Chapter 2: Discord's Awakening

Discord awoke slowly to the sound of Fluttershy’s talking. To indicate that he was awake, Discord groaned.

“Oh! You’re awake! Thank goodness! Are you alright, Discord?” Fluttershy asked in her sweet, innocent, voice.

“Yeah, I’m fine Fluttershy, I just came here to smell the flowers.” He hissed. Fluttershy backed off. She knew to be extra careful when someone was just waking up, because that’s when someone can be very grumpy, and she hated to get ponies on their nerves.

“Ugh.. sorry for my rude reply Fluttershy, I am quite fine now, but my sides-” Discord winced-”Did they get slashed by some... manticore?” Discord hissed again, clearly in pain.

“Y-You mean you don’t know what happened?” Fluttershy asked.

“Oh of course I do! Some magenta beam of light shot towards me, and I instinctively teleported myself. But because I had been gathering seeds in the Everfree for the prissy princess or otherwise known as Celestia among you pony folk -which is now as I think about it actually where I got half of these cuts from- I had gotten tired, so tired that a mild gust spinned me out of control and I landed headfirst into your cottage.” Discord looked to the repaired hole, which looked like nopony ever disturbed the quiet household, before adding another comment. “Which seems to be fixed.”

“Yes, is that what happened? Oh good, the more I know the, um, better! But I-I must tell you something, Discord.” Fluttershy said.

“Yes, my dear, what is it that you wish to speak? About my damaged ability to use magic? Or should I say, wacky magic? Yes, I know darling Shutter-I mean Fluttershy, I heard it all last night. The talk with your friends, what Twilight said, everything! I can hear everything and process it while in my sleep, you know, and I must say, that is quite a talent. Do you seriously think this has never happened to me before? Hurting my head, and thus defecting my magic for a certain time? Dear Fluttershy, thank you for your hospitality, and thank you for caring for me, you know, you really don't have to do this!” Discord replied cheerfully, though pain was still imprinted on his face.

“H-How did you...what?” She shook her head and thought hard as she processed what Discord said. “You’re Welcome.” She finally responded.

With that, Discord involuntarily settled back, trying to somewhat get himself not on his sides and stomach. But he then remembered that this was Fluttershy’s bed.

“Oh, Fluttershy...I forgot,” Discord tried to stand up, but because he couldn’t put all his upper body pressure on his flimsy body, he awkwardly skwrimed onto all fours.

“Discord it’s okay! Please-!” Fluttershy begged.

“No, don’t beg me! I am begging you! The couch downstairs is way longer and comfier for my…-ahem-unique body.” Discord declared.

“Very well, but at least let me make the bed.” She spiffied it up quickly, then led Discord down the hall. She had to admit, he looked handsome in a way, like a warrior back from battle, his body tense from deep pain within. But Fluttershy was snapped out of her thoughts when Discord stopped and looked down at the stairs blankly as he tried to figure out what do next.

“Uhh…” He looked down at the wide stairs, though wide for a pony’s body, his longer, skinnier one would not be able to get down the stairs so easily without him scrunching up, and because of his injuries, that would hurt.

“Oh my, um.. how about you take three steps at once, like, stretch out your body, then tuck it in again?” Fluttershy suggested but then looked again at his wounds. “Or, you know, since you’re getting yourself up and around too early, you could just-”

“N-No, Fluttershy. I am just being immature and...weak.” Discord said sternly. This surprised Fluttershy. Since when did Discord care about his being weak? Was...was this to impress her?

‘No!’ Fluttershy snapped out of it. ‘Since when have I ever been thinking that he was trying to impress me?’

But she already knew the answer: Ever since his “reforming”.

Taking a shaky breath, the draconeqqus slowly spread himself outward, looking quite funny, like a zipline, his back claw gripping the last step of the stairs, and the other two gripping the eighth step up, the last one before a steady turn. Discord sighed. He was stuck. He was too scared to scrunch up in worry that it would hurt his wounds more, but then again, he just couldn’t get himself back up.

“You can do it.”

Discord whipped back his head so hard that his neck hurt, eyes wide.

“Really? Dear Fluttershy, I am sorry if I am being a coward here, but I believe I am quite stuck.” Discord admitted.

“You’re not being a coward, you’re just afraid that you’ll hurt yourself. Here, I’ll help.” She carefully moved his back two legs to the second last step. “Just take...baby steps, see?”

Discord sighed.

“You’re right.”

Fluttershy giggled. “Come on, let’s get you downstairs for some breakfast.”

And with that, the pegasus and the draconeqqus slowly made it down the stairs.

“Ah! Finally!” Discord exclaimed as he plopped down on the couch, happy to finally be off the stairs he so embarrassed himself at.

“Now, what would you like for breakfast, Discord? If you ask, I already fed the animals just before you got up.” Fluttershy questioned from her kitchen, a room only accessible by a hole in which there was no door. Fluttershy’s cottage was actually bigger than it looked, much to the relief of Discord. Hey, who would want to be in a small, cramped, cottage full of animals? Not that this house was cramped, no, the animals had their own few rooms, much to the delight of anypony who comes within the cottage.

“Oh, my dear Fluttershy, I am so honored by which you choose to ask me what I like for breakfast, now, if you had any eggs with a side of ranch dressing that would be magnificent.” Discord declared in an over-the-toply-dramatic tone. He didn’t want to be all sappy after the stairs incident, so he made himself dramatic instead.

“Ranch Dressing? Oh, nevermind.” Came her reply from the kitchen.

Discord chuckled to himself, as he thought in his mind, A Bit of Chaos Everyday Keeps the Snobby Ponies Away! ‘Ha,’ Discord thought, ‘Snobby ponies, such as the princesses are my least favorite ponies. But watching their hair get ruined, or tail taken abruptly off, it’s so hilarious!’

Coming out of the kitchen, Fluttershy quickly set the plates of hot, scrambled eggs to the side and gave Discord an are-you-serious? look. She knew by his facial expression that he was thinking about havocking chaos, from messing up manes to turning ponies into chocolate.

“Discord?”

Discord snapped out of his thoughts. “Hmm?”

“What were you thinking about again? I don't know, maybe taking off the princesses’ tails again?” She asked as she eyed him over suspiciously.

“What? I am the Lord of Chaos, and now being deprived from my “natural” work had been making me think about it a lot!” Discord excalimed.

“Then maybe we should get you a spot in the Everfree Forest to practice your “work” then,” She suggested.

“Really?”

“Yeah, so you don’t go wreaking chaos to the poor ponies around us, if you do someday.” Fluttershy looked at him truthfully. “And I believe you won’t.”

In that moment they locked eyes, both looking deep within the other, getting lost in each other’s, until finally Discord snapped out of it.

“Oh, um, well! Doesn’t this look divine!" He said those last couple of words like the white unicorn known as Rarity.

“Oh! Yes, let’s eat, shall we?” Fluttershy awkwardly agreed.

Fluttershy sat next to him on the couch, but before doing so, she asked:

“Mind me sitting here?” To which he, said "Nononononono!". Fluttershy rolled her eyes and ate quietly. They ate for a while, Fluttershy eyeing how Discord literally drowned his eggs into the ranch. ‘Oh Discord,’ She thought, ‘You can be so...random.’ But then a sudden question popped up in her mind.

“Discord?”

Discord looked up from his plate, which he had been devouring quite hungrily, a good thing she put so many eggs on the plate, and answered with a “Hmm?”

“Were you always evil? Like, you aren’t right now, but you know, before.” Fluttershy asked meekly. “How was it like a thousand years ago?”

Discord chuckled. “No, I guess I wasn’t, but a thousand years ago this earth as we know it was very different. The ponies were much different. Ah, yes, the little ponies-they believed in witches and goblins that lay in the unventured forest. A thousand years ago was when Tia also got her multicolored mane. Ah, yes, the day she got her cutie mark, she was mighty beautiful. Tia and I used to know each other very well, you know, as kids growing up, although I am a couple years older than her. We were playing in the forest when a skinny little messenger pony came up to the princess and told her that her mother was very sick. She went to see her immediately, and her mother told the two daughters that she loved them, she kissed them, and I, as a close friend back then, asked if I could do anything in my power to help her, but as she said in that calm, kind voice of hers:

(Flashback) This is but my time Discord, but promise me yet, that the three of you will keep your friendship together, forever, no matter what happens. When you separate, I fear someday, the world will be filled in utter chaotic depression, for, the most powerful magic of all, will be broken that day, and that magic is...

“The magic of friendship,” Fluttershy finished in utter shock. “She was the one…?”

“Who figured it out? Yes, and moments before her death she assigned Tia to the Sun, and little Luna to the moon, and after only a day or two each got their cutie mark- plus their hairstyles.” Discord paused, and a painful silence hung in the air. “A-And only but a few days later my magic, it... accidently went out of control, a-and that’s when we figured it out...”

“Figured out what?” Fluttershy asked, intent on every word.

“That I was the Lord of Chaos.” Silence fell upon both.

“Ever since, I’ve had to be more careful with my magic, and Tia and Luna had more “Royal Duties” to attend to. Soon, I was resented, when I used to be cherished upon the pony folk. I had gone into such a lonely state that, what Queen Staria had feared would happen, happened.”

A short second passed before he could continue with his story.

“I-I” He stammered.

“You lost control again.” Fluttershy finished for him.

He sighed. “And so our "magic of friendship" was released, as we were then enemies, actually a few weeks before it, but still officially, to the burden of both the princesses and I. But all that magic had to go somewhere, and, well, that’s when the Tree of Harmony was created.”

Fluttershy gasped. “Really? Wow, so, you, discorded yourself?”

Discord shook his head. “I didn’t didn’t discord myself, trust me, all three of us were heartbroken at the state of our,” Discord gulped of the last word, “friendship. But, as their prissy selves, they had to do the right thing and imprison me in stone.” Discord looked down. He and Tia, as he would call her, sometimes missed their friendship, though neither would admit it.

Fluttershy sighed and looked outside. It was beautiful, and the young pegasus felt the need to change the subject.

“Hey Discord, wanna go outside? Take a nice stroll?”

“Hmm? Oh yes, my dear, why not?” Discord looked over and stood up, keeping his gaze distant. ‘It looksso perfect out’ He observed. ‘Too perfect.’ Discord looked once more, but shrugged off the suspicious feeling.

And so, the two got up, put away the dishes, and went out into the warm, sunny day.

Evil Stairs! You never know when they would want to pick a fight! Anyways, I am pretty happy with this chapter. What do you think?

Chapter 3: Timber!!!

As they, meaning a lean draconeqqus named Discord and a small, shy mare named Fluttershy, started walking from the house, Discord asked:

“Fluttershy, why do you live by the Everfree Forest?”

“Because almost all of my little animal friends live in or near the Everfree,” answered Fluttershy. "it's their natural home." she added.

“Are you really that devoted to those little animals?” He asked again.

“Yes, I am, why?”

“Just a thought that runs in my mind, my dear, but then shouldn't you be the element of loyalty?”

“Many ponies think that I show more kindness than loyalty. I'm definitely not brave, unlike Rainbow Dash.” She said.

“Uh-huh. Now, where are we going exactly?”

“Just around the town.”

“Very well.” Discord looked around at the nice scenery around Fluttershy’s cottage, though, it was boring! Maybe even a little bit of chaos? Suddenly, he remembered his injuries. How could he forget them? His sides were starting to literally kill him! Well, maybe not, but they still hurt - a lot!

Fluttershy, suddenly noticing the decreasing pace of Discord’s mismatched legs, stopped.

“Are you okay, Discord?”

Discord hissed in pain. “I-I- no.” He grunted.

“Where does it hurt?”

“My sides! Ugh, what am I, on fire?” Discord whined, but then tensed up as he felt the light pegasus slowly begin to rub his sides, and then softened again, as he practically fell to the ground and let out a long, relieved, sigh.

“My dear Fluttershy, how do you manage to do that?” he purred. Even though Discord was part lions and lions can't purr, he still had the strange ability to do so. Rarely had he ever purred in public, but when he was with Fluttershy, it was...different. Whenever he was content enough, he would stat purring, much to Fluttershy's comfort. Basically, it was like hearing a your cat purring when he/she decided to snuggle up by you on the couch, bed, etc.

“This is what I do to my bigger animals whenever they get hurt.” Fluttershy cooed. She was surprised by how soft the draconeqqus’ fur was every time, she had at least thought that it would be more coarse.

After a few minutes, Fluttershy stopped rubbing.

“Feel better?” she asked.

Discord didn't reply, as he was sound asleep. Fluttershy smiled....

But then gasped in horror as she saw, a pair of golden, glowing eyes stared straight at her.

She felt about ready to scream.

Discord awoke to the sound of screaming. He got up.

“Fluttershy? Fluttershy?” Discord called. He heard a roar and later a scream, and immediately ran off towards the sound.

“Fluttershy!” He caught sight of her and gasped. Fluttershy was being chased by Timberwolves! He stood dumbstruck for a moment but then regained his surroundings and chased off towards them.

Meanwhile, Fluttershy was being chased by not one, but three Timberwolves! She was running for her life, and hoped that they would somehow lose her, but every time she looked back, they were still there, coming closer, and closer….

Then, she heard a different roar, and looked up. It was Discord! In complete fury he completely slashed one Timberwolf in half, and stood protectively in front of Fluttershy. The Timberwolves growled and so did he. Although not very menacing in size, Discord was still twice the size, in length, not width, of a regular pony.

“Dare touch her, and you’ll be killed!” He growled yet again, showing his quite defensive side. But the Timberwolves didn’t budge. “You want us to do this the hard way? Let’s do this the hard way, then!” he jumped and tackled the first Timberwolf. But the other one slowly came up behind Discord, and just about when he was to finish off the other wolf, he slashed at him.

And he did not miss.

“Agh!” Discord cried as his goat leg started bleeding profusely. But he still hung on. He killed the Timberwolf by which he was upon. Then, he fought the last one, more gruelingly, until finally, he killed it, eyes filled with anger.

Fluttershy ran up to Discord as he fainted, half from exhaustion, half from his bleeding leg, which the Timberwolf tore ever more at during their battle.

“Discord! Discord!” she cried, and after realizing he wasn’t going to wake up, she quickly ran home and reappeared moments later with bandages in hoof.

Discord had just saved her.

Now it was about time she save him back.

Discord awoke slowly, his leg throbbing. At first he wondered why, but then he remembered the fight with the Timberwolves. He looked at his surroundings around him. He was on Fluttershy’s couch, and the pegasus seemed nowhere in sight. Discord slowly sat up, and strained to see inside the adjacent rooms.

“Fluttershy?” He asked.

But it seemed that she wasn’t at the cottage. Still unsure, he called out again.

“Fluttershy…..?”

“Discord!” Fluttershy suddenly appeared as she flew straight into Discord, scaring him. “Oh Discord! You’re okay!” Fluttershy hugged him tight, finally releasing him and rested her gaze upon him, looking him straight in the eye.

“Fluttershy-”

Her focus on Discord was ruined, and she looked down. “I mean, I was so scared, and you saved me Discord, saved me! See? The others were wrong about you, and speaking about them, I haven’t told them yet. I wasn’t sure what to do, oh I am so happy that you are okay! I owe you one, Discord!” Fluttershy went on, babbling like the hyper-active, fuchsia maned pony, Pinkie Pie. Discord stopped in his tracks.

“Owe, me? My dear Fluttershy, have you not seen nor heard how many times you’ve defended me against your precious pony friends? I, Discord, was just returning the favor! So speak nothing of it!” Discord winced. “But, could you do me a favor and step off my leg? It hurts quite a lot.”

Fluttershy looked down again. He was right, she was half standing, half flying on his leg. Fluttershy took herself off his leg and floated in the air, wings quietly beating a soft rhythm

“Oh, sorry.”

“It’s fine, but…” Discord sighed. “It seems like I’m grounded, until my head, wing, or leg gets better, and that’s what bothering me. You know I hate to stay in one place for this long!”

There was a strange silence as Discord tried to get himself comfortable.

“I-I’m sorry Discord, if I hadn’t just-” Fluttershy finally began.

“Hadn’t just what? It was those Timberwolves who did the wrong thing, not you!”Discord interrupted.

“Yeah, but what if they come back for revenge? I mean, like, more Timberwolves.” Fluttershy asked concern upon her face.

“Hmm, well, I think I got a way to keep them out!” Discord snapped his fingers in triumph like he had just solved the world's greatest math problem.

“Which is….?”

“Simply spread the broken pieces of wood on the edge of your property, that way, when any other Timberwolves come, they’ll know not to deal with this...er...cottage!” Discord gave sharp nod, clearly proud of himself.

“Oh, why hadn’t I thought of that?” Fluttershy mumbled to herself. “Well, I better must go outside then and spread the branches,” She said, getting up bravely. “I’ll be back in a few minutes.”

She left, and Discord waited, but after a while he started to get a bit worried. He carefully lifted himself up, limped over to the door, and went outside into the open air. It was a little before sunset,he noticed as he looked around, but yet she wasn’t there. Wanting to check the full property of the house he grumbled to himself:

“Dear Celestia, I wish I could just teleport myself over to the other side of the cottage! But my head is still-” But he hadn’t finished, for he was now on the other side.

“Yes! My magic is back, baby!” He cheered, and took off his head bandages, spinning them around as he danced around. After rejoicing for a bit, he remembered his task at hand, and started looking. “Fluttershy! Fluttershy! Where are you?” He exclaimed, but the pegasus was nowhere to be found. He started getting even more worried. He teleported himself high over the property, but she was still nowhere to be found. ‘Oh where could she be?’ He asked, and a sudden thought nearly knocked the breath out of him. ‘What if she’s dead?’ Discord almost let out a screech as he quickly teleported off to get help, before it was too late.

Dun Dun DUN! Well, Steve the Timberwolf has gotten himself quite in trouble. Did they really think that branches would stop them from the evil....wait! I don't want to spoil the next Chapter! Keep reading if you want to find out what happens next!

Chapter 4: Where's Fluttershy?

Twilight was reading some spell books peacefully and it was as silent as a mouse, as Spike was sleeping, but anyways, remember, it was, until a certain draconeqqus happened to barge in and scare the livings out of her!

“Discord! What are you doing here? And what happened to your leg?” Twilight asked clearly annoyed.

“No time for that-I think Fluttershy has just been kidnapped!” Discord shouted frantically, and before Twilight could even react, he took her hoof and teleported over to Sweet Apple Acres.

“What in tarnation?” AppleJack asked as she shot up in surprise, as the teleportation had spooked her. “No time to explain, AJ, but I think Fluttershy’s been kidnapped!” And so he took her hoof and teleported yet again, this time over to Pinkie’s place.

“Woah! Discord! What are you doing here?” Pinkie asked, as she had not been spooked by his and her other friends' sudden appearance.

But this time Discord did not respond, for the two large teleportations had left him speechless, and he had to take deep breaths before he could answer.

“I….think...Fluttershy’s...been….kidnapped! And..we probably should have had Rainbow and Rarity here too right now, but those teleportations have left me-” He panted.

“Exhausted? Don’t worry-I’ll get them.” And with that Twilight left, as Discord made a small couch appear so he could sit down. In a flash Twilight was back with Rarity and Rainbow Dash.

“Now that we are all here, could you explain what happened?” Rarity asked expectantly.

“Ugh...no...time to explain….she just went outside...and disappeared!” Discord explained and shook his head, as it left him dizzy. You see, when Discord telports all his friends at one time, he usually had time to recuparate before he tries again, and since he had just gotten his ability to use his chaotic magic again properly, the unprepared teleports had took more energy than usual. Otherwise, he is quite powerful and can do it quite easily, yet just in this state he had been having problems, with all his injuries and all that. Doesn't make sense? Well, what do you expect, this is Discord. Discord doesn't make sense.

“Are you sure that this isn’t just some trick?” Rainbow asked suspiciously as the others gasped in shock from the news.

“Seriously? Why else would I waste all my energy on bringing the lot of you here? But anyways, we have to go and find her!” Discord struggled to pick himself up and float above the ground, making the couch disappear. She didn’t know how, but Twilight (along with AJ) could sense that he was truly being honest.

“If you say so, but I gotta ask, where did you last see her? In her garden? Inside the cottage?” Twilight questioned, much to the others surprise of her undoubtful agreement with Discord.

“Right outside the house, picking up branches from the dead Timberwolves.” He replied, but immediately regretted it as the other gave him shocked and surprisedlooks.

“T-Timberwolves? Pardon me, but what do ya mean by that?” AppleJack stammered.

“Well, just to quicken it up, let’s say Fluttershy had an encounter with a few of them, and well, that’s where I got this,” He pointed at his goat leg. “ But anyways, let's go!”

But the others could barely listen. Discord saving Fluttershy from Timberwolves? Maybe they had thought him wrong.
Twilight shook her head, to snap out of her daze. “Of course, Discord, Rarity and I can even help you get us there. Everypony, join hooves." Twilight and Rarity took Discord’s Paw and Claw. Everypony else took ahold of one another’s hooves. With the combined magic of the three beings, they easily teleported to the outside of Fluttershy’s cottage.

“Now, where is she?” Rainbow asked.

“I told you, I don’t know! That’s why I’ve brought you all here! Now, let’s start searching!” Discord flew into the Everfree Forest, and when he noticed they weren’t coming along with him, he said:

“Well, are you coming or not?”

“Well, um, it’s just that-” Rarity began, her pupils shrunken in fear at the ghastly forest.

“Oh nevermind, you ponies are too scared to be on your own. How about pairs? One pair looks in each direction, North, East, West, and, well, Fluttershy’s cottage is South, so don’t mind looking there.” Discord sighed. ‘Such cowards’ He thought.

“Who’s going to be with who?” Rarity asked again.

“Well since there are 3 beings here who can use magic, I suggest one for each non-unicorn or draconeqqus.” Discord guessed.

“Hey, you sayin’ we Earth ponies can’t handle ourselves?” AppleJack asked as she eyed him angrily.

“No, it’s just for...teleportation uses. But anyways, just pair up quick, and get going!” Discord shouted in mid-air.

“Yo-kay! Ah’ll be with Rarity!” Came AppleJack cry from down below. But before anyone can answer, Discord deanpanned before the unavoidable came.

“Okay, okay! One group will have a pair of three! Now go!” Discord exclaimed and flew, or should I say floated, off into the distance, and soon after the ponies joined up and started their search for the missing yellow pegasus deep into the Everfree Forest.

Fluttershy was scared. Very scared. She was being chased around by some thing that she could not see, or at least not at the moment. She galloped as fast as she could, scared for her life. ‘Oh, where’s a friend to help when you need it?’ She asked herself as she ran.

Suddenly she found herself smacking into an invisible wall, and the monster behinjd her laughed.

“My, my, what do we have here, a pony, perhaps? Hmm, they always amuse me.” The monster revealed itself as a large, black demon pony, with huge, tattered, bat-like wings. It was ery frightening, and the monster’s deep, dark, voice made it all the scarier.

“You can not get out, little earth pony, for I have these walls that surround you 50 feet tall! Even an olympic jumper couldn’t do that, let a regular earth pony. Oh, have I forgot to introduce myself? I am Dark Age, The Lord of Darkness! Mwahahahahahaha!” Dark Age laughed.

But that didn’t matter. What mattered was that he had no idea that she was a pegasus, and that was what she used to her advantage. Bravely, she squeaked:

“O-Oh yeah? Well, then l-let’s see about that!” Fluttershy burst into the air, to the point where she thought was above the invisible walls, and flew as fast as she could, which wasn’t very fast, but fast enough to just get out of the demon’s way.

But Dark Age was creeping closer, and closer, until they were a mere eight-some feet away, and right when he was about to finish her, Dark Age stopped immediately.

“Discord? What in the name of Nightmares are you doing here? And what happened to you?” Came his sudden, surprised boom. In front of him stood Discord, whom he practically considered a brother, as they were both “Lords”.

“Dark Age! What are you doing terrorizing my dear friend, Fluttershy?” he asked sternly, and straight to the point.

“Ha! Since when did you have friends, dear brother?" He laughed.

“Since my reforming, by the prissy Tia’s rule!” Discord retorted. “But that doesn’t mean that I am not powerful anymore! Why, I could turn you into a frog, or a bunny, in an instant if you dare hurt her!”

“My, my, Discord!” Dark Age said, slowly circling around his "brother". “I thought that you were the Lord of Chaos! Whatever happened, my dear brother?” Dark Age had tried to manipulate Discord, but only few times did he ever succeed. Nonetheless, he tried again. “We could rule the world together, could we not? Yes, the ponies could live in both Darkness and Chaos, could they not?” He paused before continuing. “Hmm, yes we could, dear brother!”

“Enough! I will not dare be brother with one who tries to manipulate me! Not after my encounter with Tirek!” Discord cried.

“Then only one shall be one Lord! Let you suffer on this day Discord, for we shall fight!” Dark Age readied himself into a fighting stance.

“Anywhere, any time!” Discord dared.

“Stop!” Came a sudden shout from Fluttershy. “Please! Both of you can be Lords! There are plenty in the world! So please don’t fight each other! Discord has already been wounded from battling Timberwolves and I don’t want him to get hurt anymore!”

“Wait," Dark Age stopped, his face glowing with new found realization. "so you’ve been fighting...all this time? Creating suffering to other kinds?” Dark Age inquiried.

“Um, sure! Yes!” Discord puffed out his chest in hopes to look honest to his word. “What else do you think happened to me?”

“Very well then, brother. Seeing that you have not gotten soft and do deserve to be named the title “Lord”, then I shalln’t disturb anymore. Farewell, brother.” He turned around. “By the way, give the princesses my regards and tell then I want them dead.”

“I will,” Discord called, and Dark Age left, leaving both speechless. It had just tooken that one lie to make him stop the enitre tussle!

Fluttershy sighed with relief, happy that the two weren’t going to fight each other and get hurt. She needed to thank Discord yet again for saving her!

“D-Discord!”

“Yes?” He turned around as he headed back towards Fluttershy’s cottage.

“Thank you, for saving me again.” She muttered.

“Oh, you don’t need to thank me, really, my dear!” Discord yelped in modesty.

“Why not? You’ve saved me twice, all in a matter of one day! And, how you just told him to back off, that was a-amazing!” Fluttershy exclaimed as she followed the draconeqqus.

“I’ve known him a long time, too. Being a villain means you get to know villains, which can be very useful, as you just saw there. Ah, the fun, or should I say, darkly chaotic times we’ve had together, ravaging havoc among the beings of...whatever things that were nearby.”

“Discord…..” She warned.

“Yeah, yeah, I know, don’t start thinking about ravaging havoc on Equestria again,” Discord grumbled with an annoyed sigh, and the two headed home.

Chapter 5: The Truth and The Secret

The mane six (plus Spike) all had met up at Fluttershy’s cottage about an hour after sunset, for the Everfree Forest was especially dangerous after dark. They were all tired, dirty, and worried.

“If Dip-cord was telling the truth, then what if the Timberwolves came back and-and-” Rainbow Dash wondered. “Ate her!”

“We might never see her again!” Pinkie Pie screamed out loud.

Right at the moment that Pinkie had said that, Discord and Fluttershy opened the door into the cottage.

“I’m home!” Yelped Fluttershy, and immediately everypony crowded around her, crying and giving her hugs.

“Oh Fluttershy! We thought we would never see you again!” Pinkie sobbed.

The mob of ponies finally separated after a few moments. Discod simply rolled his eyes. Everypony was happy that their yellow pegasus friend was safe, including Discord, but yet nopony was happy to even see him.

Fluttershy sighed. “And we owe it all to Discord who brought me back.” she said happily.

The other ponies looked at her like she was crazy. “And yes, I am saying the truth. Now, sit down so we could tell you what happened.” She gestured towards the ground and everypony obediently did so. Discord randomly made a couch appear to sit on, and got himself comfortable.

“I'll tell what happened just now, while you, Discord can tell what happened a few days ago, okay?” She told him sweetly.

“Um,” He paused. He was afraid to anger the ponies and make them think he was lying as he told the story. He sighed. “Very well,” Discord succumbed reluctantly.

“Good. Now I’ll begin.” Fluttershy took a deep breath. “I-I was picking up and spreading branches, to protect my house from further Timberwolf invasions, and I saw a stray branch in the shade. I went over to pick up, but then something punched me in the rear. It laughed maniacally, and so, I started running. After about ten minutes I was rapidly decreasing in speed, and he caught me in an topless, invisible box, about fifty feet high! T-The thing that had chased me around was a huge, demon pony, with a black body and tattered wings. He mistook me for an earth pony, and I used that to my advantage. I flew up and out of the invisible box, just fast enough to get away from his black hooves. But I was tired, and when he was only, about, seven or eight feet away from me, Discord came in. Discord recognized the demon pony as Dark Age, the Lord of Darkness. He defended me, a-and they were about to start a fight over me! But then I convinced Dark Age to back of by telling him about the Timberwolf incident, and Dark Age stopped yelling. He apologized for misunderstanding that Discord was not deemed to be called a Lord, and he went off. Then we started flying back, but because it was getting dark, Discord used the last bit of his energy to teleport us here.” Fluttershy smiled up at Discord, who reddened slightly.

“Fluttershy, I just know him well. Dark Age and I were very close when we were younger, and both being “Lords” we considered each other brothers, much to the dislike of the precious princesses. We both wrecked havoc, and thus, we both learned about each other, like brothers. Alas, I can’t do such anymore, but it was still nice to see ‘ol Darkos still around.” Discord explained.

“Very well,” Fluttershy sighed. “But now it’s your turn.” Discord stiffened, and Fluttershy gave him an encouraging look. Shakily he started his story.

“Well, Fluttershy had insisted we go outside, and so we did. And, well, after a while my sides started to hurt, and to, um, comfort myself, I settled down.” He skipped the details, much to the consent of himself and Fluttershy. “I….awoke to the sound of screaming, and, realizing that it was from the one and only Fluttershy, I ran off to the sound of the scream. There, I found Fluttershy, cornered, and so I let out a "roar"…” Discord stopped. He didn’t want to brag in front of all these ponies.

“And he slashed an entire Timberwolf in half!” Fluttershy squeaked. The ponies just sat, mouth agape, listening to every word.

Discord gulped. “Yes, I-I did, and then when tackling another one, the last Timberwolf came up behind me and just….tore at my leg.” He wiggled his goat hoof, then continued. “Even so, I managed to destroy both Timberwolves, and after that, I...well….” Discord tried to finish.

“He passed out.” Fluttershy finished bluntly

Discord looked over the ponies, all mouths agape. “Now what are you ponies all staring at? Hmph! Rude!” He suddenly gave out a snort as Twilight shook her head and looked him straight in the eye.

“We’re not trying to be rude, but,” She began.

“The fact that you would save somepony other than yourself is practically unbelievable!” Rainbow Dash finished, and Discord gasped. “Yeah, you heard me! You’re always messing up someone’s fun! Like with Cadence and Twilight, that time with the Tree of Harmony,Tirek-everything!”

“Really? You blame me for all your troubles? Even after all we've been through? My, my seems like nopony’s going to get along around here, now are we?" Discord retorted, and both beings snarled venemously at each other.

Before anything happened to cause a certain I-hope-you-get-better party, Pinkie jumped in. “Hey! How about we have some cupcakes?” She exclaimed happily, with a platter of cupcakes in her hooves.

Rainbow looked towards the cupcakes and politely grabbed one. She sighed. “Thanks.”

“You’re welcome! Does anypony else wish to have some cupcakes?” Almost all the others nodded and took one, except Discord. Pinkie noticed the draconeqqus’ frustrated face.

“You want one, Discord?”

“Oh? Um, yes, Pinkie, that would be delightful, very much indeed. Thank you.” he mused, and Pinkie Pie felt slightly relieved to see him be himself again. She didn’t like for anyone to be unhappy around her famous cupcakes.

Snapped out of her daze, Rarity asked: “I am sorry to be impolite, but I am finding this quite hard to believe too.”

“Darn tootin’,” AppleJack agreed.

“Yeah, I mean, well, it’s...it's...oh, I don’t know!” Spike flailed about.

“I think what everyone’s saying is that we haven’t really seen you ever doing something beneficial to another pony, Discord. I mean, you’re usually onto some sort of trick, even after our all our adventures we've been through together!” Twilight simply answered for everypony.

“Well, since my magic had been busted up until a few mere hours ago from some, magenta beam of light-” He looked down at the color of Twilight’s horn, the same color as before! “You!” He snarled at her. “You were the one that shot that, that laser at me! How dare you?!?” Discord looked ready to pounce, and Twilight was clearly scared by the draconeqqus’ angry tone of voice.

But before Discord could pounce, Fluttershy stepped in. “Discord, calm down! What are you talking about?”

“I am talking about her!” He pointed a claw accusingly at Twilight. “You were the one who caused me to crash in here!” Discord narrowed his eyes. “I don’t get how you ponies could get away with such a thing, I mean, just a couple of hours before sunset, you decided to send a-a laser at me!” He practically screamed. Discord was furious.

Twilight’s eyes suddenly widened when Discord mentioned the time of day when the beam almost hit him. She looked at him blankly before shaking her head.

“Well, Princess?”

“Discord, let me just say that I’m sorry. The beam that came towards you wasn’t on purpose, it was just an accident. I was practicing a freezing spell, and since my aim was just a little off, it must've caused the beam of magic to bounce about until it bounced up and out of the library.” Twilight apologized.

Discord scoffed. “Still! Why was your aim off, hmm? And, anyways, if what you say is true, that beam could’ve frozen me!” he wailed

“Well, I guess I just got distracted. Plus, that freeze magic would have only lasted about a minute or so, but saying that you were up in the air...” Twilight muttered.

“That could’ve hurt me!”

“It seems so, but, just don’t think I did it on purpose, okay?” She worded sincerely.

Discord could tell that she was being truthful and sincere, so he backed off. “Very well then,” He grumbled. He looked around. Clearly nopony wanted him there, and it seemed that the ponies just wanted to talk to Fluttershy. “Well, then, it seems that I am not wanted here. I will be leaving, goodnight.” He declared emotionlessly and glanced downwards. “If you need me, I’ll be upstairs.” Discord teleported out of the room.

“Good riddance,” AppleJack whispered to Rarity and the uptight mare softly snickered.

“Oh dear.” Sighed Fluttershy.

“Why the down face, Fluttershy?” Pinkie asked.

“Well, Discord’s just been frustrated with some things and right now it doesn’t look like he’s been feeling better. I mean, he’s quite in pain. That’s why he got so mad at you, Twilight.” Fluttershy explained to Pinkie.

“Really? Pardon me but he don’t really seem like he’s the one “in pain”. But Fluttershy, truthfully Ah think you should just leave him alone. You’re making him sound like something he’s not!” AppleJack disagreed, shaking her head.

Sharply and quickly, Fluttershy retorted: “And let you ponies bully him?”

Everypony sat silent for a moment as Fluttershy looked expectantly.

“You may not be the Elements of Kindness, but you still can be nice!" She scolded sternly. “All you ponies tell me things that you don’t even do to be nice!” her voice lowered as she continued in a mumble. “And, well, I don’t think anypony is going to get along here; it seems we’ll all have to change- including him.” Fluttershy pointed her head upstairs.

“Argh! That’s it! I am tired of this! Can’t you see that we don’t want to get along with him? He's not good with us anymore! Not like he used to be! So please stop trying to force us to get along agin! That’s not nice either!” Rainow screamed at Fluttershy, purposefully loud enough for Discord to hear. “That’s the truth!” She dashed out of the cottage, smacking the door shut behind her.

“Rainbow! I’m not trying to make you be friends with him! I just want you to stop fighting!!!!” Fluttershy cried, galloping outside of her cottage as she tried to keep up with the cyan pegasus. Seeing no luck, she ran back into the cottage sobbing.

“Fluttershy! Are you-?” AppleJack began, but was interrupted by another one of the butter-colored pegasus's wails.

Fluttershy faced her friends. “I am not trying to make you be friends with him! I-I just want you to stop fighting!” Fluttershy sobbed, as she ran upstairs.

Twilight, Pinkie, Rarity, Spike, and AppleJack stood speechless for a moment, then quietly exited the cottage. They knew to give her some space, and besides, today had been a very exciting and busy day for the shy pegasus. They went home silently. Today was the most argumentive day they’ve encountered, ever since Twilight and the changeling invasion.

Fluttershy ran into her room, sobbing loudly. She quickly turned on the lights and focused herself on Discord, her eyes swollen from her crying.

“Fluttershy-!” Discord began, but before he could even asked what happened, for he hadn’t been actually listening, she ran straight into him and cried.

“I-I tried to get them to stop fighting with you! I tried but-” Fluttershy sobbed.

Discord hushed her. He knew that they hated him, in fact, it seemed as if all of Equestria hated him now, even after he proved himself to be reformed after Tirek's defeat. Slowly, he wrapped his arms around the pegasus and they sat there for a long time, until Fluttershy finally released him.

“You don’t have to try so hard, Fluttershy,” Discord faced her. “I am hated by mostly everypony on Equestria, besides Darkos and you.” He also looked downcast, somewhat depressed too.

“I know, but didn’t you tell me that the ponies used to love and tolerate you as a regular pony?” Fluttershy asked.

“Yes, they did, but ever since….” Discord couldn’t finish.

“You went crazy, but that’s only because you didn’t have anypony who loved you anymore. I’m pretty sure I would be like that if nopony were to love me too.” She took a long pause before she continued. “And well, s-somepony...somepony...” She almost couldn’t get herself to say it. “does….love….you…..” She looked up at him sheepishly, her face obviously showing her embarrassment and thoughts as bright as day.

Discord snorted. “And who would that be, dear Fluttershy? As if anypony would love me...” Discord grumbled.

“Well, that pony is….um......m-me.” Fluttershy squeaked; Discord’s ears perked up and he looked her straight in the eye. Fluttershy was blushing heavily, and after giving a knowing smile, Discord slowly pulled her in, and kissed her. Fluttershy did not resist his kiss, as her feelings were finally known, but only within this secret of Discord and her.

After what felt like an eternity the two finally pulled apart.

“Does this mean that...you like me back?” Fluttershy asked. Discord nodded. “Then…let’s just keep this as our...little secret. You know, um, since my friends aren’t exactly…” Fluttershy continued.

“Yeah, I know, but anyways” Discord yawned. “Let’s get some sleep.” And with that he teleported out of the room, and onto the couch downstairs.

Fluttershy collapsed onto her bed. “Goodnight,” She whispered, and the pegasus fell fast asleep.

Chapter 6: Getting Better

The next morning was quite awkward. Discord woke up yet again to the sound of Fluttershy feeding her animals. Fluttershy had already made breakfast, which were daisy sandwiches and ranch (For Discord) and some hay biscuits for herself. After eating in an utter silence, Discord finally broke the almost painful silence.

“What if your friends find out about our…..relationship?” He asked.

“Well, then we’ll just have to tell them.” She answered shyly, blushing. Then she noticed the slightly frightened look that came from Discord, and a look of concern crossed her face. “Discord? Are you...afraid that they’ll find out?”

He shrugged. “I’m not afraid, I just don’t think that’ll end well, especially with Miss Aggressive, or otherwise known as Rainbow Dash.” Discord replied.

Fluttershy sighed. “Yeah, you’re right, but on the bright side, at least we know about our feelings for each other,” the two awkwardly shared a brief kiss, much to the disgust of Angel Bunny.

“Ouch! Little brat!” Discord yelped as Angel bit his reptile-claw.

“Angel! Stop it!” Angle only gave her a no-I-won’t-you-moron-he-kissed-you look.

Fluttershy looked him in the eye, her eyes shrunken to the size of mini-golf balls. “If you don’t I’ll have to use the stare on you!”

Angel immediately obeyed, and backed off.

“Now, if you’re wondering, Discord and I confessed our feelings for each other last night,” Fluttershy spoke to her animals as Discord entire face reddened. “I love him, and he loves me, right Discord?”

Discord nodded. “It was pretty unusual that we, er, confessed after such a tiresome day, but then again, some people just do it in the royal gardens,” Discord made a look of disgust. “And it is not pretty.”

Fluttershy laughed. “Anyways, I want you all to Pinkie Promise not to tell anypony, okay?”

Almost every creature gave a yes or a nodd of response. All except the infamous Angel. He simply grunted and shot looks at the draconeqqus.

“Now Angel,” Fluttershy began to lecture, “Discord has saved me twice in these past couple of days, and also is protecting us from Timberwolves by being kind enough to have spreaded out the rest of the branches. I don’t know about you, but I’m sure he’s changed.” Angel glared indifferently at the mare as she finished, unhappy.

“Oh! I know what to do!” Discord cried and in that in that exact moment Angel’s favorite dish appeared right before him. Angel’s eyes widened and he gave a happy nodd to Discord.

“Okay! You got my lips sealed!” Angel yepled as he began to chow down.

Noticing the relieved look on the shy pegasus’s face, Discord asked:

“What did he say?”

“He said he’s got his lips sealed.”

“But I don’t think bunnies have lips, do they?”

“Oh Discord, of course they do.”

“Well, then, for a being of over a thousand years old I sure am a moron.”

They a chuckle arose, and soon enough both laughed, and continued to eat their breakfast meal.

“Rainbow!” The Princess Twilight Sparkle knocked on Rainbow Dash’s door. “Rainbow! I know you’re in there! Come on out!” Twilight heard a grumble as the door was slowly unlocked before her.

“What do you want, Twilight?” the cyan pegasus asked, annoyed.

“I think you know exactly what I want. About last night.” Twilight said sternly. “Why did you just fly off like that? Did you even hear Fluttershy? She was just trying to make you stop fighting with Discord! Not become pals with him! And after you all flew off, she was crying-no-sobbing! You made her cry, Rainbow!” She lectured in a loud, stiff, voice.

Rainbow almost couldn’t believe it. “Realy? I did?” She squeaked.

“Yes! That’s what I just told you!” Twilight retorted angrily. “I mean, Fluttershy isn’t the only one mad with your behavior. You could at least stop insulting him all the time.” She glared at the cyan pegasus, who shrank under the alicorn's glare.

“I guess I should go apologize, then.” Rainbow Dash laughed nervously, and she flew off in a bright aray of colors.

Twilight rolled her eyes. “Rainbow, sometimes I wonder why you’re not the Element of Brutality.” She mumbled to herself.

Fluttershy nuzzled Discord affectionately as he ruffled her mane playfully. The two had been laughing at past experiences, one including the infamous Trixie and surprisingly, Tirek.

Just then, a knock on the door was heard, and the two immediately separated. Fluttershy quietly opened the door. Much to her discomfort, it was Rainbow Dash.

“Oh! Rainbow Dash...um…”

“Look, I’m sorry for last night, I guess I just got mad because I misunderstood you. Twilight told me what you had been trying to do all along, and….I’m sorry….to both of you.”

Discord, hearing this, said. “You can be forgiven for what happened yesterday as it was a-er-misunderstanding, but not for the all other times, make sure of that, my little pony!” Mimicking Rainbow’s voice, he added, “It was totally not twenty percent cooler.”

Rainbow tensed. But upon seeing Discord’s face in the background matching hers, which was basicallya grumpy, Scrooge look, she softened and laughed.

“Yeah, I guess you are right. Mind if I come in?” Fluttershy moved out of the way and Rainbow Dash strutted inside. “Nice. I see you removed the doorway to the kitchen.” She commented.

“Wait, does that mean that door was just removed?” Discord asked, confused.

“Nah, I just haven’t been inside Fluttershy’s house for a long time, ever since Twilight got her wings really.” Rainbow explained.

“My, my, that was years ago! I thought you would be a better friend and visit Fluttershy more often, but I guess I was wrong.” Discord defiantly stated. Choosing to ignore his comment Rainbow Dash turned towards Fluttershy.

“So, yeah, Fluttershy. I’m really sorry about what happened, really! But I can’t stay here, I-I just gotta Dash!” The cyan pegasus quickly walked back and out the door. “Buuuuuut, I can stop by tomorrow!” And she flew. off.

“Oh boy, I can already sense that tomorrow will not go well.” Discord hypothesized.

“Not if you be nice.” Fluttershy said sternly. “I mean, she’s just trying to be nice, and if you are too, then maybe you can finally get along!”

“Yeah, yeah, very well. I’ll try to get along, but no promises.” He grumbled, and the two finaly finished their meal.

After about an hour or so, the two decided to head out and about again. They chose the same path, even though just the day before was the Timberwolf incident.

“Why did you choose to walk through this path again, dear Fluttershy?” Discord asked as soon as they started their journey.

“Well, Timberwolves usually don’t disturb me, and after what happened last night, I don’t think that they’ll disturb me again for a while.” She looked towards him, and gasped.

“What?” He asked dumbly.

“Your wing, Discord! Look!” Fluttershy exclaimed. Discord looked back. His pegasus wing was flapping perfectly in sync with his bat wing. ‘How did I not realize that before?’ He asked himself.

“Wow. Looks like I won’t need those bandages anymore. But because I can’t reach them because of...well, you know, could you, would mind-?” He asked.

“Taking the bandages off? No problem. Just turn around, and stop flapping your wings.”

“Very well.” Discord stopped flapping his wings and held himself up with his magic. He was happy that he had the ability to do this while the princesses could not, or at least without using a lot of energy. Fluttershy carefully took off Discord’s bandages.

“There,” Passing a small trash can, for they were flying quite quickly and had reached the edge of Ponyville, Fluttershy threw the bandages in. “But, I must say, you sure do heal fast, Discord.” She finished.

“Draconeqqui are known for their fast healing abilities.” He declared proudly. “Another good talent, eh?” Discord playfully elbowed her. but once seeing the look of sadness and concern in her face, he immediately became more worried. “Fluttershy?” He lifted her head up with his eagle's claw.

“Hmm?” She hummed as she looked up at him.

“Why are you so sad, m'dear?” He said the last word in a hush, so nopony else could hear. Realizing this might be personal, he teleported himself and Fluttershy to her cottage.

“Well, if you are feeling better, then that means that you’ll have to go back to Canterlot early.” She paused. “Like, at this rate, you might need to go back tomorrow.”

Now it was his turn to look down. “Yeah, I guess you are right.” He paused. “But...I could always still pretend I’m sick!” Discord thought out loud and smiled mischievously.

Fluttershy shook her head sadly. “That wouldn’t be right. Anyways, weren’t you supposed to be giving Celestia those herbs you had?” She asked.

“Oh, please, it’s not like she depends on it.” Discord scoffed.

Just then a knock was heard on the door. “Come in,” Fluttershy said. The pony, a royal guard, stepped in.

“The princess Celestia is terribly sick,” Was all he said.

Chapter 7: All Over Again

The guard was right, Celestia was terribly sick. She looked just as her mother did a thousand years ago, and Discord, even though he admittedly had sometimes disliked her, was very worried.

“Tia! What..what happened to you?” He looked down at his old playmate, whom suddenly looked like the age she was: well over a thousand years old. Beside her was Twilight and Cadence, whilst Luna was nowhere to be seen. ‘Where’s Luna?’ He thought.

Meanwhile the sun princess gave a small laugh. “Remember this scene, Discord?” the draconeqqus nodded. “Well, it seems like it’s happening….all over again.” Just then Luna came in, a soup with herbs that came from Discord’s bag, which he just realized he was missing.

“Dear sister, the moon is raised, and this brew I give to you. Are…” Princess Luna, whom Discord sometimes would call Lu-Lu, trembled. “Are you sure this is what happened to….mother?”

The elder princess nodded. “Do not hang your heads, dear ponies, for it is my time. I am well over a thousand years old, must I remind you of that. I assign Twilight to the Sun, and Luna may help a few times if needed, as I will soon be gone.” She coughed violently. Twilight gasped.

“P-Princess…..Is there anything I can do to help?” Twilight asked.
Now both Discord and Celestia laughed pitifully, much to the confusion of the others. “That’s exactly what Discord said, and, as my mother did so very kindly, I will reply...” Celestia started weakly. Discord hung his head and recited the words with her. This was really happening, again!

“This is but my time Twilight, but promise me yet, that you will keep your friendships together, forever, no matter what happens. When you separate, I fear someday, the world will be filled in utter depression, for, the most powerful magic of all, will be broken that day, and that magic is… the magic of friendship.” The two finished simultaneously.

After talking a long, deep breath, Discord stammered to find words. “Tia, I….I can’t bear to see you like this, I know I might be sounding sappy and all, but I’ve known you for so long-”

“And, I must admit, I will miss you too, all of you. I must agree that I have known you long, Discord, Luna, but do not be sad, for my spirit will always stay with you all, I will still do my best to guide you all along, even in the afterlife. I will still watch after you all, especially you and Luna.” Celestia finished. She gave one last weak laugh, and slowly closed her eyes for the last time.

“Princess, no!” Twilight buried her head into Cadence’s shoulder and wept. After a moment, she looked up, and saw Discord with a look so sincere she almost couldn’t believe it.

“Sister!” Luna wept, hugging the draconeqqus, whom looked down as a few salty tears rolled down his oddly shaped face. He hugged her back like they were old friends, which they actually used to be. His eyes were closed and a look of knowing was written on his face.

“You’ve been through this twice, haven’t you Discord?” Twilight asked, breaking the weeping silence.

Discord solemnly nodded. “Staria, and now Tia. Both died the same way, both remind me of one another.” He grinned. “Sometimes I couldn’t tell ‘em apart.” He took a shaky breath, and looked down at Luna, who still crying. “Looks like this isn’t going to be a happy week, for anypony. “ His tail snapped, and rainclouds-normal ones-filled the sky, emitting a saddening rain.

Twilight and the others nodded, and left the room, taking a distraught Luna with them.

Discord got on all fours, and slowly walked up to Celestia's cold body.

"Tia," he caressed her pale white cheek lovingly and pressed his lips to her forehead brotherly before getting back up and silenty leaving the room.

Celestia’s funeral was the biggest one in all of pony history-even bigger than Staria’s (Probably because of population growth). Many ponies spoke, none of which including Discord, surprisingly. He just stood there, shroud in utter depression as his black coat dripped with the morning’s dew. He was very calm, and after the funeral, Fluttershy invited him over to her house for the rest of the week.

“Discord?”

“Hmm?” Discord snapped out his thoughts. Fluttershy gently flew up to him.

“Are you...alright? I was hoping to take a stroll, but it seems like this is more important.” She paused, and looked deeply into his face. “You’re so...calm. Too calm. It’s like you’ve...changed, and, well, I don’t like to see you like this.” She looked at him worriedly.

The old draconeqqus sighed. “I guess I have been, dear Fluttershy.” Fluttershy weakly smiled. He was starting to call her dear again. “Tia’s death has just left a big impact on me. Now Lu-Lu and I are the only long-living beings left.”

“Who’s... Lu-Lu? And...w-what about Twilight?” The yellow pegasus asked.

“Lu-Lu is my nickname for Princess Luna. And, what I mean is that her and I are the only ones from our time, about a thousand years ago. Twilight is only a mere teenager. And must I remind you that to live for thousands of years, or be immortal is not a very good thing. Luna will outlive you all, you know.” He scoffed, paused, and sighed. “And so will I.”

“Oh,” Was all the shy pegasus said, and the room was shrouded in silence again. After a few moments later, she looked up. Hoping to cheer him up, she shyly turned his face towards her and gave him a kind, loving kiss.

Discord smiled, and kissed her back. After the two broke apart, Discord surrendered. “Fine, fine, you got me. Let’s go out. It looks pretty nice, no?” He said the last line in a funny accent. “Go get me some cheer. Or beer.” Fluttershy gasped, and the draconeqqus laughed. “Just kidding!”

“Don’t kid around like that, mister!”

“You’re not my mother!”

“So?”

“Hey! I was just suggesting that your friend Pinkie would be good at getting cheer, and AJ beer! Or should I say cider?”” Discord smirked at her slyly as she gasped from shock.

“Cider is just a beverage! Not acho-!” Fluttershy was caught of by Discord’s paw.

“Nah, ah! Cider could be turned into that! High grade, from what I remember?” Discord rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Or was that just from Transformers?”

“Trans-what? Oh, nevermind.” Seeing Discord was back to his old self, the two went out into the slightly rainy, yet still humid day.

Although still sad for his now deceased old playmate, Discord was back, and acting like himself again. Twilight was now learning to raise the sun, which she did quite expertly for a beginner. But most importantly, all of Equestria was oblivious to the nineteen year old pegasus’s and draconeqqus’ relationship. At least to Fluttershy and Discord. The young mare was surprised that no more villains had showed up for the past three years. The last big thing that she could remember was opening the crystal chest in the Everfree Forest and Tirek's escape.

“You know, Discord, there haven't been any villains for about three years...I wonder when something is going to come up; I haven’t had a big adventure with the others for quite awhile.” Fluttershy sighed.

“So, you want me to become evil again? Ha! Weren’t you supposed to ‘reform’ me?” Discord joked.

“No, not you, but someone else. I mean, I don’t want anypony to die or something…” the timid butter colored pegasus tried to explain.

So you just want an adventure?” The pony faced draconeqqus picked her up suddenly, scaring her. “Then I’ll give you an adventure!” They teleported just above Ponyville. Discord’s eyes flashed with his love for chaos. Reminding him of his title was not a good idea. Something seemed to have just snapped in him.

“Discord! What are we...you doing?!?” Fluttershy asked frantically

“You wanted a villain? Well I’m here!” Discord laughed maniacally, and then wiped at his eyes. Suddenly the scene before her vanished, and she realized she was still in her house.

“W-What?” She asked, confused. “Was that all an…”

“Illusion? Yes! But you should have seen the look on your face! It was hilarious! Hahaha, oh goodness!” Discord began laughing so hard, his stomach hurt and his sides ached.

“Don’t scare me like that, Discord!” Fluttershy scolded, but that only made him laugh harder.

Discord gave a moan of pain from his still-bandaged sides, which should have been clear of their bandages a few days ago. After a moment Fluttershy finally joined him, but only coming up to a giggle. Ten minutes passed until Discord had finally stopped. Fluttershy sat trough all of it.

“Ooh,” Discord hissed. “I don’t feel too good. Think I laughed too much?” He asked.

Fluttershy gave him a what-do-you-think look. “After laughing for more than ten minutes straight, don’t you think your sides will hurt? Hmm?” She looked at him expectantly.

Discord sat down. “Yeah...but literally, I don’t feel to good. At all! Mind helping,dear Element of Kindness?” The playful draconeqqus looked up at her pleadingly.

“Not when you get yourself into it like this,” Was the so-ever-kind element bearer's reply, and she stood up to go make some dinner.

Discord scoffed. “And just when I thought you were the most kind pony I’ve ever met!”

Twilight and Luna sat, depressed, as they hadn’t yet turned back into their normal selves. Celestia was gone, forever!

“Princesses? Anything I can get you?” A waiter asked. The two were currently at the dinner table.

“Oh, yes! Um, could I have some….daisy sandwiches?” Twilight asked absentmindedly.

Luna simply sighed, and stirred her tea.

“Luna?” Twilight pointed with her head at the waiter.

“Oh, yes, I would like...some soup. Yes, um, soup please.” She grinned sheepishly, as if to not worry the poor ponies before her.

“Very well! I will get you girls your food in a few moments.” He left, slamming the kitchen door behind him.

“Princess…I know that you’re sad, but the moon should be-” Twilight looked at her worriedly.

“Up? Yes, but the ponies can live in an extra hour of sundown! Can’t they? Because I sure do know that they always loved Celestia’s light!” Luna shouted and broke out into tears, sobbing softly.

Twilight also started shedding her own tears. Luna continued. “It will never be the same! Oh, dear sister, I feel as if a half of me has been torn off!” She sobbed.

But then, a magical light surrounded the two devastated princesses. Sparkles arranged together to form an image of Celestia, waving her hoof at them. Luna and Twilight gasped.

“I’m finally together with my old pony friends,” She whispered. “But I still miss you all. Now, I don't have much time now, but we will speak to each other again! Goodbye!"

"Celestia!" But before Luna could even finish, the sparkles separated in a ball and exploded, sending showers of light, the last of Celestia fading away in the short vision.

Unfortunately, the waiter had just came in. “Oh my, are you that interested in the wall?” he shouted rudely.

“Celestia…” Was all the two said.

“Say WHAT?” He asked, having no idea what they were talking about.

“Celestia, she was there! She-she...I don’t know what to say!” Twilight exclaimed realizing her unbeknownst to her held breath.

The waiter laughed. “Oh yes, surely you saw the deceased Celestia! My my, I suggest that you both go to sleep early tonight, for I think you’ll need it, dear princesses!” He laughed at them, and they realized that they were the only two that saw the bright illusion.

Blushing, Twilight let out a weak chuckle. “Oh um, yes! I-We will surely go to bed early! Thank you!” Twilight nudged Luna, who spoke back a similar reply.

The waiter gave them their dishes, which they soon ate hungrily, and they left, first to the balcony to raise the moon, and then to the royal showers.

After taking a nice, long shower they headed off to their bedrooms. But just as they reached their rooms, Luna finally broke the silence.

“She’s still here, and so is my other half,” She looked at Twilight. “She kept her promise.”

wilight only nodded, as they each opened their door and went inside. She didn’t feel like talking, but only thinking.

Both were going to have a long night, as the scene brought many new things to their minds, like how Celestia was able to accomplish this, and not Staria. And, finally, how the two got sick in the first place, which seemed like a long answer that seemed like it could barely be reached.

Chapter 8: Lost & Found

“Twilight! I think I may have found it!” Luna yelled to Twilight in the Royal Library. They had been searching for what caused Staria’s and Celestia’s death for weeks, getting so caught up that they even told all of Twilight’s friends, including Discord, to come help look.

Twilight galloped over, nearly running over and into Luna. “Really? Let me see! Now!” Luna shoved the book towards her, and Twilight eagerly grabbed it.

The others soon joined them, doubtful looks on their faces.

“Oh, great! Maybe this time, it'll be the right one!" Discord used much sarcasm, in his voice, which soon turned to complete frustration. "Might I say-" Discord continued "-that this is an extremely boring place!"

Twilight took a deep breath. “This...this is it, I’m certain! Everypony, gather around!” Everybody (Spike and Discord aren't ponies) sat down, and Twilight began.

“Sineth Abosocis is a rare disease that only harms alicorns.” Twilight stated with a gulp. “When getting this disease, the specific pony will not know that they have this, only when they are at their sudden death. It is not contagious, and can only be passed down to ONE offspring, if they choose to have foals.” She looked at Luna, who showed slight relief on her face. “The only symptom of this disease is sudden death at exactly two thousand years. How this disease is caused is by exposure to the Star’s Ellipse, a rare plant that gives off a certain kind of gas that intoxicates any alicorn with it. The Star’s Ellipse is only found in the Ever-Free Forest, north of the ancient ruins of the Castle of the Two Sisters.” Twilight paused to turn a page, but not before looking up to the others.

“Golly…” AppleJack muttered.

“The Star’s Ellipse can only be destroyed with the magic of both…” Twilight paused, surpressing a gasp as she stared at the book in confused awe.

“Why did you stop, Twilight?!? Is there something wrong, dear?" Rarity asked.

“Yea, the suspense is killing me! Go on!” Pinkie Pie squealed, twitching almost violently.

Twilight opened her mouth, and slowly finished her sentence. “A draconeqqus and the Elements of Harmony.”

Gasps were heard all over the room. Even Discord was shocked.

“Wait, WHAT?” Discord looked dumbfounded.

Everypony nodded their heads. Exactly what they were thinking.

“But, the elements are gone! Forever!” Rainbow pointed out.

“Yeah, the Tree of Harmony needs them!” Spike jumped in.

“Wait! The Tree of Harmony!” Fluttershy looked up at Discord. “You can still use it!”

The group turned their heads to look at Fluttershy.

“What?” Twilight asked.

“Yes, I believe we can.” Luna exchanged glances with Discord. All the others except Fluttershy hadn’t known that Discord, Celestia, and Luna’s friendship had created the Tree of Harmony. “You told her?” Luna mouthed to the draconeqqus. Discord nodded.

Twilight, AppleJack, RainbowDash, Pinkie Pie, Rarity and Spike simply gasped yet again at Luna’s surprising comment.

“How, can you two use the Tree of Harmony?” Rarity and Twilight pressed on simultaneously.

“Simple. Lu-Lu, Tia, and I just-” Discord cut himself off, and gave a questioning look. Talking by a way of glances, Discord looked at Luna, who told him a simple “Yes” with a nod.

Discord took in a breath before continuing. ‘Why am I having so much trouble telling them this? It nothing, really!’ He thought to himself.

“Well, what ‘cha waiting for?” AppleJack asked, growing impatient.

“Well, you may not really BELIEVE me, but I’m just going to explain, so don’t insult me while I’m telling the story.” He glared at Rainbow Dash for a brief moment before continueing. “Well, when Tia, Lu-Lu, and I were very young, and Staria was still in charge, I wasn’t, well, evil. I had actually been known and cherished among the pony folk, which were very strange in religion back then, trust me! Twilight, did you ever noticed how I practically KNEW what Celestia was going to say? And how I nodded when you asked me if I had been through that twice? Well, right before Queen Staria died, she said those words. And what you asked Celestia was exactly what I asked her.”

Twilight sat, stunned. “Really? The EXACT same words?”

Discord chuckled. “Well, not EXACTLY, but pretty still close! She was so worried that if the three of us ever became enemies, utter chaos would occur. Not that I would would mind that, though.”

“Wait, what are ya’ll talking about?” AppleJack asked, not having understood much of the part after "Queen Staria died, she said those words".

“Never mind that, let’s get back on task. I’ll tell the rest of the story.” Luna took ahold of the book, looking sadly at it’s blank, brown cover. “A few days after Staria, my mother, died sister and I got our cutie marks.” she stated.

“And your hair jobs.” Discord added, grinning.

Luna merely nodded, unwilling to joke about the subject. “But soon after, there was an incident where Discord had gotten his magic out of control, almost out of nowhere.”

“Like when Rainbow’s first sonic rainboom made my magic go berserk?” Twilight asked, beginning to understand the situation.

“Hush Twilight!” Spike called.

“Yup! Exactly! Something, or somebody must’ve messed up my magic, Equestria knows who or where! But everything, and I mean EVERYTHING was turned into absolute chaos. I was able to turn it all back, but I had to be WAY more careful when handling my magic.” Discord's face looked slightly grim at the thought of having everything in order.

Luna didn't nod at all this time, but instead looked blankly ahead of her.

Discord smiled. “Continuing on, little ponies, after that incident soon enough, Tia and Luna had more ‘Royal Duties’ to do and the pony folk began to resent me more and more. The princesses did try to clear up my name, but I was still resented no matter what! So, in all my loneliness of being practically banished by your precious ponies from most towns, I simply turned evil! Simple as that!” Discord teleported next to Fluttershy with a snap of his fingers. “But because of my dear friend here, I was ‘reformed’.” He let out a chuckle. “Anyways, when my relationship with Lu-Lu and Tia got completely torn apart, guess what happened?” The draconeqqus looked over at the others.

All of them, except Luna and Fluttershy, looked at him blankly.

“Really? No guesses? Wow, some smart ponies you are.” Discord huffed. “Well, all that ‘friendship’ had to go somewhere! And that was when the Tree of Harmony was created!”

“Woah...really?” Rainbow asked, stunned.

“So, wait, without Discord, Luna, and Celestia there would be no elements OR the Tree of Harmony?!? Total plot twister!” Came an enthusiastic comment from Pinkie Pie.

It took a while for the others to get this processed. After a few minutes of silence, Fluttershy asked:

“Why didn’t you guys just stay connected? I mean, Twilight has her responsibilities, but she still makes time for us.”

“Well, as you may see, most pony folk are scared of Discord, in the present. It seemed that after Discord’s magic outburst, all the trust in the ponies withered away. They resented him, and, because we couldn’t stand seeing all the villagers scared out of their lives, we had to see him less and less. That is truly why Celestia and I couldn’t see you more often.” Luna said sincerely, and the others could tell that Discord and the two major princesses (Tia and Luna) had an, in fact, very dear relationship.

“Wait a second. If you weren’t always evil, then why don’t you just, like, be your old self again? I mean, you ARE reformed.” Rainbow pressed, suspicious.

Discord shook his head. “Anyways, aren’t we supposed to be thinking about how to kill this plant in the EverFree Forest?” He nervously asked, trying to change the subject.

“Oh yeah!” Rainbow and Pinkie realized at the same time.

"Wait, though, little ponies! I-I still have something to say." Luna looked downcast as she hung her head guiltily.

"What is it, Lu-Lu?" Discord asked, concerned.

"Discord, I-I know what happened to you. Somepony cursed you to let out all of your powers at once, making you go crazy. And sadly, we know who that is..." Luna confessed.

"And who could have done that?" Discord pressed on, urging her to continue.

"Starswirl the Bearded!!" Luna blurted out. Discord sat aback, shocked at the princess' outburst.

"W-Why?" Discord stammered. "I thought he was my friend!"

"He did it because he knew it was your destiny, ever since Staria's death, Discord, he had the urge and he couldn't fight it. No matter what." Luna explained, and Discord's gaze finally softened.

"Yes, I guess that you must be right, Luna." Discord sighed and hung his head shamefully.

"Don't be sad, Discord, it was for the better! Right?" Fluttershy comforted the draconeqqus. The others, except for Rainbow Dash, and one or two others, nodded.

"Yeah yeah, I guess." Rainbow Dash grumbled. "Can we just get the elements back now?"

"Yeah!" Pinkie cheered. "Let's go on an adventure!"

The subject comletely changed, and after a moment Rarity asked one of the most important questions in the situation:

“But dears, how do we get the elements back? I mean, maybe if we all went to the site where the Star’s Ellipse is as the bearers of the elements, but-” Rarity suggested and up looked at Twilight. “I don’t want Twilight to get hurt, or die!”

“Ah agree with ya’ll but, what if we just take the elements out of the Tree of Harmony again? Ah am pretty sure that’s it’s all charged up by now.” AppleJack pointed out.

“Yeah! Why don’t we?” Rainbow agreed, an excited look on her face.

Luna exchanged glances with Discord, then Twilight. “I don’t see why not?” Twilight said and looked at Luna for approval. Luna curtly nodded.

“Then what are we waiting for? Let’s go!” Spike cheered, and everybody got up and out of the library to go prepare for the journey.

Upon arriving the Tree of Harmony, Twilight and the others carefully took the stairs (As Pinkie suggested) down into the mysterious cavern where the Tree of Harmony resided.

Discord and Luna, upon seeing the seeing the tree, both had a pang of nostalgia. This was a scene that brought back many memories.

Discord gave a slightly audible sigh, which unfortunately Fluttershy heard.

“What’s wrong?” She asked him quietly.

“Nothing!” Discord spun back in response. He didn’t want anypony to know about his feelings for the old times he had for the princesses, and their happier times.

Fluttershy udged him, and showed him a smile. “Come on, I know you miss those times when you were...younger.”

Discord reddened. “Oh, psh! So what? I was and I still am young!” He huffed, and stormed off to the start of the crowd.

Once Discord stepped into the start of the cavern, the tree gave a bright glow of response. It was beautiful, making no sense at all, being crystal yet living like a real breathing plant.

Discord liked it.

But the moment that Luna stepped into the cavern and close enough to the Tree of Harmony, a sudden bright glow emerged from the tree. Both Luna and Discord’s eyes went brightly white, and they vanished.

“Princess Luna!” Twilight cried.

“Discord!” Fluttershy yelped.

“Where did they go?” Rainbow Dash asked.

“Ah don’t know, but ya’ll should look at the tree!” AppleJack pointed to the tree, which gave off a bright light, almost blinding the ponies.

“What…is...happening?!?” Rarity asked, her mane being blown all different directions.

The glowing stopped, and the ponies (And baby dragon) gasped as a sign of chaos was put directly below Celestia’s and Luna’s cutie marks magically engraved into the tree.

“Is that Discord’s cutie mark? Or what it would look like?” Spike asked.

“I think so.” Twilight guessed. The mark was one of that with different swirls combining to make a sort of tornado shaped mark. One with swirls that seemed to have the shapes of stars, another with suns, and lastly one with moons at the ends.

The ponies were at loss for words. Never had they seen a cutie mark so complicated as the chaos bringers. But what could you expect, he was the god of chaos!

Another bright flash occurred, and Spike, Twilight, AppleJack, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Fluttershy were teleported in front of the Two Sister’s Castle.

“What in the hay?” AppleJack asked.

“Why are we here?” Rainbow Dash followed.

“Hey! Why does the Tree of Harmony want us- oh I know! The Tree of Harmony probably wants us to go in the caslte! Oh! Or-or....I don't know but let's go in!” Pinkie began babbling.

“Yeah, let's go have an awesome adventure!” Rainbow cheered.

“Oh, I-I am not sure if I should go in, it IS mouse season!” Rarity stopped and looked disdainfully at the crumbling castle.

Everypony stopped and stared at the whiter unicorn.

"What?" Rarity asked.

“Rarity!” All of them, except Spike and Fluttershy, yelled at her simultaneously.

“Fine, fine! I’ll go in!” Rarity succumbed and followed grimly into the castle.

“Good, because now I do NOT want to lose another princess.” Twilight huffed.

“And I don’t want to lose Discord,” Fluttershy muttered to herself as they went in the large, decayed castle.

Discord found himself in a series of flashbacks, and the pain of those now lost memories was brutal. He would have to admit that if he were a mere pony he would have let go "liquid pride", all the painful memories too painful to bear. Luna was feeling exactly the same.

Finally, when the memories began to cease, Discord and Luna opened their eyes to find themselves deep in the EverFree Forest.

The first question to came to her mind out in the forest, Luna asked:

“Discord? Where...where are we?” Luna was lying down on the lush ground. Discord had luckily found himself flying in midair, just above Luna.

“Wait! Let me check, Lu-Lu!” He teleported up and above the canopy. He gasped. They were right within the boundaries of the gas coming from the Star’s Ellipse.

“You see anything up there?” Luna sked from down below.

“Yes! Just don’t move or you'll die of old age!” Discord shouted and teleported next to Luna, who has gone slightly stiff. “Now, let me cast a protection spell on you m'dear,” A red aura circled around Luna before disappearing into thin air.

“What is with the protection spell?” Luna asked.

“It’s so you don’t get poisoned by the Star’s Ellipse. Now that you’re safe, let’s get going to destroy that...plant!” Discords flew off, and Luna followed hard on his goat hoof and dragon leg.

Once seeing the beautiful plant, Discord immediately gasped and gawked at the sheer beauty of the flower. The Star’s Ellipse was dark blue, but gradient, and it turned into an orange haze at it’s ends. On it, especially in the middle, were white specks as bright as the stars. In the middle it started out completely pitch black.

“Woah,” Luna joined in.

Snapping out of his gaze, Discord stood up straighter. “Nevermind that we gotta-”

“DISCORD?”

Discord spun around. In front of him was Dark Age, the big and powerful.

“What are you doing here, brother? Are you-” Dark Age gasped. “Helping the princess?”

“What? No, I’m just trying to-”

“DON’T lie to me, Discord!” He snarled. “See? I knew you would turn all soft after being around those petty ponies! Compared to what you were when we ruled together you are a fool! And you must be PUNISHED!”

Dark Age suddenly charged at Discord, who only smirked and teleported away, teleporting the princess with him.

"Fine, then, you want a fight? Then I’ll give you a fight!” Taking a deep breath he wrapped Dark Age in his magical aura, casting a spell on him.

“Spells won’t help you anymore, Discord!” Dark Age laughed and rammed into Discord, knocking him into a tree. Luna shrieked.

Discord huffed and took to the skies again, his back looking almost as if it were broken in two. “You know Dark Age, I’ve learned some new things too!” Discord gave a grunt as he struggled a good chunk of his magic into his next spell.

Dark Age laughed. “Like wha-?!?” Dark Age gave a yelp as he was suddenly blasted by a meteor, just big enough to completely squash him. He was dead. Or so it seemed. (Short fight, eh? Well, I got lazy. Sorry, all readers!)

Smoke flew about the air, and after taking a few deep breaths, Discord looked down. “It’s what you deserved, Dark Age,” he growled.

“Discord! Are you alright?” Luna asked, still slightly paralyzed by the short and sudden fight the draconeqqus just had.

“Yeah, let’s just kill the plant already!” he snapped.

“Okay, okay, just wanted to make sure that you were-” Luna began.

“Nevermind it!” Discord snapped once again as he winced from the growing pain in his back. But after a moment he let out a sigh. “Yeah, I am. Let’s just get out of here already, I don’t want to find out if Dark Age is completely dead or not. I’ve seen him come back from the dead before, you know.”

Luna nodded, and her horn started to glow. The Star’s Ellipse began to glow as it was surrounded by a blue and red aura, the red obviously coming from Discord.

“Elements of Harmony, I call upon you!” Luna called. “Please, heed my call to destroy this plant whom has taken my beloved mother and sister!”

Discord watched as the plant became uprooted, and it glowed for a few moments before it disappeared into thin air. The Star’s Ellipse was finally gone for good, but not before sucking out all of the magic and energy Discord had left. Whilst Luna had a protective spell on her Discord had forgotten to protect himself, and while it will not kill him when he reaches the year two thousand, it sucked all the energy he had left in him. By the end of the spell, Discord passed out, falling backwards and onto a sharp rock that made his made go crack! Surely now did his back break.

“Discord!” Luna looked down at the draconeqqus, noticing the blood that came out of his new fresh wound on his back.

“Luna!” Twilight called out from a small distance away. Luna spun her head around. There was Twilight, followed by Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy, while the others ran on the forest floor. “Thank goodness we found you!”

“Twilight? How did you find us?” Luna asked, confused.

“We saw a bright light and an explosion from over here, and Fluttershy says she saw a pony named Dark Age fighting Discord. Did you destroy the plant? Without the elements?” Twilight asked, panting from her hurried trip.

“Indeed, we did, but Discord got injured, and that spell we used to destroy the Star’s Ellipse must’ve sucked out all the remaining energy from him. It seems the only way that we must’ve been able to destroy the plant is because of me, summoning the element's power, instead of getting them out of the tree. Why were you at my old castle?” Luna explained quickly, finishing at a question.

“Well, it seems that the Tree of Harmony wanted just us to be safe. I saw a bright glow from where the tree resides, and a foggy looking area not too far from your old castle.” Twilight guessed logically.

Fluttershy finally caught up and flew right into the scene, looking frantic. “Discord!” She yelped.

“You’re right, we should get him help, come, Twilight! Help me teleport us back to PonyVille.” Luna nodded, and everypony took hooves, Fluttershy holding Discord’s limp chicken arm, and in a flash the group disappeared.

Took so long and I was talking with my friend Fluttershyfan, which helped me to come up with the idea od Dark Age coming back. Well, actually she asked (and others too, acctually) if Dark Age was going to come back.

Chapter 9: Fight

When Discord woke up yet again on the couch in Fluttershy’s living room, he woke up thinking that nothing had happened. But then massive pain took over his body, and his memory started up. The tree, the flashbacks, Dark Age, the Star’s Ellipse, the sharp pain emanating from his back was the last thing he remembered. Acknowledging that Fluttershy might be in the house, Discord let out a long groan.

“Feeling good, Dip-cord?” Came instead Rainbow Dash's voice as she sneered. “You’re so fragile.”

Discord’s eyes snapped open, and he suddenly lunged towards Rainbow Dash, face red with anger. “How dare you...you idiot!” He pounced on Rainbow Dash, and punched her stout on the face.

Rainbow did the same. “See? I knew you weren’t reformed, even with what happened with Tirek!” Rainbow spat, and soon the two were punching and bruising each other heavilly. Rainbow knocked some good punches into Discord’s back, but as he kept teleporting off to dodge her throws, Rainbow started aiming for the draconeqqus's head.

Discord, on the other hand, was also giving some in brutal hits. Once, he pinned her wings down and gave a good swat at her head, pressing his reptile claw into her skin while doing so.

They kept on and on, battering each other and insulting all the while. All the tension between the two was finally let out, surrounding them like an invisible fire. Rainbow and Discord fought hard, Discord obviously struggling from doubling over. He knew his back was broken, but he kept at it anyways.

All again and again, Rainbow swatted at Discord’s head, and Discord at her head and wings, as he thought that if he could get her unconscious, he could win this battle.

Finally though, Rainbow flew up into the air wobbling, her right wing drooping slightly downwards, and smacked herself right into Discord’s head. Discord fell down to the ground, a groan escaping from his mouth as he lost consciousness.

Coincidentally, at that exact same second, Fluttershy opened her door. She gave a yelp as she saw the state Rainbow Dash and Discord were in, and immediately ran over as Rainbow Dash also passed out, more from exhaustion instead of Discord's final hits.

Seeing she couldn’t help both ponies at once, she immediately called Twilight and Spike over to help bandage up her beloved friends.

“Wait WHAT happened?!?” Twilight asked on the other line.

“I don’t know! But they need help! Badly! I just need help!” Fluttershy sobbed into the phone.

“Okay, okay!” Twilight said, acknowledging the tone of Fluttershy’s voice. “I’ll be there in a flash!” (LOL Get it? Flash-no? Fine then.)

Twilight was telling the truth. Within a blink of the eye, she was there, first aid kit ready, but she almost dropped it when she saw the two bloody creatures.

“I-what...Rainbow?” Twilight was speechless for a moment, but stopped gawking as she saw Fluttershy carefully starting to bandage Discord. “Um, right! Let’s do this.” Twilight crouched down and set off to work.

This time when Discord woke up, he let an immediate moan/yelp as pain washed all over him. It was like a hundred knives were stabbing him, all in different places. His back ached even more, and his head was pulsing rapidly.

“Ugh,” Discord heard another voice sound from across the room, and he recognized it as Rainbow Dash’s. Discord let out a snarl.

“Oh! You two are awake! Thank goodness!” Fluttershy exclaimed as she leaped into the room.

Rainbow slowly stretched herself and sat up. “Ugh, my wing! ...and my head…” Rainbow Dash groaned.

“Says the one who decided to knock me hard on the head with your entire body…” Discord snarled and showed his sharp, canine teeth almost instinctively, as the cyan pegasus he felt was now on his enemies list.

He had a lot of ponies on that list now.

“Says the one who pinned me down and nearly cut off my wing!” Rainbow spat back.

“Guys! Stop fighting, the both of you! Now, if you would please, I need to tell you something important!" Fluttershy was almost to tears, her eyes watery and her voice high-pitched.

Silence was all that came in reply.

Fluttershy turned to Discord and Rainbow Dash, and cleared her throat. “From what I know, we are ALL going to the hospital, Discord, you'll be going to the hospital for your possible cracked skull, and now even more broken back." Discord suppresed a groan and looked in the opposite direction. "Plus," Fluttershy continued "your sides aren’t doing too good, either. You’ve practically exhausted yourself and your magic is definitely out of whack, from what Twilight said.” Fluttershy hesitated to look to Rainbow Dash. “And you, missy, are also going to the hospital for your wing to get it completely reattached. Your head has bumps on it, so I wouldn't be surprised if your skull was cracked, too. Your hooves are cut and are bleeding, but you’re actually lucky that you got no other injuries.” Fluttershy stepped back into the kitchen. “Now, while I make breakfast, you two be good and not kill each other,”

Rainbow and Discord only gave a grunt in response and each scowled in reply to Fluttershy's motherish tone.

After a few moments of complete, Rainbow finally broke the silence. "I guess I'll have to say it eventually” she murmured to herself and turned her head towards Discord.

“Discord?"

Discord gritted his teeth. "What?" he asked bitterly.

Rainbow Dash heaved an annoyed sigh and finally gave a small murmur.

"I'm sorry."

Discord's ear perked up, and he looked directly into Rainbow Dash's eyes as she continued. "I-I shouldn’t have teased you like that, with all that happened yesterday.” she admitted.

Taking a deep breath, Discord sighed. “Now I’m not one for sappy apologies, but I’ll have to say I’m sorry for...lunging at you, I probably should have just mentioned the time when you were almost denied from entering the Wonder Bolts,” Discord snickered, and Rainbow stiffened.

“Then I would probably have-Ugh, you know what? Even if we had done anything else instead, we would still be here, you know that?” Rainbow scoffed.

“Why of course! I mean I know you as an agg-” Discord suddenly yelped as a whooping pain came from his back, and he winced. After a few moments, he finally replied.

“You know what? We shouldn’t really be joking about this.” He looked over and saw Rainbow nodd, holding her head in her hooves.

“Okay, breakfast’s served!” Fluttershy came back into the room with sandwiches and ranch. Noticing the heat between the two was shriveled, she queried the two.

“So you finally made up?”

Both just nodded simultaneously.

Fluttershy looked upon their pained expressions. “Actually, let’s get you two to the hospital instead.”

Both nodded again, and Rainbow Dash stood up. Discord adjusted himself and nervously got himself up, half flying as he tried keep his back from arching back and forth as he walked.

“Wait, are you guys really thinking of walking there?” Fluttershy asked.

“Well, do we have any other choice? My wings are busted up-”

“Courtesy of me!” Discord smiled as he interrupted Rainbow Dash, a smudge of pride in his voice. Both pegasi glared at him and he fumbled. "And I, erm, can’t use my magic-” Discord was the one to be interrupted this time, by Rainbow Dash.

“Courtesy of me!” Rainbow said very proudly giving Discord a mischevious smile; Fluttershy shook her head and sighed.

After a few moments of getting themselves ready Fluttershy decided to face Discord. “Discord?” she asked him as Rainbow started on the path outside, pulling him to the side where the fast-flying pegasus couldn’t see him inside the house. “I don’t think you’re healthy enough to walk all the way over to the hospital. Rainbow too. You are just so-” Before Fluttershy could even finished her sentence Discord swatted her hooves away.

“Don’t you dare say it! I am not fragile, and I never will be!” He fought the urge to wince as his sudden movement hurt him, and he tried to half-fly half-stomp out the door. Fluttershy stopped him yet again.

“I know that you’re mad, but please just calm down! I just don’t want you to get hurt, Discord…” She said softly, but still easily audible. “because I love you…” she muttered.

Discord stiffened, then softened and turned back towards Fluttershy. “I know, and I love you too,” Discord looked down, and finally winced as he sat down on the couch. “I’m sorry, it’s just that-”

“You are stressed from all the recent activity and are getting frustrated. Don’t worry, I know how that feels.” Fluttershy told the draconeqqus. They locked eyes for a brief moment before Discord pulled away.

“You’re right, I shouldn't have lunged after Rainbow Dash after she called me fragile. I should’ve just payed attention to the most important thing I have,” Discord cooed, leaning in to kiss Fluttershy, wrapping his arms around her. “Which is you,” Before Fluttershy could ask about what he meant Discord leaned in and kissed her for a brief moment until he heard Rainbow's hooves as she peeked her head inside.

“Hello? You two coming out?” Rainbow asked from around the door.

“ Oh! Yeah, coming!” Fluttershy called, and she gave him one more loving glance before heading out the door, as his pains were momentarily forgotten.

“Oh Tia, what love makes you do!” He muttered before clumsily going out the door, the pain immediately returning when he saw his newly once again "friend" Rainbow Dash. Discord bared his teeth slightly; remembering that this was mostly all her fault.

Now he regretted his decision to apologize to her.

“So,” Fluttershy began. “What happened while I was gone?” She inquired.

Both strangely began laughing together.

“We nearly tore each other apart,” Discord said.

“Yeah, you almost ripped my wing off!” Rainbow voice was at that of a pitch bordering a shout.

“Yeah, and you nearly rammed my head off! Not to mention my back!” Discord shouted back.

“Oh goodness,” Fluttershy muttered as the two started yelling each other about who did who. Seeing this as a beginning to another fight, Fluttershy stepped between the two. “Calm down, each of you will have the chance when you tell me, in your own...perspective.

“Why not just hear what happened when you can see it?” Discord asked. He had forgotten that he couldn't currently do any spells for that moment, and he snapped his fingers. Dozens of orange milk glasses filled the air around them, and he quickly snapped his fingers again, luckily making the glasses disappear and taking them to the time of the fight, instead of turning the sky purple with cotton candy rainclouds drizzling milk on the town ponies.

“Oh my!” Fluttershy gasped as she saw the two fighting. Even Discord and Rainbow winced as they saw themselves angrily punch each other. They were brutal.

But that could change.

As they returned to the present time, Discord eyes flashed different colors, and he shook his head to clear them of their constant changing of bright colors. It reminded him of the way the mane six's eyes had swirled when he had first cast his corruption spell on them.

He was very dizzy, as his willy wonka magic made him momentarily blinded by the swaying land in front of him.

“Why is everyone spinning?” He dizzily asked as he swayed almost drunkenly.

“What do you mean, spinning?” Rainbow asked. She and Fluttershy were perfectly fine, thank goodness. Celestia knows what would've happened had his magic not worked correctly for that one spell.

“Hold on for a second there! I got a feeling I’m going to disappear in a moment!” Discord spun around, and both pegasi made some contact with him. Within a moment they were outside the hospital, where Discord finally plopped down onto the ground.

“Ugh!” He grunted as his back cracked and he let out a loud wince, both from his back and spinning head.

“Cool! You did something right for once!” Rainbow complimented/insulted.

“Why thank you, Rainbow Dash,” Discord grumbled as he carefully flew himself up. They slowly walked inside, and the nurse pony gasped.

“Oh my, you..er..ponies don’t look too good.” She pointed over at Rainbow and Discord, earning two annoyed rolls of the eyes.

“Yeah, we know,” Rainbow grumbled as she and Discord were led to a room, both slightly limping. Fluttershy followed them, telling the nurse pony that she was the one taking care of the odd pairing. The nurse, named Lytic Cycle, simply laughed.

“With these two on your hooves, I bet you’ll be begging me to let them stay here, from what I can tell.” Lytic Cycle betted.

When the doctors saw their eye catching state, they immediately gasped and took the surprised creatures to two small "separate" rooms.

“You might want to go home, darling, this will take a while. I can call you when you can see them.” Lytic Cycle advised, and led Fluttershy back towards the office.

“Okay,” Fluttershy shyly agreed. She gave Lytic Cycle her number, and left.

Discord groaned as he woke up yet again. His sides, for some reason unbeknownst to him, were aching more than ever, what did the doctor’s do to him? Tear them apart and then stitch them together again? He turned and noticed that Rainbow Dash was on the bed next to him, their two "rooms" being separated by a single, dull greeen curtain.

“You wonder what the in the world did they do to you too?" Rainbow guessed as she glanced towards Discord. "Well, it seems like they were just placing our bones where they should be." she took a moment until continueing "And you were right, you got hurt way more than I did, but not all that’s my fault.” Rainbow finished absent mindedly bouncing a ball on the wall in front of her.

Just then Fluttershy barged in. She gave Discord and Rainbow Dash a worried look as the doctor came in behind her. “Well, it’s good to see that you’re finally up, Discord.” He smiled.

Discord almost growled as one of his sometimes dreaded insticts started up again. He didn't really like that the doctor had cused him more pain then what he felt before. Instead, he frowned.

The doctor took a look at the cyan pegasus pony Rainbow Dash. "Well, it seems as if I'll be starting with you then."

"Wait, start what?" Rainbow asked nervously.

"Oh, don't worry, I'm just going to tell you where you got hurt" the doctor soothed and Rainbow slowly nodded, eyes still shimmering with anxiety. "Now, Miss Dash, it seems that your skull is cracked in several places, and your wing is nearly torn off. You won’t be flying for the next two months, if you’re lucky.” the doctor explained and shook his head in sympathy as Rainbow Dash gave a loud yelp.

“WHAT?!?” Rainbow was indeed as shocked as anypony could ever be, the news was simply horrifying for her.

“Hmm, yes, I am indeed sorry that you must have this horrible fate." the doctor gave a brief, sad nodd as he turned to the draconeqqus, who was currently supressing a smile at the thought of the pure irony in the situation. "Yes yes, anyways, Discord, let’s get on with you. First off you are one of the starngest cases I’ve ever seen, I’ve never seen anypony have a broken back, mashed insides, cracked skull, and still easily conscoius! Really, maybe it’s because you are a draconeqqus. Hmm,” the doctor looked at his clipboard again. “Oh, and you might not want to move your back too much. It’s broken in at least three places, we’ll have to do more tests to be sure.” He dully finished, and walked to the door of the room, muttering about how the mismatched patient's condition made no sense at all. Rainbow's of course had because she had been asleep for two days as the doctors mended her head. Same with that part on Discord.

“Ugh, can I go to sleep now?” Rainbow Dash asked as the doctor opened, the door. “There’s nothing better to do!"

"Yes, you can. Discord, I would do the same." the doctor replied.

"But I just woke up!" Discord whined, but by this time the doctor had already slammed the large oak door shut.

"Hehe, gotta listen to the doctor, Discord." Rainbow Dash sneered.

"Jerk," Discord muttered under his breath as he looked angrily at the door.

"Well, I gotta get some z's so Fluttershy, would ya mind?" Rainbow Dash extended a hoof towards the curtain as she laid back in her own comfy bed.

“Why, of course,” Fluttershy replied and did as she was told.

After Rainbow Dash had finally settled in bed, Fluttershy floated over by Discord, who, unsurprisingly, had to curl up his tail and back legs to fit snugly into the bed.

“So, how are you feeling?” the butter colored mare asked quietly.

“Not so good.” Discord said glumly. “My sides, back, and stomach don’t feel that great anymore. Neither does my head.” Discord let out a small moan, and tried to get himself comfortable. “I also feel quite a bit dizzy.”

“Anything I can do to help?” Fluttershy asked sweetly, but with much concern.

Discord looked at her slyly. “Nothing but a nice kiss, my dear,” he smile and the couple shared another loving kiss. Although this time Fluttershy didn't pull away. Instead she hugged him tight, like a child when they hang on to their mother in a big bear hug.

“I love you, Discord,” Fluttershy muttered quietly so Discord's "room mate" couldn’t hear.

“And I love you too, my dearest Fluttershy.” Discord whispered into the timid pegasus's ear.

After a few moments of silence, Discord fell asleep and Fluttershy exited the room.

A few weeks passed before Discord and Rainbow Dash were released from the PonyVille Hospital’s doors. Fluttershy and the others met them there, the others mostly coming just to see their beloved Dashie.

“Oh, Rainbow! Look at you!” Rarity dramatized as she hugged Rainbow Dash. “What did Discord do to you, darling?” she asked.

“I’m right here you know!” Discord huffed. “And as you should know, Dashie over here,” Discord pointed over to the cyan pegasus standing next to him. “Gave me a concussion, broke my back in two more places, and more.”

“Well you also gave me a concussion and almost tore off my wing!” Rainbow spat back at the draconeqqus, who just snorted angrily.

“Hey, let’s not get into fight again, okay?” Fluttershy stepped in between the two. “I’m pretty sure that you guys don’t want to endup in there again.”

“So what happened anyway, Fluttershy?” Spike asked, also standing into a pacifist role.

“Oh, well, I wasn’t there, but I did see it, and they, fought” Fluttershy tried to explain, but to the others it made exactly no sense whatsoever.

“Wait, how could you see the fight when you weren’t there?” Spike asked.

“Because Discord used a flashback spell,” Fluttershy answered softly.

“Yeah, and luckily didn’t tear that the world apart! Who knows what would've happened if his magicy stuff messed up!” Rainbow exclaimed.

“Ah don’t mean to be rude, but how can ya’ll even stand if ya’ll got some good darn concussions? Shouldn’t ya’ll still be in bed?” AppleJack asked dully.

“Nah, I'm too awesome for that! Anyways, they kept us locked up in there for two weeks!” Rainbow said.

“Oh, forgot ‘bout that.” AppleJack realized dumbly.

“Anyways, let’s get to my house for some tea, shall we?” Fluttershy reminded the group, and within a moment they were in front of Fluttershy’s house, thanks to both Discord and Twilight.

“Okay, everypony sit down while I prepare the some snacks.” Fluttershy instructed as she went inside her cottage.

“Ooh! Can I help Fluttershy? I have some delightful flavors we can try out.” Rarity asked.

“Ooh! Me too! I wanna help!” Pinkie cheered, and Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie went into the kitchen.

Discord just sat down on the couch, hands on his head. That spell, even though he could now use it easily, made him slightly weak and dizzy from not performing for over two weeks.

“Feeling dizzy, Discord?” Twilight beamed a friendly smile. “Don’t worry, that’s just because you’re out of practice.” The alicorn assured.

Discord nodded as he settled into a more comfortable position. His back still ached a lot, and he had to be careful. Thank goodness that draconequui had fast healing abilities, for he expected to take off his side and stomach bandages in a few days. “Mph, thank you,” he muttered.

Rainbow Dash also sat down. “Ugh, I can’t believe that I still won’t be able to fly for over a month!” She groaned.

“I know exactly how you feel there, Rainbow,” Twilight sympathized. AppleJack nodded.

“Hey Discord, on the other hoof, could ‘cha use that flashback spell? Ah know it's a kinda random question, but Ah really wanna see happened to you two.” AppleJack asked.

His sides starting to hurt slightly again, Discord decided to add some mischief into this before he had to literally leave the room to lay down and try to feel better. “Nope! Bananas are chocolate and blue!” and they immediately were teleported back to the time of Discord's and Rainbow's fight.

“Where are we!?!” Rarity asked frantically. This sudden change of surroundings scared her, and she desperately looked around for answers.

“In a mere memory, Rarity!” Discord rhymed. He put himself and Fluttershy back in the present, and gave her a kiss before the others snapped out of the spell.

“Hey, why did I have to see it all over again?!?” Rainbow Dash grumbled, annoyed.

“No reason,” Discord lied. Rainbow snorted.

“My my, that was quite a show of brutality!” Rarity gawked after a moment of silence.

“Yeah!” Spike and Pinkie Pie shrieked simultaneously.

“Ya’ll were looked about as red and blue as one of Berry Punch's Berry salads!” AppleJack commented.

Rainbow and Discord's faces reddened in embarrassment, and Rainbow smiled weakly.

“Yeah, I guess we were,” Rainbow chuckled awkwardly, rubbing the back of her neck.

“Aw man, why couldn’t you just have yelled instead? That would make it much easier to laugh about now." Pinkie frowned.

“Well, if we just yelled at each other we would just have been delaying the inevitable, dear Pinkie! But I wouldn’t be surprised if we had another one-on-one again.” Discord whispered into Pinkie’s ear, punching the air playfully. Pinkie regained her smile in full force and giggled.

"But why did you guys fight?” Twilight asked, looking at the two frienemies who wanted to scream their lungs out at each other at times, yet sat in the same room peacefully.

Discord and Rainbow quickly shrieked: “Because him/her is just plain annoying!” Anger showing in their eyes and voices, they stiffened and glared viciously at each other.

“Yet you can sit in the same room?” Twilight asked, a ya-sure look in her face.

“Only for...personal purposes,” Discord answered, deciding to not take a look at Fluttershy to spoil his answer.

“I’m tired, so I’m not up for it,” Rainbow answered in her own casual way.

“Okay then,” Twilight finished the discussion.

“Anyways, we should get back to the kitchen, the stove is still on!” Rarity exclaimed, and the ponies who had been in there last went back inside. A awkward silence passed, in which Discord teleported off with little notice.

“Okay, here comes the best-thing-you-have-ever-tasted train!” Pinkie exclaimed a minutes later, and Discord teleported back in. Not startled at all by his sudden appearance, Pinkie asked: “Woah, Discord! Where were you off to?” She asked as she handed him his plate.

“Screaming and yelling in a mad fit of madness, why?” Discord said, more calm now than before. He in truth had went to the Everfree and started shouting deep inside it. Why? Well it seemed that all the drama had taken him over and made him become cranky and stiff. Pinkie didn’t reply, she didn’t want to say that she could relate to that. Well, I shouldn’t say relate, but instead of yelling at somepony, she would be killing them, but not because of rage. You could say in just a matter of business, and this business only came up so rare, and the killing was only for criminals, mostly.

“Mmm! These cupcakes are delicious, you guys! What did you put in them?” Spike exclaimed, happily nomming on his treat.

“Lots and lots of love!” Rarity answered, and sat next to him. Their relationship had slightly deepened over the years, and both now knew that they had feelings for each other.

“Yeah, and tons of sugar!” Pinkie cheered, as she stood on her hind legs, a tray in one hoof and a cupcake in a another. The party pony was leaning slightly on an arm of a nearby couch.

Fluttershy settled herself next to Discord, a cupcake in hand. “So,” she began quietly, “What was it like in the hospital for two weeks?”

“Dreadful, absolutely dreadful!” Discord dramatically ranted. “Those ponies never know how to have fun!” he cried.

“Yeah, cause you took either their horns or wings for a full two hours!” Rainbow explained.

Discord huffed. “That was only by accident!”

Rainbow snorted. “Anyways, I had plenty of re-re-re-rereading to catch up on, so I had no problem!” she smirked as she saw Discord's reddening face. Daring Do was always awesome, no matter how many times you read it.

“That’s awesome, Dashie! Anyways, did you know that in 10 days, 17 hours, 5 minutes, and 25 seconds it’s going to be AppleJack’s BIRTHDAY?!?” Pinkie squealed, putting the tray down (the cupcake got eaten) and jumping up to hug her orange earth pony friend.

“Oh gosh, Ah almost forgot, thanks Pinkie.” AppleJack blushed in her seat as the pink pony hugged her tight.

“Really? Wow, it seems like only a few days ago we were celebrating your last birthday.” Fluttershy commented, excited for the country pony.

“What are you going to do for your birthday, AJ? Buck apple trees or have some fun? I gotta know.” Rainbow asked her friend slyly. Rainbow liked to tease the country pony. It was fun!

Discord, on the other hand, whispered into Fluttershy ear and teleported off. Within an instant he appeared in front of the Tree of Harmony. “Wait, what?” He asked, confused. "I’m supposed to be in the Everfree Forest! Why am I here?” He frowned.

“Discord, my my, have you grown ever since I last saw you!” Came a sweet, calm voice, and Staria appeared right before his eyes. In truth when she looked at him he did look much different. Ever since the events of opening the flower chest his long body had gotten a slight bit shorter, and his legs seemed bigger, more used to standing on all fours, and he could actually sit back without looking weird.

“S-Staria?!? How is this possible? How-” Discord stammered.

“Don’t worry, you are only seeing a mere apparition, my dear! But I must talk with you, and these past events…” Staria's hoof caressed Discord’s cheek gently like a mother that was caressing her child. Discord blushed at her soft touch which felt so real he almost couldn’t believe it. “You are fighting with yourself, Discord, why?” she asked softly, stepping back to look at him.

“Staria,” He took a deep breath. “I have been fighting with myself, -I-I just don’t know what to do…” His softer side began to show, his personality before the incident becoming clear. “Ever since I began to show my feelings for Fluttershy and my reforming, I have the feeling to just...become evil and chaotic again, a-and I want to unleash all that chaotic magic within me, rule the world! But I also want to just become my old self again...I have to admit I miss the old days when you were still alive, Staria.” Discord confessed all the stiffness inside him completely giving out.

“I know all that energy inside you is building up; I can see that you can’t hold it all in and you have to constantly do little things to keep it from going over control. So, that’s why I want you to take out all your chaotic energy on the tree.” Staria offered.

“And lose my powers! How could I! I would never-!”

“You wouldn’t lose your magic abilities, you would just not have the drive for chaos anymore, do you understand? You have done so much to help everypony else, something I haven’t seen you do since my death. You saved Princess Luna, and your dear friend Fluttershy! You are able to love somepony, something that you never did after that little “crush” you had on Celestia.” Staria winked, and Discord blushed.

“S-So? She had feelings for me too!” Discord began to protest like a little child, and reddened even more, which caused Staria to chuckle in amusement.

“Yes, that is true. But I just want you to decide. Are you willing to help us out?” the beautiful alicorn asked.

“Wait, us? What do you mean-?” Discord gasped as an apparition of Celestia appeared before him.

“Hello, Discord.” the multicolored alicorn greeted with a slightly red face; she had heard the conversation they had all along.

“Now do you see?” Staria asked.

“Yes,” Discord replied, and he sighed. “And I choose to do it." he paused and added: "Whatever you want me to do.”

“Good! Celestia, mind helping me?” Staria asked her eldest daughter, and a magical aura surrounded the draconeqqus. He was lifted into the air, and soon the brightly colored aura surrounded him no more. Even though he still kept to the air, defying gravity itself. The entire area flashed in an chaotic light, and Discord’s eyes became pure white. The Tree of Harmony glowed brightly as a beam of light struck and surrounded it, dissolving itself as it was sucked into the tree. Discord’s carving on the tree glowed, and soon he was lowered back to the ground. His eyes were closed and he lay for a moment before blinking and slowly getting up.

“Ugh, my head,” he groaned before sitting back on his back legs. “I didn’t expect that to hurt,” he mumbled.

“Apologies my dear, feel better?” Staria asked, looking down at him. Discord got up.

“Yes, it seems I don’t feel so...stressed now. I think I might’ve needed just that.” He looked towards the Tree if Harmony. “Wait, is that my...cutie mark?” He looked intently at the carving, finally acknowledging it.

“Yes, I guess it finally realized that you were one if it’s creators, after stepping into it in your “reformed” stage of mind. But I see now that you are fully cured of the darkness that was in you.” Staria said calmly, smiling back at the tree.

“Woah,” Discord mumbled before snapping back to the current situation. “Wait a second, how long have I been gone? Aren’t these ponies here going to notice that I no longer have the drive for chaos?” He questioned the two alicorns.

“By your sarcasm, I don’t think they will. But don't worry, you will still want to commit to a few pranks, just not anything necessarily...bad. On the other note, you haven’t been out long, Discord. In fact, you still have much time until the others begin to worry. Well, before mostly Fluttershy begins to worry.” Celestia guessed, but then added. “You should try improving your relationship with some of them more now that you've been distant from them these past two years.”

“I'll try, but I'm not making any promises, Tia!” Discord chuckled, and looked around. “Well, I guess I should be on my way then, thanks Staria, and you too Tia. Chao!” Discord teleported and the princesses soon dissolved into nothing once again. The draconeqqus found himself back at Fluttershy’s cottage all alone, and he greeted her with a kiss.

There was much to tell her about.

I am very happy with how this chapter came out! It seems like I am writing more and more every chapter! (Litteraly this is the longest chater by far, about 8-9 pages in google docs!) I hope you enjoy, like, and favorite!

Chapter 10: Birthday

Several months passed, and it was Fluttershy’s birthday. About two months prior to this day was Discord’s birthday, but since nopony came by to say hello, or actually happy birthday, the two only really hung out the entire day. Discord and Fluttershy were still dating, and Rainbow Dash was now back in the sky, flying better than ever. Pinkie Pie was currently preparing the best party for her now twenty year old pegasus friend. Discord and Fluttershy, on the other hoof, were now in their relationship for almost an entire year!

“Oh, I wish I could come," Discord began. "but I just have to attend to my responsibilities!” Discord leaned over his wife once more and kissed the shy mare on the head before continueing. “Happy Birthday, my dear! Arrivederci!” Discord teleported off, and not a moment later, Pinkie Pie burst in.

“HIYA! IT’S TIIIIIIIME!!!!!!” She shouted cheerfully, and Fluttershy’s animals ran into their little houses.

“Oh, my, Pinkie please don’t scream.” Fluttershy said. Pinkie gave an annoyed sigh.

“Yeah, yeah, you can tend to your little animals munchkins later! It’s time for you to come have FUN!” Pinkie said the last word dangerously, and that moment, although Fluttershy didn’t catch the craziness in the pony's voice, Pinkie’s eyes flashed. In that flash, she looked like herself from “Party of One” her pupils shrinking and going out in different directions. The moment ended, and soon Pinkie was practically dragging the poor worried sick pegasus out the door.

Meanwhile, Discord teleported himself right in front of the grand Princess Luna, startling the navy blue alicorn.

“Discord!” she gasped. "Why did you-"

“Hi there, Lu-Lu! Wazzap?” Discord intterupted her, imitating a cartoon annoying orange that they called Annoying Orange (AO). AO was a popular comic and they usually laughed at the ridiculous idea of AO actually being living and talking freely.

“You startled me! Sweet Celestia, don't do that!" Luna scolded the draconeqqus. "Erm, by the way, how’s the Tree of Harmony doing?” Lu-Lu asked, suddenly changing subject.

“It’s fine!” Discord rolled his eyes in annoyance at Luna's constant questioning.

“Are you sure you no longer have chaos drive?” Luna asked for the probably billionth time. The now official ruling princess was still suspicious, but after he had showed her with one of his spells, Luna felt that Staria must have been telling the truth. They are some of the purest angels that ever lived, right?

“Seriously! No longer do I have any sort of dive for chaos! Maybe I just want to do a few pranks, but not chaos! I mean, if past me heard present me right now I would be laughing my head off! Present me still can’t really get used to saying that, you should know!” Discord shouted in explanation for the trillionth time.

“Very well, very well!” Luna huffed. “The senators from Saddle Arabia will be here in an hour. Get yourself dressed, if you please.” Luna commanded and shook her hoof dismissively.

“Oh, wait up sister! I am not going to be treated like some little peasant! I am-” Discord began, but was interrupted by Luna.

“The Lord of Chaos? Hah, not anymore!” Luna chuckled, and the draconeqqus fumed.

Just when he was going to yell at Luna, Discord suddenly dropped to the ground. Luna had cast a spell that literally made his legs give out! He let out a huff, and got back up. Luna was found laughing her head off.

“How dare you!” He growled, his entire body heating up in rage at the princess's antics.

“Hahahahahahahahahehehehehhehho oh Celestia! That was too funny!” She laughed, snorting every few seconds.

“Ugh, just forget it. What do you want me to do again?” Discord hissedthrough gritted teeth.

Luna straightened. “The senator’s remember?”

Discord just groaned. “Yeah, yeah, I’ll get to it.”

“Good,” Luna smiled as Discord teleported off. “It feels great to be in charge.”

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLUTTERSHY!” Dozens of ponies screamed, startling the poor birthday pony, Fluttershy.

“EEP!” Fluttershy ducked down in fright. Looking up shakily, she noticed everypony's awkward stares and brushed herself off, clearly embarrassed at her actions. “Oh, um...t-tthank you!” The yellow pegasus blushed as she slowly stood up, only to be pushed down again as Pinkie Pie patted her on the head.

“Aw, it’s okay Fluttershy! Everypony get spooked once in a while! It’s natural!” Pinkie assured. “Now let’s PARTAY!!” She yelled and the crowd gave a cheer in response.

Within moments, the crowd separated, and gave Fluttershy their best wishes. The crowd began to dance, and all of Fluttershy’s friends gathered around for a hug.

Well, most of them.

“Happy birthday Fluttershy! Ah hope you get the best of yer wishes to come true!” AppleJack cheered.

“Mmm-Hmm!” The others cheered.

“Aw, thank you! I couldn’t ask for better friends.” Fluttershy smiled.

“Speaking of your friends, why isn’t Discord here?” Twilight asked. “I mean, I was able to come here, but mostly because Luna said she got the senators from Saddle Arabia covered.”

“Discord mentioned having royal duties, something about Luna needing him.” Fluttershy answered.

“Wait! Does that mean Discord is going to a conference with the senators?!? Not on my watch!” Twilight gasped, and within a second she was at the door. “I’ll have to catch up later Fluttershy, but right now I have serious matters to attend to!” Twilight flew out the doorway, and out of sight in ten seconds flat.

“Golly, it really seems like Twi sure don’t trust Discord yet with their ‘royal duties’, Ah mean, Ah ain’t got nothin’ as to why she don’t. That's her business. But he sure does seem a bit changed, which on my take, is pretty darn good.” AppleJack commented.

“Yeah, ever since our get together a few months before AJ’s birthday he has been, er, different, even I have to admit that.” Rainbow agreed.

“I bet it’s just the fact that he’s getting more used to pony kind.” Fluttershy suggested, and that statement quieted them. “In fact, he's nicer now, isn't he?"

“Yeah, I’ll have to agree with you on that one, Fluttershy!” Spike said, sipping on some punch.

“Psh, yea, but anyways, shouldn't we get ahead and get our party on?!?” Pinkie asked, being as enthusiastic as always. Not being able to resist her invitation, the other five ponies and dragon joined her in a fun game of pin-the-tail-on-the-pony.

After a long day of partying, Fluttershy finally went home. She and Twilight had just been going over what happened after her important conference, and the purplest of purple alicorn warned that Discord was most likely to pop in any moment. Fluttershy thanked her, but then warned her to be careful herself. Discord could be pretty unpredictable sometimes. And random.

Discord, meanwhile, was enraged. Why did Luna and Twilight treat him so rudely? He felt mistreated and abused for seemingly no good reason. ‘Maybe this is how ponies thought when I and Dark Age took over?’ He thought to himself. But after moments of discussing throughout his head, Discord shook it off. "I’ll just tell Fluttershy about it,” He mind-spoke.

(Mind speaking is when you speak in your mind, if you were wondering!)

Then he remembered.

‘Ah yes, the ring! I am hoping to propose tonight!’ He beaned took out a pink velvet box with the ring in it. He looked at it for a moment, crashed into a nearby tree because he was currently flying home at the time, then teleported off to his destination.

“Eek!” Fluttershy squeaked as Discord appeared before her.

“Why hello, m'dear! How was the party?” Discord asked, much excitement in his voice.

“Fine, thank you.” Fluttershy pecked Discord on the cheek. “How were the senators? Did Twilight stop you from talking to them?” Fluttershy asked, settling herself in a chair.

“Yes, pesky Twilight Sparkled did stop me! Not just that, Luna bossed me around and laughed at me! I was about to yell at her when she used her magic to make my legs just literally give out! Seriously! She can be such a jerk sometimes!” Discord huffed. “Can you believe that?”

“Well, she is now in charge. I see how you feel, though. Sometimes having a laugh can be fun, but not when ponies are laughing about you.” Fluttershy sympathised.

“Yeah, I suppose.” Discord muttered. “But Fluttershy, dear, there’s something I...need to tell you.”

Noticing the amount of importance in the draconequus’ voice, Fluttershy stood up. “Yes, Discord?” she asked, ready for anything he could throw at her.

Excepting this.

“Discord-” Fluttershy began, but then gasped.

Discord plopped onto one knee, and a pink velvet box appeared in his hands. He opened it to reveal a dazzling hoof ring, with stunning turquoise gems shaped like small hexagons. The ring itself was pure gold, with some pink tints and highlights to give it a more “Fluttershy” feel. This was meant for her and her only, and Discord wanted Fluttershy to know it. All his love poured out of him as he said those next few words in such a sincere voice it was hard to believe that this was the Lord of Chaos, the villainous ruler of Equestria more than a thousand years ago

“Fluttershy,” Discord began. “Will you marry me?” He gulped, anxiety pushing at him in every way for Fluttershy's answer.

“Discord, I-we-yes!” Fluttershy jumped on him and hugged him tight. “Yes! Yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!” She cheered like filly Twilight when she got invited to be Celestia’s student and her Magic Kindergarten. Discord hugged the excited mare back tight, and they kissed, as most couples do when the man proposes to the girl.

“And actually, I have a ring for you. My animal friends helped me make it, especially Angel.” Fluttershy took out a dazzling ring that looked exactly like the one Discord gave her, but with different colors. Instead, the gems were a bright red with soothing grey tints and highlights.

“Huh, we must’ve been thinking the same thing!” He took the ring and inspected it. “But it’s beautiful. thank you, dearest Fluttershy.” Discord flashed Fluttershy a smile and they kissed again. They truly did love each other.

As they squeezed each other tight, a sudden thought came to Discord’s mind. “Now that we’re engaged, we’ll have to tell them, won’t we?” Discord implied about the others.

Fluttershy flew a step back to look at Discord in the eye. “Of course we would, and Luna too, aaaand I guess we’ll just have to explain it to them. But that doesn’t matter right now.” Fluttershy caressed Discord’s cheek for a moment and smiled. “What’s important is that we now have each other, and now I won’t let anything stop me from loving you, Discord.” she said, her voice calm and sincere.

Discord grinned. “Me too, dearest, me too.” With that, the couple went on upstairs to go on to bed, for it was horribly late and they both had quite a busy day.

No pony could prepare them for the reactions and actions that were coming for the two for the sunrise indicating the next day.

Chapter 11: Truly Unexpected

Fluttershy was tending to her garden when Rainbow Dash was flying by. Up in the sky, Rainbow Dash did loop de loops, fantastical turns, and the double inside out loop, which was a new trick she just learned. After a few moments, Rainbow Dash flew down to PonyVille for a bit to rest. This was when Discord decided to give his fiancee a “surprise” by pouncing on her, and thus make both he and Fluttershy go into a silly barrel roll.

“Three…” Discord counted from a tree nearby. “Two...One!” Discord leapt out of the big oak tree. “HELLLOOOOOOO!” He called.

“EEK!” Fluttershy yelped and looked up, just when Discord crashed into her and they, as he planned, did a few barrel rolls before stopping. Unfortunately, Discord banged his head on the ground while doing so, and he held his head.

“Man, I thought that would go better, seems like I was wrong,” Discord said glumly. Fluttershy giggled, and soon the couple were in a fit of giggles and laughter.

That was when trouble was brewed. Rainbow Dash by this time was once again in the skies, flying peacefully over Fluttershy’s cottage. This time when she looked down she gave a gasp. Discord had surprised his fiancee by giving her a kiss, leaving Fluttershy with her eyes widened, giving the implication that he had suddenly kissed her, unexpectedly! ‘Sicko!' Rainbow thought. ‘Wait till I get my hooves on you!’ The high flying pegasus was almost steaming with anger. NO PONY harrases her friends!

“Just wait until I tell the others!” Rainbow actually growled and flew off, going so fast that a bright rainbow trailed off behind her.

“Oh Discord, sweetheart, are you okay?” Fluttershy asked as Discord sat back, one arm clutching his head. He could swear that there must’ve been some sort of metal on the ground, probably hidden by some evil gerbils.

Suddenly, Discord passed out, but Fluttershy didn’t panic. Discord had been working hard lately, with all the lesser-major (if that makes sense) havoc still going on and about without Celestia. Twilight was raising the sun, Luna the moon, with Discord helping along by being required to cast high level spells, which he could only perform because of his granted wisdom in magic. If you took all his supposed sarcasm away, you could say that Discord could be quite a potential teacher in magic. Discord, bringing it back to the present, just needed to rest.

“Hmm, now I’m not sure if he could just sleep out here, so, uh, actually could you guys lift him up and under that big tree?” Fluttershy asked her big, small, and fat animal friends, and the fuzzy things did so. They lifted up the still growing and aging draconeqqus, and heaved him under the big oak tree in front of her house where he had first sprung up and into Fluttershy. “Good. Have sweet dreams, Discord.” Fluttershy gave Discord a sweet kiss on the forehead and went inside her cottage, oblivious of the danger to come.

“Oh Celestia, what happened this time…” Discord muttered as he returned to consciousness a few moments after Fluttershy went inside. He was used to waking up somewhere, remembering what happened a few moments later, and then actually feeling what happened. He was also used to waking up with something utterly wrong, or something just painful. But this time there was no pain, no evil things (like Rainbow Dash), but just a mere bruise on head.

"Huh, looks like I’m in front of Fluttershy’s house...hmm yes, now I rememb-”

“Put ‘em up, Discord!” A shriek was suddenly sounded, and Discord jumped. Before him stood Rainbow Dash, the owner of the sudden exclamation, Pinkie Pie, AppleJack, Rarity, Spike and even Princess Twilight!

“Yeah!” Came a rather cheery sounding voice, obviously from Pinkie Pie.

“From what Ah hear, you been kissin’ Fluttershy! And no pony, Ah repeat no pony harrasses mah friends like that!” AppleJack hissed.

“You just crossed the line this time, Discord,” Twilight muttered.

“And you’re going to pay!” Rainbow Dash lunged at Discord, and Discord tried to teleport when Rainbow Dash’s hoof came in onto his head. Fortunately, Discord didn’t pass out, but he could definitely not teleport now.

“Ouch! Little brat!” Discord hissed as he held his head. “Why did you have to do that-!?!” Discord’s eyes widened as AppleJack tried a sucker punch at his gut, and he shut his eyes as her hoof came into impact.

“That’s what you deserved Dis-!” AppleJack was interrupted by a frantic, high pitched yelp.

“No! Please, stop! Don’t hurt him!” Fluttershy screamed. She flew out of her house and in front of Discord protectively.

“But he kissed you!” Rainbow spat out, looking at Discord, who was now doubled over, with pure disgust.

“Yeah, and-!” Pinkie started, but Fluttershy cut her off with another shriek, this time as a confession.

“That'sbecausewe'regettingmarried!” Fluttershy shouted those words almost as fast as Pinkie could twitchy-twitch her tail.

There was silence.

Fluttershy looked towards the her PFF's. After a few moments she finally succumbed to it. “Yes, it’s true. Discord...he proposed to me yesterday, and, uh, well, I said...yes.” Fluttershy's voice came out in a squeak when she finally ended that sentence. “C-Cause...you know...um, ever since that day with Dark Age and the Timberwolves we have been dating…” She finished her explanation, Fluttershy's mutter barely loud enough for everypony to hear.

"T-That, sugarcube...is the craziest thing Ah have ever heard.” AppleJack finally breathed.

The others slowly nodded.

“So, for eleven months you've been dating, eleven.” Twilight had no clue how she couldn't have realized this before, Fluttershy and Discord had been dating for almost a year under their noses!

"Um, yes?" Fluttershy looked meekly down to her fiance, unsure of what to do. Discord, while not have really enjoyed the suckerpunch of AppleJack's, felt the pain numb and instead felt his stomach twist nervously.

"H-How could you, Flutters?" Rainbow changed her stare of looking into space to that of a glare directed at Fluttershy. "I thought we were so close by now, how could you not have told us?"

Fluttershy felt like running back inside from the harsh glares of the ponies surrounding her. "B-Because...."

"Because we weren't sure how you would all react to this, and we felt that it was going to be for the worst if we told you, especially with what happened with me and Rainbow Dash serveral months ago. We would have told you all sooner if you all maybe you guys treated me a bit better." Discord's voice stood firm behind Fluttershy as he defended his soon to be bride. "If that makes any sense." the draconeqqus finally added.

"Yea, um, what he said." Fluttershy squeaked.

"You mean that if me and you hadn't fought, and we just treated you a bit better and not have jumped to conclusions you could have told us this months ago?!?" Rainbow realized, the thoughts sinking in.

"Exactly," Came Discord's nonchalant reply.

There was another moment of silence.

"Then A-Ah'm so sorry, ya'll. Ah mean, we here shouldn't have...ya'll didn't trust us because of...of..." AppleJack stammered, at a loss for words in the awkward situation.

"US?!?" Pinkie Pie suddenly gasped. "REALLY?!?" The pink pony's shout had a "are you kidding me?" tone.

Discord chuckled, and Fluttershy softened with her friend's tone. "Yes, that's about right." Discord leaned back, the knot in his stomach having completely dissappeared.

"ButwhataboutthattimewhenwewereallhappyaboutbeingtogetherwhenwefoundoutwhatkilledPrincessCelestiaandthenthethingafteryouandDashierecoveredwithFluttershy'sbirthdayandaboutusbeingsadthatyouwerenotthereand-" Pinkie spoke a mile a minute, until finally Twilight clamped her hoof over the hyper pony's mouth.

"What she means is, even after we succesfully destroyed that flower and after you and Rainbow forgave each other you were still unsure about telling us?" Twilight translated.

"Um, yes?" Fluttershy said as inocently as she could manage.

"But Fluttershy, dear! What made you think that we wouldn't understand?" Rarity finally spoke, lifting out her hoof and pulling herself towards Fluttershy, bringing herself right in front of the yellow pegasus.

"Well," Discord brought himself to stand on all fours and slowly wrapped an arm around his fiancee's shoulder. "By how you just all almost pounded me into the dirt, how did you think that we would think you would understand?"

"Oh, um, right." Rairty slinked back in partial shame and embarrassment. It was clear that they had all jumped to conclusions this time.

"So...can you guys now tell us what the hay happened inbetween you guys?" Spike finally asked what everypony besides the to be married couple was thinking at that time, to the other's relief. Eventually, somepony had to do it.

"Sure," Fluttershy beamed, looking over to Discord, who looked right back at her. "Come inside, and we'll tell you all about it.

It was three in the afternoon, and the six ponies, dragon, and draconeqqus were all inside the cozy cottage. Fluttershy and Discord had just finished telling them their romantical story, and now all were left to contemplate the events, which, luckily, all had understood.

"Oh my, look at the time!" Twilight looked outside as she saw the sun residing in the west side of the sky.. "That story sure did take a while, but it was good, nonetheless."

"Oh yes, it feels so much better now that I don't have to keep that secret from you guys anymore. While it's a bit hard to keep it from everypony else, it's good to know that now I have less ponies to worry about." Fluttershy agreed, a small blush showing pink in her pastel cheeks.

"Yea, and now we can have have a totally private congratulations-about-going-to-get-married-soon party!" Pinkie Pie smiled, but to her dismay, Discord let out a small chuckle as he shook his head.

"No, Pinkie, I think that would definatley break our cover," Discord closed his eyes as he imagined the funny scene.

"Aw, really?" Pinkie frowned.

"Yes, really." Discord confirmed.

"Well then, do ya think you could just eat these cupcakes then?" Pinkie asked, bringing a tray fulled to the brim with cupcakes out of nowhere.

"Pinkie!" Rarity yelped. "Where in Celestia sake did you get that?" she pointed at the cupcakes.

"I baked it, duh!" Pinkie dead-panned. Wasn't it obvious?

"Wha-Nevermind." Rarity dismissed the thought, and instead grabbed a cupcake. The rest of the group did the same.

"Mmm, these are good." Rainbow Dash spoke, her mouth bulging with the delectable treat.

"Rainbow, learn to eat with your mouth closed!" Twilight scolded the slightly younger mare.

"What?" Rainbow asked as she gulped the cupcake down.

"Ugh," Twilight facehoofed. "Just-nevermind."

"Okay then," Rainbow shrugged as she reached out for another cupcake. Fluttershy giggled.

"So then," Spike began. "Who do ya think is going to be your, I don't know, best man?" Spike asked, looking at his fingers smugly, as if looking them over.

"Oh, definatley you, Spike," Fluttershy giggled once more; Discord smiled and nodded.

"Yea, and who do ya think is going to be your best mare?" Rainbow Dash asked, the question almost sounding like she was asking for a challenge.

"Uh..." Discord didn't know what to say there for a moment as sudden giggles and snorts could be heard from the surrounding ponies at the thought of Rainbow being rejected. "I think we'll have to,er, decide upon that one."

"What?" Rianbow looked like she was going to be in tears. "I t-thought I-"

"Oh, nononnononono! Don't think of it like that, it's just-" Fluttershy tried stop her friend from feeling sad, she hated doing something like that when she heard Rainbow's voice ring in her ears.

"Gotcha." A sly grin was upon the daredevil's face, and Fluttershy's face went numb.

"What?" Fluttershy asked confusedly as Rainbow Dash began laughing at her priceless expression.

"I said, 'Gotcha!' Do you seriously think that after what's happened, I'd really think that I would be the best mare? No way!" Rainbow repeated, smiling.

Discord actually let out a slightly audible sigh of relief.

Thank Celestia that THAT wasn't going to happen...

"Speakin' o' that, who do ya'll think are gonna be your best mares?" AppleJack asked, her attention focused back on Fluttershy and Discord.

"Well, in the short time that we've had to talk about it, we've decided that all of you will be our best mares, in this order, actually: Pinkie Pie, AppleJack, Rarity and Rainbow Dash, with Twilight in the front as our maid of honor.

"Me?!?" gasped Twilight. "Are you sure?"

"We're pretty sure." Fluttershy nodded. "After all, you've been the one that's always trying to be nice and not hurt anypony's feelings whenever anypony gets into fights, so, yeah."

"Wow, that's an honor! Thank you!" Twilight put a sincere hoof to her heart as a sign of thanks; she was completely caught of guard.

"Three cheers for Twilight! Woo! Woo! Woo!" Pinkie hoof pumped, bringing smiles to everypony's faces.

"And," Fluttershy began as Pinkie settled down. "We've decided that Rairty will be the one that-"

"Makes the dresses?" Rarity finsihed for her PFF. "Why, of course, dear! I would love to!"

"That's good!" Fluttershy smiled. "Otherwise, that's all we got down so far!"

"Awesome! Can I go home now?" Rainbow dead-panned as her eyes drooped. Her face looked so hillarious, her tone so strangely funny, that everypony burst into laughter.

Everything was just right.

Or so they thought.

Chapter 12: Tirek's Return

It was decided that Twilight would be spending the rest of the day over at Fluttershy's since she and Fluttershy hadn't ever really been having enough time together since Twilight had to take on her new duties of raising the sun. The two girls had gone outside to say goodbye as everypony went back home, and were currently walking backk to the cottage from the place they had been standing a few feet ahead.

Once they entered, though, they were greeted by Discord, who gritted his teeth and had clenched his eyes shut. Little sparks of energy was sparking around his antlers, and his arms were holding his head tight.

“Discord! What’s happening?” Fluttershy rushed over to her fiance’s side. The sparks were coming more often now, and Discord was suddenly even more tense.

“Woah, what’s going on? I’ve never seen this happen before!” Twilight asked, alarmed.

Suddenly Discord’s eyes shut wide open, but they glowed with light. His pupils could not be seen, and an entire aray of sparks accompanied his horns. His wings opened involuntarily. This lasted for a few seconds before he fell limp, barely breathing.

“Discord!” Fluttershy cried. Suddenly the two conscious ponies could hear a deep throated laugh and a small whisper ring through their ears.

“Thank you for letting me use you again, Discord,” It said, and Twilight immediately recognized the voice.

“Tirek! Show yourself!” She screamed into the nothingness. Twilight stomped her hoof threatenlingly on the ground, but Tirek seemed to have left. “So this is why Discord can’t perform the spell anymore! Because Tirek sucked all his magic out!” Twilight paced around the room.

“Really? Cause Discord’s not waking up…!” Fluttershy looked nervously towards Discord, his stomach slowly rattling up and down as a sign of breathing.

Twilight approached the two, looking down. Suddenly the voice returned.

“Hahahaha...seems like I have found something else that I can feed on...energy…” Tirek laughed. “I’ll be more powerful than ever now, don’t worry...You won’t be able to stop me now…”

Twilight was furious, but scared at the same time. “You-you killed him?!?” She asked, lazer ready.

Tirek laughed. “Oh no, but he is barely alive, and so are the others I feasted on. You better start running, little pony…”

Fluttershy and Twilight heeded the warning. Using her magic, Twilight teleported herself and Fluttershy over to the doors before the throne room, as she was sure Discord wouldn’t be able to himself get up and ready for what was about to come.

“Princess Luna!” Twilight said as she barged in the large doors, Fluttershy in tow.

“Twilight! What are you doing here?” Cadence asked, as she had been having a conversation with Luna about their two kingdoms at the moment.

“Tirek is back!” Twilight gasped. “And-”

“And he’s practically killing everypony, including Discord!” Fluttershy sobbed.

“What? Where is he?” Luna asked, thunderstruck at the news.

“He’s at Fluttershy’s house, why?” Twilight asked, slightly confused at the Princess's abrupt question.

“Bring him here. He’ll be safer that way.” Luna commanded, and Twilight summoned Discord to the room. Now awake, he propped himself up as best as he could, and Fluttershy flew over to Discord and hugged him tight. Discord opened his eyes, which because Tirek had taken not only magic but also most of his life energy, were a soft shade of red.

“Why hello,” Discord said weakly, and he struggled to sit up. Fluttershy helped him, and he leaned back on the wall, a scowl across his face.

“Discord,” Fluttershy noticed his scowl and looked up. “What’s wrong?”

Discord took a heavy breath. “Tirek...he used me, again! Ugh, how could I let this happen?” Discord balled up his loin fist.

“What do you mean, Discord?” Cadence asked. She was well aware of his last betrayal, but she couldn’t get how he was doing that now.

“I-I could cast the protection spell, and I had it on everypony but me…” Discord explained. “I never knew he would come back...and he chose me. And I know he did because of my magical abilities…” Discord was ashamed of his stupidity. “I should have known, and this is all my fault. I hate to admit it, but I feel...guilty and responsible for his return…”

“Discord-” Twilight began to protest.

“He’s right, he is responsible for my return!” Laughed Tirek as he materialized in front of them, in his last stage of growth.

“Tirek!” Luna and Twilight growled.

Tirek took a few steps towards them, shaking the ground as he did so. “Remember when I said run, little ponies? Well it’s about time…” He gave them a huge, evil smile.

The ponies and draconeqqus got up, Discord on all fours and taking and obviously the longest. Once standing, all slowly backed away in fear.

“RUN!!!” Triek screamed, and the ponies did so. They ran for their lives, throughout the halls, panting all the way. After a few moments, they reached one hall with several doors.

“In here!” Twilight yelled, and the ponies and draconeqqus all ran inside. But before Discord went inside, he swiftly pushed the door leading to the next hall so it gave the impression that they had gone through. Discord ran back into the room, and collapsed on the floor panting and breathing hard, accompanying everypony else that was doing so. Fluttershy eventually calmed herself down accompanied him while looking at the others who were still having difficulty. Since they were so rudely interrupted, and their bodies were still not caught up with their minds, the two princesses (Luna and Cadence) took the longest to calm themselves down and channel their breath steadily.

“Everypony, be quiet!” Twilight half whispered when she heard Tirek's distant hooves come closer and closer to where the group was hiding.

Fortunately, the door was still swinging when Tirek barged in, and he grinned. “Run, little ponies, but you can’t hide!” With every step he took, all of them shuddered.

“Keep quiet!” Twilight mouthed to all of them. But it was hard when Discord shook almost-violently whenever Tirek took a step; the energy sucking was actually quite a good weight looser for anypony obese.

After a few moments, Tirek went far enough that they could talk.

“Woah, that was close, but he’ll be back soon. Let’s get the rest of my friends here, and maybe then we can think of a plan.” Twilight said and within a second, AJ, Rainbow, Pinkie, Spike and Rarity appeared.

“Twilight!” Spike gasped as he hugged his closest friend tightly. The rest did the same, to both Twilight and Fluttershy, who had left Discord for a moment to rejoice.

“Thanks, but we need to keep quiet, Tirek could be back any minute, he’s been growing rapidly.” Twilight finally shooed off her friends.

“Darn tootin’! He practically killed everypony in Ponyville! We were lucky to get away!” AppleJack was almost in tears, her tone bitter and scared; seeing the scene had scarred her for life.

“Yeah!” Pinkie, Spike, and Rainbow agreed simultaneously.

“Er, but Twilight dear, do you know exactly how this happened? I mean, I think the source is where we need to attack, and maybe if we destroy it Tirek will be locked back in Tartarus forever!” Rarity asked.

“No! Don’t you dare touch him!” Fluttershy suddenly shrieked, flying in front of Discord, who leaned back against the purple wall, looking down.

“Whoah Fluttershy! Calm down!” Rainbow tried to soothe the yellow pegasus, but the butter colored pegasus only shook her head fiercely.

Twilight sighed. “Fluttershy’s acting this way because Discord is the source. T-Tirek’s been feeding off his magic and energy, which is what caused him to get so weak, guys."

“And even though I was helpless, I could have protected myself from him…” Discord looked into space as he spoke. “I could have cast it on myself, easily! Yet I didn’t...I’m...sorry…”

Everypony was thunderstruck at his statement. Discord’s voice was pure, and trustworthy all the way. But they knew that this wasn’t his fault, fate had it this way. (Stupid fate! XD)

“Discord, you couldn’t have done anything else, don’t go so hard on yourself,” Cadence put a gentle hoof on his shoulder. “We all know that it’ll turn out okay in the end, don’t we?” She looked back at the other two remaining princesses stand with the others, and they all nodded.

“I know what you feel, Discord, I almost couldn’t forgive myself after the incidents of Nightmare Moon. Or at least until a few certain ponies taught me the very needed lessons of friendship.” Luna sympathised. She smiled.

“Yeah, I’ve gotta agree, I might have had a few moments that I could take back…” Rainbow Dash admitted. A few ponies laughed.

“A few?” AppleJack teased, and Discord suddenly felt strangely more revived. He looked down at his hands for a moment and thought. When the laughter died and the attention returned to him, he looked up. A shimming gleam of a rainbow played across his eyes, and the pure red colored ireses returned to their natural glow.

“I know how to bring back pony kind and defeat Tirek…” Discord said, and he began to explain his plan to take back Equestria.

Chapter 13: The Plan

The plan was to show friendship and tolerance to the ponies of equestria, thus returning their energy in a new way. If they all worked together, they might be able to stop Tirek. Tirek might be powerful, but he wasn’t invincible. There was still the magic of friendship.

“I’d hate to admit it, but that’s genius!” Rainbow cheered. “I mean, why didn’t I think of that?!?” she asked herself, trying to act cool after the sappy statement.

“Cause I am a genius, it’s a part of me!” Discord exclaimed, and he pointed to his lion paw, and antler horns. Rainbow just rolled her eyes.

“So, shouldn’t we get going?” Spike asked, ready to go.

Just then the room shuddered and shook. The ponies immediately quieted down, and they heard Tirek yell in frustration.

“ARGH, WHERE ARE YOU?!?” Tirek screamed as he came back to the hall. A thought popped up in his mind, and he smiled. His voice now soft and calm, he called. “Fine then, if I can't see you, I’ll just hear your screams…”

Discord tensed up as the pain came all back to him. He felt like tons of weight was being put on him, and he slowly slid down the wall, and he struggled to keep even his eyes open. He felt like the need to scream, but if he did, then everypony would be discovered. He hated this.

Twilight noticed the sparks of energy yet again playing around Discord’s antlers. She poked Luna, and pointed off towards the draconeqqus. Cadence also took notice and the three alicorns softly flew over to Discord and the Fluttershy, who was on the brink of freaking out. Each of their horns glowed and Discord was surrounded by a bubble which turned invisible within a second.

This was the spell Discord had used on Equestria, but since this was a very difficult spell, the three could only cast this spell on a few ponies at a time. Discord felt slightly relieved as no more energy was lost, but Tirek was furious.

“WHAT? HOW COULD THIS BE?!? I’LL KILL YOU ALL FOR THIS!” Tirek screamed, and Discord slightly winced and shrank back in fear. He looked towards everypony else, which all were looking at him with worried faces. Discord, immediately sensing the loving energy around him, began to feel better, and he slid himself back up again. This wasn’t what a changeling would do, for they fed off the love and friendship of others and made them weak. This surrounding energy made all ponies feel better, but mostly him because he needed it most. Right now, the feelings between everypony was mutual. Discord smiled.

Friendship, love, and tolerance was the cure to sadness, weakness, and anger.

Meanwhile, Tirek was still trying to figure out how to exactly catch these simple ponies. He was outraged with their ability to stop him from feeding, how could they? Tirek was at his breaking point, when the most obvious answer came to him:

He could just break the doors, or if he must the entire castle. Soon enough he started break every door into the hall.

“Quick, everypony join hooves, we’ve gotta teleport outta here!” Twilight exclaimed, and everypony got up and did so. Rarity, Luna, Cadence, and Twilight’s horn started to glow. The exact second Tirek barged in the gang all teleported.

“STUPID PONIES!” Tirek screamed.

The next second the group all found themselves in the town square of Ponyville. They all gasped. For miles on all their were was near-death ponies. Their stomachs slowly rattled up and down just like Discord’s had only hour ago.

It was time to put this plan to work.

“Ah told ‘cha…” AppleJack murmured to herself, the scene bringing tears to her eyes.

“Well, let’s get on to it then, come on everypony!” Twilight ran off towards the nearest pony. The others did the same. Discord simply stood there a moment before setting off. Within a minute he reached a young grey pegasus with yellow crossed eyes. “Um,” he began, not sure to say for a moment. Finally he sighed. He would just have to try his best. (Going to indent to the next paragraph for better readability)

“If you can see me, if you can hear me,” Discord finally began. “I want you to know, that I...hope you feel better.” He laid down to come into eye contact with the pony. “You may be frightened right now, but I just need to remind you, have hope and everything will be better." Discord looked again at the pony's crossed eyes. "From what I could tell, nopony has been treated you well, haven’t they?” Discord looked at her eyes.

The pony just nodded.

“Well, I know the feeling, as I used to be resented among you pony folk, but I promise, everything will get better, and that you’re friends will be there, always. A-And...I will be one of them. I know you as the royal mailmare, yes? And I know that you worked hard to get there, beside what everypony thought, yes?”

Derpy, the grey pegasus, felt slightly warmer, better and raised her head.

“You were the pony who has probably inspired others, you know that right? I bet they didn’t just want to tell you!”” Discord cheered, and he held out his hand. The grey mare took it, and she sat up. “Now, what’s your name?” Discord asked cheerfully.

“Derpy, thank you...Discord.” Derpy said, looking across to the draconeqqus across from her.

“No problem, er, but how do you know my name?” Discord asked.

“Everypony knows you, you were a villain….but now you’re good, and you gave that key to Twilight a few years back, from what I heard, right?” Derpy remembered. “So I trust you when you tell me that you know how I feel. Rejected, stupid…”

“Look, Derpy, you may feel rejected and depressed, but whenever you do, think of your friends. It took me a while but I finally realized that friendship is magic, it surrounds us, helps us, all that stuff! From what I know you have a two daughters and a loving husband, yes? Their friendship is what you should think of. It brings your energy back. See, you can sit up now, can’t you?” Discord asked.

Derpy looked down. She sat up straighter. “Yes, I can, and you’re right!” Derpy stood up. “I have to get to my family and revive them, thank you, Discord!” Derpy called as she ran off.

As the grey pegasus ran off into the distance, Discord breathed a sigh of relief. “I did it, I really did it! Huh, maybe I have changed…” Discord said to himself as he went off towards the next pony.

Soon all of Ponyville was revived in great time-thanks mostly to Discord and Derpy, the first pony revived (The others had troubles until finally Discord showed them, they were quite surprised at how earnest and sincere he could be (Possibly his old personality?) at times.) Everypony was gathered around. Discord, Spike, and the mane six were at the front, looking on at the crowd.

“Ahem!” Twilight cleared her throat. “Everypony calm down please! We have some things to discuss!” She yelled out into the crowd. The crowd quieted down. “As you know, Tirek is ravaging havoc on all of Equestria, and you are now standing here now because of Discord, who will explain what we shall be doing next.” Twilight finished her statement, turning to look at Discord.

Discord was surprised, and he took a moment to think about it. “Uh...well, what I think we are to be doing is that we will revive all other ponies in Equestria, earth ponies to the nearer towns, pegasi to the south and west, unicorns off to Canterlot and the eastern towns.” Discord commanded like a pro. “Now I, the royal highness here, and the rest of the elements will go off to face Tirek. Since there are no longer any elements of harmony, each pony will stand as their own element in place. BUT, there aren’t enough elements to defeat Tirek, I'm pretty sure of that. We will fight Tirek off as long as possible, and that is when you guys come in. I’ve...learned that pony kind is stronger when together, and with all of us I’m sure Tirek won’t be able to defeat us, that's certain!” Discord finifshed, but was surprised when the ponies all started cheering. His eyes widened, and he looked at the ponies.

He hadn't felt like that for over a thousand years…

“Well then,” Discord continued after gaining his composure. “Go on, shoo!” And the ponies all ran/flew off, as the pegasi's new energy gave them the ability to fly nice and low, no more no less.

“Woah, so you think we’re really going to be able to defeat Tirek?” Rainbow asked.

“I don’t see why not?” Discord replied. Fluttershy nodded, and stood next to him, proud of her fiance.

“Well then, how are we going to find Tirek?” Rarity asked. Suddenly an ear splitting roar erupted from Canterlot. “Huh, it seems my question has just been answered.” the white unicorn said, and they six ponies, baby dragon, and draconeqqus headed off towards Canterlot for the epic battle to come~.

When the group arrived at the scene, they all gasped. Everything was either in flames or completely destroyed. The group spotted Cadence and Luna, who had left for Tirek whilst the mane seven and Discord revived the ponies. They were severly injured, and could barely stand up.

“Princess Luna! Cadence!” Twilight shrieked as she galloped to their side.

“Tirek...he’s too…strong.” Cadence gasped, and the poor princess passed out. Twilight started crying while Luna also accompanied the pink princess and fainted. Their bodies looked thin and weary, covered in dirt, bruises, and long, sharp cuts.

“Oh no, not-” Fluttershy gasped as she came to Luna’s side, but was interrupted by Tirek

“We meet again, little ponies!” Tirek boomed evilly. “Only this time, you won’t escape!”

“Who says?” Rainbow taunted, and she flew around and around Tirek’s head until he got dizzy.

“ENOUGH!” Tirek yelled and he smacked his gigantic hand into Rainbow, who luckily flew off without much injury. “REMEMBER WHAT I SAID! I WILL KILL YOU!” He charged at the group of ponies, who quickly ran out of his range. As for Cadence and Luna, they nearly got trampled!

“Psh, yeah right!” Rainbow continued.

But that was a mistake.

Tirek this time successfully slapped Rainbow Dash into a rocky hard surface many meters off. Pinkie and the others gasped. Rainbow Dash did not return, or at least by herself. Tirek smiled evilly as he brought her near with his magic. Tirek opened his mouth, and Rainbow Dash was quickly dehydrated of most of her energy, in fact, if it weren’t for the strong bond of friendship energy everypony there had, (Well, except for Discord, who only really had it only with a few ponies) Rainbow would have been dead!

“Rainbow!” Mostly everypony cried and rushed to her side. Tirek just laughed at the weaklings.

“Dashie! Dashie, come on, wake up!” Pinkie sobbed, tears streaming down her face. Fluttershy, Spike, AppleJack, Rarity, and Twilight also cried. Fluttershy turned and cried in Discord’s coat/fur(?). Discord just watched solemnly, he didn’t really care much for the cyan pegasus as he did for some others, but yet he wouldn’t ever want her to die. Then he remembered their current situation, and he looked up at the monster that was looming over him.

He remembered the times when he was considered a “monster” among the pony folk.

Pinkie also glared up at Tirek, and something in her snapped. She jumped up and out of nowhere she brought a huge, horrifyingly sharp knife and stabbed him in the thigh.

“AUGH!” Tirek hugged his leg as blood started gushing out.

“THIS IS WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU HURT MY FRIENDS, TIREK!” Pinkie screamed and she threw the blade again, where it slashed and kept itself in one of Tirek’s lower arms, just below his elbow. Tirek screamed in pain yet again.

Looking down in rage, Tirek’s voice was suddenly calm after he realized that this still couldn't hurt him. “Hah, you think you can hurt me, little ponies? Think again…” He released his leg and the wound healed itself magically. Pinkie shrunk back slightly in fear. “Well, I was going to have to randomly choose one of you to kill next, but since you volunteered pink pony, it seems that you’ll be next!” Tirek exclaimed. He picked up Pinkie with his magic and sucked out her strength and energy, leaving her just like Rainbow’s current condition.

“Pinkie!” Fluttershy yelped, before running off. This was just too much for her. Discord tried to stop her, but another scream disrupted him.

“Rarity! Don’t worry Ah’ll save you!” AppleJack yelled, and she tried to recollect the white unicorn, but she failed. AppleJack and Rarity fell on the ground, cold and practically lifeless.

“No!” Twilight rushed to their side, as did Discord.

“No,” Discord echoed, his entire mind was in shock.

This couldn't be happening...

“This...how COULD you! You will pay for this, Tirek!” Twilight screamed in rage, and she fired lazers at Tirek multiple times. Tirek got hit many of those times but whenever he did, the wound the lazer left immediately disappeared. Twilight fired again and again, but even she eventually lost to the now ever powerful Tirek. Discord was furious with the state of his “friends”, but he couldn’t do anything.

Yet.

“Twilight!” Discord yelped as he flew up and caught Twilight, afraid that if she fell with that much force she had when falling down she no longer would be alive. He caught her and slowly flapped down. By this time Fluttershy had made herself return, but she was ever so scared.

Although after she saw another one of her friends go out cold, she couldn’t last it any longer.

“Why you big, fat, MEANIE!” Fluttershy screamed as she flew up eye to eye with Tirek. “I KNOW you’re evil and all, but did you have to hurt almost ALL of my FIRENDS? REALLY?” the usually timid pegasus snorted.

Tirek just laughed, and his strangely minty breath washed over the pink maned pegasus. “Yes, really, but you must know that it’s now your turn, little pony!” Tirek chuckled evilly once more. Fluttershy’s eyes widened at the tone of his voice, and she started to fly off but yet, it was too late.

“NO!” Discord screeched, and tried to stop Tirek from hurting his beloved, but Tirek’s powerful force field zapped him off. Discord winced for a moment before gaining his ground once again. “If I only had my magic…” Discord muttered but then gasped as Fluttershy’s limp body began to fall. Flying as quickly as he could, he grabbed his fiancee and landed on the ground a little faster than he expected, causing his ankles to go crack! Discord didn’t mind, though, his anger was much too great. Discord lay Fluttershy gently down onto the ground before standing straight up again.

“TIREK! HOW DARE YOU” Discord yelled as he flew back up. “NOT ONLY DID YOU HURT AND DRAIN MY FRIENDS, AND MOST OF EQUESTRIA, BUT NOW MY FIANCEE?” Discord ranted. “I DON’T CARE IF I DON’T HAVE MY MAGIC, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER, I WILL KILL YOU!” Discord charged at Tirek, but Tirek’s magic overtook him and trapped him in one spot. Discord struggled to get out, but he was stuck, again!

“Ooh, a relationship already, Discord? Oh yes, you think you can stop me can’t you? Ha! We’ll I’ll tell you what…” Tirek brought Discord closer with his magic. “I don’t care if you have your ‘magic of friendship’ I AM going to kill all of pony kind!” Tirek was about to evilly laugh when a sudden rumble made him stumble, and, trying to regain his composure, he accidentally dropped Discord.

“Thank Celestia,” Discord muttered as he open his wings wide. They gladly took in the air, but flapped awkwardly as Discord landed. “Now what cause that to happ-?”

“Hey Discord!” Derpy called, and Discord turned around. Behind him was all of Equestria, all spread out in a gigantic mob of technicolor ponies.

“Oh thank goodness!” Discord cheered as he flew towards her. “Where were you?” Discord asked, but then looked back towards his unconscious friends. “Nevermind, we need to help them.” Discord brung over each of the eight ponies, and a few nurse ponies looked over them. Shortly after each one was checked and revived to a state where they had enough energy to sit up, Tirek roared once more.

“CURSE YOU PONIES!” Tirek yelled in rage as he stomped his hoof in fury.

Bravely, Discord decided to fly up to him once more. ‘This is it,’ Discord thought.

Derpy looked up. “You can do it, Discord” she muttered to herself.

“No, Tirek. You have done enough. With the ENTIRE population of Equestria behind me, you are certain to be beaten.” Discord gestured to the large mob of ponies behind him.

Tirek laughed like that was the funniest joke he had ever heard. “And how…would THAT work?” He gasped while laughing like the maniac he was.

Discord stood up straighter. “There might’ve not been enough magic if those six bearers of harmony back there to defeat you this time, but from what I know, ponies are stronger, better when they work together.” Discord spun around, and flew down to the ponies. “I know that each of you, all of you represent an element of harmony. I know that some of you hate to lie, be mean, untrustworthy, sad, be rejected. But today…” Discord paused and swung back towards Tirek. “We stand together.” Discord slowly started his path towards Tirek again. “I, WE, will all defeat you Tirek! With our elements of Loyalty!”

Sudden rings surrounded some ponies, and a blue light portrayed from them, and all stood tall as they realized what was happening.

“Laughter!” Discord called. Pink light portrayed from happy looking, smiling ponies behind him. “Kindness!” Discord yelled as he slowly flew his way back up to Tirek, half way there. A bunch of ponies were surrounded with a yellow light. “Honesty!” Discord continued and the same portion of ponies were surrounded with a orange light. “Generosity!” Discord was almost there now; ponies lighted up with a pure white light. Now there were a only a few left.

“W-What?” Tirek was slightly...intimidated now.

“Magic!” Discord yelped and the last ponies were surrounded with a pruple light. But that was not what scared Tirek. All that harmonic energy entered Discord, and his eyes glowed a bright yellow. He held his arms out sideways, like he had something in each hand, which in fact he did.

A rainbow colored bright ball of energy floated above each of his hands; clearly all the magic that came forth from the little ponies.

“AND…”Discord smiled, and shot up into the sky and did a loop-de-loop before charging straight at him. “THE MAGIC OF FRIENDSHIP!!!” The balls of energy shot straight at him, and Tirek tried to protect himself with a force field but Discord’s, but all of Equestria's ‘friendship’ magic was too strong, shooting through like a knife trough melted butter.

All the ponies currently there were lifted up into one huge ball, and surrounded Tirek with a rainbow colored aray of light, each ponies eyes glowing ever so bright.

Tirek was dissolved into thin air within a minute.

Finally, he was dead.

All the little ponies screamed and cheered in delight as they landed softly onto the ground; the pegasi shot up into the air, the unicorns hugged their earth pony companions and they danced with glee. With all of their energy returned and all of their injuries healed, Fluttershy immediately shot up and into Discord with a cry of happiness. She flew right into him, making him tumble and kissed the draconeqqus with much passion. Some ponies gasped when they saw this, some just awed, some just looked with pure disgust (Mostly the youngerfillies and colts). Fluttershy and Discord separated and noticed yet again that they were not alone. They both turned as scarlet as ever, Discord had never been this embarassed...

Or happy in his entire life.

After a few months of planning it out, the wedding was finally came. Today was the big day, and both Discord and Fluttershy were nervous. Discord stood by his best mare, Derpy, who was now one of his closest friends. Since Discord didn’t know many colts, Derpy and Spike were the only ones on his side. Dinky, Derpy’s daughter, was the ringbearer. Discord loved to play with Dinky sometimes, she was very fond, bright, and able to play a “few” pranks.

The setting of the wedding was actually outside because practically all of Equestria wanted to come to their hero’s wedding. For his share, Discord was just glad that only simple animals weren’t going to be the main reception.

Suddenly snapped out of his thoughts, Discord looked off towards the small orchestra/band that began to play the Wedding March. Discord straightened, prepared to see his beloved bride. But even Discord could help but gasp slightly as the flowers girls, who were the crusaders of course, trotted in followed by the one and only Fluttershy.

Fluttershy was absolutely beautiful, her long mane in braids with shimmering flowers knotted into them. The pegasus’s long bangs were also held back by the braids, and a white veil was put on the back of her head. Fluttershy’s dress was pure white with flowers at each end of it’s three layers. It had pink and gold embroiderment and was indeed made by Rarity; the couple loved their decision of picking her to make the suits and dresses. Fluttershy’s sleeves were also a bright pink and gold, the gold parts shimmering in the daylight.

“She does look beautiful, doesn’t she?” Derpy giggled to Discord. The groom only nodded, lost in Fluttershy’s beauty.

Cadence stood ready at the altar. The princess offered to actually do the job for Discord and Fluttershy, she could feel their true love; she absolutely loved her part as princess of love.

Fluttershy finally arrived at the altar, and Cadence began. She explained the pegasus and draconeqqus a little bit, and then she started her vows:

“Do you, Fluttershy, take Discord to be your beloved husband, through good and bad, through sickness and health?” Cadence asked.

Fluttershy smiled. “I do,” she said, and placed the ring from Dinky onto Discord’s eagle-claw finger.

Cadence turned towards Discord. “Do you, Discord, take Fluttershy to be your beloved wife, through good and bad, through sickness and health?”

Having to spice it up a bit, Discord chuckled: “Well I wouldn’t be standing here if I didn’t want to, now would I?” The crowd laughed. After they settled down, Discord looked back at Fluttershy. “But in all seriousness, I do.” Discord put on the other ring on Fluttershy right hoof, and they locked eyes for a moment, both beaming.

“Then by the power vested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife! You may kiss the bride!” Cadence cheered and awed when Fluttershy flew up and shared a loving, passionate kiss with Discord. The audience was the the same.

“Man, I never thought that this would look so sweet!” Rarity whispered to the others in the line. They all nodded.

“Now it’s your cue!” Twilight nudged Rainbow Dash and she nodded. The cyan pegasus flew up and did her legendary Sonic Rainboom, which spread out with a somewhat extra shimmery glow.

“Second…” Rainbow again looked down at the happy couple, who were now celebrating with the other ponies. “No, BEST wedding ever!” She cheered, and flew down, leaving a bright, magical rainbow that stayed up extra long, extra loving that lasted the entire, magical night.

Chapter 14: Epilouge

Fluttershy and Discord lived up to their vows; in the next few years they will sometime become ill only to be nursed back to health by the other. Eventually Discord and Fluttershy will have a child, but it's name is too be found out. Discord will outlive Fluttershy, much to his despair. No matter what he does eventually Fluttershy will die; Discord will try to make everyday, every moment count.

Twiight and the others will also be living out their lives, and will also eventually die. But each will have somepony to love:

PinkiePie and Cheese Sandwhich will eventually have two twins, and will both be the best party planners in Equestria. The two will become very succesful and will experience lives in plenty of riches, meaning TONS of fun.

Spike will eventually grow and become bigger, and will marry Rarity. Even though Rarity is older than Spike, neither mind. Spike and Rarity will also have two children.

AppleJack and Rainbow Dash will eventually start dating and marry someday. Their love goes strong, like Fluttershy's and Discord. With the help of a few charms and spells, Dashie and AJ will have one beautiful child. This child will have the strength and agility of it's mothers.

Twilight finds her love soon after Discord and Fluttershy get married, which is a stallion named Star Spruce, a decendent of Star Swirl the Bearded. Star Spruce and Twilight will have four children, and Star Spruce will die one year after Twilight, much to her relief. Twilight will outlive all of her friends, but only by a short time. She will pass down her element to one of her offspring, as each element bearer does.

The new element bearers will take their seats in Twilight's Castle as their parents did. Three of Twilight's daughters/sons will be alicorns, but all will help rule along with Luna peacefully. With the ever-continuence of harmony, no villian will ever come over Equestria for many years.

Derpy, her husband Doctor Whooves, and daughters Sparkler and Dinky will all live happily, and Derpy will still be friends with Discord until her death many years later. After the incident with Tirek, she becomes very respected and stands as an encouragement to others, big or small. Dinky and Sparkler will sometimes be called over to babysit all the newborns and fillies that belong to the main six/seven, and Dinky will eventually get her cutiemark in babysitting.

Luna will rule over Equestria like her sister did, and she will only make the nation a little more defensive and powerful in weapontry as she doesn't want to almost be taken over again by some random but powerful villian. Luna will always encourage harmony, and will revive King Sombra from the pits of death a few years after Fluttershy's marrige. Luna will reform him and they shall marry not long after Fluttershy turns thirty years old. Both live enternally, much to their relief.

After thousands of years, Discord's attitude will still stay the same, even after hundreds of heartbreaks. He will become very famous for his old stories, and he will tell his stories just like the day he experienced them. He would also become a good fighter, as villians are now returning to Equestria, like the infamous Queen Chrysalis. But even Discord will eventually die, may it be in battle or not, in honor or not, but he will be remembered in Equestria forever on~.

Finally done with Unexpected! I really liked writing this story, thanks to all my followers and friends who encouraged me to make it! I will be taking a break for writing Pinkie's Adventures to the Fourth Wall and Beyond and then I will hopefully start a sequel to this, might I say great story. I will also be going back and checking the story and adding italics to the early chapters which I did not know would translate so wierdly from Google Drive. I also might be adding and changing some parts, but only if I choose to. This entire story actually took me less than I expected, and it's shorter than I thought it would be, but it's a good story nonetheless, yes? But anyways, thanks to all those stories and writers who inspired me, helped me (especially with editing), and befriended me.. In fact, thank you all! Now, as I should say, have a GREAT day!!!!

Chapter 1: An Unexpected Visit

Once upon a time, in a magical world called Equestria, there was… a grumpy ‘ol draconeqqus by the name of Discord. Discord was what you may call “reformed”, and only by a young, yellow, and most of all shy pegasus by the name of Fluttershy. Discord, on the other hand, is vile, monstrous- wait! He wasn’t really monstrous, or vile! Although is he is-well was- the Lord of Chaos, he had quitted his old ways because of the little pegasus, and plus, controlling the world was tiring!

Although, right now he felt more tired than ever. The mis-match draconeqqus had been collecting herbs from his what to be called “natural” home, the Everfree forest. He wished that he could teleport to the Princess’ castle so he could get some sleep, but he had been so tired that he couldn’t have possibly teleported that big of a space, mostly because he was used to teleporting only small-er distances.

‘Man, that princess,’ he thought, ‘always needing me to do this, and that, can’t she just leave me to get some re-!!!' Discord spun his head around as a magenta laser shot out towards him, and he instinctively teleported. But the teleportation took a lot of energy out of him, and a hard gust of wind caused him to spin out of control.

Until he crashed into something. Hard.

Meanwhile, Fluttershy was taking some time to feed her canaries. She had gotten them special treats and she couldn’t wait to see their fac--!

BANG!

A loud crash was heard, and, carefully and curiously, she slowly turned around, and headed towards the sound of the crash.

‘Oh I hope Mr. Grizzly hasn’t gotten himself hurt again!’ Fluttershy thought. But as she opened the door to her bedroom she gasped.

His face distorted, and covered in cuts, bruises, and some awful gashes, lay, or well crashed Discord. On the right side of her room, perfectly between her two lovely pictures of her family and friends. Discord moaned in pain, and clutched his head.

“Oh, my, D-Discord! A-Are you alright?!?” Fluttershy rushed towards him and pulled him out of the hole, causing his sides to fill up with more cuts and scrapes. It seemed that the house simply didn’t like him, as if the house were to have feelings.

Fluttershy carefully removed the splinters of wood from the injured draconeqqus, and checked over every bit of him. She worked her way through, inspecting his larger injuries, such as the gash along the side of his long, slithery, body, disinfected them, and lastly bandaged them. What surprised her the most was the fact that he was even there, bravely hanging on to consciousness, but still hissing in pain whenever she touched his fresh wounds.

Unfortunately, this bravery did not last, and as soon as she touched his head, the poor thing passed out.

“Discord!” Fluttershy yelped, as the sudden loss of movement scared her. She soothed down though, when she heard his steady breathing. His head looked bumpy, and she thought that he might be having a concussion. Logic came in though, and told her that if Discord had been able to stay awake this entire time then he, of course, mustn't have a concussion.

Still worried for her friend, she bandaged up this area most carefully, and when she was done, called her friends over to see the matter.

As soon as they heard the news, Twilight, Spike, AppleJack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Rarity ran to Fluttershy’s cottage as quickly as possible, bringing fresh wood and hay for the torn roof of her cottage.

As they galloped into the cottage, Fluttershy trotted down the stairs and greeted them.

“Fluttershy, what in tarnation happen in here?” AppleJack asked worriedly “Are you alright?” The ponies (and dragon) started to crowd around her.

“Yeah are you okay? Cause if you’re not that would be super sad and I would feel as if I am a really bad friend and then you would go away and forget me and then we would all be sad! And after that I’ll have to put on a pity party and then--” She was muffled by Spike’s claw.

“Go ahead.” He said.

“It’s alright, I’m okay, it’s Discord I’m worried about,” She started trotting up the stairs yet again, the rest following obediently. “I mean, he just came crashing through my roof, and well, he has quite a few injuries, including a broken wing and some gashes along his side.” They reached the small hall of the second level. “Poor thing.”

“Poor thing? Really? After all he’s done, you call him a poor thing? He deserves it!” Rainbow Dash spat, but immediately regretted her words when the others looked at her in utter shock.

“R-Rainbow! How could you say such a thing? I know he hasn’t really been as close to us as he was before, but that’s just-” Rarity stammered.

“Vile!” Twilight finished. “Rainbow, I know you dislike him most out of the seven of us, but all beings deserve to have a chance at reclaiming pony’s trust!” Twilight lectured.

“Yeah, but he isn’t a being, he’s a...” Fluttershy almost couldn’t bear to her her next words. “monster. All of you even said so!” She pointed her hoof at her friends accusingly.

Fluttershy gasped. “I-Is this true? Have you been talking about him behind my back all this time? I-I-I can’t believe you! Is this truly how you feel? I-I don’t know what to say, I’m s-so,” She took a shaky breath. “disappointed in you! All of you!” Tears started to fill up in her eyes. Why were her friends so distant with him now? They used to be proud to call him their friend, but now, as the years wear away...

“Fluttershy…” Spike said, “We’re..”

“Sorry, but he has been just so...chaotic these days! He's gone back to his regular self, his self before the Tirek incident!" Rarity interrupted.

“Yeah, and he always made it rain chocolate milk without a single dollop of whipped cream!” Pinkie added.

Twilight sighed. “We are sorry Fluttershy, but he was just too hard of a draconeqqus to get along with for a while now. It's almost like he's been un-reformed..”

“Sugarcube, Ah’m sorry, but I’ll have to agree with Twilight and the rest of us here.” AppleJack grumbled as she hung her head.

"See? I still don’t get why you defend him!” Rainbow finished off. All the others nodded slowly and softly.

“Now ‘bout the house, Sugarcube?” AppleJack asked, trying to change the subject.

“No.. you don’t know what’s he’s been trying to do!” Fluttershy snapped. “You all are so distant with him now, and I can find reasons why, but don’t you even know how hard he’s been trying to get closer to you again? He has been doing his best, he even admitted that his confessions that friendship was magic! Would a Lord of Chaos usually admit that? And, about his “pranks” now-it’s really just natural for him! I’ve been trying hard to help him stop his need for more chaos now then two years ago, and while he was in Canterlot serving the Princesses, I hoped he was doing okay! Imagine, if you loved doing something, but all of a sudden you could never do that again? Like Rainbow, would it be easy for you if you were banished from flying? You sure would still sometimes have secret flights at night sometimes, wouldn’t you? Exactly the same thing with Discord! I am tired of all of you never trying to even be closer friends with him! Now, unless you are helping me repair the hole in the roof or would even like to help or see Discord, for I’m not sure whether he has something wrong with his head or something, please leave. Now.” And it was in this tone you obey her. No matter what. Period.

Rainbow, Rarity, and Pinkie Pie left. If there was no party, a real need for help with Twilight around, and too many emotions surrounding their friendships with Discord, why stay then?

Meanwhile, Twilight, AppleJack, and Spike stayed there to help. When hearing about Discord’s head being damaged, Twilight was immediately interested. Most magical beings, such as unicorns, alicorns, changelings, and things like Discord, have a special organ that possess them the ability to use magic. If this organ gets damaged badly enough, they will not be able to use magic, or at the most use easy spells, such as levitation. But that’s only when it gets damaged enough. Usually, the beings magic is out of whack, and it can be like that for a day or a year, all depends on how damaged the head is.

In a mutter, Fluttershy mumbled, “He’s right here.” She opened the door, and let them in. When the three entered, they all gasped with shock and surprise. Fluttershy was right, Discord did have a lot of scrapes and bruises, even though half of them were caused by Discord’s rummaging through the forest. His head, stomach area, and Pegasus wing were in bandages. The ponies and baby dragon were silent, as the tired draconeqqus slept peacefully.

“Wow, you were right Sugarcube, he does look bad.” AppleJack remarked, her face pulling back in scowl, breaking the silence. Although not looking too bad Discord didn’t look too good. From a long glance, it looked like he would be at the cottage for a few weeks.

“Yeah,” Spike agreed. “Should I take a letter? He looks like he’s gonna be staying here a while.” Twilight nodded, and Spike took a letter from seemingly nowhere.
