Lazy days:
"Hmhmhmm" The lavender Alicorn hummed as she sat comfortably on her balcony, flipping to the first page of her new book.
Her violet eyes grabbed onto every word, soon she was completely lost in the book.
"Twiiilight!" A cracky voice whined.
Breaking out of her trance, she looked up to see a cyan pegasus with a rainbow mane, and upside down.
"Yes Rainbow Dash?" Twilight replied with much annoyance in her tone of voice.
Rainbow flipped the right way up and settled herself on the rail of the balcony. Twilight raised her eyebrow at Rainbow Dash who somehow managed to even balance herself on there.
"Its a skill Twi." Rainbow butted in, as if she read the Alicorn's mind.
"So whats my favourite egghead doing today?" The pegasus asked taking flight and landing next to her bookworm friend.
"I got a new book and I'm reading today, just a lazy day today." Twilight replied.
Rainbow frowned.
"Can we spend the day together?" She asked pleadingly, eyes growing wide.
Twilights jaw opened and she stared at the pegasus next to her.
"Please Twi?"
Rainbow Dash sat up from her spot and held her hooves in a pleading position with her large eyes growing wide.
Twilight looked down at her book, the pure white pages, freshly laid cover. No crinkles in any page. Then up to her best friend, with large pleading eyes and a pout on her face.
"Fine." Twilight muttered.
Rainbows face lit up like a filly on Hearths Warming Eve, opening her presents. The pegasus wrapped a wing around Twilight and gave her a squeeze and took flight.
"Come on Twi!" She shouted from the sky.
Twilight smiled at her friend and opened her wings, taking flight and becoming airborne.
"So what are we going to do today Dash?" Twilight asked the energised pegasus.
She held her hoof to her chin then beamed happily.
"Come on Twilight!" She said taking off higher and out of Ponyville.
"Hey wait, I'm not the fastest flier Dash!" Twilight called loudly.
Rainbow turned around and flew back over to Twilight.
"Sure you are, just come on, imagine flying really fast, wind through your mane and the freedom you feel, like you can do anything! That should motivate you." Rainbow winked.
"Alright, and hey, you aren't dumb see those big words Dashie?" Twilight teased.
"Oh heh, I guess I'm not that dumb."
Twilight rolled her eyes with a smile on her face.
"Come on!" Twilight called and grabbed Rainbows hoof taking of at Rainbow Dash speed.
"I wanna know what this sensation feels like!" She yelled.
The two took off flying faster and faster. Rainbow Dash could see the joy, freedom and aliveness in Twilights face as she flew.
Twilight started laughing and shouting.
"Woooo! Hahahaha, this is AMAZING!!" She called.
Rainbow chuckled.
"Oh Twilight up here!" Dash called to her new sky loving friend. The two landed on a huge cloud, out of breath and laughing.
"Wow Dash, that was so much fun, I never thought I would actually fly that fast and enjoy wings so much!" Twilight said, still breathing heavily and rolling on her back.
"Can we fly again sometime?" She asked.
"I managed to get you to fall in love with the sky, didn't I?" Rainbow chuckled.
"So Dash, what do we do now?"
"Come over here next to me."
Twilight sat up and walked next to the cyan pegasus and lay by her side.
"Cool!" Rainbow smiled and wrapped her wing around Twilight.
Colour filled Twilights cheeks.
"Now look." Dash replied, squeezing the Alicorn. "You did say you wanted a lazy day today, so you're having one with me!"
Twilight was dumbfounded. Below them they could see everything, literally all of Equestria.
"Oh my gosh." Twilight managed to say. "Its, a-amazing!"
"Though my favourite egg head would like it." Rainbow smiled. "We should have a lazy day here!"
Twilight nodded slowly and then thought to herself.
"What about lunch?"
Rainbow dash looked around.
"Uh, couldn't you just like levitate some apples from Sweet Apple Acres?"
Twilight laughed.
"No, dashie I couldn't, even if i wanted to." Twilight said using Pinkies pet name.
"Are you gonna start calling me that too Twilight?" Dash groaned.
Twilight put a hoof to her chin and looked up.
"Well, maybe, No I'm joking, no. Why is it not cool enough for my favourite flier?" The alicorn teased.
"No, it's just-"
Twilight raised an eyebrow.
"Never mind."
"Dashie, don't make me tickle you." Twilight warned before opening her huge, feathered wings.
"Whatever I'm not even ti-hahahahahahahaha!!" Rainbow shouted, as Twilight tackled her and tickled her.
"Hmm, lets see if she has ticklish hooves!" Twilight said.
"No!" Rainbow laughed. "Ok ok I'll tell you!" She said, clutching her sides with tears running down her face.
The lavender alicorn smiled with satisfaction and sat close to the rainbow maned pegasus.
"Well you know general Firefly right?"
"Of course!"
"Well, my mom was named after her, because she was my moms great grand mother. And well, my mom used to always call me Dashie."
A transparent tear slid down Rainbows face. "Me and my mom were super close, she would always tell me how great a flier I was, told me to never give up and helped me believe in myself and stay strong. She was my inspiration. She worked as a wonder bolt too. And well, when ponies call me Dashie I think of my mom and I just lose it, on the inside."
Twilight wrapped her huge purple wing around the grieving pegasus.
"I'm so sorry Dash, I won't call you that anymore."
"Twilight, can I tell you something?" Rainbow asked.
"Of course, anything!" Twi replied almost instantly.
"Right now, I don't really care if you call me Dashie, you sometimes remind me of her to be honest, it doesn't make me sad, it makes me happy and I guess that's why I love to spend my time with you more that any pony. Of all the ponies, you're the one who seems to believe in me the most, comfort me the most and help me the most, like my mom."
Twilight felt her eyes widen and she smiled at Rainbow.
"Same with me, even if we seem so different, we are almost exactly the same. What I love most about you Dashie, is your determination, loyalty and the aliveness of your presence. I don't know what I would do without you."
The two embraced each other in a hug and wrapped their wings around each other.
"Lets enjoy out lazy day, watching Equestria and snuggling." Twilight said quietly.
Rainbow buried her head into the cloud and curled into a ball, still wrapped in Twilights wing.
"Little kitty cat." Twilight chuckled and booped Rainbows nose.
Rainbow smiled.
"I like kitty cats."
"Me too." Twilight whispered and nuzzled Dashes ear.
"Especially this kitty cat." Twilight whispered in Rainbows ear, making her giggle.
"That tickles my ears Twi!"
The alicorn smiled and pulled her Rainbow kitty closer to her.
The two slowly drifted of to sleep in each others wings.
"I love you Twilight, you're like my long lost sister." Rainbow mumbled before falling asleep.
Twilight smiled.
"I love you too little kitty."
