//-------------------------------------------------------// Your Somewhat Kinda of Sort of Typical Changeling Revenge Story -by Supah64th- //-------------------------------------------------------// //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 34: The Revenge That Never Came //-------------------------------------------------------// Chapter 34: The Revenge That Never Came Chapter 34: The Revenge That Never Came It was, yet again, another beautiful day in Ponyville. At the Golden Oak Library, Twilight Sparkle was previously engage in reading a documentary book about the days of old, containing hundreds upon hundreds of pages. In fact, this was the lavender pony’s fifth book in the last several hours. She was on a serious roll with her reading. Twilight has a clear schedule and she planned on using the whole day to do nothing but study. Yes, Twilight’s life is meaningless. Suddenly, there was a knock at the door, causing Twilight to uplift from her high of stupor. She let out a small sigh and placed a bookmark on the page before setting the large texture book down and trotted towards the frontdoor. She answered and was greeted with the smiling and cross-eyed mailpony, Derpy ‘Ditzy’ Doo. “Hi Twilight!” Derpy chirped enthusiastically. “I have a package for you!” She turned around and presented a large box. Upon seeing such a large package, Twilight couldn’t help but smile almost ear to ear. “Oh, whoa! Who was the sender?” the Unicorn librarian asked. “It doesn’t say.” Derpy stated with a slight shrugged. “I checked it a few times, but there is no return address. The note just simply says, ’For Twilight Sparkle’, so I figure since you’re the only pony named ‘Twilight Sparkle’ I’ll just deliver it to you.” Twilight grabbed hold of the large package with her telekinetic magic and levitated it inside the library tree. “Well, thanks for delivering it, Derpy. See ya later!” “Okay, bye!” The grey Pegasus replied happily before shooting off into the sky to her next destination. Twilight Sparkle closed the door and placed the large package nearby a table. Many possibilities ran through the lavender mare’s mind on what could be inside the box. It was unusually big and large. Maybe it contains many more books, ancient descriptive tombs, or something for her to study. Who was the sender? The Princess, perhaps? Maybe her brother, Shining Armor, sent her a surprise gift? Maybe…a secret admirer? Twilight’s cheeks turned a tad redder at the thought of somepony out there somewhere that likes her. So many possibilities which will now be reveal. Using her magic, Twilight popped open the top cover and tip the package over to view the hidden mystery within…only to witness a sea of multicolor foam softeners spilling out. She raised an eyebrow, but regardless she was still anticipating at the wonders of what could be some sort of impossibly unidentified fantastic discovery within the package.  Twilight dug her way through the foam, entering the large box, safety foam thrown everywhere, hoping to find something, anything at all. Then, until she finally found it! It was…a crystal ball. Confuse at first, she stare questionably at the orb. A moment later, the crystal ball began to glow a bright green. An ominous mist smeared her reflection and after a brief second something began to form, replacing the mist. The figure form into a face that resembles much like a pony, but it isn’t a pony. It had a jagged horn, teal long mane, fangs, and green eyes. An all too familiar being appeared within the orb that made Twilight gasped in shock. It was Queen Chrysalis, the Changeling Queen! “Mwha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Twilight Sparkle, it is I, Queen Chrysalis!” The gangly dark grey Changeling announced. “Chrysalis?! But I don’t understand!” Twilight stated with a mix of shock, anger, and fear. “Mwha, ha, ha, ha! I have returned to exact my revenge! I have kidnapped all of your precious, stupid little friends, and the Princesses, and also your brother! Mwha, ha, ha, ha, ha!” Chrysalis exclaimed. “You…you fiend!” The Unicorn mare proclaimed angrily. “I raped them constantly and laid my eggs inside them, and they just lay there and take it! Mwha, ha, ha, ha, ha!” Chrysalis declared out of nowhere, apparently proud….too proud. Twilight was silent. “….you don’t have any friends do you?” She asked. The image of Chrysalis in the magic communicating orb cough in her holed hoof, brushing off Twilight’s question. “If you ever want to see them again, come to my castle within the Changeling Kingdom.” Chrysalis then paused for a second. “……Mwha, ha, ha, ha, ha!” The image of her head disappeared as the foggy mist covered the orb once more before turning blank. Twilight release an aggravated sigh before turning towards the frontdoor. “I guess that explains why I haven’t seen Spike all day…” she mumbled to herself. She grabbed her non-animal fur coat and left the Golden Oak Library. It’s going to be a long and chilly day… Sometime Later… Twilight Sparkle boarded the next train for departure, leaving Ponyville as she planned on arriving at Dodge Junction and travel from there to the Badlands. Somewhere around that area lies in wait are her friends and family within the boarder of the Changeling Kingdom deep underground. Unfortunately, the train Twilight was riding in had encounter a major accident as it trailed off the tracks of the broken bridge and fell into the deep chasm filled river between the Ghastly Gorge and the Everfree Forest’s bogged area. Many lives were lost that day, however, Twilight Sparkle, being the sole survivor, have no choice but to move on hoof. The lavender mare had one hell of a rescue adventure as she roam all over Equestria to get from point A to point B. Twilight fought many creatures within the Ghastly Gorge, she encounter many scandals producers and con-artistes at Las Pegasus. She hoof-wrestled dangerous predictors at the Frozen North and succeeded. Twilight partied all night with the Buffalo Tribe at their conveniently annual celebration somewhere out in the desert, she hitch-hike on bypassing carriages filled with albino ponies, and she rescue a thought to be long lost ancient civilization from a crazed thousand year old pony who can summon swarms of locusts and shot laser beams from the eyes…which was located at the very top of Foal Mountain. Despite the many unnecessary backtracking and accepting side-missions from a variety of applicants at the ‘Help & Request Center’ (she couldn’t resist, the rewards were very promising), Twilight finally made it to the Badlands. The travel from Ponyville to here may have taken a little over a week, but what’s done is done and now she can finally focus on her primary objective and set out for the Changeling Kingdom. After a bit of travestying through the barren desert landscape of the Badlands, the Unicorn mare have finally came upon the entrance to the underground cavern that will lead to Queen Chrysalis and her captive love ones. Twilight stopped in her trek and let out of huff of breathe. “This is bullshit.” She muttered aloud to herself, staring at, indeed, a pile of bullshit at the foot of the entrance. Grudgingly, Twilight maneuver around the mound of feces and enter into the cave leading underground. “Well…here goes nothing.” She said, advancing her way downward. She only made it about five hooves steps until her eyes grew wide at a horrific sight. Trixie Lulamoon waved at her. “Hi Twilight!” the azure coated Unicorn pony greeted nicely. “Trixie?!” Twilight exclaimed in surprise. “I thought you we’re kidnapped.” Twilight recalled from her memory that Chrysalis claimed that she kidnapped all of her friends. Her ’Friends’. “Never mind, forget it.” Twilight said bluntly while shaking her head. She took a deep breath before continuing. “Anyways, what brings you here?” Trixie lazily glance around the poorly constructed ragged and unshaped walls that at first impression will seem like it’ll clasped upon itself at any given moment. Finally, she responded. “Plot device.” “But of course.” Twilight replied back, accepting this display of logical explanation as factual. “This will defiantly rack up and earn a lot viewers and positive feedback.” Trixie quickly interjected, breaking the 4th Wall in the process. Quite uncharacteristic of Trixie to do so, but none the less Twilight simply accepted this. “So as such, The ‘Great and Powerful’ Trixie shall team-up with you, lending her ‘Great’ and ‘Powerful’ magic skills to help with your cause. We’ll save all of Equestria, together!“ The hat and cape wearing Unicorn offered. Twilight nodded in agreement, because why not. Soon, the pair of Unicorn mares traveled further down the tunnel leading deeper into the subterranean home of the Changelings. “The Great and Powerful Trixie fears nopony!” Trixie boosted loudly as they continue their trek. “Trixie can easily best these pesky bugs! Let’s do this!” she let loose a battle cry that will impress the ruthless of Vikings across the sea. Twilight Sparkle just simply ignored Trixie and trotted pass her and enter into the upcoming labyrinth that they’ll have to navigate their way through, which was dub as ‘The Labyrinth of Annoyance’. Many hours have past and the underground maze was really living up to its namesake. Every twist and turn Twilight and Trixie took only led to dead-ends. Even retracing their steps only lead them back at the beginning from where they started. It was a miracle that not a single Changeling came within their view. But then again, who in the right mind will settle in position in a place where you’ll get seemingly lost forever? Twilight then stopped abruptly, causing Trixie to ram into her backside and they both topple over. Being the first to get up, Trixie asked; “Why you stop?” Twilight sighed before standing back on all fours and faced the azure pony. “Don’t you get it?” “Get what?” “This maze, no matter which direction we take we’ll always end up at some sort of false end point.” The lavender pony explained. “Sooo…what’s your point?” Trixie asked. “You see, it’s called the ‘Labyrinth of Annoyance’ for a reason!” Trixie just stares at her. “It’s in the name, ’Annoyance’, meaning that this maze’s purpose is to annoy those who enter, get it?” Trixie just stares at her. “For the last several hours, we got lost, tried, hungry, and very frustrated. Those are key signs of annoyance!” Trixie just stares at her. “This labyrinth has been cast with a powerful spell that seals the exit to those who are annoyed.” Trixie just stares at her. Twilight rolled her eyes. “Just stay positive and the way out will be revealed!” Trixie just stares at her. Majorly facehoofing, the lavender pony then bitterly stated; “…Trixie you are great and powerful.” Trixie smiled brightly at the praise she was given. “Why thank you Twilight! It’s good to know that you’ve finally acknowledge Trixie’s alluring power.” Just like that a door appeared from a puff of smoke right next to them on a wall. Despite being irritated herself, Twilight just shrugged, sighed again, and enters through the door alongside her Unicorn companion. They appear in another part of the subterranean society of the Changeling Kingdom. On close inspection, Twilight realized they have been warped inside of the underground castle hive. The pair quickly moved forward and barged through a door. There she was, Queen Chrysalis in all of her gangly Pegacorn glory…reading a newspaper with her hooves kicked-back on the edge of her throne while wearing her reading glasses. The duo Unicorns hastily approach and it was only then Chrysalis notice their arrival despite the fact her chamber’s door was wedge wide and roughly opened. She quickly put away her reading material and repositions herself to look more dignified and royally and evilly compose. She didn’t do a good job. “Oh...um, hello.” Chrysalis spoke first. “Hey.” “How’s it going?” “Cool.” “Yeah.” “Good.” “Great.” “Yep.” “Hmmm…” Then it was silent for awhile after they each exchange some small form of pleasantries. “So….” Twilight nervously brush the floor with one of her front-hooves before she look up to make eye contact with the Queen of Changelings. “…are we going to fight now or…something…?” To their surprise, Queen Chrysalis just shrugged. “Oh, I don’t know. I was thinking about it as of late and, well…meh.” This time it was Twilight’s turn to just stare. Chrysalis sighed, knowing full well she’ll have to do some explaining. “Well you see, stories like these-- depending on their target audience--  don’t always make it to the final confrontation for the big climax. So, therefore, there’s nothing much to make a parody of.” Trixie glare at Chrysalis with the intensity of a thousand suns. “Are you BUCKING kidding me?!!” “Hey, hey, whoa, don’t blame me for this!” Chrysalis raises both of her hooves in defense. “Authors these days simply lose interest in their stories. Whether they’re bored of it, found something else of inspiration, or just have better things to do.” “’Don’t blame me’!” Trixie mock the dark grey Changeling in a high-pitch voice. “’Oh, the authors, the authors are bored, oh’. ‘They lose interest, ohh’! ‘They don’t want to anymore, ohh’. Of course I’m going to bucking blame you for this!” “Will you calm the hay down? Geez.” Twilight said to the enrage Unicorn mare. She intervenes by getting between her and the Queen. “No, no, its-- its fine, its fine.” Chrysalis reassured, placing her drilled hooves back down. “Listen…if you want, I’ll just give back all of your friends and families.” Twilight Sparkle and Trixie Lulamoon looked at each other questionably before returning their expression back at Chrysalis. Queen Chrysalis just merely shrugged before slowly vanishing from sight, somehow…I don’t know. Trixie, appearing downcast, slowly removed her infamous hat and rubbed the top of her head. “This…this was just…disappointing…” “You mean like your career as a showmare?” Twilight snickered and playfully nudged Trixie’s shoulder. “Shut. Up.” Trixie glowered at her. Twilight nodded her head. It wasn’t funny. …okay, it was funny. Slowly, but surely, all of Twilight’s friends, families, and acquaintances emerge from the depths of their hidden prison and rejoin her. Twilight did a quick head count and notice the absence of one important member. “Hey wait! What happen to Shining?” Twilight asked everypony around her, whom they all answered they did not know. “I’m right over here!” called out the sniveling tone of her BBBFF. Twilight looked further in the distance and saw her big brother painfully limping towards the group. She galloped towards him and hugged him tenderly in her hooves. He returned the gesture. “Oh, Shining. Are you okay?” she asked worryingly. The white coat and blue mane stallion sniffed a few times before answering back. “Twilight, I’m…I’m…” “Speak to me, Shining. What’s wrong?” Shining Armor, still embracing his caring sister, ease back enough to look Twilight straight in her eyes with his tear cover ones. “Twilight…I’m pregnant.” Twilight nodded her head. And so, they all went home and lived a 'Somewhat Kind of Sort of' peaceful life. The End
