Destiny, The Pravus, and ponies
There was a flash... Then nothing. I was literally suspended in nothing. It was strange, feeling nothing, I couldn't feel, or smell, yet I could see and taste something metallic, like I had swallowed a penny, but what was a penny? I couldn't remember anything There was nothing and yet there is me. Where am I?Who am I? I thought. Just as I finished that thought a voice invaded my mind.
"Are you the One?" It said in a booming yet gentle voice.
I would've jumped from surprise if I could but it seemed as if I was a mind without a body, aware of everything but without any bodily function.
"Who was that?!" I asked suddenly scared of what I might see. But I still just saw the white plane.
"You are the Pravus, are you not?"
I had no clue what a Pravus was or who this invisible intruder was so I just said the first things that came to mind.
"Who are you? Where am I? WHO am I?"
Every question I had came out like a flood, and I didn't even know what that was either.
"All will be explained, but not at this moment." The voice said.
"But I want everything to be explained NOW!" I was on the verge of having a panic attack.
"SILENCE!" The voice became so loud that I tried to cover my ears to block it out but when nothing happened I gave up.
"All will be explained. Now are you, or are you not the Pravus?"
I was becoming increasingly confused.
"What is a Pravus?"
"The Pravus will be the savior and protector of Equestria in its darkest hours, he will save the innocent and vanquish the wicked. The Pravus will be the champion of order and love. The Pravus shall be the greatest hero Equestria will ever know. The Pravus will be Equestria's first and last human."
That was a lot to take in and I was speechless for a moment.
"Well are you?" The voice demanded
"If I'm not the Pravus then why am I here?"
"So you accept?" The voice sounded pleased that we had almost reached an agreement.
"I... I guess I am..." It was hard to say yes but I feared what the voice could do if I refused.
"Very well then I shall send you to your destiny, but be warned my champion. If you fail to stop chaos from destroying Equestria then you will be killed and Equestria will be ruled by darkness and chaos for ten-thousand years."
Wow... Heavy. I thought to myself.
"Fare thee well my champion, and before you take your leave you will need these."
My vision was fogged for a minute and before me were two beams of light. One a golden beam that was extremely bright. And the other one a pitch-black beam that stood out on the white landscape.
"The powers of life and death are at your disposal. Behold Excalibur and Clarent, the twin-blades of order. Use them well. But be warned, in order to unlock their true power you must become one with the energy that inhabits your body. Let the universe flow through you and guide you."
The beams flew towards me and dissipated. I instantly felt powerful, like I had been imbued with the power to destroy a planet. That kind of power.
"Pravus, you should know that your current status will also effect your natural powers over the Ethereal Flames, in a good way of course. But effected none the less."
Now I was really confused. "Wait, what powers, I don't understand!"
"All will be explained in time. For now find your memories, they were given form and scattered through Equestria. Your memories of your past life will be restored the more memories you find. Now go. For on the anniversary of your arrival, Chaos will break free of its bonds and wreak havoc on the innocent. As Pravus it is your job to protect them. Your time starts now use it wisely."
It was when the white plane began to split down the middle that I snapped and began to scream. Black tentacles rose from the crack and dragged me into the abyss.
Then I woke up.
