BraveWing looked around, he had been bound in some kind of slime, he looked around, there was at least three changelings guarding him, and he had no chance of escaping from this slime. The guard that he had been bound with was knocked out, there wasn’t much he could do. He had taken the day off, just so he could spend some special time with SunsetHeart, but here he was, in full armor and unarmed, without any way to defend Canterlot. Around him, ponies where running in panic, a few tried to fight the changelings but most of them where captured shortly after. He closed his eyes, just hoping it all could just end and he could go back to his old life. He thought about how he had met her, how he had just been sitting there, alone, trying to escape his loneliness in alcohol, then she showed up, she had just invited him to dance with her, first, he had thought she was drunk or something, and he had hoped so to because his dancing was... bad. A loud blast made him snap out of his thoughts, he opened his eyes and saw a pink wave that was heading towards him, unable to move, he closed his eyes once again and got ready for the collusion. But instead of being knocked away, he could feel the slime, evaporate. And when he opened his eyes, all the changelings where gone. At first, he didn’t believe it, but as he looked around, all the other ponies had started getting up, or those who wasn’t knocked out or had passed out. Slowly, he got up on his hooves, then he started running back home. Oh please let her be okay, oh please for the love of Celestia. He thought to himself as he ran down the streets of Canterlot, when he passed by the new buildings, he remembered when she had shown up outside his door that night, telling him that her house had burnt down. They had only been friends for about three weeks back then, but for him it seemed like over three years. Anyways, since it was in the middle of the night he had just went back to bed, and to his surprise, SunsetHeart had joined him, hugging him from the back, first he had been surprised, but it had been a welcomed surprise, when he thought about it, that night could have been the start of their relationship. He continued to run towards his house, or it was more their house now, he had offered her to live there so you could say it was their house. After a few more minutes, he could see the house in the distance. It didn’t look like it had taken any damage, he stopped outside the door, and tried to open it, locked. ’’Sunset? Are you there? Hello?’’ He called out. Oh please just let her be okay. He thought to himself. He took a peak into the kitchen, nothing, but when he walked past the bedroom he could hear groans coming from it, as he looked inside, he could see a big mark on the wall, and on the floor, a small black creature, a changeling. He froze, stood still and hoping it wouldn’t notice him, but after a few seconds it opened it’s big blue eyes and looked around.
’‘Wingy? Is something wrong?’’ The changeling said with a feminine voice.
’’W-What... who are you?’’ He said, stammering.
’‘What do you mean?’’ The changeling asked, obviously confused, then it looked down on it’s hole filled hooves and the changelings eyes widened. ’’Oh no no no no no.’’ She said, trying to cover her face with her hooves.
’‘Where is SunsetHeart.’’ He asked coldly.
’’J-just lis’’
’‘WHERE IS SHE!’’ He shouted, already feeling the tears building up behind his eyes.
’‘I’m SunsetHeart.’’ She said, sobbing quietly.
’‘LIAR!’’ He shouted in blind rage.
’‘Can you please just listen to me?’’ She said looking into his eyes.
’‘Why would I listen to you, changeling.’’ He said.
’‘Because I listened to you, when I meet you, you were a emotional wreck, drowning your sorrows in alcohol. I... I guess I just felt sorry for you so I tried to cheer you up.’’ And I was desperate and starving she added in her head. ’’I just never thought I would get this attached to you.’’ She finished, a little bit calmer than before.
’’Oh that was just a lucky guess.’’ He said. How the hay did this, she, know? He thought to himself.
’‘Remember when you crashed under the tryouts for the royal guards? You had crashed with full armor, you were at the hospital for two months, and I stayed with you, working full time just to pay rent and food, even when you were asleep, I sat next to you, I didn’t even enter our house once those two months, when the store closed, I went right back to the hospital, I didn’t care if you were awake or not, I just sat there for countless of hours, day after day, but I still thought it was worth it, and I would do it a hundred more times if I needed to.’’ She said, looking him deeply into his eyes, just hopping that he would understand.
BraveWing stared at the changeling, was this really her? Had he fallen in love with a changeling? ’‘Why... why did you lie to me?’’ He asked, starting to believe that this changeling was in fact his marefriend.
’’I never lied to you, everything I told you was the truth, maybe I didn’t tell you the whole truth, or stayed a little bit secretive with my answers a few times, but I never lied to you, never.’’ She said, trying to stand up but her injuries didn’t allow her to. ’’I... I just didn’t wanna lose you, without even knowing it you changed my life, just, please don’t leave me.’’ SunsetHeart said while looking BraveWing into his emerald green eyes, without his cloak on, that they gave every guard he was a light blue coated pegasus with a yellow mane. She looked down in the floor, just, hoping it all could just come to an end.
BraveWing looked at SunsetHeart, at his marefriend. Who cares if she is a changeling? I fell in love with her, I was happy, he took off his armor, and placed it on the floor, turned of the cloak and slowly started walking towards her and lay down next to her. ’‘Sunset, why would I leave you?’’ He asked warmly, ignoring the fact that she was a changeling.
’‘I’m a changeli’’
’’So? It wouldn’t be very nice to leave your wife just like that.’’ He interrupted.
’‘Wait what?’’ She said, confused.
’‘Look, I fell in love with you for who you are, who cares if you are a changeling? Before I meet you, I was like you said a emotional wreck, and after a while, I fell in love with you, you stayed by my side, supported me, without you, I’m nothing. I just wish that I told you how much you mean to me sooner, how you changed my life. Will you marry me?’’
SunsetHeart just stared at him, stunned by what he had just said, then, she threw herself at him, ignoring the pain she wrapped her hooves around him in a tight hug and buried her face in his shoulder. ’‘Oh for the love of Celestia YES!’’ She whispered, almost crying in happiness.
BraveWing wrapped his hooves around SunsetHeart, hugging her gently and buried his muzzle in her shoulder, he didn’t care of what others would say, he loved her, he loved a changeling, and he couldn’t be happier.
