walked around the streets of Ponyville during the cold night. The wind if blowing through my mane. Out of the corner of my eye I see a stallion beating a mare and calling her names. I run over and push myself in between them. "Hey man knock it off, you're hurting her!" I yelled and pushed him off her. He got to his hoofs and shoved me into a building.
"Don't you tell me what to do pipsqueak." He snapped. He grabbed the mare and started to drag her away. I groaned softly, getting up, I got into a fighting.
"Let her go!" I yelled after him when he ignored me my eyes turned to flames, I lift my wings and they turn to flames. I was scared at this new found power that appeared inside of me. I focus my energy on the stallion and lava begins to fill at his hoofs. "I said let her go." I said and he dropped the mare. The mare comes running toward me, i dropped my wings to my side and hugged her. Only then did I realize she was about 10 which was about how old I was. The lava stopped flowing around the stallion as he ran toward the hospital.
"You are a superhero." The mare said. I held her closely and smile. I had no clue what I just did.
"Where do you live? I will walk you home." I asked her. "I'm Brave Heart by the way." He said. They walked into the light and I could see that she was all bruised up.
"I..I am Mint Swirl." She stuttered. "I live on the east Ponyville near sugarcube corner." She said softly. I only than realized I had been walking for awhile and must have wondered off to the west side.
"I will bring you home okay? Don't go out alone at night." I said as we started to walk off to sugarcube corner. Not long after we start walking Mint leans against me and I have to wonder how pretty she looks. Her green coat reminded me of the ice cream store of my favorite Ice Cream.
"Brave? Can I tell you something?" She said and I nodded. "I ran away from home because my dad was drinking." She said and I stopped in my tracks and hugged her. We arrive at her home, it is small but suitable. I knock my hoof on the door and I hear some rustling inside. A mare opens the door, she was a darker green her eyes where red you could tell she had been crying. "Hi mom" Mint whispered.
"MINT! Where have you been? I've been worried about you!" The mare exclaimed. She hugged Mint as she looked at me. "Who are you and why are you with my daughter?" She snapped.
"I saved her from a stallion who was beating her up." I said than her mother took a good look at her daughter who's eyes were black.
"Thank you so much sir." She said. I looked up at the night sky just as a rumble of thunder came.
"You're welcome. Well I better go find a place to stay tonight." I said and started to walk off. The mare ran up behind me and touched my shoulder.
"You can stay here tonight if you want." she said and took me inside. I sat down on the couch and sighed softly. Mint came up and sat next to me.
"Where do you live Brave?" Mint asked me and looked at me.
"I, uh, don't have a home. My parents died when I was little. I ran away from the orphanage because they were beating and abusing me." I said with a frown. Mint hugged me and I gasped softly, I am not use to people being affectionate toward me.
"Mom can he stay with us? We have an extra room he could stay in." Mint said and begged her mother. "I don't want him to get hurt, after all he did save my life from that stallion." Mint reminded her mother.
"He can stay a couple nights until we can find somepony to take him in." the mare said. "I'm Moss Active." She said offering her hoof. I shook her hoof and yawned.
"I'm Brave Heart." I said. I yawned again and stretched my hoofs over my head. My stomach growled just as I did so.
"You must be hungry, Mint get up a pillow and a blanket." Green Leaf said. Green Leaf walked into the kitchen and came back with a sandwich. I nodded a thank you to her and ate the sandwich. Mint came back with a pillow and a blanket. I finished my sandwich and laid down. "Watch out for my husband, he might not like having another male around." she said and walked away mumbling about something Mint walked over to me. What I was guessing was her little sister walked over and jumped up next to me.
"Thank you again for saving my life. Have a good night sleep. See you in the morning." Mint said and hugged me again. I smiled and hugged her back.
"You're welcome beautiful and who is this cute little filly?" I said just as the words left my lips I regretted them. Why was i so stupid? But as I looked at her face I could tell she was blushing.
"This is Treactive she is blind. Goodnight Brave." Mint said and picked up Treactive.
"Goodnight." I said. She than walked up the stairs to her room. I could hear yelling from upstairs but I was to tired to go investigate. I laid my head on the pillow and was soon off to dream land.
