At least, I assumed it was a bed. My mind was behaving about as slugishly as a slug as it tried to comprehend the enviornment I was in. I couldn't remember anything before this point, save for a whole bunchload of darkness. I attempted to move my neck to look to my right, although I seemed to have forgotten how to move. I heard a voice to my left speak to me, although I couldn't understand what she was saying. At least, I assumed the voice was feminine and I assumed it was speaking to me. For all I knew, which was less than nothing, it was a male speaking to himself. I tried to comprehend her speech, although it might have been either an entirely new language or my ears weren't working properly. I don't know which I was hoping for. I tried to make some sort of speech to respond to the voice, but my voicebox wasn't working either. Then I saw a whole lot of purple, or perhaps lavender fur. At least, I assumed it was fur. It started to speak, and this time I was fairly certain it was speaking to me. My ears still weren't working, though, so I was out of luck. Then all I knew was darkness. Sweet, sweet darkness. /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ /-\ When I awoke again, I was in the exact same place as before. At least, I assumed it was the same place. My comprehension skills were slightly better than before, so I had less difficulty seeing as before. I was in a small room with a green roof and blue walls. There was a white door directly in front of me, and a small brown desktop lamp at my right side. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see a tan and grey checkered floor. To my left was a large, light blue curtain. I tried to turn my head to take in more detail, but I found I couldn't. I noticed my sense of touch had returned, and I could feel a soft yet firm material covering it. I noticed the same material, probably bandages, was covering my whole body and most of my face, and my limbs were hanging from strings connected to the roof. I tried to remember what happened before I was here, but I failed yet again. Still that same wall of darkness, barring access to my past. I had discovered a few things about myself that could be useful to my futere, however, and I intended to use them. My name is Ethan. My name means Strong in some language not of my own. I liked building things, and liked seeing thoughts and dreams become reality. I didn't like to speak much, even with those close to me. When I did speak, I wasn't afraid of what I would say. I wanted to not just survive, but live. I was interupted by the door in front of me opening to reveal a white horse in a doctor's outfit. A part of my mind found this strange, as if I wasn't where I was supposed to be. I pushed it out of my mind; I had more important things to do. "Oh!" She exclaimed, noticing I was awake, "You're awake. I was just coming to check up on you. Can you speak?" "Yes," I tried to say, but it came out sounding like "Yersh," thanks to these bandages on my face. "Oh!" She exclaimed again, noticing my speech was hindered, "I should probably remove those bandages if we want to chat." As soon as she removed the bandages, I gave a sigh of relief. I could smell her now; she smelled like fresh flowers. I wasn't sure what kind of flower it was, I just knew it was of flowers. I liked flowers. "Oh, you're looking better already!" She had
