Odd's and End's

Ross walked through the hall's of the hospital he had a promise to keep .

Raindrops lay on the bed looked up at the ceiling the blue beret still on her head and she was bored "You OK Drop's?" She looked at the door to find Ross stood in the open door. "David!" She scrambled over to the door and jumped up, taking him in a hug. Which Ross returned. "What you doing here?" Ross pulled his gas mask off and fixed it and the helmet to a his left pauldron. "Keeping a promise which nurse is in-charge of looking after you?." Ross smiled at her and Raindrops smiled back her wings rustling slightly in there bandages "Redhart she should be here soon" "Well we'll wait hear."

Redhart walked along the corridor her normal poster was slumped and she was showing tiredness having had to worked all night after a fight broke out at a refuge camp that resulted in a lot of pony's needing medical attention.

"Red! How you holding up?" She turned to find Night Watch walking towards her. Redhart felt her hart skip a beat she was't afraid to admit to her self that she may have a bit of a crush on him.

He was wearing his black hospital security uniform that clashed with his short gray main. She avoided making eye contact with his purple one's "I'm...fine. You?" She risked a look and saw that his brown fir didn't hide the bag's under his eye's. "Well I'll be looking forward's to bed when I get home you?"

Redhart smiled "I think I'll be doing the same Watch but I got to go through the pediatric's..." She rubbed her tired, red eye's Night Watch gave a sad smile "How are they doing?" "Most are fine... but there there are one or two..." Redhart felt a speck dampness role down her cheek. More followed. "I'm sorry..." she said weakly turning from Night Watch "Hay hay whats the matter?" Redhart felt Night Watch put his for-leg round her shoulders.

Redhart knew it wasn't good to let her emotion's out on duty and on the ward but she didn't care.

"Sorry... I'v just been rushed off my hoof's ... I thought it was it bad enough that I was on pediatric's router but now... I'v seen what the book's skip over... what pony can to do to each other if they are willing..." Redhart closed her eye's as more tears rolled down her cheek's Night Watch held her letting Redhart let it out. He gave her a gentle squeeze and felt her lean into him slightly. "... Thank you." Night smiled as she pulled away and he took his leg from around her shoulder's "Will you be OK now?".
Redhart nodded and smiled the damp trails in her fir where the only indication that she had been crying.

There was a commotion behind her and she looked to see a crowd of filly's and other staff piled into Raindrops ... now dark room.
"O Celestia ... not her ... please..." Redhart mutter'd and she rushed to the door, Night Watch on her heel's.

Some of the filly's in care had seen there parent's or close friend's been killed, most sported injury's from when that happened. It was't sadly unheard of one or two of them to commit suicide, unable to cope with what they had seen even with the best help of Canterlot hospital.

Night opened the door and the two ran in and they stoped dead. The children and staff where sat on the floor and bed. But Redhart's attention was caught by galaxy hanging in the air, it zoom'd in and started to go to planet's and naming them

"Earth. Cradle of humanity." "Mars. First colony." "Seraphim II. The quarantined planet" "Garnelis. Forge Planet. War hart of the UEF." The planet zoomed out and the galaxy came back.

The galaxy shifted to a fox looking round the room's occupant's, there was a soft murmur of awe came from the crowd as the fox turned into a white Pegasus flying through the cloud's, that then turned into a member of the Royal guard and one Luna guard the two, stood to attention saluted, stood easy then smiled and waved. To which a lot of the filly's waved back.

The image slowly faded out and the light came on reviling Ross stood ageist the wall opposite the crowd with a disk held in his palm "Thank you Lady's and Gentleman, Boys and Girl's I hope you enjoyed the hologram's." A small round of clapping came from the crowd as they started to leave.

Ross looked at Redhart and Night Watch "Impressed?" The two nodded "Where's Raindrops?" "Up here!" She called out from where she siting on Ross's shoulder's her head resting on top of his.

"Well David not that I'm not happy to see you but why are you here?" Redhart asked as Ross slipped the Holo-protector into his pocket.

"Keeping a promise I made. Will it be OK for me to take Raindrops out for a bit?" "No offense but you must understand that you are not her guardian or carer." Redhart explained and Ross nodded. "Are you a care or guardian Red?" She nodded "Well road trip? You look like you need a brake." Ross said. "No I d-" Redhart started but Night Watch interrupted.

"He...?" Watch looked at Ross for confirmation and received a nod. "He's right you need a brake you can't keep going like this." Redhart shook her head "No I can't plus I don't think Doctor Saw Bonus will let me off duty."

"On the contrary I think you are done. You've done a Ten hour shift." They all looked to find Doctor Saw Bones standing there. "Impressive light show David but Redhart you are to take Drop's out to do whatever it is David has in mind and they you will go home." Redhart stood there stammering trying to think of a excuse to not go home but she failed and relented "Yes Doctor."

The three walked down the street. Ross reviving look's and murmur's but he ignored them. Raindrops still on Ross's shoulder's "Why do they stare?" She asked looking round at all the faces looking at them "It's me. I'm different, odd." Ross said looking round.
"I don't think your odd." Ross smiled "Thanks Drops."

"Excuse me..." something asked. Ross turned round to find a pure white Unicorn with green eye's and a scroll and magnifying glass. "Can I help you?" Ross asked tentatively. "Yes Doctor Discover I was wondering if you help me?"

"Maybe?" Ross right had found it self resting on the pop stud of his holster

Ross watched as he pulled a cloth out of some where. "What dose this smell of?"

Ross was amused. How thick did he think he was!?!

"What's that?" Ross said pointing down the street. Dr. Discovery turned to look giving Ross a perfect angle. Ross swung his leg and with a fleshy crunch he steel toed boot met Discovery's testicle's. Discovery squirrel was muffled as Ross held the cloth over his muzzle. Discovery fought like a cornered cat but his flaying quickly stopped.

"Wow." Ross quickly pulled Raindrop's off his shoulder's "You ok?!" She nodded looking at Discovery "What was he trying to do?" "I think he as trying to drug me and drag me off." Ross looked at Redhart who took the rag and sniff it lightly. "Chloroform."

Ross picked the body up and slung it over his shoulder. "Where is the nearest police station?"

The black unicorn Law and white Pegasus Order stat at the fount desk. It had been oddly quiet even with all the new pony's in Canterlot.

The door's banged open and the two shot back as the white unicorn was dropped on the desk "Bang him up for attempted kidnap." Ross said placing the rag on the desk as well. "You that alien that the princess showed us yesterday aren't you?" Ross nodded "Leftenant-Commisar Ross."

Order picked the Discovery's head up "What did he try to do?" Law picked the cloth up. "Don't sniff that it soaked with Chloroform."
Law looked surprised "That old trick? Wow."

Ross nodded "Old one back home too." Discovery moaned and they all looked down at him. "Can you take care of him I have stuff to do matter of duty and order's." The two nodded. "Don't worry we'll care of him." Order said as Law levitated Discovery off the desk

"No no there with me." Ross pushed the spear up that was pointing at Redhart. "Sorry Sir." The guard raised the spear and stood back as his post at the side of the gate to the barracks.

Raindrop's came round from behind Redhart and stood next to Ross in awe. "That's ineradicable."

Ross smiled and knelt down one one knee next to her. "Yes it is." Ross and Raindrop's looked at the scene before them.

These barrack's where in one of the royal gardens and where some of the newest. Made in the rush after the Seraphim landed and the need to increase pony's at arm's.

Some of the troop's where drilling practicing there sword and spear attacks another squad of unicorns where working on there spell accuracy the target dummy's made of old armorer with hole's blown in them. The newer targets consisted of looted Order armor.

Ross watched a Sargent drilling a squad near the firing range some of the officers where walking and looking through the camp easily distinguished by there more ornate armorer.

The Royal Castle was in the back ground but more prominently was the hulking ACU casting it's shadow over the entire complex.

Ross felt a presser on his leg and looked to see Raindrop's had her for leg's on his leg. She was looking up at the ACU and Ross couldn't help but chuckle. "It's... big." she said looking at the bunkhouse next to the ACU. "You...want to go up?" Ross asked.

Raindrop's looked up at Ross pure joy etched into the smile spreading across her face. "Really?" Ross pulled the beret off and ruffled her mane. "I'v kept the promise so far." he said as he pulled the beret back on her head.

Redhart smiled at the two a tear of joy rolled down her check. She had never seen Raindrop's so happy.

Ross spy'd a pony pulling a cart with duffel bag's in it. "O Corporal! Chuck us one of them!" The pony took one in his teeth and threw it to Ross who caught it mid-air "Nice throw Corporal. Just tell the quarter master I took this one out and I'll sign it out later."

"Yes Sir." The Corporal said as he started to pull the cart off in the direction of the store hut.

"What you need that for?" Raindrops asked. "I need both arm's to clime the rope ladder and I don't want you falling off my back. and why shouldn't Red see there sight's I'll show you?" As he said this Ross pulled the duffle bag onto his back "Ready?" Raindrops nodded and held up her for-leg's Ross picked her up and slipped her into the bag. He felt her slip down to the small of his back "Red your turn." Ross knelt down and felt Redhart clime in. "Happy?" He felt them shuffling around. "Ready."

Ross walked to the foot of the swaying rope ladder and started to clime.

Ross was half way when there was a shout. "Ross!" Ross let go with his right arm and swung out to look down to find Moonlight in full armor. A slight gust of wind mad his coat bottom flapping a little in the wind.

"Yes!?"
"I'v made my selection of candidates for S.O.H.U. there ready for you review." Ross swapped his hold on the ladder and looked at his watch. "Ok I'll be an hour or two...What armorer have they got?"
"Buck all!"
"Right you go to the quarter master and put the presser on to get some decent armor ready for them OK?" Moonlight saluted and moved off. "O Sargent Major! There's a.... caption Edge kicking about he has something for me if you could collect it for me I'll pick it up when I go through the candidates with you." "Yes sir!"

Ross pulled him self and the two in the bag on top of Unbreakable and they got out and Ross stood up. "There's you view." Ross said pointing over the city wall's down the mountain and to the plains where he could see the curvature of Equine it's self.

"O wow...It's beautiful." Ross sat down his leg's dangling over the edge of the ACU's head.
