The Love of One's True Feelings

It started during the season of fall, the crisp air and newly fallen leaves made everything pretty. As a weather mare, it was my job to keep the weather as it was needed to be for each day. My friend, Twilight Sparkle, was recently made an alicorn princess. I was so happy for her, and I wanted to tell her something on the day of the coronation...but I couldn't. I didn't want her to know I had a crush on her. She might reject me! I feared rejection more than anything, but I didn't let that show. I still remember when I first felt that way...

I felt attracted to Twilight a year or two after we met. I couldn't flat out tell her! She might have taken it as a joke, and I don't know how I'd feel then. I almost lost her on several occassions, and I'm glad she's still alive. I love her too much to lose. I just...I get so nervous around her, but I maintain it, at least. So, I can describe what happened...

The ground was covered with leaves with shades of scarlet, burnt orange, and gold. Dash was in the park with Twilight, enjoying the cool fall evening. Nothing much had been said, the two mares both wore scarves with colors matching their own. They were both walking, and the wind blew gently, making a few leaves scatter and dance in the wind. Dash glanced at the moonlit sky, her gentle pink eyes twinkling. Twilight watched a few leaves dance in the wind, her amethyst purple eyes shining. Her ears tilted down some and a small reddish-pink blush faintly appeared on her cheeks. "Hey, Dash?" Twi asked.

Dash's ears perked up and she looked at Twilight. "Yeah?"

"Are you... Seeing anyone next week?"

"No... Why?"

"Because I want to take you to Fillydelphia!"

"F-Fillydelphia? Why?"

"Well, you've just been so kind to me lately, and I want to show you my thanks!"

Dash smiled brightly and she wrapped her arms around Twilight in an embrace, holding her close.

I wanted to kiss her right then and there, but... I knew she would think differently of me, I don't know, I just... I felt like she would.

Twi's blush brightened as she was eye to eye with Dash. Dash started to blush aswell. "Uh... Heh... It's cold out here, isn't it?" Dash asked, her ears hot with embarassment.

"Y-Yeah, it is.." Twi said, looking at the cobblestone road, her blush intensifying.

I didn't know what to think when I saw her blush. I was wondering if she felt the same way about me, but I was sure she didn't...

Dash bit her lip and let go of the embrace. "Should I... Should I take you home?"

"Y-Yeah, that'll be nice." Twi said, looking back at her, her blush making her cheeks seem brighter.

I took Twilight home. I told her good night, and I said I love you, except I said it right when she was about to close the door.

"I love you!" Dash said as Twi was starting to close the door. Both of their faces turned red and Dash's wings shot open. "D-Dash, I lo-" Twi began, and Dash shot off like a bullet, her secret out.
