice seein ya Princess.” AJ said.

“Likewise.” Luna smiled.

“It’s good seeing you again.” Ark said with a small smile.

“So much talking…” Twilight mumbled sleepily as she started to wake up.

“It’s nice to see you too Twilight.” Luna chuckled.

Twilight stiffened up for a moment before her head snapped to Luna a wide smile plastered across it, “Princess Luna! I didn’t know you were coming for a visit!” She said happily.

“Oh? And do I have to announce every time I take a step?” Luna asked, raising an eyebrow.

“No! I just didn’t expect to see you outside of Canterlot!” Twilight said quickly.

Luna laughed quietly. “I’m only joking.” She said, opening her arms for a hug.

Twilight got out of Ark’s arms and quickly ran up to Luna and hugged her. “I’m so happy that you’re here.” She said.

“The feeling is mutual. It’s always good to see a friend like you.” Luna said.

“Why don’t you come back to my house with us? I’d love to talk with you.” Twilight said.

“That sounds perfect.” Luna nodded.

“I’ll go get started with the food and drinks then.” Ark said before he rushed back to the house.

“So Twilight… why don’t you tell me of your recent escapades?” Luna laughed.

“I’d be happy to.” Twilight smiled.

“And Dash ended up flooded completely with magic. Thankfully she’ll be alright.” Twilight said.

“I see you’ve been busy…” Luna said, feebly attempting to hide the red mixed in with the dark blue of her face.

“Mmhm. ” Twilight nodded, as she looked into the kitchen at him a slightly worried look did cross her face. She sighed quietly before she looked back at Luna.

“Something the matter?” Luna asked.

“I’ve just been a little worried about Ark… The last time we slept and I woke up I noticed he was shivering… but we were so wrapped up together under the blankets that he couldn’t have been cold…” Twilight said.

Luna glanced into the kitchen before looking back to Twilight. “If I told you I had visited his dreams once, and they weren’t as pleasant as yours or mine… What would you say?” She asked.

“I’d want to help him then.” Twilight said.

“It seems he is wracked with guilt of his life before he met you. His antipathy is great, hating the man he used to be and the lives countlessly wasted…” Luna said.

“I still want to help him… in anyway I can…” Twilight said quietly. “Even if it’s something… I don’t understand.”

“I’m sure just being with him is the best thing you can do until he is ready you talk about it.” Luna said.

“Celestia once told me… the best way to deal with a fear is right at its’ source.” Twilight said.

“But getting to the source isn’t always easy.” Luna said.

“Yeah…” Twilight nodded.

Ark came out of the kitchen with a tray of food, “Food’s done.” He said as he sat the tray down on the table in front of the two of them. “If either of you need anything don’t hesitate to ask.” He smiled.

“Why don’t you take a seat?” Luna suggested.

Ark took a seat beside Twilight and wrapped an arm over her shoulders.

Twilight looked over at Ark before she laid her head down on his shoulder.

“So Ark, how have you been doing?” Luna asked.

“Great. How have you been?” Ark said.

“Just fine… The night holds great mysteries, but even I have to admit it gets lonely sometimes.” Luna sighed.

“I wouldn’t doubt that… but sometimes being alone give you time to learn about everything around you.” Ark said.

“True.” Luna nodded.

“I know that it won’t always be lonely. I’m sure you’ll find someone who will be there with you all the time.” Ark said.

“Thank you for the thought.” Luna smiled.

“If you wanted to stay the night I don’t mind.” Twilight said. “I’m sure I can stay awake all night long.”

“You did get a lot of sleep on the train.” Ark chuckled. “And you were so cute while you were doing it.”

Twilight stared at Ark.

“You did start to nibble on my thumb right after the mini-orgy that happened…” He teased.

Twilight’s face turned slightly red and she looked down at the ground.

“You two do seem adorable together…” Luna laughed.

Ark smiled and kissed Twilight’s cheek.

“Thanks…” Twilight mumbled.

“So what’s this about… orgies?” Luna asked, scooting closer.

“For once I’m going to hang back out of it… I haven’t had any sleep since last night.” Ark yawned.

“Yeah… You need it.” Twilight said, nuzzling against Ark.

Ark smiled and closed his eyes as he laid back on the couch. After a few moments it was clear that he had fallen asleep.

“Luna could you… show me a few things?” Twilight asked.

“Like what?” Luna asked curiously.

“I’ve been wondering about the magic that you use to get into other’s dreams.” Twilight said bluntly.

“And? What about it?” Luna questioned.

“Could you show me how to use it?” Twilight asked.

“I see you wish to see his dreams for yourself.” Luna said with an almost saddened smiled.

“Yes… I do.” Twilight nodded.

“Very well. but if you’re planning on using it to… mm, never mind.” Luna shook her head.

“I promise I won’t use it on anyone who wouldn’t want me to.” Twilight said.

Luna laughed. “Oh Twilight… that’s not what I meant. It’s not as if I haven’t seen your dreams unknowingly.” She said, eyeing Twilight.

Twilight nervously chewed on her lip.

“Well then… let us begin.” Luna started.

Luna found herself in what appeared to be the same field as the previous dream Ark had. This time not only was Twilight with her but the entire field appeared almost untouched, wheat and barely grew all around them alongside a mixture of other crops. In a large circular clearing an armored Ark sat calmly in the center a long sword planted firmly in the ground in front of him.

“This isn’t what I expected to be seeing…” Twilight said quietly. “Should… we get closer?”

“Should you choose to, I cannot stop you.” Luna said.

Twilight closed her eyes for a moment before she walked forward towards Ark. As she approached the wall of the clearing the sky seemed to fade slowly to dusk. When she entered the clearing Ark’s head turned to her.

“Twilight… what are you doing here?” He asked curiously, no anger detectable in his voice.

“I… I just wanted to see… if you were okay.” Twilight said.

“I’m fine.” He said, patting the ground beside himself.

Twilight quickly sat down beside him and stared at him silently.

“I’m sure you have plenty of questions about what’s going on.” Ark said in a half joking manner. “I can give you the short answer if you want.”

“Whatever makes you comfortable.” Twilight shrugged.

“I don’t know.” Ark said as he looked back up at the sky. “You know, as peaceful as it may seem this place isn’t that for me… well it wasn’t.”

“You seem much happier with me… So I think I already knew that.” Twilight said.

“In the short time I’ve known yo- Okay… I’m not that cheesy.” Ark laughed.

“That’s fine… I can go make some nachos.” Twilight joked.

Ark chuckled before he gently grabbed her hand. “You want to know something?” He asked.

“Sure?” Twilight said.

“As overly cliche as this will sound and… trust me I’ve lived my fair share of them so far… before I came here.. well to Equestria… I had the same nightmare Luna found me in every night since the day it happened… and look at what’s happened now…” He said, motioning to the surreal calm that surrounded them. “And I know it’s because of you.”

Twilight smiled and wrapped her arms around him.

Ark returned the embrace. “I love you so much…” He said.

“I love you too.” Twilight said softly, closing her eyes as she nuzzled against him.

“I was going to do something here… but just for the sake of getting settled down I feel it should wait a little longer…” He said quietly. “And don’t worry… you’ll love the surprise…”

Twilight stared at him with a growing curiosity burning in her eyes.

Ark smiled, “It’s a surprise.” He said.

“Well surprise me then…” She whispered, climbing into Ark’s lap.

Ark kissed her and held her tightly. “Dream sex… that’s a new one even on me…” He chuckled, Twilight now found she was against his naked body.

“Mm… Why don’t we give Luna a show?” Twilight asked.
