Nightmares

I had just woken up from another nightmare. This time, it was worse than all the others that I've been having this week.

I dreamt that I was trapped in my own body. Literally. I watched as I tortured and killed my best friends, unable to stop myself. I remember that my mane had changed from its usual chocolate brown color to a raven black, while my coat was from cyan to lavender.

For the first time in forever, I cried. The scent of the salty tears filled my nostrils. I hadn't cried since the death of my sister, Rainbow Dash, who died in a car accident. I loved my friends soooo much. I would risk my life for them, and I wouldn't care if I died as long as they survived.

Why am I having these dreams? Sure, nightmares are a natural occurrence, but having them every single night for almost a month like me is just plain weird.

My legs ached as I stood up from bed due to yesterday's workout. It hurt to move, but I managed to limp to my bathroom. There I washed my face and brushed my hair, then ruffled it back to its normal state. Now that I think of it, I need to go visit the salon to get my mane cut in my spare time.

I shivered remembering how different my appearance was in my dream. I was still a pegasus, and I had the same mane style, but it was the colors that were altered. I could remember what I had said to my friend Sugar Blossom* before murdering her: "You're nothing but a sniveling, whorish disgrace, and you always were. I'm going to have fun killing you."

I started crying again, but this time even harder. How could I do such a thing...?

Pull yourself together Lightning! It was just a dream, your friends are fine. They're most likely sleeping peacefully right now.

I should go visit the Doctor. I haven't talked to him in a while, and I need to find out what is the cause of these dreams as soon as possible. He'd know how to end them.
