“If the purple princess”-- the word was accented as if to mock the pony in question --“moves an inch, Celestia shall fall!” a long black gangly leg points upward directing everyone’s eyes toward Celestia’s perch way up high “unless, of course, somepony was to give me the Elements of Harmony”
“Don’t do it Twilight!” Snowflare, who is standing just behind and to the left of Twilight “we can’t let Chrys---“
“Don’t say it, Snowflare, just don’t!” Twilight’s face was tortured with the choice of either keeping the Elements of Harmony, or saving Celestia. She looks around at her fellow ponies, all assembled behind her “I know one day in the future the Elements might have helped us, but I can’t let Celestia die now, not like this.” her horn lights up and takes the gems of each of the Elements from her friends
“Twilight! Have you gone mad?” Rainbow Dash tried to wrestle her Element out of Twilight’s magical grip but it was no use
“Twilight... Luna...” a soft voice barely audible, but loud enough to draw everyone’s attention, from up on the perch where Celestia was standing precariously close to the edge “and all of my people... know that I loved you...” she then stepped off the edge of the perch and fell
“No, no, NO!” Twilight Dropped the Elements and began running toward the area below the perch “CELESTIA!” she stopped and fell to her knees when Celestia hit the ground “no... we failed... I failed.”
From a safe distance Chrysalis stood laughing at Celestia’s death “did you hear the splat that her skull made as she hit the pavement, Twilight?” without waiting for a response she turned and left while sending her Changeling Army in to cover her leave
“Twilight, ah think we should leave before that army surrounds us!” Applejack was right; the army was splitting up and preparing to circle them
“But, what about Celestia’s body? We have to bring it back to Canterlot.”
“There’s no time!” Snowflare pointed at the position of the army “if we don’t move now we’ll be trapped” he picked up the Elements of Harmony and slipped them into his saddlebag “even the Elements of Harmony can’t help us fight that many Changelings at once”
“But, we can’t just leave it here.”
“Applejack, take Luna and the others to safety, I’ll get Twilight” he ran over to Twilight and tried to pull her away from Celestia’s body “do you want to end up just like her? Come on! We have to go! We have to go...”
Suddenly Snowflare found himself inside a dark void, his friends were now where to be found, just a cold black empty space. Then he spotted a light, he wasn’t sure what it was, but it was something and it seemed like it was moving toward him. He could hear wind rushing past his ears but couldn’t feel it against his body. Then the light hit him.
And he woke up.
