Soul mates

Meeting

The Nurse's office is a surprisingly interesting place when you're bored and waiting for your medicine. Chairs that always make fart when you adjust yourself, a fridge just to the left of the door to keep the ice packs cold, and in my school's case store extra milk for anypony who wants it during lunch, and a little cuckoo clock that goes off every hour. Granted I always stick to the farting chairs. Immature, I know, but still fun.

"Alright Willow," The Nurse's voice cuts through the sounds of me moving my rear on the chair to make the aforementioned sounds, "I have your medicine."

I extend my hand and she drops two blue and white pills into my palm. Being used to the routine I constantly have to go through, I hand her the back page of my school agenda, containing all the late passes I've acquired. She takes a pen out of her shirt pocket, and clicks it before signing her name and the current time.

"Thanks Mrs. Blue Cross," I say, giving her my signature gesture of waving my hand with only my index and middle finger raised "see ya next week." She gives a warm smile before responding jokingly.

"Next time try to get here before you start getting symptoms again." I give a small giggle before opening the wooden door and going into the hallway.

I take a look at my H watch, and what I see makes me giddy.

The only thing this could mean is that he'll walk by me as I go into the bathroom, or maybe he's already in there. Meeting my soul mate in the bathroom would be rather taboo, but as long as I meet him I'll be happy.

I walk through the hallway to the Unisex bathroom, keeping an eye out for anypony who might be coming through the Principal's office as I walk by, but the area is desolate besides the usual school staff working diligently.

Seeing that there's nowhere else for him to be, I skip happily through the hallway towards the bathroom. Realizing I still have my pills, I decide to just swallow them now so that nothing can interrupt my meeting.

I stand at the door, waiting for the timer to hit 1 before walking in.

A smile adorns my face as I imagine what my soul mate could look like. Maybe he's big and beefy, like what every mare dreams of. Or maybe one of those softies that always care about the people close to them.

3...2...1

I walk into the bathroom with a big smile on my face, but what I see astounds me.

The stallion in front of me isn't the hunk I always thought it would be. No muscles, or any sign of physical attractiveness. Rather than a pony looking at me with smoldering eyes, the way I meet my soul mate is walking in on him cutting his wrists.

Blood stains the counter of the bathroom as he drops the razor blade in his hands, and looks at me with an astonished face. I look at the wrist he was cutting, and see multiple scars alongside three gaping wounds. I look to his face, my own showing my astonishment, to see tears streaming freely as he looks toward his own H watch and sees that the countdown has ended.

I look at his whole body to see who my official soul mate is now. Pale blue fur, dark green eyes, and an untrimmed faded blue mane with a dark green highlight going through the tips of his bangs.

He looks back to me, and slowly walks towards me as he puts me in an embrace and starts sobbing loudly. Having absolutely no idea what to do accompanied with the fact that I have the consoling skills of a potato, I pat his head as he buries his face in my shoulder.

"I'm so sorry that you had to meet me like this..." He finally says between sobs as he calms down. "I'm sure you wouldn't know what it feels like, but I've lived the worst life possible." Rather than interrupt him, I decide to pull him into an embrace of my own and squeeze him lightly as he explains his life story.

"My whole life has been dealing with bullies that have broken me mentally, parents that have destroyed me physically, and being the most unpopular pony here has taken a toll on me spiritually." My eyes widen as I realize that this colt, this little guy, has been through the same hell I have.

"You're not the only one." I say, as I tell him about the endeavors we've both been through. "I've dealt with the same things." He looks at me quizzically, before asking the question that was probably going through his mind.

"If you have, then why do you look so cheerful?" I look at his eyes with compassion, realizing that making an impression with my official soul mate is kind of a go big or go home type thing.

"I made a friend," I say. "the nurse at this school to be specific. I have schizophrenia, so every week I had to go to her and take my medication." I look to the wall across from us as I reminisce on the first few days I spent with Mrs. Blue Cross. "Eventually we became great friends, and since I finally had somepony to spend my time with, I just spent every day possible with her. Nowadays I always just think about how I would ruin her life if my horrible life or my disease took control of me."

I sit with him for a couple more minutes before the principal's voice boom through the loudspeakers.

"Willow, please come to the principal's office."

I get up to go, but my soul mate's hand keeps me from moving away as he grabs my jean's cutoff.

"My name is Amp Strength." he says before letting go and getting up to walk with me. I smile before trying to think of something to say to him.

"Well you just heard mine, but it's been nice to meet ya." I give him my signature wave before opening the door and walking towards the principal's office. I add a little spring in my step as I can't contain the joy I have now that I've met my soul mate.

I'm sure I can help pull Amp Strength out of whatever funk he's in.
