Chapter 1: going home (proofread & edited)
Where was I. I thought
"Jacob..." a voice call
"Who's there?" I called back "Jacob..." the voice seemed feminine
"Its time to come home jacob..."
"Mother... is that you mother...?" i yelled
"its time to come home Jacob..."
"MOTHER!!"
JACOB...JACOB...JACOB...
JACOB WAKE UP YOU LAZIE SAKASHIT...
My eyes snapped open to the sound of my supervisor yelling into my ear. "WH-What!" I stammer is shock.
"Jacob come with me to my office we need to talk." My boss says with a disappointed sigh. "Take a seat son. Tell me how long have you been working here?" he ask with a hand rubbing his brow in frustration.
"Ten months sir." I reply nervously. "Ten months eh will in the last month you work ethic has been for shit.
Your barley showing up for work on time, you hardly get any thing done and on top of that the work you do get done has been half-assed. what the hell is wrong with you?!?!" he finished glaring at me causing me to flinch slightly. He let out a deep breath before continuing "Ah...shit well look its like this. You're a damn good worker up entill recently and one a the best i've seen in my forty-five years of work here the company. So I'm sorry if come off a bit gruff."
"I-I'm sorry sir I jest haven't..." I trailed off
"Haven't WHAT!!!" my boss shouts his voice a combination of irritation and impatiens which again causes me to flinch.
I was fairly easy to intimidate given my rather shy and timid (and what some would say cowardly) demeanor.
But he sounded generally concerned which help to clam me down some.
"I-I h-haven't b-been sl-sleeping n-nights sir." I said nervously 'There goes my stutter.' I thought to myself.
"So Thats it?" he asked with enfaces on each word.
"Y-Yes sir." I answer "Am I fired sir." I could just smell my imminent downfall.
"No, you can thank what ever god you pray to for that." He said as I gave a small sigh of relief. "But as of this moment and until further notice you can consider yourself suspended."
"S-SUSPENDED!" I exclaimed in surprises although really shouldn't have been. It was probably my near prefect work record that saved my sorry ass.
"Yes, suspended how ever to save your work record I'm going to put you down as on un-paid vacation due to sudden illness. Also I'm going to give number of a psychologist I know from collage, he a good friend of mine and a damn good shrink."
I nodded and hesitantly took piece of paper. I gave it quick read it said,

I stuck the parchment in to my shirt as my boss told me to go home and get some rest. 'Easier said then done.' I mumbled under my breath as I walked out and back to my desk to get my coat, coffee mug (which was still more than half full), and bag.
Then made my way down stairs to begin my thirty minute walk back to my apartment.
let me introduce myself my name is Jacob dusk Jr having taken my fathers name. I am twenty-three years old, single (after having my heart broken on multiple accounts.), I have a shit job that I hate, well it's not all bad my boss can be a bit a dick at time but he is usualy a pretty nice guy, my coworkers are a bit annoying but I keep to my self and ignore then and it dose pay more than enough to support my self alone, I have no car. It's that I can't afford one I jest never really like them, nor did have a need for one. I live in a decently sized one bed 1and 1/2 bath apartment.

I sat down on my couch and began to rub my temples, feeling a headache coming on. I sat there for few minutes before deciding to take a couple aspirin to ease me aching muscles. I got to my bathroom and took a moment to look at myself in the mirror. I rubbed my chin to judge my growing beard. After several minutes of chin rubbing I decided to give myself a quick shave. I reached over and grabbed my dry razor from behind the faucet and stared my shave. Once done, I took a good look to inspect my handy work. I had to admit I was rather handsome with my jet black hair and silvery-gray eyes (a rather rare eye color from what I've heard.). But a few more minutes of self admiration I finally got my aspirin from the cupboard, took two and put the bottle back then went to my bed while taking my work shirt off and untucking my wifebeater undershirt.
I take off my necklace and begin to spin it on my index finger. As I came to my bed my hand ceased the necklace’s revolution so I may hold it with my clenched hand. Now as I lie on my bed I resume playing with the necklace, spinning it on my finger. My mind wandered for a while began focusing on one of my aunt’s bedside stories when I was a small child. She spoke of a land called “Equestria” where equine-like creatures flourished as well as other mythological creatures. My gaze then focused on the necklace spinning on my finger. Well, I call it a necklace. My Aunt always said it was a “stone pendant”…heh; whatever they all look the same to me. All though it was a bit odd, it is shaped like half a heart and had the letters 'SK' carved in it.
I received this pendant on my tenth birthday, telling me to never take it off along with some other nonsense that it has “magical powers” enabling it to grant the wish that my heart desires most-as long as I wear it. Looking back I suppose the next thing would be that it would grow more powerful the longer I wear it.
Pfft, sure…
With a small chuckle I caught the pendant in my hand. I will humor my Aunt this one night.
I held the pendant to my heart like she told me. Recalling the incantation I inhaled deeply. So I yelled to no one, “OH HEAVENLY STONE OF SECRET POWER, WON’T YOU GRANT MY WISH ON THIS HOUR: I WISH TO BE SOMEHWERE I BELONG!”
I said loudly. I looked around for a few moments and nothing happen. "Ha magic yea right." I said cockily
Just then my whole body felt as if it was burning inside, like a fire just beneath my skin! I scratched and clawed at my arms and chest trying to make it stop but it only got worse as I squirmed and kicked at the air while the burning only continued to increase. Growing hotter and hotter with each passing second and just before I blackout from the intense pain I heard a voice, my voice repeating my wish to me. Then my stone began to glow just before there was blinding flash of white light, then everything went black.

I awoke to the sensation of rain hitting my face as my eyes flutter open as I lie on my back on the moist ground. I shot up to a sitting position at sound of a low growl.
“Who’s there?!” Nothing answered me as I shouted in fear as the growling stops. I quickly get on my feet and take in my surroundings. Though I saw nothing but darkness and shadows that growling I heard was all the incentive I needed to not drop my guard. After a few moments of listening to the rainfall I came to a conclusion. I’m being hunted. Whatever it was wanted me to believe it was gone. I shivered as a cold breeze hit my wet form. "Ah great I'm soaked. Gotta find shelter," I mutter aloud.
Then my train of thought was cut off by the sound of a twig snapping followed by that familiar growl. A wave of panic rushed over me as I did the first thing that can to mind: turned tail and ran as fast as I could go in the opposite direction. But this seemed to be just what the creature wanted as it let a howl of excitement as the chase was on. It was matter of seconds before the monster’s footsteps were right behind mine, I cried in pain as it swiped at my legs causing me to fall to the ground. I grabbed my leg and I felt sharp pain go through it. I assumed that the bone had been completely shattered and there was also a deep gash down the right side of my thigh.
I crawled backwards disparately try to get away, but it was futile as my back hit a tree. I was trapped! I took a good look at the being that spelled my death. Its features were barely visible in this dark, rainy forest: a very large wolf made not flesh and fur but wood with sickly, glowing green eyes and stood at about fifteen feet tall on its hind legs. The great beast was soon bearing down on me. Its wooden fangs posed for my neck like any wolf would as it stood over me.
"Well, if you gonna kill me then do it already." I said weakly and spat in its eye for good measure hoping this would at least make my death swift. Surely taunting it would provoke this primal creature…
I was wrong.
The wolf reared its right forepaw to swipe at me again at my side, a distance of three meters away and slamming into another tree. There was a loud crack as my already battered body hit the tree and all the air in my lungs left me as I let out an ear shattering cry of pain.
At that moment I felt a sort of second wind, though rather late and of no use but to fan the fires of my will. As I laid on the muddy forest floor, bleeding from my gashes and bruises screaming for the pain to stop, tears in my eyes from the onslaught of pain, I realized one thing: I didn’t want to die so soon like this. So with probably my last breath I inhaled as much as I could and screamed, “HEELLLLP!!”___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Fluttershy’s POV
We were on our way back to Ponyville, having visited Princess Celestia, as the chariots flew over the Everfree Forest. Suddenly we heard a most dreadful scream, “HEELLLP!!”
This was a scream of pure pain, agony and fear. I know just from the sound it was male and was in desperate need of help.
My heart immediately ached. Who would be out in the Everfree Forest at this time of day, at night, while it rains? Oh my, the poor pony! “We have to turn back! There’s a pony that needs help!” I leaped off the chariot I was on and flow as fast as i could go, witch wasn't that fast unfourtunely and the princess Celestia had quickly cought up and passed me taking the lead, after sevel long seconds of flying we reach the sarse of the cry for help to see a timber wolf standing over a small colt, witch was no more than six feet tall, I dashed over to the colt and thow my self over him protectively while celestia shot a blast of magic into the timber wolf sending it into sevel trees before falling to pieces. Celestia then turned to me panting slightly, "Fluttershy is he?" she asked in her usual motherly tone but worry and fear thick in her voice.
I put a hand to the small colt's mouth. "No, he's alive but his breathing is faint we need to hurry."
With that celestia nodded as we rushed off toward ponyville, with the colt in my arms its breathing growing fainter by second, celestia and I leading are the way strait to ponyville emergency medical clinic.

After a long period of running we had finally reached the clinic, I was the first to burst thought the doors, as all eyes turned to me and the blood soaked form I held tightly to my chest as I collapse as Celestia came in right behind me.
"We need a doctor immediately, this young colt is badly injured." celestia said trying to keep a claim tone
At that a two doctors and three nurses rush to me, took the colt from my arms and put him on a table to be taken to the E.R..

third pony pov
An hour pasted as the group all sit in the waiting room until a unicorn doctor came out to give them an update.
"Um princess celestia?" the doctor called
"yes." celestia answered
"Are you the one who brought in the injured colt?"
"That I am."
"My name is Dr First Aid."
"Well its nice to meet you doctor but what of the colt."
"AH yes well, would like the good news or the bad news first?"
"The good news please."
"Ok the good news is the colt's breathing is shallow and his heart beat is faint but he is now stable and he's going to make a full recovery."
The entire room let out a simultaneous sigh of relief as Dr aid finished.
"Now the bad news, we found multiple older scars on his chest and back, as well that his tail is missing along with 90% of his fur." "which all lead me to believe that this colt has been badly abuesed."
At that the group each showed signs of horror any discust, celestia hung her head in shame as repeated "How could let this happen?" to herself, Luna became visibly enraged and was ready to ponsinly punish the one responsable for such abuse to one so young, twilight sparkle and her friend rainbow dash each turn a sickly shade of green as searched for the nearest waste can, pinkey pie's mane deflated in sadness, rarity had fainted over a couch that appried out of nowhere, fluttershy hid her face behind her mane and was crying, applejack did the same with her hat.
"Well on a side note we also found a strange necklace on him."
"No matter what we did we could not remove it." "Everytime we took it off his neck it disappeared jest before reappearing on his neck."
"It must be magically bond to its owner." twilight said finally pulling herself from the waste can.
"Yes, thats what I thought as well, so I thought would come ask if princess celestia would be kind enough as come try to help remove the necklaces for his own safety."
"Of corse I do not mind helping one bit, and will galdly do what ever I can to do so..." celestia replied after regaining her composer
"...But only if my companions can come along as well." she finished
"Yes, of corse they can." doctor aid replied himself
The group then followed the doc thought the halls of the clinic the recovery room that the colt was resting in.
When they avide celestai walked over to sleeping form, she could smile at how peaceful he laid there, like there was no wrong in the world.
Then the colt began to stour as celestia held her breath, but he merly made a few small groans before subsiding.
"It would appear that he is having a..." Luna started but was cut off by a moun from the colt this one taking the form of audible speech.
"No... mother...please don't go...mother please."
The room went silent as celestia had finally releced her held breath and bent down to get a better look at the necklace.
she gasped from recognition of the penitent, she quickly pulled off her own necklace to line the pieces up, they matched perfectly.
tear welled up in her eyes as began to cry, seeing this luna went to her sister's in hopes to comforted her.
"Sister what troubles the?" luna asked sincerely
"Oh luna..." celestia nearly yells from excitement whist pulling luna in for a death hug "...Its him, Its really him."
"Him who sister and please compose thyself, thy hug is hurting us!" luna exclaimed
"My apologies sister... celetia said will let go of luna and composing herself jest as ask
"... Now to answer your question of who he is, his name is Dusk Sunlight, and he is my son. celestia statied matter-of-factly
there was a long moment of silence before a simultanuas
"WHAT!!!"
