Opening night
The next day at the silver steps
"Alright gather round," said Theo. The ponies obeyed, almost all of them mares.
After hours of rehearsal.
Opal and Showtime were sweating and hot. They went back to the flat and showered before getting dressed in their matching outfits, they also applied the little make up needed. "Come on, we got to go," said Opal trotting on the spot.
"OK," said Showtime, adjusting her hair accessories and outfit. They off after that to the Silver Steps, they sneaked in and out easily. The Silver Steps was in full swing, the many mares were in the dressing room, looking in the mirrors, applying make up, and just generally primping, some-were finishing off getting dressed.
"Two minutes everypony," screamed Theo from outside the room. The girls rushed and checked there reflections. Soon the time came when they were dragged up on stage
Opal was on harmonies and Showtime was a dancer behind Taullaugh. Taullaugh made sure of that. It all was going well, Taullaugh was half way though her song when Showtime missed a step and knocked all the other dancers. over. Everypony stopped as Taullaugh stomped her hoof and walked off stage, like a spoiled foal throwing a tantrum. The curtains shut quickly.
"Tallaugh, wait," said Lillian, getting up from the mass of dancers that had fallen on her, and running after her
it was like a strange domino effect. Many moans and groans came from the pile of dancers, but they did manage to untangle themselves eventually.
Opal got up from the side of the stage to see if Showtime was OK, but in the process she tripped and made the stage curtains fling open. Her hoof got caught round the string that opened the curtains. This made Opal be flung up in the air and smack into Theo, knocking him over and leaving her stood over him. His fedora had been blown off his head and for the first time Opal saw the contrast between the blue of his eyes and the dark ginger of his mane. His dark ginger mane made his eyes stand out, and those eyes could melt your butter and any mares heart.
"Sorry, uhm, I'm so sorry," said Opal, still standing over him.
"That's, uh, alright," Theo replied.
"No it's not, here-here's your fedora," she said, moving off of him and handing him the fedora.
"Let me help you up," she said, helping him up.
"Are you hurt?" asked Opal worriedly.
"Stop fussing, I'm fine Opal, no harm done" spoke Theo, finally having a chance to talk.
"No, how can I began to say I'm sorry," said Opal.
"Well, you can start by going out for coffee with me," said Theo nervously.
"It's a date," replied Opal, kissing him again on the check, then walking away feeling very wonder rush, leaving Theo blushing.
"Looks like somepony's got a date," teased Showtime from on stage.
"Shut up," said Opal blushing. Then they went back to the flat, but Opal couldn't stop smiling and was so happy.
