Chapters Day 67
Hello once again diary, or journal, yeah, that DOES sound manlier.
Today we had steak for lunch instead of the regular MRE shit we get usually. Command must be celebrating the battle we won here in the south side of Shanghai. We pushed the Chinese out of there in ONLY five hours! Automatic AA systems shot down another Chinese spy drone today, they didn't have to announce that they had downed it. You wanna know why? Because it crash landed about only 40 feet away from the camp! No one was injured though. Command has been telling us that the Russians are on their way. The Russians aren't on China's side either, so it looks like it's gonna be a three way. We're rolling out, going straight to the heart of this war, don't know if this'll be my last entry.
Nolan Bates - Sniper
Nolan snapped the book shut, clipping it to his backpack that was on the table in front of him. Nolan was sitting in a small tent, with a table, and a makeshift bed sprawled out on the ground. He finished clipping the journal to his backpack, and slipped the backpack over his shoulders and put it on. He grabbed his M40A5 rifle, and walked out of the tent.
The army camp he was stationed at was placed in a parking lot in downtown Shanghai. There were various army transport vehicles lined up towards the road, with helicopters taking off from rooftops. Tanks were speeding down the road, towards the upcoming fight. Nolan frowned. He was a fun loving dude, was a class clown his entire life, he did NOT belong in the USMC. He might have been a great sniper, but he didn't like it.
He heard his name called, he looked over to what he determined was the source. He saw two other soldiers that stood out from the others that were running to their various means of transports. He saw his two squad mates, standing near an MRAP. Gerard, and Jake. Gerard was an Asian-American man, Nolan's best friend, and he was slightly taller than Nolan. Gerard was a medic, and had stitched up a pretty bad wound on Nolan several times. One time, Nolan's hand was bleeding and cut up because he got into a CQC situation, and busted his hand on the hostile's head, but it DID knock the enemy out, and gave him a concussion. Jake was Caucasian, much like Nolan. He was a support. Jake was much stronger than anyone Nolan has ever known, being able to carry two giant extra ammo bags, an LMG, and all the ammo for it.
Now's the time for Nolan's description. He was a tall man. He was a sniper, and was DAMN good at it too, didn't like fighting much though. He had messy light brown hair, and the moment he would comb it, it'd immediately get scruffy again. He wore a boonie, and a bandanna that he put over his mouth. You might be thinking he did it for the cool factor, but no, the pollution in the air was a bit toxic. Command advised soldiers to wear masks or bandannas.
Nolan clipped the sniper rifle to his chest, and ran towards the truck, Gerard and Jake got in the back, and two soldiers that Nolan did not recognize got in the front two seats. Jake held the door open for Nolan with one hand, but pulled him in with great force with the other.
Nolan sat down on the padded seat that was hanging off the wall. The passenger leaned back, looking at Gerard. "Where do you wanna get off? Straight to the fight?" He asked. "I see you got a sniper, he'll probably want to be dropped off before we get there." Nolan nodded when the passenger said that. "Yeah, drop off our sniper near a tall building, and then we'll head straight to the fight."
Gerard answered.
The truck started up, pushing itself forward, and enters the convoy of tanks, trucks, and jeeps. Helicopters flying over head.
"Let's get this started!" The commander announced confidently over the hand radios that's connected to each soldier's shoulders. Jake fist pumped.
"We're gonna fuck. them. up." He said loudly. Nolan cringed a bit when he heard the gunshots start up in the city, the fight has begun. Prepare for death.
"What about the Russians?" Gerard asked. "Command said that they were approaching, but will they be here for the fight?"
"They weren't too far off, they're gonna be here to fight." Nolan said, looking out the window at the abandoned city. Civilians had evacuated the second U.S. troops entered the city. Nolan blinked, pulling the bandanna off his face for the first time in the day. He rubbed his chin, feeling the recently shaved stubble. He had a recently shaved mustache, too. It had a certain style to it. Some people called it a 'pornostache' or 'molestache'. (Some people being Gerard, and most of his friends back in the states.)
He put the bandanna back up, looking back up at Gerard, who was sitting across from him, then to Jake who was stretching out, lying sideways on the seat.
"Ok, this building's perfect!" The passenger suddenly announced, and the truck halted to a stop. Knocking Jake against the wall, making him grumble while rubbing the back of his head.
Nolan looked out of the window, seeing the 30ish story building raising above the 10 story or shorter buildings next to it. Nolan used his leg to knock the door open, and slid out. He sprinted to the building (gunshots were now constant, it was rare that there was a 5 second length of time without a burst of assault rifle shots, or an explosion.) Nolan, fearing getting snipped by a rooftop sniper, stopped behind a piece of cover half way to the building. He sighed, and whipped some sweat off of his forehead.
He finished the sprint, and bashed in a door that had a sign on it that translated to "Employees Only" He clipped the sniper rifle to his chest, and pulled his M9 out of his pistol holster that was on his chest. He waved it around the lobby. The place was some sort of hotel. He quietly made his way to the elevators, but right as he was about to enter it, he heard a very small, ever so quiet creak come from behind him. Nolan spun around, seeing a non-American soldier, he acted on instinct, and slapped the pistol aimed at him with his left hand, as he aimed his M9 at the attacker's chest and shot twice.
With a slump the attacker fell. Nolan sighed, and examined the body. Surprised to see it was not a Chinese soldier, it was a Russian! He grabbed his portable radio.
"Command?" He called out. Right as he was about to ask again, the commander spoke.
"What soldier?" He asked.
"I just killed a Russian soldier, they're not on their way! They're here!" Nolan announced looking around the room.
"Great, thanks for the info soldier." The commander thanked. "Commander out."
A few seconds later Nolan's radio went off again. "Attention all soldiers, the Russians are here, and are hostile towards both us, and the Chinese, over." He said. Then the radio fell silent. Nolan turned and rushed to the elevator, selecting the roof before anyone had the chance to jump out at him.
The elevator opened after a 30 second, elevator music filled ride. Nolan walked to the edge of the building, looking down at the fire and chaos below. Gunshots cut through the polluted air every second that ticked.
Nolan set up his sniper rifle on the railing, and looked through the scope. He overlooked an entire battle. He saw cars being run over by tanks, he saw helicopters raining hell-fire down on people below. He saw people getting shot down. It was utter chaos.
He looked through a window pane on a small two-story building about 300 meters away from Nolan, He zoomed in his scope, and peered through the glass, looking for any movement. The glass busted as a bullet pierced out of it, and at an American squad below. The squad ran to cover, but couldn't fire back, as the hostile in the window had them suppressed.
The people popped up in the window, revealing the culprits to be three Russian soldiers. Nolan immediately adjusted for bullet drop, and shot. Killing one of the three. He cycled the bolt, and aimed back at the window, but saw something in the scope also. A Chinese soldier ran out of an alley way holding a red flare. He saw the Russians and whipped the flare on the buildings roof, but soon after, was shot down by the American squad taking cover about five feet away. The Russians didn't notice the flare, so they kept shooting, but soon, a Chinese attack Jet passed over the building shooting hundreds of bullets down the street, piercing the roof, killing everyone inside.
Utter chaos, death and destruction. THIS is what the war brought. Nolan frowned, searching for a new target. Yet again, he heard a quiet noise behind him, it's a wonder how he heard it through the chaos and destruction of the battle, but no matter. He whipped around again, seeing a Russian soldier again. He attempted to grab his pistol out of the Russian's hands, and it worked, he ripped it out of his hands, and stumbled when the Russian fought back, kicking Nolan towards the edge of the building. He stumbled back and hit the railing, nearly flipping over it and falling to his death, but he didn't and was lucky for it. The pistol, on the other hand, flipped out of his hands, and fell off.
Nolan grunted, and stood up, the first thing he saw when he looked up was a knee coming towards his face, getting knee'd in the face doesn't feet great y'know? Nolan was leaning against the railing again, and the Russian took this as an advantage, and grabbed Nolan, and started trying to force him over the edge.
"просто чертовски умереть!" The Russian blurted out. Continuing the fight. Nolan fought back, weakly punching his gasmask with his left hand, as he held on to the railing with his right, as to not fall.
The Russian suddenly stopped pushing, and Nolan fell to the ground. Nolan looked up, expecting a gun to be shoved in his face, but the Russian had backed off, he was now staring up into the sky, just standing there, staring. Nolan stood up turning to whatever the Russian was staring at.
"Oh shit." He said simply.
The Chinese attack jet from before had turned around, and was making another pass, it was aiming straight for them.
They died very painlessly, and quickly. After they were shredded by the mini-guns, the Russian just simply fell over dead, whereas Nolan fell off the edge.

Discord sat watching. This... this violence, this war, this... this chaos. He loved it, he wished to have an army of his own, as violence was unheard of in Equestria. Or it least it HAS been unheard of. Back before the times of harmony, the "Princess Celestia Era" so about 1000 years back, Equestria was a lawless wasteland. Children stories and books and plays tend to leave this out, but before Celestia came along, Pegasi, Earth Ponies, and Unicorns were in a bloody, death filled war. Much like the Chinese, Americans, and Russians are in right as he thought. If he managed to bring these humans TO Equestria, he could... he could very well rule the entire planet.
Oh if only, if only he could do that! OH WAIT! HE TOTALLY CAN! Using his powers, Discord planed to bring one of the forces to Equestria to work for him. He'd have to make them ponies so they can blend in, but he'd give them abilities to stand and run on two hooves, and use guns, if they were regular ponies, they would not have been able to do either of those. Maybe a few Americans, or Russians would get over too, but no matter, without Discord calling to them and bringing them together like he would the Chinese, they'd either get jailed, or wander into the Everfree and get eaten by timber wolves.
Discord laughed to himself.
With just a snap of his fingers, the plan would be set in motion.
SNAP
Nolan went through the thoughts in his mind. Getting called into the US marines, going through extensive training, being an expert sniper, attacking Shanghai, getting killed. Wait... GETTING KILLED?! Nolan flinched and popped up straight on whatever soft object he was lying on. He opened his eyes and was immediately hit by bright light.
"Ugh... shit..." Nolan looked around. Every thing seemed... cartoon-ish. "Am... am I dead?" He said quietly, blinking. He was lying in some sort of shed, with a door directly in front of him. The door was just open enough to let in a streak of light from the outside, said streak of light was positioned just in the exact spot, so that it would hit Nolan in the eye. Nolan looked down at what he was lying on, and made two observations.
A: He was lying on a pile of hay.
B: He was naked, and instead of his usual human skin, he was a DARK BLUE.
The second of this shocked him, he sat up, gasping and widening his eyes. His breathing quickened. He lifted his hand to his face, expecting to see a blue hand, but instead, he saw a hoof like thing, also blue. "My god..." Nolan quietly said, a look of horror on his face. He lifted his other hoof to his face, feeling his new features, he had an elongated face. 'I'M A FUCKING HORSE.' Nolan screamed in his own mind.
Nolan thought at first that he might be in hell, but then concluded that it might as well be a coma dream. He thought this until he stood up and tried to walk, but tripped on a pole that was on the ground. Nolan knew that dreams couldn't bring pain, but that hurt.
"This... this is real." Nolan said to himself, shocked. He stood back up, and Nolan noticed something. If he was, INDEED a horse like he had thought, then how was he standing on his back two legs? He shook his head, no need for questions like that, he needed to focus on finding out what was going on.
He walked forward, towards the cracked door. He was about to open it when it opened on it's own. A pony, not standing on it's back legs like Nolan was, stood on the other side, Nolan took a step back, and got into a defense stance. Even without a weapon, he could take on anyone, the USMC training made absolute sure of that.
The pony stared at him with a confused look. The pony was orange-ish, with a blonde pony-tail hairdo. Also it had a blonde tail, and bright green eyes.
"Uhhh mister?" The pony asked in a southern North American accent. Staring at his position, Nolan realized it must have been the fact that he could stand, and as it appeared, other horses/ponies here couldn't. He realized his mistake, and quickly got on all fours.
"Yes?" He asked smiling the most nervous smile he could have in that situation.
"How were you... standing like that?" She asked.
"Like what?" Nolan asked, denying that he had ever stood like that.
"Oh uh, never mind." She said, tilting her hat so she could see better. "Must have been hallucinatin'. Name's Applejack." She said proudly. She held out a hoof and smiled a warm, nice, inviting smile.
"Nice to meet you, Applejack." Nolan shook her hoof, and smiled. "My name is Nolan." Nolan was slightly taller than Applejack, causing her to look up to him. The light hitting her face in such a perfect way made her look majestic. She smiled up to him, then got a worried look on her face.
"I found ya' knocked out on the edge of the farm, you alright, sugarcube?" She said, suddenly with worry in her voice.
"I'm fine," Nolan said, waving away the worried look on her face. "Doesn't hurt at all."
"So how'd it happen?" She said, getting closer to him, touching his face, gently pushing his pony-like ear out of the way, Nolan did not know, but Applejack was eyeing a gash on the back of his head, that had been stitched up by Applejack. The gash was too deep just to go away, it was gonna leave a scar that would be on him for the rest of his life.
"I..." Nolan trailed off when their eyes met, Applejack was still holding the side of his head. She quickly looked away, and pulled away her hoof. Awkwardness ahoy. Nolan felt as though he was in 7th grade again. It was the time all the girls started getting boobs, and all the guys opened their eyes to the world of sex, it made every encounter Nolan and every other guy his age, had with girls, so, so very awkward.
"I... can't remember." He said, realizing that telling Applejack that he was an alien that died and ended up on the edge of her farm, unconscious, MAY not be a good thing for his safety.
"You were pretty beat up, the others didn't want you to sleep inside because they wanted to make sure you weren't dangerous." Applejack said, looking over her shoulder when she said 'others'. Nolan looked over her shoulder to see a farmhouse on the horizon.
"I assure you, I'm not dangerous." Nolan said, smiling on the outside, but thinking about all of the people he has killed on the inside. Applejack smiled back, but didn't look him in the eyes for long. Still awkward. 'Just like 7th grade' Nolan thought.
"Well, you've been knocked out all day, I'd hate for you to spend the night in this little ol' shed." Applejack said, smiling up to him, but, just like last time, couldn't look Nolan in the eyes for long.
"Well I'm glad you're looking out for me," Nolan said, "Shall we go?" He pointed to the farmhouse on the hill.
"Oh, I almos' forgot, yer package is in the corner over there, we found it next to you, we didn't look in it for yer privacy, and all that." She said, pointing to Nolan's military backpack. Nolan looked back at it. Realizing all of his stuff might be in there. (Including his M40A5, or his army clothes.)
He turned around and walked calmly to it, he zipped it open using his mouth, as it was the easiest way he could think of at the moment, and looked inside. Knowing that Applejack was standing in the doorway, and couldn't see inside of his backpack, he decided to check what was in there.
He peered in, seeing his folded up army clothes with his boonie, and bandanna on top. He saw his M9, and his M40A5. He also saw two MREs, and a canteen full of water. On the outside, his journal was clipped to the backpack, along with a tucked away pencil in one of the army coat's pockets. There were also several magazines for both his rifle, and his pistol. Nolan grinned and zipped it back up. Nolan picked it up and threw it over his back, and quickly turned around.
Applejack was staring at his... well staring at his flank , to put it nicely. She quickly looked away when Nolan turned around, but Nolan noticed. He didn't say anything out of politeness, and laughed on the inside. Yup, just like 7th grade. He thought, then the two started for the farmhouse.
Dimitri Raslov: Wolf Killer
Dimitri awoke in a forest, the last thing he remembered was fighting that USMC punk on a roof, then... getting gunned down by a Chinese jet. This made his head hurt. It was like he had a hangover. "Какого черта!" ("What the hell?") Dimitri said to himself, rubbing his (what he thought to be) hand on his temples, only to reveal two things. One: His head was shaped differently than what it used to be. Two: He had a hoof-like thing instead of hands. "Что ... я?" ("What... am I?") He said, staring at his black hoof. He shot up. He touched his face again. "Какая-то животного, может быть, лошадь?" ("Some sort of animal, maybe a horse?") Dimitri looked down at his body to see a pure black, pony shaped body with a bushy pure white tail coming out from his lower half.
"Что случилось?" ("What happened?") Dimitri was confused. He decided to scan his surroundings. He was in a small clearing in a forest. It was dark around him, but since he was in a clearing, the trees let in a beam of light that highlighted Dimitri, and Dimitri only. Dimitri was uncomfortable knowing that he couldn't see into the dark forest, but the things in the dark forest could see him.
Everything was cartoon-ish, and less detailed than it was when he was alive. Dimitri was a semi-religious man, so he just assumed that he was in some sort of afterlife. Didn't really think the afterlife would involve him being a pony, but whatever.
Dimitri stood up, at first he stood up on his back two hooves, but then he realized that it really didn't fit the whole "Pony" thing. He dropped onto all four legs. There was an audible growl from behind him. He turned to see a wolf that looked as though it was made of wood.
"О нет..." ("Oh no...") Dimitri complained, and got onto his back two legs. Standing in a unique fighting stance only taught in the Spetsnaz. The wolf growled, seeing Dimitri move provoked it to attack. The wolf jumped at him, and he side stepped, allowing the wolf to hit the ground. He looked around quickly for anything he could use as a weapon.
Dimitri grinned wildly when he saw his Spetsnaz backpack lying on a rock about four feet away from him. He sprinted over to it (still on his back two legs) ducked under the wolf when it tried to pounce on him. He skidded to a halt, and pulled the machete out of the side pocket, he thought for a moment JUST a moment, about how he was grabbing a handle with a hoof, then he realized that he had some sort of invisible fingers extending from his hoof, just enough to pick up stuff and grab things.
Dimitri got into a fighting stance, as the red eyed, wooden wolf growled in the darkness that they were now both standing in, as the wind pushed the trees in a certain way, so as the hole in the makeshift roof the tree leaves were making, was now covered up. Leaving the only light to be the red radiating from the wolf's eyes. The Russian ex-human, now pony scowled at the wolf. The wolf growled hatefully, and lunged, only to be hit with the blade. The wolf recoiled and whined in a ear-piercing high pitched fashion. The wolf tried, weakly, I might add, to scratch and claw at Dimitri's leg as he stepped on it's head, and crushed it, all the while the wolf was whining, and Dimitri was shushing it in a creepy, yet calming way.
After the dark deed was done, Dimitri wiped all of the sap off of his leg. He walked over to his bag, and opened it up. It was all there. His Spetsnaz clothing, his old styled gas mask that he wore in Shanghai because of the pollution. His AK-12 was clipped to the side of the backpack, and his MP-412 REX was in the holster. There were also several mags for his AK-12 and a few little cylinders for his revolver.
He grinned a devilish, handsome grin. Putting the back pack on like he would if he was a human. Dimitri sighed, taking one last look at the wolf, then turning, and heading out.

Discord brought all of the Chinese soldiers to Equestria, and stood before them, He had let them freak out at first, them seeing themselves and their friends as ponies, and the fact that they were standing before a god. Judgement day. Discord, spoke up, standing tall before the crowd of ex-humans.
"Hello gentlemen." He said, his voice bellowed around the room, and echoed. All of the panic stopped as the Chinese crowd stared at Discord. "I wish I could explain how you got here in a more fulfilling way, but for now, let's just say it was magic. " Discord laughed. "If you work for me, and work HARD for me, this can help all of you, and I, out. We will be in a better position than we ever have been." The crowd looked at each other, and there was a bit of conversation. "Enough," Discord said, quieting the crowd. "Even though you are now ponies, I've granted you the ability to stand, and pick up stuff. You have invisible fingers in case you haven't found out yet."
Most of the ponies in the crowd stood up as soon as Discord mentioned that they had been granted the ability to stand.
"You will get your gear back soon, all I ask of is your loyalty, and the promise of not shooting me. Just a simple salute will show the message." Discord announced. Discord laughed maniacally as every single one there saluted, and applauded, as Discord's promises of better living than they had in China were too great to say no to.
