It was very early in the morning and the lights of the sun had slowly come from outside the window moving towards Twilight’s bed and delicately touching her chicks. After a couple of minutes of her face being illuminated she finally woke up. Her head felt heavy and she also experienced a mild dizziness, result from staying up until very late in the night reading book after book. She has been thinking of installing some curtains on her bedroom’s window, but she never does because she knows that without them she would probably sleep the whole day without even noticing.

She shook her head off, she was still in half sleep, then she jump from her bed and walked to the bathroom. She stood up in front of the mirror and saw her mane being a mess, also she noticed what appeared to be the start of eye bags. She jumped into the shower in order to help her wake up and to start today’s activities. She washed her face several times as if the water will clean her skin condition I really need to stop doing these late night studies she thought while the warm water fell making the purple pony relax.

Once she was ready to start the day, she walked down the stairs very carefully trying not to wake Spike up, if he doesn’t sleep at least 10 hours he gets all cranky and Twilight felt too tired to deal with that. She arrived to the kitchen where she used her magic to levitate a coffee pot and started the stove. As she prepared everything to make a nice breakfast and coffee she remembered something Oh! Today is monday! Each monday the mail arrived, usually it didn’t came anything special more than bills or magazines she was subscribed to, but every once in a while she received letter from her parents or her brother and reading those first thing in the morning assure it to be a good day.

As the door opened she could see how the town looked so lively and happy. Everypony had started their morning routine, many of them were walking around the streets, the stores looked full of ponies shopping, and it was the same day the band ponies practice. This atmosphere combined with the sweet aroma of the pastry coming from Sugar Cube Corner made what started as a heavy and really painful day a nice and full of energy morning. Twilight closed her eyes for a moment, she found herself lost in her own mind almost daydreaming, but thankfully she was brought back into reality when Rainbow Dash flew by busting some clouds. The alicorn smiled when she saw her friend flying so freely and watched her disappearing leaving a beautiful rainbow behind her.

She reached her mailbox and noticed that all the letters were free, usually the mail ponies tied all the letters and packages with a string to hold everything up, however now the string was gone, thankfully using her magic she didn’t really needed a string to hold the letters. After taking her mail, she left the door of her house half opened to leave some of the atmosphere into the house. She ate her breakfast and drank her coffee, she felt like herself once again, but suddenly she noticed something coming from beneath the table.

“Watcha doin?!” It was non other than Pinkie Pie who was hiding under the table and jumped out

Twilight was startled from the sneak attack of her friend she almost fell from her chair “Pinkie?! How did you get there?”

“You left the door opened, silly” Said the pink pony with a giggle

Twilight rolled her eyes in annoyance, and asked “What brings you here so early?”

“Oh! I was doing my deliveries and I thought to just come and say hi”

“Deliveries?”

“Yeah, the Sugar Cube Corner now has a delivery service and they put me in charge. Can I take some coffee?”

“Sure. But careful it’s still hot”

Pinkie took the coffee pot and poured all of it’s content into her mouth, she drank until the last drop and after a couple of minutes she started to shake.

Twilight’s face showed her concern about her friend’s well being “Pinkie, are you… okay?”

“SorryTwilightgottagoIhavetomakemydeliveriesseeyoulatertakecarebyebye” And faster than a sonic rainboom the pink earth pony disappeared leaving nothing but a pink puff.

At least this time she didn’t make a mess she thought the princess with annoyance. The time to do her chores was about to arrive and Spike had just walked down the stairs and collapse onto the couch in the living room, apparently he still needed some more sleep, but he knew Twilight wouldn’t let him.

To finish her morning rituals the princess took her mail and scanned through the letters trying to find something interesting Biils… Bills… Stone Taster Magazine… To Princess Twilight Sparkle… Bills…  Wait what? She stopped her scanning and focused her attention on the fourth letter. It was a regular shaped with a plain white envelope and the words To Princess Twilight Sparkle written on the front, no return address, no stamp, there wasn’t even Twilight’s address. After inspecting the letter she decided to open it and see what it contained.

Dear Princess Twilight Sparkle:

There is something I have been meaning to tell you since a long time, but never managed to find the words to do so. Every time I have the chance to talk to you or spend a moment with you my throat closes and no matter how much I struggle my body refuses to obey what my mind commands leaving these words inside of me.

I just wanted to tell you that ever since I met you I have been secretly admiring you. How sweet you are to everypony, how you have saved everypony from disaster and never asked for a reward, the way you see everyone as equal and even though you are a princess now you are still see yourself as the rest of us. You are the kindest, most generous, and smartest pony I have ever known.

I wish I can one day be just a bit like you.

Yours Truly.

Your Secret Admirer.

After finishing reading the letter Twilight couldn’t help but to smile at the letter. It was crealy written by a fan considering the mistakes and the way it expressed itself, but it was sweet enough for the princess to feel a little embarrassed Wow I never had a secret admirer before… Or maybe I did, but I couldn’t have known. I wonder who this pony is. Whoever he or she is he or she certainly made my day.

Spike had finally raised from the sofa and stood next to Twilight “Hey, Twilight, what you got there?”

“Oh it’s nothing” She said “Just a letter I got. Now, time for you to start the checklist” She took a scroll and a quill with her magic.

Spike gave a big yawn showing he wasn’t ready yet “Can I at least have some breakfast?”

Twilight smiled “Okay, but do it quickly we have 9 minutes before we get behind schedule”

She folded the letter and walked back to her bedroom leaving the baby dragon eating his meal. She hid the letter beneath her pillow. There was something about that letter that made it special, maybe it was the fact that it was her very first letter from a fan, or maybe because whoever wrote it did it with his or her whole heart. Whatever the reason may be it was special enough for Twilight to keep as a treasure. She could start finding who the sender was by asking around or examine the letter carefully, but she thought it would be better to enjoy having somepony admiring her from the distant. There’s a reason the pony remained anonymous.

She went back down and saw Spike holding the scroll and quill apparently ready to start their chores, however he also had his face all frowned and his arms crossed. Twilight smiled and levitated his friend with her magic and placed him on her back

“You know, I think we can stop by with Rarity on our way back” Said Twilight giving a cheerful look to Spike.

“Really?!”

“Only if we finish our checklist early”

“Checked!” Said the baby dragon with glee.

The did their chores quickly and the whole day passed by uneventful. When they arrived with Rarity the alicorn thought to keep the letter to herself, if she told her friends about it they might think that she’s been pretentious. And also she thought it was something she prefered enjoying herself.
