Fluttershy was tending to her dear Angel when she heard a crash that made her jump. She looked out the window to find a fallen tree branch on the ground.
But that wasn't what scared her.
She saw something very familiar frantically scramble from the branch as if it didn't want to be seen.
It looked like- could it be? DISCORD??? Fluttershy thought as a shiver ran down her spine.
What was Discord doing in a tree?
Was he- Spying on her??
Fluttershy ran to the door and continued to frantically run to Twilight's Library.
When she arrived, she burst into the cozy tree house and shouted "Twilight!!!" (of course she was not very loud, though.)
Spike dropped the stack of books he was holding as the purple mare tripped and fell.
"Oh! I'm so sorry...did I startle you?" The yellow mare whispered as she grabbed Twilight's hoof and helped her up.
"A little bit..what do you need? You look like something startled you." She said with a bit of a giggle.
"Well, I saw something..." She slowly replied as she pictured the Draconequues in a tree glaring at her.
"And what did you see exactly?" Twilight answered as she started to lift an eyebrow.
"I saw...Discord." She whispered.
Twilight's eyes widened. "Discord??"
"Yes. And-and I think he was spying on me."
"Spying on you? Now why in all of Equestria would Discord spy on you?"
"I don't know but- what if he was planning on hurting me?"
"Discord? Hurt you?" She shook her head. "I don't think so."
"Well, could you put a protection spell on my cottage, you know, just in case?"
"If it makes you feel better then, I guess so.""Thank you so much Twilight!"
The two then trotted out the door and towards Fluttershy's cottage.
The yellow mare stopped in her tracks.
There was a note at the doorstep.
"Is...that for me?" Fluttershy whispered as Twilight started the spell.
"I think so."
"Sh-should I open it?"
"Well, yeah. Go ahead. I'll do the spell in a minute."
"Um...okay?" The yellow mare trotted up to where the note lay. She swallowed her saliva as she slowly picked it up. She opened the note.
It read:
Why hello there Fluttershy,
I truly am sorry if I startled you earlier, I was visiting Ponyville and I was looking for some nuts in your tree, and when the branch fell I ran away so I wouldn't scare you, but it turns out
I did just that. I won't bother you anymore

"Well, what does it say?" Twilight shouted.
"Oh, it's just an apology." Fluttershy replied.
"For what?"
"Its says he was getting nuts when the branch fell."
"Do you still want the protection spell?"
"Um...I-I guess not."
"Well, I gotta go. I have to catch up on some things."
"Um...goodbye."
Twilight trotted off back to her library.
Fluttershy remained in front of her little cottage, thinking over what had happened in the last fifteen minutes. B-but...what if he was lying??
She thought as she read the note over and over again. I'll...I'll go to Zecora, she'll know what to do... The yellow mare darted towards Zecora's hut.
She burst through the door as she knocked over a bottle. "Oops!" she softly whispered as she began to pick up the mess of broken glass.
"Fluttershy, what are you doing in my little hut? And make sure you do not get a cut." Zecora said, a little startled.
"Zecora...I-I saw Discord..." She replied, out of breath and continued to explain the rest of the story.
"Well, maybe what he lacks is somepony that he likes does not like him back."
Fluttershy's eyes widened.
"Y-you mean..m-me?" ears came to the yellow mare's eyes.
"Yes, I do mean you, Fluttershy. Dear friend, please do not cry."
"B-but, I-wha-he...likes...me?"
"Yes, I do think so, could you put that bottle back into the row?"
"I-I can't do this.." The yellow mare started to sob as she ran out the door.
She ran into her cozy cottage and collapsed onto the sofa.
Suddenly there was a knock at the door.
I wonder who that is... she thought as she wiped her eyes and slowly walked towards the door.
As soon a she opened it she squeaked and slammed it shut.
It was Discord.
Again.
Fluttershy slowly opened the door and whispered "Uhh...hello...D-Discord..."
"Um...hello D-Discord." Fluttershy quietly said as yet another shiver ran down her spine.
"Hello Fluttershy.." The draconequues stated awkwardly. "May I come in?"
"Um.. yes, of course." The yellow mare politely said as she opened the door. Discord entered and sat down on the sofa as Fluttershy asked. "W-would you like some tea?"
"Sure." the draconequues said as Fluttershy set a kettle on the stove. She slowly began to walk towards the couch when Discord made her stop dead in her tracks.
"I know you are scared of me." He said. She could tell that there was disappointment in his voice. "I know that I have done more than my share of evi-chaotic things. Including.."
He paused.
"Spying on you." Fluttershy held back a gasp. "You were spying on me??" She asked. "Why??" The draconequues hesitated. "Oh, I don't know.." He lied.
"I like to see what ponies are doing around here. You weren't the first, trust me." Fluttershy didn't know what to say. She knew he was lying. But she didn't know the actual truth.
There was a quite awkward silence.
Discord spoke up. "Well, I must be going." He hopped up from the sofa that he was sitting on. "Um, goodbye." the draconequues said as he left.
What just happened? Fluttershy thought as she removed the now singing tea kettle from the stove.
"What do you think I should do Angel?" The yellow mare asked as she turned to her little bunny. "I should tell Twilight. "She said as she started running to Twilight's treehouse once again.
