A Darkened Heart
Epilogue
Previous ChapterSpitfire landed outside the Wonderbolt's headquarters in Cloudsdale, a massive complex with build in training facility.
As she walked along the cloud street, the heavy breeze rustling her fiery mane, she couldn't help but smile to herself.
In all her years of being Captain she had only seen a few pegasi that stood out among the rest. One being a certain rainbow mane'd mare from Ponyville, among others. Pegasi of all colors and sizes were whizzing around her, performing fantastic areal feats. Spitfire wan't interested in that though.
The Wonderbolts had received so many applications since two of their members had been forced to retire: one due to massive scandal and the other due to old age. Even Rainbow Dash applied, hoof delivering her application to Spitfire.
The yellow mare failed to withhold a chuckle as she entered her office.
Oh Rainbow, don't you know you're already on the waiting list? Now... about your friend.....
Her musing was interrupted by a solid knock at her door.
"Enter," she said in her professional stern voice. Few ponies knew that Spitfire knew that she had a affectionate, caring side that she rarely showed. The colt who entered was Soarin', another Wonderbolt. His pale blue body was tuned to absolute peak physical form, not a shred of body fat on him. His dark blue monotone mane was blown back like Spitfire's was from constant high speed flying.
"You wanted to me, Spitfire?"
"Yes, I did. I seem to have found a pony that definitely stands out among the rest. And I think he might be able to take that Ol' Geezer's spot." Spitfire's face was completely seriously, but Soarin' caught a flicker of cunning in her orange eyes.
He smiled slyly, knowing exactly where she was going with this.
He stood at attention as she walked past him.
"When do we leave ma'am," he said, body rigid.
Just then, a pale green mare stood behind Soarin'. Her orange and yellow mane brushed with perfection, her body tuned to perfection.
Spitfire turned to face Lightning Dust and Soarin'.
"We don't leave. We start our plan starting next month," she said. A wide, mischievous grin spread across her lips.
Both ponies looked at each, smiled widely and followed Spitfire out of her office, and into the training facility of Cloudsdale.
It's coming together so nicely........
